Bajaj Shakthi Water Heaters
Sep 20, 2013 03:38 PM 8993 Views

https://shop.bajajelectricals.com/Shakti-25L-V-Glass-Lined-SWH-pc-106-33.aspx

I always had high reputation for Bajaj and I had bought two water heaters [15L and 25L] for my apartment in the hope that I would receive fantastic product and post sales service.

Unfortunately both the units failed on installation.

I was suggested to file a complaint to Bajaj service. I did so promptly on 12th Sept 2013. From then on I haven't had a service engineer visiting my flat to check the issue. Every other day I'm calling the helpline with only empty promises of escalating the priority and having some one visit by end of day.

What is the point in having good warranty if the service engineers can't turn up for a week! I'm loosing all faith on Bajaj electircals, who can't send a service engineer to my place to check the issue for more than a week. Now I would like to know how I could return this product back!

Update: Eventually the Bajaj folks came by to fix it. It was a simple electrical trip inside the water heater. This was fixed by just flicking a switch back. Bajaj could have kept this switch outside!

Updated rating to Good.

Poor Service, poor heating

Very poor service. Installation done after 8 days of purchase with rigorous follow up. Now Heating is poor. It is just a showpiece. Everyday morning struggling to get hot water.

Instead of Bajaj Geyser better to use immersion rod. Very much Disappointed with Bajaj Product and service.

I will not suggest to anyone.

Don't even think abt it

I bought 2 Bajaj geysers in 2010. Since then it has been a litany of woes whereby they take turns in breaking down. The geysers broke down twice in 2011, three times in 2012 and I have already had to raise complaint tickets twice in 2013 (I haven't kept the details for 2010).

Earlier at least the customer service was prompt, but lately it has taken a real turn for the worse. Their promise is to get in touch with you within 2 days of reporting a complaint, but it takes multiple follow-ups if you even manage to get them to call you within 5 days. As for fixing the problems, the last time they couldn't (or wouldn't) fix it within 10 days after which they closed the complaint because I had to travel outstation.

Escalations are pointless because you are provided the contact details of their manager, who's sole assistance is to provide you with the number of their local customer service outlet where no one picks up the phone. Even by Bangalore standards (where poor service is nothing unusual), Bajaj service has become really shoddy.

I live an an apartment complex, but I seem to be the only one facing recurrent issues with my geysers so I doubt if this can be blamed on water quality of my neighborhood. Strongly recommend avoiding Bajaj water heaters till they fix their quality and service issues.

Worst service of Bajaj Electricals
Nov 26, 2012 03:46 PM 7995 Views

I had purchased Bajaj Water heater of 15L capacity. The product has given lot of problem like element failure and leakage etc. Even though it has got 3 years warrenty, it means nothing because of horrible service. They took more than one month to replace a part.

That too after repeated reminders to the company. The most worst part is that even the head of the service ( Bajaj employee and not franchisee) has no control and initiative to rectify customer's problem. Therefore you are totally helpless after purchasing this product. I would recommend not to buy any product of Bajaj electrical because you have to run piller to post to get service. This is very unusual from a private company.

Very Bad

I bought Bajaj water geyser Shakti 15 lt, faced a horrible experience. From the day I purchased, it started giving me problems. Water leakage was the biggest problem in it, I even called bajaj technician 4 times in 10 months, but they only did temporary solutions. Now it's guarantee expired, so every time they are charging there full fee, for repairing it. Though the piece was defected from the day I purchased it. Horrible product, Wastage of money and Time.

Its Ok

I purchased a Bajaj Majesty 3L instant water heater almost 2 years ago and it has been running smoothly so far. I have also looked for reviews of instant water heaters of other brands and no one seems to be complaining much about instant water heaters. So why I bought Bajaj Majesty? - Horrific logic - I have a Bajaj Pulsar which I absolutely love, so went for Bajaj. My guess it that, any brand is as good when it comes to instant water heaters.

My aunt has USHA instant and that's also good(3+ years) from experience. For those who think instant water heater is really instant, here is the shocker. its NOT! You have to switch on the water heater and open the tap very little. So getting 1 bucket of reasonably hot water will take 5-10 mins. You can’t take a shower for sure even though some reviews have mentioned otherwise.

My current house owner has fitted a Bajaj Majesty 15L storage water heater. Not sure when it was bought but there was some problem. We had a tough time trying to get the service guys. Also they said the coils are gone and need to be replaced and we agreed, costed 1500+. It worked fine for 1 day and we had the same problem again. Then another 10 days to have a service person look at it. To our surprise, we accidentally found out that the replaced coils(for which we were charged) were not new. Again he changed something, it worked for 1 day and stopped working again. I have called them a week back but still no response.

So I will recommend Bajaj water heaters only for USE AND THROW purpose only. NOT for SERVICE AND KEEP like our good old televisions. Still trying to decide on a good storage water heater to buy and substitute for this defunct one.

Found very efficient service within 48 hrs

I bought Majestic Glassline heater last month and was little disappoint to see that it stopped working.

Logged a call and infact it was wrongly fitted where the connection pipe was incorrect.

Person from Authentic Service, tippasandra came and fixed it immediately. There was no charge and service was within 48 hrs.

I think I read a lot of bad reviews but looks like Bajaj has improved the service efficiency. I can recommend this product.

Design Problem (water leakage, slow heating)
Feb 23, 2011 02:00 PM 10262 Views

I installed Bajaj Majestic water heater very recently. As soon as we turn the water knob(expecting I will have hot water after 5-10min) we realised there is a leakage. Now all inlet and outlet pipes are just below the vertical tank it was difficult to identify where the problem was. After too many exercise, by drying the pipes and inlet/outlet, we found that water leakage is happening from somewhere inside the tank. Obviously, I did not want to open that cover plate(as most of the time service guy comes and say "you touched it, your warranty has no meaning"). The mention service and toll free number did not exist; I called some office number mentioned in the booklet who guided me to another(a mobile number).

Even though it was smooth after that as next day the service person came who immediately corrected it by saying "Sir! This model has this repeated problem. It is an assembly defect". What surprises me, a service guy knows what the problem is but as company Bajaj appliances has no clue what defects their products have.

Another bathroom I have installed "Remson water heater" and must say no match to its quality and service. I read good feedback for Remson, please note this has 5 stars rating. Whereas, Bajaj Majastic has 4 star.

Also noticed:

  • Heating is slow.

  • It does not keep the water warm for long. Whereas, Remson performance is awesome.

Bajaj Water Heater Shakhti 25 L / Majesty 25 L
Jan 21, 2011 01:11 PM 16456 Views

Bajaj is a a very big company, I have used a lot of products of bajaj OTG, toasters, and other small appliances

Experience with Water Heaters

One : the old majesty 25 litres water heater which used to be copper tank I had purchased it from a store in Bangalore near majestic wonderful product because it has worked well and lasted very long, till today it works nicely heating water fast and gives enough water for about half hours bath.

Two : bajaj 15 litres shakthi which used to be copper tank from the same store in Bangalore near majestic still working and giving me hot water with good out put and heats in less time.

On 18/1/2010 I purchased a bajaj platina 25 litres new model from a store in majestic bvk iyengar road this water heater has a new modern look but after installing it and using it for some days I found that the hot water I get is very less compared to my old water heaters of bajaj it was really something I didn't expect a new product should give me better output of hot water but was incomparable.

I believe the old products were really good unlike today I found that bajaj is not a manufacturer of these water heaters and the inner drums are not the copper drums they get them manufactured in china and only market the product here in India.

Well that was the 1st attempt, I again purchased a bajaj after this out of faith and trust including hope on 10/8/2010 I purchased the shakthi 15 litres from the same store in Bangalore looks new and different again this time I have been using it till now good output of water no issues with heating and performance ----- as months passed -------

Here we go 15 January 2011 heater not working whats the problem coil has put my nerves in the water heater, call the service engineer from bajaj replied : ill would be visiting your place on 17 January 2011, 17th has passed, 18th has passed finally 19th the service man arrives what is the problem with the water heater madam, I replied: the water isn't getting hot the service man replies: ill check that, he checks the same and replies madam the coil has burnt out so I would need to replace it, I replied ok, -----suddenly madam the coil would cost you 700 rs for replacing.

I replied I have guarantee for the same he replies the water heater has been switched on without water now so the guarantee would be void wait a second how can my water heater be switched on without water ... When I'm in an apartment with 24/7 running water not only that I said ok replace the same.

I would bear the 700 for now as I have a 3 year old kid at home and its a very important to get my water heater working as early as possible. Now the service man says I have no stock for the coil I would have to get the same and get back till today the service man has not attended to this complaint and I have no idea when will he do the needful.

(This is my experience in buying a bajaj geyser you could be next I recommend all my friends and people out there to be careful before buying a product like bajaj).

Bajaj Majesty water heater

7 November 2008. Kolkata

I feel really bad about it. I bought a Bajaj water heater that is 15 litre bajaj majesty on 1st November 2008.

Right after installing it I found it has lick in its tank. Water is coming out from all over its body. The water falling from it not drop wise but like constant stream.

From the outside it looks great. And I guarantee that the product was not handled roughly. I am sure that it has the manufacturing defect. It is also possible that the dealer (Electrovision) mishandled it. I called up Bajaj appliance service center, they are suppose to send one one to check it but two days gone nobody came yet.

I bought it from a dealer in Javadpur called Electrovision. I do not have a good impression to the shop as they seems having defective products. This is also the dealer's responsibility to take care of the defective product.

Regards,

Sougata

Bajaj Shakti 15L Geyser is very good with a tough outer body and inner Copper vessel. Its durable and easy to accomodate even in smaller places. The power Consumption is average. I would recommend this geyser over fancy fibre body geysers. This is Cost effective and better then other products of the same type. So far I have never encountered any difficulty with the product and the dealer has been very good to provide service whenever required. I was considering buying Venus (Splash) first but then I preferred Bajaj because it has been known to best in Geysers all those years and Many people have rated the company best as per the performance is Considered. The Product comes In Ivory Color which matched with My bathroom Walls. Auto Switch Off had an additional advantage and takes care of the safety Issues. Not much accessories are required during fitting. dealer Promised me a warrant of 1 Year on technical Issues and 8 Years warranty over the body (That was maximum I could find in the Market)

Yes!! I always prefer to go for brands....because it's the brand which carries the features and dependency of the product...but well!!!! one must have proper knowledge and information... Bajaj is the trusted household name in India and despite its rusty rudy outlook I have purchased the Bajaj EE6 water heater some months ago and I am confident like thousand others I have not to repent...

It has metal body and just after installation the fuse went out...but on checking with the electric wiring (external of course) which shares the refrigerator line I found that the fuse wire was very thin. But after constant use I am greatly relieved that my electric bill is not at all fat... thanks for my decision for going for the cute little 6 ltr. one which is enough for a 2+1 family.

But all praise is not desireable.... the external body needs to be well painted..the Company should attend to that because smart get up is the buzz word today..and my wife was suspicious for the rusts on the newly opened set whether it's used one or not..

One of the most common instruments that one can find in bathrom is the Water Heaters.

I am using this water heaters for last 3 years continously(almost everyone in my house uses it) but till now it has not given any sort of problem to us..

The quality of heating is also good, but still it can be improved and some extra feautres like a Temperature indication of water must be provided.

The only thing which we dont like about it is that the paint of outer covering got removed after one years so that area from where paint has come out it started get rust and now its almost reach the stage that I have to get the outer covering replaced as soon as possible.

Coming to its good features It the cut-out to prevent excess heating which never gave me any problem. whenever temperature rises to certain degree its cut-out comes into play and just switch off the heater..

I will recommend it to everyone..
