Baba Basukinath Dham, Dumka

This Temple is about 40-45km from deoghar is a good place of plimigrage, any one visiting deoghar must visit Basukinath. it is said that Baba Badiyanath is high court and Basukinath is supereme court. Its a very popular religious destination located in Jharkhand visit this temple annually in the hindu month of sawan along with the shiva temple in deoghar.

Baba Basukinath Dham is the most important holy palace of Hindus. It is dedicated to lord shiva. Approx 1 crore devotees are come here yearly to fulfill their worship. It describes in shiv puran and shiv strotam that once lord shiv came this palace and give worship to a farmer 'Basuki' to built the temple for reliefing peoples from several diseases. They blessed to basuki that his name will be added in this Dham i.e known as Basukinath Dham. Peoples who come to Baba baidyanath dham deoghar, did not forget to come basuki nath dham. After coming in basuki nath dham, their kanwar yatra is successfully completed, BOL BAM

What to say about this place, I live in Dumka and Basukinath Dham is 30 Km far from my house.Let me tell you till now I have visited this place more  than hundred times. And I known much of this  religious place. This place is located at Basukinath, Dumka jharkhand.You can visit this place either using road ways or railways. I prefer rodways every time I visit.

There are many small temples of various God  and Goddess but primarily  Lord shiva is been worshipped in this temple .Inside the main temple there is shivling, it is said that this shivling came out of the earth on its own. And bhagwann shiv is present in this shivling. It is said that Whenever someone  visits the temple, he has to touch the shivlingh and then only his prayer is over.

During Mahashivratri, the temple is decorated new every where and marriage ceramony of lord shiva and her wife parwati is organised every year.I myself was the part of this special marriage for two continuous year. It is said and I too have experienced whosoever, prays with true heart to lord shiva at  this temple gets his dream true. Nearby, the temple there is shivganga.Whenever, I visit the place, first I take a holy bath at this pond and then only I go for main prayer. Any one coming Dumka must experience this place once.

I visited Baba Basukinath temple with my family during my school life in the year 2007. Actually it is not a temple. It is a pilgrimage of Swamy Basukinath with the inbuilt structure of three to four temples and is regarded as holy place for its devotees. This place is of prime importance for its devotees because it is the'Samadhi' place of Baba Basukinath. The place is silent and beautiful with a meditative environment as it is surrounded with natural vegetation with ashram near to it. There is regular visit of its devotees throughout the year. The temple is pretty spacious and well maintained in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. You will find regular mobility of devotees throughout the year.

The best thing I like here is peaceful environment and its architectural concept which is structured in typical Eastern architecture concept of India, especially the Assamese concept with white and red colour combination. The passage is well managed for the mobility in the temple. The decorum is sober because of the security arrangement in the place. There are few shops to offer Prasad at temple at reasonable rates. It is run by a Trust. The best thing about this temple is that there is no unnecessary demand or offering of money or any formalities for prayer or worship which happens in few temples now days. The temple does not have much rush and is quite manageable. Don’t miss this temple if you visit this place with your family. Nobody asks you for paying homage or money for donation unless you give it willingly from your own.
