Located in the Eastern Ghats a beautiful valley called Araku, this place holds its own beauty, a serene place located approximately 114 km from Visakhapatnam or Vizag surrounded by the galikonda, raktakonda, sunkarimetta.
The valley is connected through railways, a passenger train leaves daily from Vizag station and takes approximately seven hours, from Araku station cabs are available to reach you to the destinations, also Araku is connected by roadways from Vizag. The journey to Araku is memorable as the trains pass tunnels, hill sides and streams.
The local sightseeing includes Padmapuram Gardens, tribal museums, coffee Museums, Chaparai waterfalls, Dumbriguda waterfalls, Araku is famous for its coffee plantation by the tribal farmers under the recognition of "Araku Coffee" the best time to visit Araku is throughout the year from February to December.
Araku offers a whole lot of options for staying from tribal cottages to hotels however it is advisable to pre-book your hotel to avoid last minute rush.
In terms of safety, this place is very safe this is what I felt staying among the locals.
