Angry River - Ruskin Bond

This book is excellent .it is having an short story but very impressive and heart touching one.the book is very short of just 80 pages with large font size if you convert it in a normal font it comes in just 30 - 40 pages.this story is written bu rustin bond one of my fauvorite author.it is written in simple language.this story is about a girl sita she lives with her grandparents outside city.

Their life real difficult to survive.one day her grandmother gets ill.sita faces a real challenge in her life.everything in this story was written perfectly.the moment I started reading this book I felt that I was in that story it was so real.I enjoyed a lot after reading this story.it has given me a great feeling.it shaked my spirit.everybody should read this book its simply heart touching.

Sita and her grandparents live on an island in the middle of a big river. One day, as monsoon rains are beginning to fall, grandmother becomes ill and has to be taken by boat to the hospital . Alone on the island as the river rises, sita faces the greatest challenge of her life.Angry river is a 1972 children, s novel by Indian author Ruskin Bond illustrated by Trevor Stubley. It was published in India and England and translated into Dutch, French, and Hindi.

What a writer! Inspite of this being a less than 50 page novel, the description, flawless imagination and feels as if I was in the scene observing. Through out the whole story, I felt as if I was there and not reading a novel. Ruskin Bond the great. Book Readability is too good and clear.

It is another of Ruskin Bond's compelling story told in simple language. I was able to empathize with Sita. Her small family of her grand-parents and herself, portrays India's poor people, who do not have even the bare necessities and yet they survive. To fight against all odds and survive is the essence of this book. Sita's childlike whimsies of talking to a doll to keep her company and in contrast her maturity in managing the household, touches the reader. I think it also says, that there is a child is every mature person, we are only too scared to admit it.

A nice book!Angry river is a 1972 children's novel by an Indian author Ruskin Bond illustrated by Trewar stubley. It was first published in India and England and then after translated in Dutch, French and Hindi.Many new books are coming day by day in markets but only those books response good which are liked by reader.

A very well written and a simple story by Mastero Ruskin bond. it talks about the adventures of a young girl who goes to live with her grandparents in a remote village .how she spends her time and how she handles a situation when her village is flooded with heavy rains, the way she fights it out despite the extreme conditions and the support she receives from another boy is well crafted and beautifully written by ruskin. it makes us really introspect as to how we need to handle and face life despite the compelling situations .worth reading it .good book

I read this book in 5th standard and liked it, I remember that. But yesterday, when I found this book lying in one of the boxes which store my childhood books, I began to read it again. This such a awesome book for read. a quick read, and a beautiful one. I would definitely read it again, even if just to take a break from the longer length stories/novels around.

The story of this book is, The story is narrated in a simple language, compelling to read. nice. Really lovely n nicely written. Must read atleast once.

Angry river is children story of Ruskin Bond's told in easy language. I was able to understand with Sita. Her small family of her grand-parents and herself, portrays India's poor people, who do not have even things for basic needs and yet they survive. To fight against all negative things and survive is the moral of this book. Sita's childlike whimsies of talking to a doll to keep her company and in contrast her maturity in managing the household, touches the reader. I think I can also say that there is a child is in every mature person, we are not able to admit it. You read this book before your children.

I am fan of Ruskin Bond because he is only single english writers who writes for children and youth both. His stories are voice of every child. Angry River is also best novel . It is only 70 pages with very easy language. Ruskin writes very simple and common words sothat every student or childs could understand stories. Angry river shows what is the problems of poors and what is the problem of flooded rivers. A little girl sita faces many problems after flood and what is going on in our system. Rural india appears in Angry River . Good emotional story with pictures. Thanks Ruskin Bond.

In my childhood, there used to be a Peepal tree near my place; very old even older than my father. In a way, it was our tree; we used to play under it. Its trunk was so wide and big with number of cracks and cavities, that it was perfect for Hide and Seek. It was easy to ascend and we used to spend quite a lot of time hanging and dangling on its branches and last but not the least it used to provide perfect sleep in summer times when there used to be no electricity in town.

Then, came a day, when sky was total black with clouds all around - with no sign of moon and stars – and there were lightening and thundering. Wind was blowing like never before. All through the night we heard strange sounds of wind and rain, we were so frightened in our bed – me and my brother – clinging to our quilts, that we hardly had any sleep that night. Next day, when rain was over we ran excitedly towards the tree - for our daily visit - only to find a group of men surrounding the dead body of our friend, and some of them had already begun cutting its branches and trunk wood. Big Peepal trees still remind me of that tree, but it’s this book “Angry River” that reminded me of that night, that unpleasant night.
