I bought my music system in November 1999 and since then we are enjoying the music which is very pleasing to senses. Let me start with the good things about this product :

User console is simple and feature packed, very easy to use.

Built in twin cassette deck , 3 cd changer, digital tuner and provison for connecting MIC, headphone at the front and AV cable at the back with antenna for digital tuner.

Speaker quality with built in wooden frame and gives output of 800 watts p.m.p.o

Remote control is light and has buttons which supports all features .

The front console has silver finishing and has easy access buttons like jog dial, one touch button for playing cds in changer and again one touch button for rock, pop and classic effects.

Has separate buttons for dubbing, recording and since its a twin cassette deck system dubbing feature is very handy if you want to make replica of cassettes.

I play MP3 music on this system by connecting my IPOD through a AV cable, works great.

Now the shortcomings of this music sysem :

You cannot play MP3 music cds since it can only play regular cds having music files with .wav format .

Antenna for digital tuner has to be placed in a certain angle otherwise the radio is distorted.

If you are playing music cds on high volume, sound skips due to vibration.

Since AIWA products are discontinued in India, service is handled by SONY service center where the parts and labour are expensive.

Overall, a good product looking at the fact that I have completed nine years with this product and still going strong. I got is serviced only once from Sony service center, which cost me Rs.2000/-

Aiwa Produts No Never.

I purchased Aiwa model NSXS333 in 2000. It had a warranty of only 6 months and the problem started after that. At high volumes the CD track skipping started (due to vibrations), then I had to replaced LENS twice in 2 years costing me Rs3000/- , the brushes of the volume control got damaged and the Deck2 of the cassete player gives frequent problems.

Aiwa closed down their market in India and now there is no service available. The local repair shops/service centers charges exhorbitantly and cannot give you orignal spares. There is no contact address given by Aiwa for any support. When I asked the service center about the manufacturer they did not tell me clearly about the Aiwa manufacturing. No the product from indian market has vanished and the company has no regrets for that. I believe that these companies are selling low quality products for Indian customers.

The product is fraud, quality is bad and service is worst. I am frustrated. SAY NO TO AIWA always.

Music is divine. It is rich and cultured and it is one that brings out the best in someone. Music has something in it , a divine power that makes people get drawn towards it. There are people who love music. There are people who fanatically follow musicians and their music. But there is a class of people who are classified as “Musicaholics”. And this is the class I belong to. To be honest, I am a music freak. “Anything for music” has been my catch word. Whether it may be pop, rock, reggae, rap, melo or classical, I am right there.

Now for such a music lover, there should be a player that can fulfill all his needs, right. Yes, having a huge collection of songs and playing in Winamp does give you an advantage. But nothing like having a music system. I always prefer listening to music in my music system. And it is a pleasure for me to review this music system, the “Aiwa NSX-S333”, something I adore. Now read on.

Right from the time my dad brought home this system, I started meddling with it. The best part in the system is the remote. Except for placing the CD, all other jobs can be done with the remote. Firstly we can opt for the functions like tapeplay, deck, tuner or Video CD with touch of a button. All other operations can be done very easily with the remote. The design is good too. I am impressed.

In the “Aiwa Music System” there is a whole lot of things that you can do. Firstly, adjustments in sound. The volume control has big range of 31 decibels. Now that is really big. What with a Super T-Bass System, the sound simply resounds. An ultimate high end tool called the Graphic Equiliser enables us to set up music in any of the three modes in ROCK, POP and CLASSICAL. Another striking aspect of the system is the DSP Surround System. The Digital Signal Processor surround system can recreate the effect of sounds reflected from walls or ceilings. You have 3 options in DISCO,LIVE and HALL.

Radio has taken a new dimension these days with the upcoming of private radio stations like Radiocity in India. For the kind of music they play, it would be fitting only if you have a very good music system. And who else is the best. Aiwa has an exceptional radio reception quality and the best place to listen to FM is out here. I love it.

Tape playback is again impressive. With an option of two decks, we can have multiple choices. CD Playing has never been so easy anywhere else. Just load the disc and start playing with your remote. It is more of a child’s play really. While playing a CD you can either play the music in the exact order or have a random play. In fact you can even have a repeat of the same song over and over again, like I always do. What more, you can also program a playlist. Now, that is cool.

One cannot have a brand new song CD, just for the cost. But when the radiowala plays them, it would be wonderful to record them. This is where the recording aspect comes into picture. One can easily record any song from the radio directly to the tape. 4-second blank space can also be inserted between each song. You can also dub songs from a tape or even dub a whole tape. The most unique feature of them all is the “AI Edit Recording”. You can record songs from a CD into a tape. This is very unique to Aiwa alone.

There is also a special “Karaoke Program”. With this, one can record voices with music in the background. The “Synchro Dubbing” button enables this. Vocal Fader and Multiplex functions too come to the fore. With the Karaoke program you can reserve upto 20 tracks to be played after the ongoing track.

In addition to all these, there is a built in clock, using which a person can set a sleep timer, control the playlist and time the recording procedure.

With all these cute features, I would like to say that “Aiwa” is the best music system you can ever bargain. I have had a great experience with this system and I enjoy listening to good music in my “Aiwa”. Maybe, for me becoming a musicaholic, Aiwa is very much responsible in a big way. Because, music gets a better dimension from this CD system, the “Aiwa NSX-S333”, that simply rocks. I bet, this would be your best buy ever.

Pretty Good

The NSX-S555 from Aiwa is a superb hi-fi.

It features a 3-disc multi-changer, double tape deck and a digital tuner with loads of presets. What is really good, given the reasonable price is the inclusion of powerful 4-way speakers complete with sub-woofers. And believe me, get a tune with some big bass and pump up the volume and you can feel this baby move.

One area that it does let down is higher frequency sounds, the speakers are fine for mid-low range but with no tweaters they can be a bit flat on the slower more instrumental tunes, and the hi-fi is clearly out performed by lower priced rivals in this range. An optional set of extra speakers solves this however, making a superbly complete system for the price.

The addition of a MD optical out makes it a good choice if you have an MD player, aswell as this the system can act as an alarm clock and even has a simple game feature on the display. The usual bass boost options are available as are 3 presets to shape the sound to suit to the music, although a little more control here would have been nice.

My unit has been reliable, although I have only had it for close to one year.

Overall this a brilliant system given the sub £200 price point, infact you should be able to pick it up for arounf £160 now.
