Well, there are no points for guessing that the talk of the town at this point of time is Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming action spy thriller Agent Vinod. Saif Ali Khan’s home production Agent Vinod has been filming and in post production for what seems like time immemorial, but is now finally heading towards D-day which is set as March 23rd. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, who has earlier given us intriguing movies like Johnny Gaddaar and Ek Hasina Thi. The movie will star Saif Ali Khan and his real life girl Kareena Kapoor in the lead. The music of the film has already spread like wildfire among the masses. Pritam has composed the music of the movie.
The album kick starts with the official remake of the Euro pop classic ‘Rasputin’ by Bonny M, titled I’ll Do the Talking Tonight. The original is a pop track fit for its era(released first in 1978) however Pritam has reprised the song as a completely techno version of the former. It brings out a range of singers in the form of Aditi Singh Sharma, Shefali Alvaris and Barbie Amod, where Neeraj Sridhar's leads this crazy singing bandwagon with his style of Indi-pop singing. It's'remix' version is vigorously boisterous in haughty drumming and slick DJ antics, a well crafted grooving version in a typical'club-disco' to enthrall disco fanatics on the dance floor.
Nandini Shrikar of ‘Bhare Naina’ fame enters next with the much talked about mujra number Dil Mera Muft Ka. The song is definitely not old school Mujra but has a fresh and unique touch to it. The vocals are enthralling; all credit goes to Nandini Shrikar’s vocals and Pritam’s composition.
Raabta(Siyaah Raatein) is a melodious track from the album. Sung by Arijit and Joy, Amitabh Bhattacharya also penned quite interesting & intriguing lyrics for this one. The song is a lovable melody that is quintessentially romantic in mood and comes out in varied singing talents.
If you thought the original was not poignant enough for your taste change over to the Night In A Motel version of the same track which gives you an unplugged feel and beyond doubt will swirl up your romantic side. There’s also a solo male version with Arijit Singh, which is equally striking.
Dedicated to all you Shreya Ghosal fans, Pritam has included a Shreya Ghosal version of the song ‘Raabta’in the album.
Next up is the comical number Pungi with Mika Singh on the vocals. The lyrics are hilariously amusing penned down by none other than Amitabh Bhattacharya. This is one of those tracks which will be a rage with the youth.
Agent Vinod Theme is next on the album. Probably this one would be heard more than any other song in the film as it is incessantly played throughout the movie, thus building up the suspense and anxiety.
On the whole the album oozes with zest and vigor and is a perfect match for an action packed spy thriller like Agent Vinod. Hopefully, akin to the music of the film, Agent Vinod will definitely rake in moolah.
