Accra

S been a pleasant surprise. Good roads, well behaved traffic and decently safe to move around. Accra is not the usual African city. You could mistake it for an east European city. Kotoka international airport is the gateway to Africa. There is a lot of air traffic here since Ghana usually is peaceful and tourists to Africa use Ghana as the entry point. The city is a mix of poor and rich with a huge gap in the income levels. The area near the airport is good with some nice hotels and apartments. The city skyline though is hardly anything. The houses are usually villa type and are single storeyed. The city is also developed with its share of medium sized shopping malls, good restaurants and pubs. There is also a fair bit of night life. Oso is one place you can find a lot of good stuff to shop and hang out. One troubling sight though is the road side vendors at the traffic signals. Also there is the usual bribery and corruption. Overall a decent place and if you are not on a tight budget you can have some fun here.
