Funds recovery
Apr 10, 2022 10:01 AM 374 Views (via Mobile)

I have invested with some scam brokers in the past, and the story is as horrific as the ones i have read because i went through the ordeal myself. I lost almost $80, 000 USD to this unfortunate brokers, a friend referred me to Mr Jackson Evans that got me 80% of my money back, plus my accrued bonuses. Please stay clear of these scammers and if you have lost money you can still get your money back if you really want to, you can reach out to Jackson Evans at: {jacksonevans384 (@) gmail.com}. he will definitely help you in getting back your lost funds to any broker….. as mine was recovered too.

Worst customer service ever!
Feb 19, 2019 06:00 AM 2000 Views

ABN AMRO is the worst bank I have ever encountered. I asked to have my debit card replaced and delivered on four different occasions but still they are incapable of doing so. They are able to send me letters informing me that their service fees have gone up but they aren't able to send me my debit card. ABN AMRO representatives are very incompetent. They are indifferent about the customer's satisfaction and their services should be avoided at all cost. There is no urgency in any of their actions and do not care about international people whatsoever. Do not use this bank!

The worst bank.
Feb 17, 2014 08:14 AM 16202 Views

My company has forced me to open an account with this rat hole bank, upon which I opened one.

-The internet banking - Does not work.

-The telephone banking - Does not exist.

-Customer service- Customer. What?

-Monthly statement: Pay 200 rupees per month

You could argue:

According to RBI directive, banks must provide a passbook for the SB account, irrespective of which bank you are. They don't care and they don't follow.

ABN AMRO not much use for Indian users
Feb 12, 2013 07:13 PM 6822 Views

I used ABN AMRO for two years, they have very few branches and very few ATMs in India. But that is not a bing issue, except when you have to travel to the branch which like 30 kilometers away in city.

Bad thing is, no payment gateway provides option of paying with ABN AMRO (now RBS).

I was never able to buy or pay bill or book irctc ticket using ABN AMRO net banking because that option is not available. So I closed the account and opened account with ICICI. I am satisfied with ICICI.

Amsterdam Netherlands
Charged to be tortured: one star is too many
Dec 10, 2012 10:56 PM 7371 Views

I thought I'd gotten used to bad/non-existant customer service living in Denmark.  I've now moved to Amsterdam and the level of service I've gotten from the bank I was trying to use, ABN AMRO, is some of the worst I've ever seen.  AND I'm being charged for being tortured.

I opened my account at ABN AMRO because I was told it's where you if you are an expat, they are the only ones with english internet banking, full service in English.  Which is really important when you've just arrived in a new country.  You need to function.

When my debit card and PIN arrived, non of the accompanying information was in English.  So when I tried to open the PIN, I wound up removing the ink where the PIN was, because I didn't understand the directions for opening.  The only thing I could find to do was to call a customer service number-for which I would be charged 10 cents a minute.  (This is common practice in the Netherlands it seems, utilities and Vodafone do the same thing.  It's like'just send us money and leave us alone.  We are not about service.'  Lovely culture.  :)

So I once I pay to get information about what to do next from someone on the phone, I am told that

1) It will take another week to get me a replacement card and PIN.  There is NOTHING that can be done to sort out the matter sooner.

2) In addition to having to wait, I will have to pay 7.50 Euros.  Even though I expressly opened this account because information would be sent to me in English-and it wasn't.  And this was what caused the  mixup.

I've had bank accounts in a number of countries.  The US has the best service, but even in Denmark, I would only be charged for a new card if I wanted it RUSHED, sent overnight.  To not even OFFER expedited service and then to charge for sad, pathetic service is just adding insult to injury.

I asked what would happen if my handbag was stolen, if I needed a replacement in such a case.  I was told so many people have so many stories, they don't know who to believe, so they charge everyone!  Basically ABN AMRO thinks most of its customers are liars and are trying to rip the bank off.  So it punishes everyone!  Amazing.

The good news is this happened before I'd arranged any direct deposits or transferred any money from abroad.  Lesson learned. I will look around for alternative banking arrangements.  And it may just be that it makes more sense to keep money abroad!  Single-country-banking solutions are archaic, particularly in a country this size.  There isn't enough competition.

Faulty ATM machines at RBS
Jul 16, 2012 11:06 PM 6763 Views

Their ATM machines are faulty and one needs to be very careful. I tried dispensing Rs15000 cash from their Banjara Hills branch, but ATM gave Rs 12000 only. My account got debited with Rs 15000 cash. I complained them, they did some investigation atleast thatz what they said to me on my written complain. I was 100% I got 3000 less from ATM and I counted the same time and also told their staff. But everyone in bank staff told me to write a complain.

This bank has lot the trust of their valued customers and don't bother to care for them. Its matter of time that this bank will get erased from India. In fact, with such malpractices they will lose in other countries also

Whom can I contact to investigate this poor service?

Heavy Penalty for No Reason & Cheating of Customer
Mar 15, 2012 05:55 AM 15007 Views

ABN AMRO is a CHEAT. They charged me with a 500+ rs Penalty on my Salary Account and while as an employee only in ABN itself.

When I asked for reversal, they said our transactions are locked, we can reverse only for 3 months.

ABN AMRO puts unreasonable charges on customers which are hidden in their 2000 Sentence Rule book. I am taking them to Court and will wait for justiece

They blocked my online password so I could not withdraw my money also.

Difficult at first but smooth road ahead
Sep 27, 2010 10:29 PM 17715 Views

I am using services of ABN now RBS for over 3 years, it has surpast my expectation of where my money being secure, clear and systematic structure is in place and with lesser than competition push from management ( New a/c and investment), I find it difficult to believe that there can be any misuse of the system, the customer care is useful – so much so that it has been 3 years and I have had to visit only 2 times for other requirements. Once my Net-banking became available it has become incredibly easy to pay and use for services we want.

Overall a great system ( with limitation of low count of ATM’s ) which takes some time to get use to and understand, but once you know the process, everything becomes easy.

Void and Error transaction in ATM
Sep 11, 2010 01:42 AM 17327 Views

I had a very bad experience while, I was withdrawing Rs.1000 from ABN(Now RBS) ATM. It dispensed only Rs.500 but, Rs.1000 was deducted from my account.

When I complained to the bank, after 1 month and lot of followup, I received the reply that from their side, that transaction was successfully completed so, there wont be any credit to my account.

it was pathetic and bank was not ready to listen customer's view.

I never saw, such an irresponsible reply and un professional behavior from any bank.

Even after lot of followup and call, no body from bank took the pain to talk to the customer and satisfy with their reply, which was not at all satisfactory.

I am having corporate accounts in RBS, so I have a constraint otherwise, I would have opted out.

Moreover, I have seen , since, RBS has taken over ABN AMRo, such type of complaints are coming very frequently and no body is there to look into it.

I have talked to my collegue, they told me that , such type of occurances happend in the past also with them.

so, it is the fault of the atm machine and customer is paying his hard earned money to them for nohting.

Most of the time, I have seen the ATM machine , desn't work properly.

Customer care people changes the complaint details
Jun 13, 2010 01:51 PM 14879 Views

I have cards with all the leading banks and my payments details are very prompt and I have excellent credit score history.

I was forced to renew the policy from Reliance General Insurance company through this card. I didnt receive the policy documents months after the policy renewal date whereas EMIs started as usual. Then I clearly indicated to the bank that I did not receive the policy documents and I will not pay even a single paisa till I receive the policy documents. You don't believe I have renewed the policy in the month of January 2010 and till date I have not received the policy documents and getting the statements from ABN AMRO Bank(Now is it RBS) month after month.

I requested the bank to cancel the policy and stop the billing many times. All the times they were giving me the complaint number and nothing is done when I enquire bout the status of the complaint number, the complaint purpose was changing and they are closing the complaint as per their own decision.

ABN AMRO Bank(Now RBS - I dont know why RBS has purchased this sort of Bank) is the worst bank and Reliance General Insurance company is the worst Insurance company in the universe.....

My sincere request to all the others is not to take any policy from Reliance General Insurance Company and please discontinue using ABN AMRO Bank Credit Cards.....

Best Regards,

Get billed, though you don't use the card!!!
Jun 12, 2010 02:18 AM 7282 Views

ABN Amro. one the the leading names in Banking industry!

Sadly, one of the most unprofessional and unethical bank to bank with!

I have been using Citibank credit card for the past 5 years and a year and a half back, I received a call from ABN Amro to apply for its Credit Card. I applied only looking at the Bank's name and its record of being known as a very nice brand around the world.

I applied and was granted the most basic credit card with a decent Credit Limit with in a month. I had swiped for some 3 transactions in the first month totaling to around Rs. 3500. But I received a shock in form of the statement for the first month! The total amount due was Rs. 7800!

Initially, I wondered if I was dreaming. But no. it was the beginning. Beginning of a nightmare! I called up the phone banking which was a pathetic link of electronic web, which took me a good 20 min. before I could reach out to a human(or should I say in-human?). The so called human took the complaint and provided me with a complaint number and also, tried to console me saying that it was a mistake from the marketing end and promised that the excess of Rs. 4300 would be canceled, by the time I would receive my next bill.

I paid Rs. 3500 by the due date and never used the card during my second month. I had made myself clear not to use the card till I receive the next statement with Rs.0 as total amount due. But. when I received my second bill, the total balance had gone up from Rs. 4300(the excess amount) to Rs. 5700 which included charges for not making the entire payment!

Crazy folks! I had to call up the phone banking again, but this time, the in-human who spoke to me insisted that I had to pay it and that my complaint was dis-honored! I had to apply a half day leave to my office, rush to the branch at Residency road, use foul language to get some one'help' me. Seems like, the card business was "not the thing, what the branch would look into"!

However, I was asked to provide a written complaint at the branch by a so called "good Samaritan" who could "understand what I was going through".

Luckily, the complaint was honored after some 3 months! But, I know the pain I underwent every time I received a bigger bill for the next 2 months. Once, I received a bill with the total balance due with Rs. 0, I requested the card to be canceled.

My sincere request to every one reading this review - Don't bank with ABN Amro!

Poor service at ABN Amro Bank now called RBS
Apr 16, 2010 11:48 AM 6757 Views

I have saving account with ABN Amro Bank, now its called Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) for last 5 years. Many times I visited Hauz Khas branch Delhi to get services like selling/buying of MF, joint account, change address, etc The service at the RBS, Hauz Khas branch is pathetic. Noida branch. Still better. They have kept cute faces at Hauz Khas branch who are sweet poison. They will talk as if your work will be done. But many times, I had to follow up with them to get my work done. These guys had persuaded me to buy Aviva Save Guard, after investing 36, 000 with them I sold it at a LOSS of 13, 000/-.

Never buy ULIP and or any investment instrument which has no transparency. Recently , I had asked them to sell all of the MF holding. They sold few of them but they did not give me information which all they sold. After following with them, I found some it has window in which you can sell. After three attempt I was able to sell HDFC-infra MF. They get it done by third party which I learnt. Now I want to convert one MF from re-invest to growth. Two times , I have given the written application. Its not done uptil now. God knows when it will be done. Never invest in dividend re-invest as they have same year of locking period. Its a infinite cycle. Address change, it was done in two attempt of written application. Online, trying several times. It did not work. God knows, why it did not change with online request.

Avoid this ABN Amro Bank (Now called RBS), especially hauz khas branch. Hope with RBS take over they will improve.

Extremely frustrated customer - shocking service!!
Jan 22, 2010 06:17 PM 6864 Views

I am absolutely disgusted with the level of service offered by ABN AMRO bank.

I am right now so overwhelmed to express my horror with this bank but dont know where to start.

I am a customer service manager and have managed domestic and international clients. I am therefore able to base my judgement on what is the level of service one can expect dealing with banks, insurance companies, etc. who are governed by a financial regulatory body and not just the basic consumer laws.

I have been subjected to such levels of torture, I can write a book on it. However, I will state the poins briefly so you can make an informed decision before you go with this bank given the choice.

  1. Call their customer services number - USELESS! Every query I have called them with, they have re- directed me to their bank branch.

  2. ALAS! There is only one branch in Bangalore on Residency road. Who cares what the dimension of Bangalore city is and wherever the heck you live!

  3. You go to the bank, they dont have a token system. You have to state your query in full to the person at the reception. She will give you a slip and direct you to a counter.

  4. The Bank exec at the counter doesnt give a damn you are seated and waiting to be heard. They will go on and on over the phone mumbling away other customer's details. Well done! Who cares about DPA?

And then you have to repeat the whole story at the counter when you get your chance.(Mind you - I am not relating a single experience here - This is every time I have visited them)

  1. They do not resolve your query on the spot. They will ask you to send you grevience in writing and post it. Well, someone's going the extra mile giving business to GPO and making life hell for the customer . Hmm, I was exaggerating - you can drop your query in their drop box too or email them(never tried that though - so I cannot comment if they read them at all)

  2. So, if you are being a tough customer at the bank and not giving up, then they will make false promises and send you away anyway with an acceptable response - Their way of saying, "Get the hell out of here"

  3. You then call the bank to follow up on the promise they made - The bank branch in Bangalore, they almost never ans your calls irrespective of the time in the day. If the receptionist does ans the call, she will transfer it to a desk which will keep ringing till eternity. I know since I have been to the bank many times that the receptionist can clearly see if anyone is seated at the counter they are transfering. When you call back to say no one ans the phone, they will tell you there is no one at the desk and to call back. And HELL! when you call again they will recognise your number on the display and not answer the phone at all. BINGO - I think my office number has gone on their "DO NOT ANSWER" list, lol.

  4. They do not call customers to give any sort of intimation before and after any action is being taken on the account(by post, email or by phone) - SHOCKING!

  5. They have a collection agency in Delhi(now, dont think I am a bad payer - I know them because of the nature of mistakes made on my account by ABN). This team is one hell of a collections team - They harass you so much so that they called me on my day of wedding and inspite of telling them not to call for this reason, they kept their rigour on throughout the day. Well, my family(who were answering/ignoring the calls on my wedding day) and their friends will never go with ABN AMRO, I SWEAR!

There is another side to the story of what will happen if you take a personal loan with them apart from the service aspect of it. I will cover that another time when I have the mind to.

I believe as a customer you have the potential to make or break the reputation of a company. I am heard coz you are reading this review. Please feel free to pass this on to all you know that are exploring financial partnership with the right bank.

Guwahati India
Rude CCE, Less ATMS and a LOUSY Bank
Jan 12, 2010 05:34 PM 6245 Views

I have a salary ccount with ABN AMRO which was lying unused for a long time as I had left the company I was working with. To be frank I was not in a god financial condition to continue using it. Now that my business was growing and funds started to come in, I wanted to restart the account. I was earlier using ICICI and standard chartered bank as they had the widest network in India.

I am now based in Guwahati. I knew that the account was inactive and I wanted to transfer funds to the account as I thought this would be my nice and secret savings which I will not touch.

So, I called the phone banking and asked whether I could transfer funds by online banking to the account to make it active. The gentlman on the phone gave me a "shoo away kind of attitude" reminding me of the balance in the account, which was low. His approach was half hearted, though he gave me the ways to start the account, I had to ask for every details myself.

That point of time I really felt very low myself. It gave me an impression that ABN AMRO encourages its customer executives not to service normal users. I had my account empty with Standard Chartered for a very long time but they never treated me differently, that's why now I have a hefty amount in there now.

I guess they do not understand the concept of prospect customer. I was very disheartened by his attitude and even before I could complete my question he disconnected the call.

I swear I will never bank with ABN AMRO in my life again.

Best part is they are one of the underperforming banks in India. No wide network, Less ATMs etc.

ABN AMRO IS THE WORST BANK EVER!!
Dec 05, 2009 03:47 AM 7281 Views

I had to take time out from my schedule to write reviews about the worst bank and thats ABN AMRO.I have a account with them by force(corportae reasons)! and I have not had a single good experience with them.

Their process SUC*S! in caps! For eg: if you want to add an a/c to transfer funds, they have ga zillion steps to go thru and at the end, they would send you a mail saying its not possible. Their PHONE service is an even bigger waste of time. Their representative have no clue what they are saying. If you are away from the country and need to banking work done-just forget it! They are conventional and there is no way you can get anything done online or by phone. They always need your home address for giving out even the simplest details and they send you snail mails which reach you million months later - hopefully ypou are still alive!

I have never had such experience with any of the other banks. I hate to be associated with ABN AMRO.I am wiating to close my a/c and get out of their super sad services. however I am bound because of various reasons.

PLEASE DO NOT EVER OPEN YOUR A/C WITH THIS BANK.THERE ARE MILLION BANKS OUT THERE WHO DO A MUCH BETTER JOB. I wonder how this bank is not closing down with such sad customer service . I hope they do soon!

A very frustrated customer.

Bank of Cheaters
Nov 03, 2009 03:49 PM 6132 Views

ABN AMRO Bank is a blood suck*ng bank. I personally had horrible experience with this #$#$#$ Bank. I had a credit card issued from this bank, I literally paid off all that was due with this bank and thought that all is over. Unfortunately it wasn't.

And after 5 months I got call asking for payment of 8ooo/- !!!!! Soon I realised that the last final payment for this card that I had done was done little late then the date scheduled and hence they started charging me interest upon interest (wickedly not letting me know by calling, or sending letter) and whooosssh after 5 months presented a statement of Rs 8000/- interest on the late charge amount of Rs 1200! I have now paid this ba#$%td bank all that they had asked for and also closed my credit card account with this %$%$% bank. Our national banks are really better then these foreign banks, initially they are good and quick in providing cash but once done they become monsters in disguise!

Don't Trust this Bank
Nov 03, 2009 12:32 PM 6528 Views

This bank beleives in the policy of stealing your money with void transactions. rest assured, everytime you swipe your debit card at any Merchant Outlet, it will first ensure you get a server error and on retrial, it will debit the same amount twice. My first instance was with a Rs 3000 transaction for which I got debited for an amount of Rs 6000/-. After going through their usual harrowing process of Customer care, Corporate Account Manager(I have a salary account here) and Customer care MANAGER, I had to fight tooth and nail, give ultimatums and what not to get my money back.

. and they repeated the same story in exactly 4 days time. another double debit of Rs 2000/-(Rs 4000 in actual).

And for an explanation they say, there must be something wrong with the Merchant outlet(different ones in both the cases), the Mastercard server(whoever gives that excuse, or my card(as if I generated it. ut nothing wrong with the bank. And they need 45 days to recredit my account.

What gives them such unique confidence to function in such an unprofessional manner?

And this was the last straw in my unique list of problems I faced with this bank in the whole of last one year. Customer care, Net Banking, Password reset, OTP etc. etc. etc.

I have decided to park all my money in some other account as soon as my salary gets credited as I DEFINITELY DON"T TRUST ABN AMRO!
