I haven’t seen ‘1971”, but have heard much about this movie, it stars the very talented Manoj Bajpai and much ‘notorious”Mr.Ravi Kishan, the Bhojpuri mega star. Many war movies have been made in India on Indo-Pakistan wars , but it looks like very well researched, it wasn’t given much publicity like many other Manoj Bajpai movies, but still has got good reviews.
Its album has 9 tracks, three of them are instrumental-
1.Bhangra pauna…by Kailash Kher. Its a Punjabi Bhangra track truly in a bonfire style, its common in army doing Bhangra or other regional dances around a bonfire.Kailash Kher is a good choice for such raw song.
2.Sehelenge hum…by Shibani Kashyap. Its also a truly “Shibani Kashyap” song as Shibani has a particular kind of style of singing songs in some kind of opera way, I am not sure if she is very talented because I haven’t heard any other pattern of song from her, she should refrain from singing in a particular fashion.
3.Sajaana…by Harshdeep. Its an excellent song although the mood remains same of separation as in such movies. Its also sung in folk song kind of style.
4.Kal ke antim palon tak…by Shibani Kashyap, Harshdeep and Kailash Kher. Its a anthem kind of song, its good enough and very inspiring.
Good God, how could a album these days complete without remixes, so there’s it Bhangra Paun remix…it somehow looks more enjoyable than the original version , may be due to beats.Another remix is…Sajaana Arabian sunrise remix…sounds like some kind of MTR upma or dhokla remix!
7.Prelude to the snow….is instrumental.Truly captures the serenity of hills when snow covers them. Its a silent kind of dark beauty when dusk sets in.
8.Honour the heroes(Theme of 1971)…is also instrumental. This track is also good capturing the essence of saluting the heroes of 1971 and their sacrifice to our nation.I am so proud of them.
9.Main Title...Instrumental.
All in all , Akash Sagar has given a befitting music for our war heroes. Thanks for reading my review.
