The ink tank level indicator and the options of printing at optimal preferences is just ideal. Ink saving mode and presentation modes add to the joy of printing.

The cost is another factor at just a bit over Rs.3000/- its a steal and that too for print quality that's almost photographic 1200X1200 dots per inch.WOW!

The ink cartridge is approx Rs.1300 for black and about 1500 for color. Needs some thinking here, but then its very ideal for home use and gives exceptional printouts.

Good performance.

A couple years ago when needing a new printer because the one I got with the compaq computer kept jamming my mom was sweet enough to buy me a LExmark Z12 from QVC very cheaply and it does do the job but that is all. It is easy to use and makes nice prints but goes through ink so fast I can't believe it. You only can use one cartridge at a time so I always just get color but it is used up so quickly and you pay sometimes almost as much for the ink as the printer cost. I have tried the refil ink but with no luck. Just remember that sometimes cheap is not always the best way to go to save. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you have a way of getting ink cheaply because it will cost you more in the long run. When investing in another printer I will be sure to real more in detail about how long the ink lasts and what quality of prints it makes. I love to make cards but with the way it eats up ink I have had to cut way back on that. Diane Hurd

I received this printer as a Christmas gift this past year and I love it. It is easy to use and the ink cartridges are very easy to reill. I know most manufactures do not want you to use remanufactured cartridges in there printers but it has not harmed my printer in any way using them and it saves a ton of money. This printer prints pictures great. I wish they had not discontinued this printer because when this one dies I would love to buy another one. I would recommend this printer to anyone who needs a high quailty low mantance printer

HELP! HELP! I was enjoying the Z12 until I accidentally uninstalled the printer. And for three weeks I have searched for the material and the installation disk. Only in vain. Please assist me in purchasing an installation disk or advise me of another direction to search for a disk.

PLEASE HELP ME...I purchased the Z12 around April of this year and I cannot stress the use and the accuracy of the equipment. My entire family uses it on a regular basis.

We got more than what we paid. And we are happy. I suggest it to all of my friends and family. My second regret is that we only purchased one instead of two.

THANK YOU,

Bennie Joyce Williams

We decided that we wanted a new printer when our Cannon BJC-1000 started smudging ink on the paper just 6 months after we got it, so we took it back and searched online for something about the same price about £50.

We settled on the Lexmark Z12 having seen it on QVC and ordered from Jungle, it arrived in a box, with no cable, but we had one anyway and instruction book and a colour cartridge.

I set it up and then couldn't find the installation disk, oops there it is, in a pocket in the back of the manual.

Once installed we decided to see what the print was like using the Calendar that is included on the installation disk - WOW!!! Compared with the Cannon the Black was really Black and the colours were really Vibrant.

The ink cartridges are quite expensive , around £27.00 for Black and £30.00 for colour, and we have found that they don’t refill properly with the home refill kits, but we have found that Dixons, and other stores have started to do the re-conditioned “own brand” alternatives for around £18.00 each.

We tend to leave paper in the machine as it takes up to about 100 sheets of normal paper, 10 envelopes or sheets of card. The paper support will fold down to enable you to use Banner or continuous sheets.

The onscreen ''Control Programme'' means that you can set up the printer with a new cartridge without having to mess about. From the control programme you can also set up for sorting your document so that the colour cartridge will only print the colour pages and you can then change to the black cartridge for the ''Text'' pages. Although I haven't tried this yet I am sure that it will help when I need to do projects or assignments for College.

There is an annoying voice that tells you when the printing is starting and finishing and also tells you if there is a problem during printing. Great if you have gone to make a brew, as you have an audible warning that there is a problem and don't come back 5 minutes later to find that there is a problem, when the printing should have finished. (You can turn the voice off in the control panel though.)

All in all - the Lexmark Z12 will never compete with some of the more expensive Ink Jets, but is better than many of it's peers. You get what you pay for.

One of the easiest to use !

Lexmark Z12 model is easily one of the most uncomplicated printers I have come across in a long while.

Buying a printer is one thing, but installing it and having it up and running smoothly is another.

As any HP printer user will complain..this Lexmark has solved the problem of buying printer cables by supplying one in the box. It comes with its own cable (wake up HP) and installation is a breeze. WINDOWS ME recognised the printer in a jiffy and the CD is so simple to use and install. The ink tank level indicator and the options of printing at optimal preferences is just ideal. Ink saving mode and presentation modes add to the joy of printing.

The cost is another factor at just a bit over Rs.3000/- its a steal and that too for print quality thats almost photographic 1200X1200 dots per inch..WOW !

The ink cartridge is approx Rs.1300 for black and about 1500 for colour..needs some thinking here, but then its very ideal for home use and gives exceptional printouts.

For the SOHO user, I would recommend the Z42 or the Z52 which are dual cartridge printers..but thats another story.

I just recently purchased my first printer after using a cast-off dot matrix that belonged to my mother. What impresses me about this printer was it's ease of setting up and simple to follow directions.

Another factor in purchasing it was it's price, $69.95 Canadian which is quite reasonable for a colour jetprinter. It has a pop up window that during your printer shows your ink level and what page your printer is on.

It also tells you when printing has started or stopped and if you are running low on ink or paper. I would recommend this printer to anyone looking to buy a printer for the first time.
