New Delhi: In what would be akin to doomsday for all chocoholics, experts have predicted that the world will officially run out of chocolate on October 2, 2020. As per a report in the Daily Star, the ever-expanding global demand coupled with the decrease in cocoa plantation is the reason behind the impending doom. Farmers in cocoa producing nations are increasingly switching to rubber as it gives better yields. However, given the huge increase in demand for chocolate and the lack of space and forestry - 2.3 globes are needed to fulfil the demand – there is no solution to the problem. But the seven years to 2020 would also be difficult for the chocolate lover as prices are set to shoot given the progressive decline in supply. Global cocoa supplies are already tight amid fears o a decline in supply from West Africa. Also, as in the case of oil, a rise in demand from growing Asia will further push up the demand for the already scarce bean. Clearly, chocolate as we know it may not last long. It will be replaced by more of the crunchy variety where there’s less of chocolate and more of assorted fillings like raisins and wafers. The pleasure of biting into a bar of pure chocolate...ummm! Dismayed that family members are spread out over the house, each with a separate PC or tablet? Lenovo has something it believes will get them back together: a PC the size of a coffee table that works like a gigantic tablet and lets four people use it at once. Lenovo Group Ltd., one of the world's largest PC makers, is calling the IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC the first "interpersonal computer" - as opposed to a "personal computer." At first glance, it looks like a regular all-in-one machine in the vein of the iMac: It's a 27-inch screen with the innards of a Windows 8 computer built into it, and it can stand up on a table. But you can pick it up off the table, unhook the power cord and lay it flat for games of "Monopoly." It's big enough to fit four people around it, and the screen can respond to ten fingers touching it at the same time. As a tablet, it's a monstrosity. The screen is the size of eight iPads stitched together, and it weighs 15 pounds. It's almost as homebound as a flat-panel TV. The Table PC will include plastic "strikers" for "Air Hockey," and joysticks that attach to the screen with suction cups for other games, including multiplayer shooter "Raiding Company." In a demonstration at the International CES on Sunday, photos and videos could be rotated with fingers. Spreading five fingers at once on the screen cleared the screen of clutter, while squeezing them together brought the photos and videos back. Lenovo, a Chinese company that owns IBM Corp.'s former PC business, said the Table PC will go on sale this summer starting at $1,699. Microsoft Corp. pioneered the idea of a table PC with the Surface, a PC with a 30-inch touch-sensitive screen released in 2008. It was designed for store displays and other commercial applications. The concept is now called PixelSense, as Microsoft started using the "Surface" name for an unrelated tablet computer last year. More recently, Sony Corp. released the Tap 20, an all-in-one PC that can also be laid flat. But it's smaller than the Lenovo model, at 20 inches diagonally, and doesn't have as much table-oriented software as the Table PC. Disclaimer : Taken From Net Sources ! Read More

Big stars w... Why superstar Rajinikanth is on a hunger strike !! Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has joined a hunger strike, led by a cross section of artists from the Tamil film and television industry. Big stars who joined the day-long protest include superstars Vijay, Sarathkumar, Radhika and Suhasini. They want artists, directors and choreographers to be exempt from paying service tax. The cess of 12.36 per cent, they argue, should not apply because the service tax on the entertainment industry was partly lifted a few years ago exempting producers, exhibitors and distributors. Now the industry wants this to be extended to artists, directors and choreographers too. The president of the actors association Mr Sarathkumar told NDTV, "the industry has thousands of smaller artists besides leading stars. Not all get offers throughout the year and they are overburdened. Unlike other industries we can't even pass it on to consumers as theatre collection comes under state government". Also Read this - Controversial Statement made by Politicians on Women: http://www.mouthshut.com/blog/ifebosnlnm/Recent-controversial-statements-made-by-politicians-on-women All film shoots for today have been cancelled. Theatres across the state will remain closed till evening. Night shows, however, will still be played. Actors, directors, producers, distributors, technicians and theatre owners also a part of the strike. Referring to the 2014 general elections, Radha Ravi said: “Only if the government meets our demand now, they can meet us one-and-half-years later.” “There is a common perception that film actors are affluent and lead a well-off life but that may not be the case. There have been times when many companies involved in showbiz industry end up paying Rs.60 crore to Rs.70 crore when the entire turnover is Rs. 25 crore,” R. Sarathkumar, president of South Indian Film Artistes Association, told NDTV 24X7. “It is also difficult for small artists to pay because once you enter into an agreement, irrespective of whether the film or the serial is completed, you have to pay the service tax. Our demand is just like producers, exhibitors and theatre-owners, why not the entire industry be exempted from service tax,” he added. Disclaimer : Taken From Net Sources !

APOCALYPSE RUMORS HAVE DARK SIDE, NASA WARNS

NASA scientists took time on Wednesday (Nov. 28) to soothe 2012 doomsday fears, warning against the dark side of Mayan apocalypse rumors -- frightened children and suicidal teens who truly fear the world may come to an end Dec. 21. These fears are based on misinterpretations of the Mayan calendar. On the 21st, the date of the winter solstice, a calendar cycle called the 13th b'ak'tun comes to an end. Although Maya scholars agree that the ancient Maya would not have seen this day as apocalyptic, rumors have spread that a cosmic event may end life on Earth on that day. Thus NASA's involvement. The space agency maintains a 2012 information page debunking popular Mayan apocalypse rumors, such as the idea that a rogue planet will hit Earth on Dec. 21, killing everyone. (In fact, astronomers are quite good at detecting near-Earth objects, and any wandering planet scheduled to collide with Earth in three weeks would be the brightest object in the sky behind the sun and moon by now.) "There is no true issue here," David Morrison, an astrobiologist at NASA Ames Research Center, said during a NASA Google+ Hangout event today (Nov. 28). "This is just a manufactured fantasy." (End of the World? ) Real-world consequences ! Unfortunately, Morrison said, the fantasy has real-life consequences. As one of NASA's prominent speakers on 2012 doomsday myths, Morrison said, he receives many emails and letters from worried citizens, particularly young people. Some say they can't eat, or are too worried to sleep, Morrison said. Others say they're suicidal. SPECIAL WIDE ANGLE: 'Mayan Doomsday' Is NOT The Apocalypse : HOWSTUFFWORKS VIDEO: ANCIENT MAYAN RELIGION "While this is a joke to some people and a mystery to others, there is a core of people who are truly concerned," he said. Not every 2012 apocalypse believer thinks the world will end on Dec. 21. Some, inspired by New Age philosophies, expect a day of universal peace and spiritual transformation. But it's impressionable kids who have NASA officials worried. "I think it's evil for people to propagate rumors on the Internet to frighten children," Morrison said. Myths and misconceptions : NASA scientists took questions via social media in the hour-long video chat, debunking doomsday myths from the rogue planet Nibiru to the danger of killer solar flares. ANALYSIS: Mayan Calendar Discovery Confirms 2012 'End Date' In fact, said NASA heliophysicist Lika Guhathakurta, it's true that the sun is currently in an active phase of its cycle, meaning electromagnetic energy has picked up. Large solar flares can impact electronics and navigation systems on Earth, but satellites monitoring the sun give plenty of warning and allow officials to compensate for the extra electromagnetic activity when it hits our atmosphere. What's more, Guhathakurta said, this particular solar maximum is the "wimpiest" in some time — scientists have no reason to expect solar storms beyond what our planet has weathered in the past. One popular rumor that the planet will undergo a complete blackout from Dec. 23 to 25 earned a "What?" and blank looks from the panel of scientists. Ultimately, concerns about Earth's fate would be better focused on slow-acting problems such as climate change rather than some sort of cosmic catastrophe, said Andrew Fraknoi, an astronomer at Foothill College in California. Mitzi Adams, a heliophysicist at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, agreed. "The greatest threat to Earth in 2012, at the end of this year and in the future, is just from the human race itself," Adams said. How to Secure Password

It is absurdly easy to get hacked. Chances are most people will get hacked at some point in their lifetime. The best they can do is delay the inevitable by avoiding suspicious links, even from friends, and manage their passwords. How do you come... It is absurdly easy to get hacked. Chances are most people will get hacked at some point in their lifetime. The best they can do is delay the inevitable by avoiding suspicious links, even from friends, and manage their passwords. How do you come up with different, hard-to-crackpasswords for every website and still remember them all? Here are some tips from Jeremiah Grossman, chief technology officer at WhiteHat Security, and Paul Kocher, who runs Cryptography Research.
  • Forget the dictionary : If your password can be found in a dictionary, you might as well not have one. Hackers will often test passwords from a dictionary or aggregated from breaches. If your password is not in that set, hackers will typically move on.
  • One site one password : While cracking into someone's professional profile on LinkedIn might not have dire consequences, hackers will use that password to crack into, say, e-mail , bank or brokerage account where more valuable data is stored.
  • Come up with passphrase : The longer your password, the longer it will take to crack. A password should ideally be 14 characters or more in length if you want to make it uncrackable by an attacker in less than 24 hours. Consider a passphrase, such as a favorite movie quote, song lyric, or poem, and string together only the first one or two letters of each word in the sentence.
  • Just jam on keyboard : For sensitive accounts, Grossman says he will randomly jam on his keyboard, intermittently hitting the Shift and Alt keys, and copy the result into a text file which he stores on an encrypted, password-protected USB drive. "That way, if someone puts a gun to my head and demands to know my password, I can honestly say I don't know it."
  • Store passwords securely : Do not store your passwords in your in-box or on your desktop. If malware infects your computer , you're toast. Grossman stores his password file on an encrypted USB drive for which he has a long, complex password that he has memorized. He keeps password hints, not the actual passwords, on a scrap of paper in his wallet.
  • Ignore security questions : There is a limited set of answers to questions like "What is your favorite colour?" Hackers use that information to reset your password and take control of your account. So, enter a password hint that has nothing to do with the question itself.
  • Use different browsers : Grossman says, "Pick one browser for 'promiscuous' browsing: online forums, news sites, blogs — anything you don't consider important. When you're online banking or checking e-mail , fire up a secondary web browser, then shut it down." That way, if your browser catches an infection when you accidentally stumble on an x-rated site, your bank account is not necessarily compromised.

The end of 2012, and maybe the end of life as we know it, is coming up in less than a month; so this is the perfect time to look back at the year and reflect on the best it had to offer. The screen size is 12.5-inches with a 1366×768 resolution and also uses Gorilla Glass like the Acer Aspire A7. Price: $1,149.99 6. Lenovo Yoga This laptop is actually one of the unique new concepts inspired by Microsoft’s new touch-friendly OS, Windows 8. While some new ultrabooks can lay flat after opening 180 degrees, the Yoga can double that feat and, essentially, flip inside out and making it a Windows 8 tablet. It comes in the 13.3-inch variety with a 1600×900 resolution IPS screen, up to 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of SSD storage, and dual-core Intel i7 processor. It is quite a heavy ultrabook starting at 3.4 lbs, and a little chunky as a tablet but a unique design nonetheless. Price: $999 starting price 7. Alienware M17x This is one of the few laptops on the list that will not be running Windows 8 upon arrival, and that is because it is a classic gaming laptop, where Windows 8 is lacking in support at the moment. It may not be the lightest or most portable laptop on the list either but this machine can surely pack a punch when fully loaded. If you’re a hardcore PC gamer and wanted to load this laptop up, you could choose to have up to 32 GB of RAM, an Intel quad-core i7 processor for 3.8GHz speeds, a 1TB of SSD storage, 17.3-inch 1920x1080p screen, Blu-Ray enabled optical drive, and a 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680M for peak graphics performance. How to lose weight without dieting

While there are plenty of fad diets that may help you lose weight, they also leave you feeling hungry and food-deprived. For all those who don't have the time or inclination to undertake a crash diet or even hit the gym, we've got some great news. If you want to slim down the healthy and painless way, try the following strategies. After all, it's not what you eat but how you eat. CHEW MORE, EAT LESS Studies show that the longer time you spend chewing, the lesser calories you consume. Chewing for longer prevents over-eating, by giving the brain more time to receive signals from the stomach that it is full. It is not only great for digesting, but it also helps in limiting your portion size. Try chewing your food 35 to 50 times per mouthful. DON'T SKIP BREAKFAST No matter how late you are running to work, avoid missing breakfast. There is a reason why it is called the most important meal of the day. Your body (rather your brain) expects to be refueled a few times each day, so when you skip breakfast, you feel so hungry that when lunch time comes, you overeat or maybe choose foods items that are not the healthiest choices. Missing breakfast slows down your metabolism. More importantly, always eat your breakfast, within an hour of waking up, as your body has gone without food the entire night. CONCENTRATE ON YOUR FOOD How many times has your mother reprimanded you to not talk, read or watch TV while eating food? Not without a reason. When you are multitasking during meal times, your brain isn't focussing on the amount of food that you are consuming and you are more prone to piling on pounds. This doesn't mean that you cannot enjoy a meal with your friends. You can do so, but just pay attention to what you are putting in your mouth! Also Read ...... Want to lose weight? Check out these 12 Foods that cut FAT- http://bit.ly/Foods-that-cut-FAT Unable to do savings? Check out tips to save money - http://bit.ly/Tips-to-Save-Money DON'T OVERCOOK YOUR MEALS Overcooking food kills or reduces the number of nutrients your meal contains, and when you don't get enough nutrients, you don't feel satisfied and soon start to get junk food cravings. To combat this, try eating more raw foods like sushi and salads. Steam, bake, blanch or grill vegetables and grill or bake meat and fish. Avoid microwaving. FRUITS BEFORE MEALS It is advisable to eat fruits at least 30 minutes before any heavy meal. This way, the fruits will digest quickly. Eating fruits on an empty stomach detoxifies your system and supplies you with a great deal of energy for losing weight. HAVE SMALLER MEALS, MORE OFTEN Ideally, you should eat five to six times per day, with a two to three hour break between each meal or snack. Eating more frequently gets your metabolism going and keeps it working at an elevated level continuously throughout the day. But don't use this rule as an excuse to overeat. AVOID EATING AFTER 8 PM It's good to eat your last meal before eight in the evening. This way you don't land up binging on a snack before dinner time. If you find it hard to resist, have some herbal tea or brush your teeth after dinner immediately to switch your mind off from the idea of eating. THINK AND DRINK While everyone knows it's necessary to drink at least eight to 10 glasses of water, very few know when one should consume it. When you drink is as important as what you drink. If you drink water in-between meals, the liquid slows down digestion, diluting the acid in your stomach and so the nutrients from the food that you eat are not well absorbed. To avoid this try to drink water 15 minutes before or after a meal, and if you really need to drink while you eat, limit yourself to small sips only. GET WALKING Move your butt and hit the pavement. Invest in a pedometer to monitor your footfall. Am to gradually add more steps until you reach 10,000 per day. Remember you don’t have to have a gym membership to feel the burn. Do whatever you can to be more active, pace while you talk on the phone, march in place during television commercials and take the stairs where ever you go. Taking your dog for a walk for 20 minutes five times a week could even shift a pound a day. Discalimer : Taken From Various Net Sources Just To Share with U all :)) Read More

Foods that cut FAT !

Here are 12 foods that can help you lose w... Ayurveda suggests you include all tastes — sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent — in at least one meal each day, to help balance unnatural cravings. Here are 12 foods that can help you lose weight and gain health:
  • Turmeric :
Curcumin, the active component of turmeric, is an object of research owing to its properties that suggest they may help to turn off certain genes that cause scarring and enlargement of the heart. Regular intake may help reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or bad cholesterol and high blood pressure, increase blood circulation and prevent blood clotting, helping to prevent heart attack.
  • Cardamom :
This is a thermogenic herb that increases metabolism and helps burn body fat. Cardamom is considered one of the best digestive aids and is believed to soothe the digestive system and help the body process other foods more efficiently.
  • Chillies :
Foods containing chillies are said to be as foods that burn fat. Chillies contain capsaicin that helps in increasing the metabolism. Capsaicin is a thermogenic food, so it causes the body to burn calories for 20 minutes after you eat the chillies.
  • Curry leaves :
Incorporating curry leaves into your daily diet can help you lose weight. These leaves flush out fat and toxins, reducing fat deposits that are stored in the body, as well as reducing bad cholesterol levels. If you are overweight, incorporate eight to 10 curry leaves into your diet daily. Chop them finely and mix them into a drink, or sprinkle them over a meal.
  • Garlic :
An effective fat-burning food, garlic contains the sulphur compound allicin which has anti-bacterial effects and helps reduce cholesterol and unhealthy fats.
  • Mustard oil :
This has low saturated fat compared to other cooking oils. It has fatty acid, oleic acid, erucic acid and linoleic acid. It contains antioxidants, essential vitamins and reduces cholesterol, which is good for the heart.
  • Cabbage :
Raw or cooked cabbage inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Hence, it is of great value in weight reduction.
  • Moong dal :
The bean sprouts are rich in Vitamin A, B, C and E and many minerals, such as calcium, iron and potassium. It is recommended as a food replacement in many slimming programmes, as it has a very low fat content. It is a rich source of protein and fibre, which helps lower blood cholesterol level. The high fibre content yields complex carbohydrates, which aid digestion, are effective in stabilising blood sugar and prevent its rapid rise after meal consumption.
  • Honey :
It is a home remedy for obesity. It mobilises the extra fat deposits in the body allowing it to be utilised as energy for normal functions. One should start with about 10 grams or a tablespoon, taken with hot water early in the morning.
  • Buttermilk :
It is the somewhat sour, residual fluid that is left after butter is churned. The probiotic food contains just 2.2 grams of fat and about 99 calories, as compared to whole milk that contains 8.9 grams fat and 157 calories. Regular intake provides the body with all essential nutrients and does not add fats and calories to the body. It is thus helpful in weight loss.
  • Millets :
Fibre-rich foods such as millets - jowar, bajra, ragi, etc - absorb cholesterol and help increase the secretion of the bile that emulsifies fats. Cinnamon and cloves: Used extensively in Indian cooking, the spices have been found to improve the function of insulin and to lower glucose, total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides in people with type 2 diabetes. Tips For Guaranteed Weight Loss

With fad diets and fitness routines round every corner, it is quite difficult to keep a tab on which weight loss tips really do work and which don't. Should you join that bhangra aerobics class, adopt that no-carb diet, or eat dinner at 6pm? Never mind all that loophole-ridden weight loss jargon, step over to the healthy side. Here are 10 tips for guaranteed weight loss that will set your weight straight, and help you adopt some really healthy, weight-friendly habits for life. 1.Decide how much weight you need to lose Most people start their weight loss journey by claiming to be xyz kilos overweight. This isn't a healthy way to project or aim for weight loss. Calculate your desired weight against your height by using reliable methods like the BMI, and set a healthy weight loss target. This is often half the battle won. 2.Time management This is quite often overlooked. Decide which part of your day will be dedicated to exercise, when in the week you will stock up on groceries, and when you will do the cooking - all within your current work and home life routine. If you don't do this now, your days will be rushed and unplanned, and you won't be able to sustain your weight loss efforts. 3.Stock your kitchen Keep your house well-stocked with fruits, vegetables, healthy meats, grains, cereals, spices, and flavourers. Follow our tricks to healthy cooking, cooking vegetables for the week, and low-fat cooking posts to understand how best you can stock your kitchen with healthy and delicious ingredients. All of this will go into helping the next step - cooking healthy meals at home. 4.Eat healthy homecooked meals Whether it's you who's cooking, a family member, or house help, ensure that every one practises healthy cooking methods, and ingredients. Ask any person who's lost weight the healthy way, and you will always hear about how healthy homecooked meals were a big reason behind it. Use less oil, low salt, fresh produce, and you'll start seeing results in no time. 5.Start a cardio + weights workout A healthy weight loss programme is incomplete without a good exercise routine, and weight training mixed with cardio is the best way to lose weight. Of course, variations and forms exist, but any workout that stresses on muscle tone and increased heart rate will always help you lose weight and keep it off. You can either start a home workout today, or rely on gyms for fitness training. 6.Alter your snacking habits At Health Me Up, we have several healthy snacking ideas for you. Set those French fries aside, skip that aerated drink, and ban those unhealthy deep fried samosas. Explore the healthy snack world and you will find several appetisers, party snacks, movie snacks and meal accompaniments that'll satisfy every craving of yours. 7.Have at least one active hobby It isn't sufficient to rely on just 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity per day. Moving from bed to office chair, and back to bed, isn't a healthy way to live. Buy a motion sensor gaming console that lets you enjoy social games with friends and family, plan weekend trips, clean your house once a week, dance, play sports, the list is endless. Get out of the coffee shop and dining table rut, and you'll have fun along with the healthy weight loss. 8.Find a solution to combat stress As we pointed out in our post about stress and weight loss, stress is always detrimental to healthy weight loss in the long run.
