Best features under 7k. M using xolo brand since Aug 2013 no issue with my phome yet therefore I bought xolo A500s this time.


Earlier I was using xolo A500 but now I bought again xolo brand A500s.Absolutely includes the best features from other brands under 7k.


BEWARE the non-existent Service!!! Read on!

  1. I bought a White Xolo A500S mobile phone through Amazon.in on 10 Apr 14, at a cost of Rs 5710.00. In mid July 14, I observed very high vibrations of the phone when not in use. The same was handed over to the nearest Authorised Service Centre listed on Xolo website, F1 Info Solutions & Services P Ltd, Mumbai, on 31 Jul 14 and was promised delivery in 2 weeks, at an estimate of Rs 650, citing some moisture ingress, being monsoon season.




  2. After 2 weeks, when queried, I was told that the phone had been sent to the workshop at Noida on 04 Aug 14 and it would be received in 2 weeks. The next time when queried, it was intimated that a new phone had been received in lieu and the cost was Rs 6500! I had not been contacted or any concurrence taken for such a replacement, nor was I informed at any stage that repairs were not feasible. Again, I was promised that my phone would be recalled from Noida and could be collected by early Sep 14. However, despite three more visits to the Service Centre, I am informed that the same phone cannot be returned as it is not available now! I fail to understand the same. Some Mr Bhukta is quoted as the zonal in-charge, but the number intimated is never answered, and sms to the number have also not been responded to. Even after 50 days, neither has my phone been repaired nor returned, with no trace as on date nor any accountability or proper response from the Authorised "Service(?!) Centre".




  3. In this context, I have emailed the top level and the customer service of Lava International.in for the following:-(a) Inform me reasons for such gross neglect and substandard service.






(b) Provide me my phone handset(battery and bac case with me, as also endorsed on WO) in the same condition as in which it was received for repairs(scratchless, only 3 months old and sparingly used) before 30 Sep 14.


(c) In case of inability due to neglect to return me the same handset, a fresh handset of the same model be provided as replacement, at no extra cost to me, the anomaly being accountable to Xolo.




  1. In case I do not receive a proper and satisfactory response and the handset in one week from today(23 Sep 14), I have informed Xolo/ Lava that I shall approach the Consumer Forum at any location convenient to me, for redressal, to claim not only a fresh replacement, but also compensations towards all legal and other administrative expenses, inconvenience and mental harassment due to sub-standard service and neglect of customer service after sales.




Now, do you really want me to list down any features of this "cheap and packed smart Phone"? Can you be 100% sure it will have no defects ever? And if it does, would you want to have bought ANY Xolo phone(never mind World Cup Football sponsorships, different plane et al!) and gone through similar trauma for nothing! And to think this was a birthday gift I bought for my wife, based on popular feedback/ reviews!


If you ask me, the reco is simple. STAY AWAY from Anything that starts with Xolo or Lava! What more can I say, than jaanam samjha karo:)

Pros:


1 > Almost all features, 3G, Dual Camera, Dual Sim etc


2 > Android Jelly Bean S/W.


3 > Sleek n Slim Design.


4 > Very Low Cost compared to other mobiles offering same features.


5 > Camera is good in day light else bad.


Cons:


1 > Only one Service Center in India. Forget for 2 to 3 weeks if device sent to service center.


2 > Most of Gaming Applications from Play Store will get installed but you not able to run. especially games using high Memory and Storage.


3 > Sound reception is bit low.


Overall a good product, but check other better competitive products before buying it.

Never Buy A Xolo Product

I submitted my Xolo A500S to the service centre at Malad, Mumbai on 1st April 2014. The handset had charging problems and had to be sent to the head office at Noida. The phone reached Noida head office on 9th April. This was the first delay from the service centre. After a lot of followup there was no update on the repairs. On 22nd April 2014 I called Xolo Care and they said the handset is under repairs.


I spoke to supervisor Amandeep and he refused to give any details of the phone repairs. On 25th April when I called Xolo care again I was informed that the handset was repaired on 21st April and was dispatched to Mumbai on 22nd April. Today


on 26th April when I came to the Service Centre at Malad, Mumbai, I received the handset with the Touch screen damaged. I again called Xolo care and they are taking no responsibility for the same and asked me to resubmit the handset to the service centre and after checking they will confirm for delivery and I will have to wait for another month for the same.


The service centre is also not taking any responsibility as they are shutting down. I then spoke to the owner of the service centre who changed the Touch screen which would not work either. As the service centre was closing down, I took the handset and submitted it at the Borivali, Mumbai centre on 28th April, 2014.They told me they will replace the Touch screen and kept the handset for 10 days.


After 10 days I got a call stating the handset is repaired. When I reached the service centre on 7th May 2014, I found that they did not repair the handset and only flashed the software. I had to resubmit the handset again and was promised that it will be repaired in 2-3 days. On 10th May I went to the service centre again and was informed that the display is not working now and the phone needs to be sent to Noida again for repairs.


Since then the phone is at the Head Office at Noida and is not being repaired. Whenever I call the service centre, nobody answers the call. When I call Xolo care, they say the handset is in repair and they cannot give a TAT or provide replacement handset. Its been 2 months since I submitted the handset to Xolo and my warranty is wasted for 2 months.


They are not ready to extend the warranty. The phone's battery is with me and unused since 2 months which may lead to non-functionality of the battery. Xolo is not taking any responsibility for the same.


Kindly help as I am helpless and I cannot take any action as no one is taking any responsibility.
