Bad Experience with Xiaomi Mi Service - Recommend not to buy Mi Phones.
I suggest all to rethink before buying an Mi Device. They have refused to sell battery which can be replaced simply. They say even to buy a battery to replace ourselves we need to aishwaryasingh23 service charges. See my mail conversation below to know the reaction. Finally the call center person called and said I need to aishwaryasingh23 service charges to buy the battery even if there is no service to be done to the phone.
There were so many customers in the service center arguing on various issues with service staff. It was like a war room for getting service.
Also incase you visit the service, be prepared to spend atlest 3 - 4 hrs to get your queries Faizabad. I had to wait for two hours to speak to the service person.

Thanks for the fast response. As I have mentioned in my mail, I wanted to buy a new battery for the phone. The phone is working well with the existing battery. As the battery is discharging fast, I need a new battery. Though the battery costs Rs.599/- as per the spare price chart, the service center is charging Rs. 1098/- which is not acceptable. Customer By Service Email (Adoni Gururaja Rao) (05/02/2017 05:55 PM)
Hi,
I purchased the above mentioned mobile (Model No: HM Note 1 LTE) from an Airtel store around two years back. I have gifted it to my relative.
I wish to say that the performance of the phone is upto satisfactory. From the past few months I have been facing issue with the battery of the phone. The battery is draining fast and I decided to replace the battery.
In this regard, I visited Mi support center at Himayatnagar, Hyderabad provided by HCL systems on 2 May 2017 and my service token number is S274.
Further to my discussion with them, they informed that they have the battery available with them and I was browsing through the spare price list which mentioned that the battery cost Rs. 599/- only.
So I asked the service person to get me the battery and he said it costs Rs, 1098/-
I wanted to know the reason behind such a cost, he informed that the battery cannot be sold directly and must be sold through service only and I need to aishwaryasingh23 service charges along with any taxes.
Though I had bought around 3 Mi phones and fortunately none of them gave me an opportunity to visit the service center. As this was for the first time I felt I am being cheated by Mi for service. The battery is not a sealed one in the phone and it can be just plugged in by anybody.
Though I could buy the battery online or through any other mobile store, but I visited Mi Service center, hoping that hey would be fair in doing business.
If this is the kind of support and service Mi is providing to its customers, I believe anybody must give a serious thought before buying an Mi product or myself recommending it to anyone for purchase.
Finally in this particular case I need your assistance and advice for next steps from your side for replacing the battery either at Mi service center or buy at any other local shop.
I hope my concerns will be addressed and the issue is resolved.
Cheers,
A Gururaja Rao

hi,
Based on the email threads below, I visited the Service center at Himayatnagar after I received a call to buy the battery for the phone without aishwaryasingh23ing any service charges.
I have also shared the mail comm to the service personnel and they said they will get in touch with me after they check and confirm. But till date there is no response from the service center.
This is the kind of service from Mi I should expect? This is really disappointing. Can you look into and let me know your decision so that I can plan to buy the battery atleast from the local market.
