Spice QT 66 Reviews

The reason I have rated this phone as 4 stars is that I wonder if there exists some other phone that offers so many goodies at the cost of just Rs 5000. Spice QT 66 is a multi feature mobile phone. It's bag of goodies include Dual SIM (GSM - GSM), Dual Memory card (TFlash - both upto 8GB), Qwerty key pad ( very effective while writing SMSes or typing in urls), FM antennae on mobile phone, EDGE support, 2 MPcamera ( that is still decent), USB and bluetooth connectivity

I have been using it from the past 5 months and let me tell you typing urls, SMSes has been very easy, fast and comfortable. The keys are specially designed to protrude in a manner that reduces typing errors.

It supports java 2 MIDP profile, you can install any jars designed for Nokia 6680.Dual SIM functionality works nicely, while operating on master sim you can send messages and access internet through the secondary SIM. Switching sims is a little odd as you need to shut down the phone and manually switch them.

The FM works ok, you do not need the hands-free extension for antennae as mobile handset has its own antennae that needs to be stretched out to get its best quality.

Mobile operating memory is little limited u cannot run one application while working on another - no multiple processing ( that requires an OS). If u feel that the mobile internal storage is limited, the mobile has dual TFlash memory card support that has 8 GB each as max, so you can pop in lot of songs and pics.Has a decent phone book and sms storage support and so works well. You can customise the various application etc to use the memory card for storing and accessing data, so that is not a problem. The memory card slots are placed below the battery . If u need to take out the memory card, you need to switch off the phone first, which is a litle odd. I did not have the right software to play wmv and mp4 videos in the mobile so cannot comment on that.

Supports Vibrate, Ring and Hybrid mode. The Ring volume can be adjusted. Mp3 ringtones are supported. Havent tried much with ring tones

Has a unique feature which allows you to time your phone to switch off at a particular time and wake up at some other time. this helps a lot in saving battery when u are on long journeys.

It is available in only one color that is orange black which is kind a sad.

Has edge support but lacks 3G. Wi Fi works well with WEP and open Wi fi mode, I could not get the WPA 2 mode to work with my comp system though.

Supports Blue tooth and USB connectivity. The USB connectivity is also the charging point for the phone ie u cannot connect to usb and charge simultaneously.

A sad part about the phone is its computer connectivity software. It really sucks. I wasnt able to use it for my phone and there is no online support from Spice for the same.
