Provoking phone I ever had
Dec 15, 2017 09:36 AM 986 Views (via Android App)

I am glad to give my personal experience on using this phone, Though I has a good look and a bit useful for your friendly use, But the main problems since I have used is, I changed its charging socket twice which was very much disappointment for me after a use of just 10 months and the next issue is hanging problem. Whenever I tried to search or type to find something it almost gets stuck which feels like throwing this phone, I think it must have a good RAM and a good PROCESSER which going to avoid this problem.

Well I bought this phone in second hand condition only almost the first person has used two years and later I used for almost 2 years

After 2 years of observation I would say the originals parts are originals once you are done with originals parts then never go for all that china stuff because they aint give gaurantee.

And it can be damaged at anytime I end up changing 4 times display, charging socket  and many more but overall the phone is awesome with qwerty keypad with no lagging.Till the time I have used I enjoyed it completely and even I have now new phone but I miss my e72

Nokia E72 equivalent to Nokia E5 Review.
Nov 01, 2013 04:34 PM 2586 Views

Now this is the review where I would tell you about how I screwed up over 15000 Rupees. Although this review is quiet late for this Nokia product since the manufacturing of this smart phone( as mentioned by the manufacturer is stopped and its equivalent version of Nokia E5 is presently in the market. I have been using this stupid phone for more then two years now.

The only thing which is keeping this phone with me is that I don't want to buy costly mobile till I am fully convinced about the product. I purchased the phone thinking that its from Nokia and Nokia has been the ruler in the Indian market since long time. After purchasing the phone I had very tough time dealing with this instrument.

The only reason nokia was ahead was that it was fast in introducing new models in the market and that time people knew very less about the technologies. But now see how Samsung has thrown Nokia from the race. Nokia may be good in cheaper mobiles but when it comes to smart phone, it is one of the worst manufacturer.

The various issues I faced with my Nokia smart phone is within a very short time, its speaker went off.

I could hardly hear the other guy talking untill I switched on loudspeaker. I hope all Nokia smart phone will be aware of this statement "Memory full! please close some application and try again", even I am till date suffering with this issue of nokia. Even if you are browsing some web page, you will get this nonsense message and your browser will automatically close.

There have been times when I was booking an urgent ticket standing on the road and this smart phone has betrayed me. Nokia, as a company is an idiot in manufacturing smart phone. The operating system called Symbian seems to be meant for some 55 to 70 years old men. If you are a young fellow then forget that this Symbian will be able to stand to your speed of operating. I sincerely recommend not to buy any Nokia smart phone.

After buying you will be left with two option. One is to praise it in front of others because you have spent so much of money and you don't want to show your self foolish in front of your friend and to yourself and the option will be to curse yourself every day on your decision of purchasing this nonsense useless model. Go for Samsung and you will be far more happier.

Forgot to mention my calling to the Nokia Customer care. After calling I told them about'memory full, close some application and try again' issue; he happily advised me to do a hard reset and your mobile will be as good as new. After doing a hard reset and loosing all my older settings, the phone worked well for 5 days and again that stupid message "memory full. please screw Nokia CEO and try again" started coming. Hopeless mobile!

E72: High on promise, low on delivery
Nov 22, 2011 04:06 PM 5105 Views

Nokia doesn't seem to get over the entry level and beginner's handsets they've been manufactoring. E72 model they came up with is supposed to be a corporate phone with useful office features and solid performance. It passes first but fails second miserably on second.

What I liked:

  1. Range of useful features - Quick office, MS Outlook access, camera, media player, personal email manager, contacts & appointment synchronization, chat etc.

  2. 3G support - Internet works blazing fast

  3. GPS - The car GPS kit works wonders

Where it fails:

  1. My battery is almost exhausted in less than a year - is this normal?

  2. Poor performance - the phone just hangs for no reason. I restart it everyday atleast once to keep it on. The image gallery takes a while to open.

  3. Delicate USB port - the USB wire port broke 4 times and Nokia service center charges Rs. 800/- to replace it - Nokia warrenty? It has broken 5th time now and I am not going to repair it, I'll simply dump it.

I am not sure if everyone had similar issues or my specific piece was problematic but my suggestion will be to stay away from Nokia when it comes to sophisticated handsets as I have read several complaints against them in consumer forum.

Avoid E72
Jul 14, 2011 12:13 PM 5085 Views

I bought this phone a few months ago and I want to discard it now. Slow response when you try to quickly type or look for something in the phone. Everything else is good including maps, e-mail, 3G etc but when the response if poor, you feel like throwing the phone.

Hanging is another issue. This phone needs more RAM and a better processor. My suggestion is to AVOID this phone and go for Andriod (Samsung or HTC).

Great phone but with glitches
May 11, 2011 05:18 PM 5582 Views

This is a great phone when it comes to features. I use the in-built internet telephony on it to make international calls through the 3G network. Sometimes download torrents on it directly. It has a host of applications for communication, downloads, personalization etc. You name it, you got it.

The ONLY problem: Hangs a lot. It needs a reset every day or other day else will hang and would then need to be reset anyway

100% dissatisfied and returned the phone!
Apr 22, 2011 01:38 PM 4466 Views

At last, I have returned the phone to Nokia and bought Sony Ericsson XPeria Mini Pro.

30th August:

After visiting a heavy weight web site got memory full error and got restarted!

28th August:

Often getting service message which is not possible to stop, I tried disabling both Service Message and Call Summary, no respite. I did not get this message in my previous phones like SE Naite.

29th July:

I have configured both gmail and corporate mails

Even sent items are coming in my gmail's inbox!

Corporate mails I have forwarded never reached

Email is utter flop! typing is something so erratic and incomplete!!

Often themes getting changed automatically without AutoProfile running or enabled!!!

15th July:

Email application is utter flop! it some times pulls new mail and the next time you open your mail box it is gone! only other old mails are there!! But I am able to see all my mails in web mail interface!!!

I have updated the latest firmware also!!!

10th July:

Once I was working, been asked to update software and chose Nokia EMail ... got the the message update failed. Then I did not receive any email in GMAIL box. I deleted and I recreated the same ... got the emails ... shocking is Send & Receive option completely disappeared! What is happening ... only GOD knows ...

Nokia's software update is always erratic.

Nokia E(rratic) 72!

6th July:

While opening mail (GMAIL) which contains few lines of text it shuts the mail box takes me to home screen getting loading message in homescreen ... no keys are working hence I need shutdown and restart!

Such a crap piece is this!!!

26th June 2011:

Often mail box is closed

Often browser is closed

Software update is erratic

Sometime video is not shown only able to hear audio. The same video is played later!!!

Typing is slow!

Activating different profiles at timed interval is one of the awesome options! I switch to office profile between 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM and switch to Personal rest of the time using AutoProfiles! Thumbs up Nokia!!

9th June 2011:

While I search, the phone hung, hence I shutdown and restarted! Strange the font size is decreased automatically. Again I shutdown and restart, this time the font size increased a lot!! I heve never used this kind of phone!!!

7th June 2011:

Today I got yet another issue, font size is automatically decreased as I needed to restart my phone. Again once I restart the phone through Font Magnifier the problem got fixed!

6th June 2011:

Email client is erratic! certain mails are not received!

21st May 2011:

The broswer seems very outdated, not opening certain links and closes the browser itself!

13th May 2011:

My cell phone restarted once automatically and shutdown twice while playing music and while it was idle!

28th April 2011:

Try browsing https://sonyericsson.com , I got memory full error! Even after removing all the applications!!

Stephen Elop announced all feature nokia phones will be based MicroSoft platform rather than Symbian. Those want to buy high end business phones don't go for Nokia wait & watch. Once Nokia announced the tie up their shares dropped drastically as there is no much takers for microsoft mobile platform.

My latest experience:(25th April)

Excellent customer support! I got whatever I want ... I got a dedicated customer support manager assigned to attend whatever problem I have!! (Seems nokia is king in this dept. really appreciate nokia)

The keypad is replaced without any charge

Upgraded to firmware 54 ... now the display looks pretty good ... and sound also seems good

Setting up mail is just like that!

Timed profile helps me a lot (I switch office profile between 10.00 am and 7.00 pm) ... cool feature

Chat on the go just like that

Homescreen applications, application shortcuts, notifications are nice additions

View/Edit office documents on the go! hmmm I like it

View PDF on the go

But the above features are limited as the screen size is small

Optival navi key is erratic!!! if web page has too many links it fails hover around all the links!!! I need to use scroll bars in navi key

Browser seems very outdated ... web feeds looks horrible! (My Sony Ericsson Naite renders web feed pretty nicely)

More updates soon.

I have bought Nokia E72 white edition for 16, 700 at Nokia Priority store yesterday(21st April)

The moment I switch it on after I insert sim card I got the message: Memory is full! Stphen Elop are you listening what a sub-standard product?!

I have noticed keypad on the left side is badly aligned ... keys are located so closely so while typing be careful(I think no one can beat BlackBerry in this department) ... Hi Stephen Elop why don't you copy this from BB for the good sake of better user experience?!

Optical navikey is too hard to operate

It is very very very compact!

Excellent network both 2G and 3G at great speeds (I think no one can beat Nokia in this department, that is why I bought nokia)

Sound quality is poor

Video quality is poor

Display area is too small ... unwanted space at the bottom of the keypad could have been used in dipslay section to display more content

Ear phone provided produced flat sound! horrible to hear music!

Software update is utter flop! both from the device or through Software updater it always I have the latest but nokia's web site says latest is 54 but I have only 52! Stephen Elop are you listening!

Sometime it restarts automatically!

It comes whith white pouch and strap

This would be my last nokia phone!

Don't buy this phone ... go for BB or Sony Ericsson

Memory not on par with the phone
Mar 13, 2011 05:27 PM 3924 Views

I am pretty confused what type of review to write for this phone.

I am very happy with the design/style, the call reception, and durablity but I am pissed off about the way the phone hangs at times. I also get this memory full message very ofter. I had to reset the phone to free the memory on the c drive.

There is also no way to save the emails on the memory card. If u have multiple email account the memory goes full in no time.

But if u have a way to get around the memory issue, I think its a great phone. I have dropped it a hundred time and it still works fine

I had a horrible experience with Nokia E72. The phone's display stopped working after 6 months. I took it to Nokia care. They said it's a case of physical damaged and asked me to pay Rs 3000 for the repair. I have filed a complain on conumercomplain forum.

The phone's internet browser is unstable. You have to clear cache frequently otherwise it fails to connect to internet.

Just another "Business" phone
Dec 10, 2010 11:36 AM 3681 Views

I purchased E72 last month from Nokia priority store in Mumbai. The cost was 16, 500/-. While I liked the design, quality of reception, battery life and other features that are available in other basic devices, what turned me off was the very poor mail support. Setting up the device to receive gmail was a big issue, and even after multiple trips to the nokia center, it is not yet been possible. For a device that touts itself for it business features, this comes as a major disappointment.

The online nokia forums are filled complaints similar to what I faced most of them have not been resolved. This goes to show the poor service provided by Nokia. The online site of nokia email itself has stopped working as of now. I am not sure when will I be able to resove the issues, and worst I am left to fend for myself.

Though phone is mentioned to support flash, its only supports flashlite. The latest version of flash software is not supported.

Apart from this, there are not major issues. The browser supplied with the phone is not as good, however I have downloaded the Opera browser that makes browsing a pleasure. Currently I am forced to check my mails here itself. Apps are bit lesser in number than what I expected.

I would like to advice those who are considering this phone for its email messaging features to considered BB instead. Though I havent owned one myself, I have heard good reviews of its features.

But E72 and keep going to service center
Oct 19, 2010 08:08 PM 3740 Views

In the last 10 months I have been to service center 6 times and I have reset the phone to factory settings twice.  Battery, head phone are already replaced.  Charger section of the cell has been repaired. Now display is not working. Call center executes say that software should be flashed once after 10 months. This is ridiculous. Their service center does not provide a stand by phone also, one has to fight to get one. While someone buys a phone like E72 that means he might be a very busy man and he might be using for lot of business activities.

In my case it has gone to the extent that I should have a stand-by phone of my own to use E72. I am now planning to fight it out with NOKIA to get my money back.

Pluses and minuses of Nokia E72
Jul 27, 2010 09:56 PM 5716 Views

I wanted to upgrade from my N73. I considered only Nokia and Blackberry as I wanted a business phone this time around. My main requirements were QWERTY keypad, GPS and design. I looked at Nokia touchscreens like 5800 5230, 5233, X6 and business phones like E71, E72 and E52 and Blackberry Bold, Tour and Curve 8520.

After reading a lot of reviews on the net and talking to my friends, I decided that touchscreens were not for me. I am not very careful with my cell and I have young children at home. I was advised against touchscreens and they are delicate and once you damage a touchscreen, its replacement is almost as much as the price of a new phone. Second factor which swayed my decision in favor of the traditional key pads was that typing mails is not very convenient on the touchscreen - at least for me.

The second decision I faced was Nokia or Blackberry. While Blackberry is the leader in the business phone space, my experience with some 10 Noki as before was the clincher for me. I have heard great experiences people have with Blackberries and how easy it is to set up mail on corporate accounts with them. My friends also recommended the Blackberry OS software in the phones, which is said to be superior to Nokia's Symbian based OS in terms of ease of use and user friendliness.

However, feature to feature Blackberries are priced at least 5 to 8 K more than the Nokia phones. Plus, blackberry service costs extra on networks while Nokia messaging is offered free for lifetime.SimilarlyGPS/map support is chargeable on Blackberry while free on Nokia. So as a package, Nokia has considerably sweetened the deal over the Blackberry.

So I went and bought myself a new Nokia E72. I preferred it over the e71 due to a faster processor and better camera. Price difference was also some 3K which was not much. I chose the black model over the golden one due to personal choice. Even the golden colour is good looking.

After over a month of use, I can summarize my experience on the following points.

Pluses1. Nice robust design, feels solid in the hand with steel edging and battery cover.2. Familar user interface. For anyone who has used Nokia, the learning curve is pretty easy. Most things are where you expect them to be. Navigation is predictable and intuitive. It doesn't hang whatever you may throw at it. Though it is too familiar now and looks dated when compared to others like HTC, Blackberry and is decidedly poor when compared to Apple.3. Great camera. Picture processing is fast specially when I compare it to my N73.4. setting up email is very easy. just input the userid and passwd, and the wizard does the rest. Email interface is also familar with resemblance to PC based clients like Outlook.5. Wifi connectivity is fast and easy. Accessing the net is childsplay with shortcuts to facebook, youtube and myspace built in. There is a feature which lets you access Internet radio. Its really entertaining, you can access virtually thousands of online radio channels from around the world. Particularly useful if you are interested in international music which most Indian FM channels dont play.6. GPS service is quick. Most of the time, the GPS signal is picked up within 1-2 minutes and positioning is fairly accurate. Map support and navigation is really amazing. I never expected the local maps and navigation to be this accurate. You can fix the phone on the car dash board or windscreen with the included car holder to serve as a regular GPS navigator.7. There is an included 8 GB memory card which you can use to store music, photos, maps and documents. Most office documents are editable on the phone. I have not tried it though. Nokie offers Ovi music service through the Ovi music store to compete with Apple's Itunes. Itunes is older so has a more comprehensive collecttion. Specially the podcasts feature is a differentiator.8. Basic PC sync setup and use is easy with either the free Nokia PC suite or Ovi suite (Loaded on the memory card). PC connectivity either through the USB or bluetooth is a breeze.9. Screen is bright and displays both pictures and text well. It holds itself well in sunlight also.10. Sound quality in both calls and while playing music is super. 3.5 mm audio jack is convenient to attach your own headset. The included headset is also nice with good all round frequency response. Loudspeaker is at the back. Quality is good but the volume is low.11. Call and standby time is very good. I can run the phone without charging for three days with a constant data connection and 20 to 25 calls per day. The included battery is huge.

Minuses1. Build though solid is your run off the mill standard. Nothing flashy. Blackberries are better looking.2. The OS does the job but appears dated when you compare it to other devices.3. Screen resolution could have been better for the price.e.g Powerpoint files display is too small for use the device as a prompter in a presentation. Similarly, GPS maps are not viewable when the phone is on the windscreen or dashboard of the car.4. PC sync though easy to setup becomes frustrating if you are doing complicated things like syncing huge amounts of data/music or updating maps. Advice: use USB for such tasks. Bluetooth is very slow.5. Quality of the included leather pouch and screenguard is bad. The inner lining of the pouch and the screen guard came off within 15 days of light use.6. Keys are placed too close for comfortable fast typing. Here too Blackberry score. they have better keypads.7. Vibrator and loudspeaker are weak. You can easily miss calls in a noisy environment.8. Internet browser is barebones.

Recommendation: Highly recommended if you are comfortable with a slightly less flashy business handset. Robust build and design, strong feature set with Nokia reliability and minor minuses make this a winner. All in all a value for money deal by a good margin.

Alternatives: In this price range - none. If you are ready to up your budget by 10K, I would recommend the blackberry bold 2. But you dont get much extra in terms of features apart from perhaps a better experience and better image. Or I would recommend to go the little extra to buy the Apple iphone - not for anything else but the ultimate sexy design and cult status.

Excellent Business Phone
Jul 18, 2010 05:54 PM 3365 Views

I have purchased this phone around Two months back. I am using this phone to check my official mails. I get an average 60-80 mails in a day. Its never hanged while sending and receiving mails or chatting with friends or colleagues.

The speaker quality is not that great, but its good. I have also installed Nimbus Software for chatting and also use Skype extensively. Camera, QWERTY Key Pad, WiFi, etc... are excellent.

I haven't faced any issues so far. The battery life is too good. I get a lot of calls and I used to charge once in Three Days. Excellent Voice Clarity, Slim and good battery backup and lot of other features.

I am very much happy with the product.

Best i have ever used
Jun 21, 2010 03:49 PM 3620 Views

The Nokia E72 is a smartphone from the Nokia Eseries range. It is the successor to the Nokia E71and is based on a similar design and form factor, and offers a similar feature set. The Nokia E72 is an enterprise-based smartphone (as it is a Nokia Eseries device) and has standard features including mobile email, calendar and instant messaging amongst many others. An official statement from Nokia on January 19th 2010, stated that Elias Skafi, a 29 year old footballer had produced the design for the E71 and the E72.

The Nokia E72 has a new Optical Navi Key feature as opposed to the standard D-pad used on many other Nokia devices including theNokia E71- this is said to improve the ease of scrolling through menus, emails, Internet browser, and images as it is an optical sensor rather than a series of closely-spaced buttons. In comparison to its predecessor, the Nokia E72 is said to have a higher level of performance (likely due to the faster 600MHzARMprocessor) and also includes a 5 Megapixel AF camera. Other changes and improvements are software-based including changes to the user interface and built-in messaging application among others.

It is the best I have ever use seriously.
