HMD Global introduced the new Nokia 8.1 smartphone, which the company calls an affordable flagship with an advanced camera and display. An important feature of the device is the use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 10 nm chip, which includes 2 powerful Kryo 360 cores in conjunction with 6 energy efficient ones, as well as Adreno 616 graphics, an AI engine, a Hexagon 685 signal processor and a Spectra 250 image processor. Qualcomm aptX audio codec responds aside.
The manufacturer tried to give the device the appearance of the flagship: it uses the case of the 6000-series aluminum, which passed the two-ton anodizing of aluminum, a 2.5D display. Fortunately or unfortunately, the trend of on-screen cutouts has not bypassed this device. With dimensions of 154.8 × 75.76 × 7.97 mm, the smartphone weighs 180 grams. Unlike many modern devices, a 3.5 mm jack is saved here.

Frontal 20-megapixel camera with support for intelligent portrait mode promises quality bokeh effect. There is support for popular animated 3D characters and masks, as well as a variety of filters for photos and videos that can be posted on social networks directly from the camera application. The new smartphone uses a 3500 mAh battery and supports high-speed charging via the USB-C interface. HMD promises that Nokia 8.1 will work two days without recharging with five hours of active use per day(games, streaming video, photos, and calls). There is support for Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS, GLONASS and Beidou, 802.11 b / g / n / ac and LTE.
