Hi all,
I am a new, rather 3 week old owner of a nokia 6670.
Some of my history on my phones
I have been using cell phones for more than 4 years now. My first cell phone being a 5110. Then, the common man's 3310, the 6210, 8250, 6310i, 6610.
I also have a Reliance LG RD 6000 phone currently... My family members use that now...
Before I went for the 6670, I had a 6600. I used the 6600 for 10 months (I got bored of the 6600 and was not happy with the voice quality), before I switched to the 6670.
The options I had when I bought 6670
Among the nokias, I had finalized to 7610, 3230, 6670. (7610 and 6670 to be similar looking cousins). I had my eye on the 7710 (the nokia pda phone). I got to see a 7710 (the nokia dealer himself used one). And my view was the phone was kind of slow like, if you had to open contacts, it took more than 2 seconds (not exactly timed - just a approx.) to come up... and the phone had to be handled with lot of care and the price was also a lot... but personally, I did not take the phone bcos of the price... may be next change...
I also liked the Sony Ericsson 910i (again the price 25k - around so much)..... close to the price of a celeron laptop... so these expensive phones were out of option for me.... proabable candidate for next change...
The 3230 was a good option, had FM Radio and 1.2 MP camera... But then, I still went for the 6670. I can view my doc and xls files on this phone.... (you CANNOT edit them - u can do it on the 7710)...
and the camera was 1 MP... and very frankly, I am not a camera phone freak... And the 6670 has this nice look with two two corners rounded-off.
The 7610 is a very similar looking phone... I would say very similar on the features as well...
My experience with the 6670
Okay, coming to real part of the review, the 6670 is decent looking phone... had same or more features than the 6600 (my previous phone)...
I carry a pouch that I put on my belt, this is make sure, the phone does not fall off from my pocket... Well... with expensive phones (for me 6670 is xpensive)... we need to make sure, we take good care of the phone...
The phone box came with a hands free, a USB Cable and 64 MB MMC. And a nokia PC Suite CD. Well... this phone does not have a Infrared port...
I could connect my Nokia 6670 with my laptop using the bluetooth with ease. No issues at all... I had lot of issues connecting my previous phone 6600... Also, the USB Connectivity is good... much faster data transfer than a blue tooth...
So, I am able to sync up my 6670 with my outlook contacts, tasks and calendar with great ease. There are minor sync up glitches between the symbian os and windows... but I am ignoring those and neither are they effecting me in anyways... So, the 6670 is acting like a poor man's PDA (as I cannot afford the Nokia 7710 or the Sony Ericssion 910i or the HP PDA phones)... This phone takes care of my contacts... reminders of my tasks... reminders on meetings and birhtdays of friends... I am getting all in one....
Coming to the voice quality, trust me friends, this phone does very well here... Even the speaker phone facility works fine... I do use the speaker phone facility sometimes... One more thing I liked was the phone fits well into my hand... this makes me more comfortable to use it... However, the key pad of the 6670 is not all the great... this is one place, where I miss my 6600... the 6600 had a better key pad...
On the 6670, you cannot afford to use the thumb well for using the key pad... you need to use your nails more... l am a little dissapointed on this aspect of the 6670.
Then, I have my XLS files copied on to my phone... so I am able to see the data when requried... I cannot edit these files... but I am okay with this... So, far I am pretty content that I can view these files...
Another superb thing is that I donot need to remember any of my email-id passwords... I can store all these on my phone and use it when required. Another example is that you can carry your loginids and ATM pins also, so for different accounts, you donot need to remember anything...
But be cautious here... Your phone has also important data... so you need to take care of the phone little more than required... You loose the phone, and you might loose all your confidential information... but I still keep the info on my phone, and I take care like one does for his wallet...
Yes, there is wallet feature on your phone where you can store all your ATM/Debit/CreditCard information.. and all this is paswword protected... But I am not very sure whether you can sync this information with your PC... If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know...
Coming to the camera, it is 1 MP... so, it is like, 1152 and 864 size photo... I took some photos... but when I got those on the PC, trust me... I did not find much clarity... The pictures taken look good only on the camera screen... I think the camera is more of a feature... that does not take good quality pics... Well... I mean to say that this can in NO WAY replace a digital camera usage... Personally, I was not impressed with the camera of 6600 and also of the 6670...
I think the battery should last for 3+ days... but for the sake of it, I charge it every second day...
I have the blue color phone... there are two available colors... silver and the blue... I like the blue more...
So, I guess I am able to use more or less all of the features... I plan to use to phone for atleast a year... and then.. may be upgrade to another phone like the 7710 or 910i... I am sure, there will be better phone by that time....
Buy this phone, if you want to use the contacts/tasks/reminders/calendar features... It is 64k color... good enough for the screen.... and if you have a budget of like 12-13k...
The other nokia phones in the similar price range are the 3230 and the 7610...
If budget is not an issue... then, I think the 910i or the 7710 is good option... (again if you want PDA like features)....
I hope I have not missed out any point... please feel free to ask me any questions on this phone... I will be more than happy to answer... (if I can)...

- Thank You! We appreciate your effort.
