Nokia 5310 Xpress Music User Reviews

One of the Best Mobile Brand in India

This phone is classed as a smart phone, but it is ageing now against some stiff competition. Having said that prices are holding their own against the modern competition as can be seen on E-Bay. And that is possibly because its a competent phone, it does what its suppose to do very well. Yes its not as responsive as more modern phones but the menus are uncomplicated and logical, unlike some other phones I could mention. The screen, again now showing its age, is still competent enough to look at web pages, as for downloads, well in my experience I have had good and bad, but overall nothing too frustrating. You can set up your favourite contacts on the screen in a scrolling menu, you can even have your fave apps in another scrolling menu on the screen. The reason I bought this phone off E-Bay was because I was trying to download an upgrade off the internet and made my original 5230 totally unusable, so if you contemplate any downloads from the Nokia website, software/firmware type updates be very careful or else you will end up with a dead phone, like mine. There are lots of options for ring tones, even pick your own from an mp3 file, the camera is 2 mega-pixels, and again, now being overwhelmed by modern day phones. But its an all round competent phone, the actual voice part of the phone is clear, and the warning sounds for messages, etc are equally loud, which for me is a very good indeed, as I sometimes work in a noisy environment. Is there anything I don't like, not really, all though I do worry slightly that Nokia have thrown their weight behind the new Windows 7 phone, nothing wrong with that but where does that leave the Symbian software which powers this phone? Apps is another thing, not particularly bothersome to me but in the wider scheme of things very important. Ovi, the phones app store, have some catching up to do here, but will it now bother, you have to wonder. Like any phone, it gets scratched, even in your pocket but it seems a rugged phone for normal use. I have a 2 gig memory card which holds most of my music and pictures so that I am not using the phones internal memory. I am pleased with the phone, it suits my needs which is everyday use, occasional web browsing, taking pictures when I don't have my camera with me, and viewing those pictures on a reasonable screen. There are other more fancy phones than this one, but the 5230 just seems to work without any fuss, unless you mess up big time like I did with downloads. If you want an up to date phone, that gets somewhere near the all conquering I Phone then forget it, this model is a fading Queen, even within the Nokia family of phones. But its a good performer for all that and one that I wanted to replace when I could have bought a newer, fancier model. But I had got use to my 5230 and thanks to E-Bay I can continue that relationship, as I have been using an elderly Samsung and its menus alone were doing my head in. But now I'm back to something more civilised, and yes I would recommend this phone, even today, if what you want is a no nonsense phone that sits on the edge of the smart phone fraternity, whilst not being a full member, its still worth your consideration.

Can Be Used As Secondary Phone

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic can be used as a best secondary phone at this time. The online price of this from its from 300 to 1500 Indian rupees which is quite fair amount for what does specification and features this phone gives.

This phone doesn't have the unique features what a smartphone can gives but still it is best of its kind.

2 megapixel front camera is not up to the mark but the overall built quality of a phone including the keypad and display is quite good.

Although the display size of phone is 2.1 inch, the display quality is not at all bad and the colours are amazing.

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic runs in Java operating system which supports Internet so you can do basic Internet things in it except for WhatsApp and other social network.

But Facebook app works on it with other small Java games provides entertainment.

This phone only supports MP3 3gp and MP4 supported files only.

Music can be more enjoyable when you use headphones instead of loudspeakers

Overall looking at the features and specification of this phones at this price range is a fairdeal.

I recommended this phone only if you are using it as your secondary phone to store your backups like contacts and other small files then it can be an amazing deal for you.

It is a nice phone according to me. It is a Java orientation phone with 16-20MB internal storage. It is a nice phone with good sound clarity. I used to listen music in this phone due to its specifications. It has the best sound clarity. It also gives us a nice battery backup of 1 day. It has got camera of 2 mega pixel in the back. This helps us to capture our favorite moments. It is a useful phone than anyone who knows about phone can use. It has simple applications and very we can even download applications as per our needs. We can insert memory card upto 16 GB so that more songs, videos, files, applications can be stored in the phone. It has curved edges and it brings out its style. It has colors at back and black at front. Overall it is so stylish to see. It is a nice phone. Buying it is not a waste as it provides the best features.

5 Years and Still Running

The Nokia Express Music 5310 is a great phone which was launched in late 2007 and it revolutionized the way people listened to music. This class of phone is really amazing with external keys that control the cell phone's music. The Nokia Express Music 5310 also comes with a camera that is 2 MP so it is capable of capturing images.

The Nokia Express Music 5310 runs on Symbian operating  system i.e the S 40 series. The Symbian Series is very famous. It's robust and have a long battery life  It also supports SMS, MMS, email and instant messaging. These features may look common in every phone right now but back in 2007 these features were really wow and it outmatched every phone in the market.

It also supported radio and and multiple games to pass time. The phone is really simple to operate and all the features in phone. The MP3  and video player works really well. It provides 30 MB internal memory and an additional 8 GB micro SD card which can be used to expand the memory.

It also has a great loudspeaker and an universal jack which can be used to listen music in the head phones. The sound reception is really good and audible. Its very easy to use and you can explore the entire mobile within an hour.

The style is really great and fits perfectly in our hands. Also it's very reliable because I have been using it for more than 5 years now and it still runs perfectly. Actually it is my phone's 5th anniversary today. It may be outdated and no production is continuing but this is a hell of a mobile.

This mobile is very tough as I have dropped it a number of times. The external body seems to be made up of good quality plastic and once I even dropped in a vessel of milk but after a few hours of drying it started again. Now that's a feature that no other cell phone guarantees.
