People don't ever buy the newly launched phones from Micromax, they are not serviced at the service center and you have to follow up on the call center for everything. I bought this Canvas 5 ( E481) in Dec'15 and got a software problem in 1st week of Jan'16.

Since then I've been following up almost everyday on their call center and its still not repaired. Even though they are asking for 999/- to replace the phone when its a simple software problem which can be fixed by flashing the ROM. DO NOT EVER BUY THIS PHONE OR BE READY TO HAVE ANOTHER PHONE FULL TIME BUSY CALLING THEIR SO CALLED PREMIER CARE SERVICE CENTER.

Canvas 5 is another launch from Micromax company. And for last few year Micromax has been leading India's phone market. People loves buying Micromax the reason behind that Micromax gives good after sales service and their main focus is to provide good specification in very competitive price. Canvas 5 is also not an exception too. Price of this phone is around Rs. 11000. And in this price customer would get 5.2 inch touchscreen display with HD quality. It also has 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. It has 13 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front camera.

This phone also has got built in flash. But I must say that the picture quality is not as good as 13 mega pixel camera. And camera's picture quality is not good at all in low lights, although this phone has in built flash. Front camera for taking selfies is good and you can capture good self images of your own with this front camera. This phone also has 1.3 GHz octa-core processor and this gives faster processing speed to the phone. And you can also use memory card to increase the memory.

And this phone supports extension of memory upto 32 GB. But I must suggest use 16 GB memory card to get better performance. And of course 16+16= 32 GB space is not bad at all. This phone comes with latest android operating system, android 5.1 version of operating system which is also known as Lollipop. And this phone supports 2 GSM mobile SIMs. Dual SIM feature has become a must have feature today. And this phone also has motion sensors which is also known as Accelerometer. Display quality is good but only while staying indoor, but you would not be able to see much if you are outdoor. This phone supports 3G and 4G both.

This is good phone to buy, as this is really a value for money phone. As a customer you are getting so many feature in just Rs 11500. But few things are there which are not of good quality like, rear camera, flash, battery back up. But this a good phone up.

Hi there this is chintu and today i'll be doing the review for this CANVAS 5 which is sort of a midrange entry level android device from  MICROMAX. And this unit sells in India for Rs.11, 000 APPROXIMATELY and is available both on amazon, flipkart and many other online and offline retail stores. And I have been testing this device since last couple of weeks now.

And before I give you my review, pros and cons of this device lets have a specs overview:

OVERVIEW: Canvas 5 is powered by the new Mediatek MT6753 chipset which is a octa core processor  based on ARM cortex A53 architecture. It sports a 5” 1080p screen, it has the Mali t720MP3 GPU along with 3GB of RAM  and 16GB of Internal memory and an expandability with Micro SD card up to 64GB. Camera is paired with 13MP back and 5MP front shooter. It also has a Fingerprint Scanner and a 2900mAh Battery which is sealed inside.

REVIEW: Canvas 5 comes with very decent specs and has that new Mediatek chipset. I would not say that the new Mediatek MT6753 chipset is vastly superior to its younger sibling MT6752 but it doesn’t get as hot as its predecessor used to and the battery life is also very good. The build quality and over all seems to be pretty solid as it is made up of metal and glass. And the full metal unibody design does provide good grip to the hand. And  at this price it’s a good buy.

CONS:

1. The MICROMAX UI is quite bloaty and heavy which  makes the phone a bit slow at times.

   
   




2. The loudspeaker is a bit tiny.

   
   




3. The rear camera performance under low and artificial lighting turns out to be quite poor.

   
   




4. At this price 3GB RAM could have been better as RAM Management  is not that good in the phone.

   
   




5. And also there is the lack of some sensors in the device like gyroscope and magnetometer.

   
   




6. At this price there is no support for USB OTG Functionality which is a shame for any device at this price point.

   
   

PROS:

1. Battery life from the 2900mAh cell is  nothing short of incredible as I only needed to charge the device once in every 1 to 1.5 days even after heavy use.

   
   




2. The 1080p display is a gorgeous one with excellent viewing angles.

   
   




3. The Mediatek chipset makes the phoneperform a bit smooth in most cases.

   
   




4. The gaming performance is just as smooth as butter in most cases.

   
   




5. The build quality is decent.

   
   




6. Very nice in hand feel.

I bought this mobile a couple of days ago from a mobile store. The most important thing was 3GB RAM and internal storage of 16GB, which attracted me very much.When the salesman were showing the features, he also showed the camera in which the camera quality was good. But the moment when I paid my bill and went out of the shop, the problems created. First, thing which happened was the SIM slot, it was not supporting my SIM, as I tried multiple times to insert my SIM as well as my friend's. Again I went back to the store, and I don't know what they did and the SIM was working good. When I came home and started clicking photos, the camera quality disappointed me, as the background of the photos were blurred, and inside a room where the lights are normal, it cannot capture the image properly even when the flashlights are on. Battery is draining out very fast even when you keep on the battery saver. I charge it fully in dawn and it switches off at the night of the same day. Features are quite less as compared to other mobiles within this budget.

I am using Micromax Canvas 5 since December 2015. I specially purchased this phone due to its 13 MP rear camera but I am sorry to say I have never seen such a poor camera. The battery backup of this phone is also pathetic. Phone becomes very slow after just one month.

There are also some issues in Micromax Canvas 5. I already send it twice in the service center for reparing but problem still exist. The screen of this phone is quite good but the quality of speaker is poor. For me its not worth my money I regret purchasing Micromax Canvas 5

Micromax Canvas 5 is a good mobile on a low price only at Rs.11, 999.It is a mobile with good looks and with good specification.It is a mobile with 3gb ram, good internal memory, 5 megapixel front camera and 13 megapixel good camera.

It has a feature loaded mobile but its weight is only near about 140gm.It also has a good battery of 2900 mah.I would recommend everyone to buy this mobile.It also has very strange features.It also has slim design.At last I only want to say that it is a good mobile.

Micromax canvas5 is a nice smartphone with high specifications.the phone built quality is good and phone look awesome. The performance of phone is good. Screen quality is awesome.it has 2900mah battery and the battery life is about 6-7 hours.

The phone having big screen and very first operating I'm enjoying.1.3 GHz octacore processer, 3 GB ram and 5.1 lollipop version.camera clarity also good. Best for Internet use it is 4g enabled smartphone so first Internet.I am also using this phone. Micromax Canvas 5 is a nice smartphone with high specifications. The phone built quality is good and phone looks awesome. The performance of Phone is good in gaming but it heated up also in charging. It has full hd resolution screen with sharp view. Screen quality is awesome. The camera of the phone is 13mp & gives good images in indoor and outdoor.

Front camera is 5mp and capture nice selfie. The phone has may bloatware which takes lot of space. It has 2900mah battery and the battery life is about 6-7 hours I normal internet uses. The phone has 16gb of internal space ( 14gb available) and also supports micro SD card up to 64gb. It also supports otg so it is good for me. 3gb ram available for multitasking and gaming.  It supports 4g 3g & 2g network and good for future uses. Phone ui is smooth but some time it lag.

So the it is good smartphone under price Rs.12000

Every single component is great I adore it.

In any case, I am got warming issues each day when I play amusement Min 5 to 10 Mins, and Converse with other 15 Mins to 30 Mins got Warming Issues. And also battery backup is not good but its a good mobile to use.i would recommend

Micromax really need to improve built quality and design. Phone doesn't look premium.wid same pricing we can get much better options frm xiaomi, infocus, nd newly launched obi.!?

I was searched for lots of mobile in the market before buying MICROMAX CANVA 5. I bought it for just Rs.11599.It is MADE IN INDIA product due to this I like it most. This is Smartphoe with stylish look. As compare to its price it has very high specification

Micromax is an Indian brand. Micromax invent good phones at genuine cost. Micromax gives good quality at less price. Micromax canvas 5 is a 4G smartphoe with stylish look.

This phone has 5.2inches screen and this phone also easy to access. It has 3GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory which is sufficient at this cost. This gives no problem for the use of apps and games.

This phone has 13MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera. It gives very good quality of pictures in the dark also.

Ram is 2 GB this phone has scratch proof Gorilla Glass 3 and front camera 5 megapixel. Picture quality is good.

and also After connecting a 16 gb flash drive it stopped working.  Camera is not at all good.The attractive features I found is its back cover and FHD display, 3gb ram, 16gb internal memory and 4g support. I also found battey life is not so good . battery drains very quickly while using 4g airtel.Take around 5 hours to charge and then draining fast.

This phone has great battery backup and it last for the whole day. The pics which are been clicked from pro mode are just awesome.lf proper setting is been done then the clarity of the pichas are upto the mark. Really awesome ever got from micromax

Micromax canvas 5 is one of best mobile at reasonable price in the market.i purchased these mobile 2 months before.The performance of the mobile is really good.Due to 16 gb internal memory, Tediatek processor, 3gb ram mobile is fully lag free.
