Benq S 670C Reviews

When I first saw the handset I had fallen head over heels looking at its beautiful aesthetic makeup with steely colour. The polyphonic ringtones were good and the resolution of the LCD panel at 65 colors was better than other handsets of its genre. The weight is pretty light approximately 100 gms odd. With dual display, Vibrations and SMSand MMS services the features were pretty rich.

But it had certain shortcomings. The FPC cable connecting the panel used to develop problems after prolonged use thereby shutting down the display abruptly. The software was not compatible with all cellular service providers and certain features like phonebook could not be used properly.

The battery backup had a major problem. The talk time also was not that high. It generally lasts not more than 3 hours. The menu is not very user friendly . A hardend Nokia user would probably find it difficult to use it for the first time and not like using it.

Overall the experience of using S670C was OK.

I wanted to gift a camera phone to my wife and made the unfortunate choice of buying Benq 670C in the month of May 2006. Since day one I have repented making that decision to buy that phone for the following reasons:

I bought Benq 670C primarily for connecting to the laptop my wife uses and surfing the net adn taking some pictures. The cable that is bundled with this phone does not work (not even at the Benq service center located in Andheri East, Mumbai)and when I first approaced the service center located near my house I was told that I have to go Andheri East as they will not do anything at this service center in Borivli. When I did go to Andheri service center the first thing the Benq service center representitive asks me is "how did you get the calbe because Benq 670C does not come with a cable". I than had to show her the CD that is provided with the box and than she was finally convinced that it does come with a cable. After unsuccessful attempts of getting the data cable recognised by the serivce center people at ALL their PC's and the one laptop that they had, I was told that Benq does not give any warranty for the data cable.

As far as the performace of this cell phone goes the less said the better. It has slow response time between navigatiing from one menu to another. The clarity fo the camera is poor compared to any of the entry level VGA camera phones.

The only 2 good things about this phone is that it has slightly larger screen for an entry level camera phones & it also has a morph software to create some funky stuff out the pictures you've taken with the camera...that 'sabout the best I can speak for about this camera.

If you are planning to buy this camera my advise is "PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK".
