MITWA BEST MOVIE
Jan 20, 2017 07:11 PM9919 Views

Director – Swapna Waghmare-Joshi

Cast – Swapnil Joshi, Sonalee Kulkarni, Prarthana Behere, Ila Bhate

After several duds in January, Mitwa seems to be a life saver for Marathi cinema.

Mitwa, an acronym for ‘Mitra, Tatvadyna and Vatadya’ is made for young collegians who

discover love for the first time.

Shivam Sarang(Swapnil Joshi), a restaurateur and millionaire, falls for Nandini

Prabhu(Sonalee Kulkarni) when she refutes his advances. Both resist commitment, but in

different ways. This draws them to one another. Gradually, love blossoms. Shivam asks her

out and Nandini rejects. Later, she accepts, but with stipulations, and not before revealing a

secret that creates friction between the lovers. Swapnil Joshi doesn’t really fit into the shoes of a playboy but is acceptable as an

actor. Sonalee Kulkarni is the Shah Rukh Khan of Marathi cinema – same in every film. It is

Prarthana Behere who steals the show(despite her excessive and oily makeup). Ila Bhate

continues her trend of giving logical explanations to plot twists.

Swapna Waghmare-Joshi has made an honest attempt in direction. The minor flaws

do not irritate you(other than the ‘Jhakaas Mast’ logo which pops up in the song Satyam

Shivan Sundaram This was probably to impress 9X Jhakaas which is the film’s media

partner). The climax is dragged and has a small part borrowed from the 2012 Hollywood hit

‘The Vow’.

Scenes of the church were actually shot in St. Patrick’s Cathedral Pune. It looks

beautiful. The wedding scene is a must watch. The film moves at a healthy pace and subplots

are kept at a minimum. This is unusual for a Marathi RomCom. The music is in harmony

with the script. Aruna Irani is brilliant in her guest appearance.

If you have a typical ‘Sadashiv Pethi’ girlfriend then impress her on Valentine’s Day

with Mitwa. I’m going with three shors out of five.

Mitwa - True love never dies!!

I am a big fan of Marathi Romantic Movies. Marathi movies have a different essence and Mitwa proves it.

Swapnil Joshi is known for his cute and adorable smile. And that's why he is always perfect for a romantic movie. This movie is a love triangle.

Swapnil Joshi is showed as a casanova so does not believe in love. Prarthana Behere who is a close friend of Swapnil Joshi, takes all his girlfriends, understands him and even is deeply in love with him.

Swapnil's life changes when Sonail Kulkarnee enters his life. His perspective for love changes and he gets attracted to her. He has always been the center of attraction between girls but when Sonali ignores him, he looks forward to know why she didn't give him the second look. Especially in the scene when she tells him'Tumhala baghnya aivaji mala majha appointment bagayla avdel.'

But then eventually he falls for her, both are attracted towards each other. When he proposes to Sonali he denies his proposal, telling him her life's tragedy. Which as an audience is very shocking.

I wont reveal the entire story, but keep it for you to watch. Enjoy a complete blend of drama, romance and comedy.

Mitwaa is purely a  love-story based film. Mitwaa story runs around a business person who is very successful and his friend who helps him in his business and taking decisions of life  and his employee. He does not believe in true love at all but than he falls in true love with his employee.

This movie clearly depicts that if you truly love someone from the bottom of your heart than you can do anything to be with him/her. True love has power that can rule your mind in all ways. The other part of movie depicts friendship at its best.  Prarthana Behere, plyaing role of Avani, is a childhood friend of Shivam and secretly loves him but Shivam falls in love with Nandani(Sonali Kulkarni). Avani could have took opportunity of fights between shivam and Nandani but she instead give directions to Shivam as to what he should do to save his relationship. This clearly depcits that true friendship is on the top of love and affection.

Best friends are for lifetime.

Many Dialogues in this movie are heart touching and awesome. Sound track is superb. Great story. A must watch film if you understand marathi and like to watch love-story films.

Pathetic movie

Mitwa seems to be a typically ok-ok movie to me. The kind of hype it is been given is definitely not worth it. Everything in the movie was just not up to the mark, the cast, scriptwriting, screenplay, timing, anything. I could say if there was just a single thing good in the movie, it would be the music. Which again was not that great, but a little better than ok.

Most of the movie is shown in the flashback, where Swapnil Joshi is shown to be a rich brat who loves going out, partying and dating girls. But that role has not suited him even a bit. He looked pathetic. Also Sonalee Kulkarni doesn’t look like matching the age of her character. She looks older and pale in the entire movie. Her contribution in the movie is not much. The only good part about the movie is its shooting destinations. One will be pleased to see more of Goa in the movie.

Maximum plots in the movie are boring and quite slow. They could have made the story more interesting, but they tried to tweak the style too much, which ended disinteresting many people. The timing of climax is not good. And many things are bombarded together. You end up thinking  how all these things happened at the same time. The worst thing in the movie is the end. You expect it to be something, but the end is shown to be something totally out of the picture. The end does not match the title of the movie at all.

Mitwaa means Soulmate, but nowhere or even in the end of the movie will you see that anyone has met their soulmate. Marathi movies are expected to have happy endings, and I am a person who loves to watch movies with happy endings, but I was highly disappointed after watching the movie Mitwa.
