Aga bai arecchya is a movie related to one girl. This is the film directed by Kedar Shinde loosely based on the hollywood movie What women Want.

The Shubha(Shubhangi Kudalkar) when she touches anyone which is she loves anyone that person will suffers a serious accident & such a curse of her life.

She likes three people and when they touches they suffer from serious accident. After that she meet to a writer Vikram which is writer. He want to write a book on her life and she will give permission to write on the same.

I like Agabai Areccha movie. Its a marathi movie. In this movie Sanjay Narvekar's performance is awesome. In this movie Sanjay, the hero, is blessed to hear what a woman say in their heart. For some time. This helps him to save mumbai from bomb blast. Its very much funny to see him screaming. This movie actually shows what and how much a woman is worried about.

He is always frustrated with women and due to this blessing he gets rid of his frustration and understand women. The movie has many good songs. My favourite is Man Udhan Varyache.

An Excellent Marathi movie

Every man has a desire to know what a woman is thinking, what’s going on in her mind! If someone gets this power then?

Well that’s the basic story of Agabai Arecchha(I don’t know what to call it in English but in Mumbaiyya terms it can be called “Aila”). A Marathi movie released in 2004 - 2005.

Plot: Shirrang Deshmukh aka Ranga(actual name: Sanjay Narvekar, remember dedfutya from Vastaav?) is a middle class married man living with his parents, sister and grandmother. He has the same problems which a common man has. But his major problem is women.

He hates women because of his lady boss who insults, humiliates him every time. He feels he is in a Woman's World and they are the rulers.

One day Ranga gets invitation from his native place for the annual fair(they call it “Jatra” in Marathi).

There he prey to the god for a power to read woman's mind, to hear what a woman is thinking. And bhagwan ji becomes *khush *and grants him with this supernatural power.

Initially he gets frustrated, whats going on with him. But then he accepts and enjoys the reality. Then he does lot of *herogiri *using the power. Saves people from a bomb explosion, helps catching the terrorists etc.And ends with a superb climax.

One might think its on the lines of “What woman wants” but it’s totally “Indiginized”(actually “Marathiginized”). So its fun to watch!

By the way, if you wanna watch the movie don't miss the Item number in the beginning by Sonali Bendre choreographed by Farah Khan.

That’s about the landmark movie ‘Agabai Areccha”. Really a paisa wasool movie.

Direction: Direction by Kedar Shinde(Stephen Spielberg of Marathi movies) is simply superb. Sir! Take a bow.Execution of every scene is really good. Each character is painted up to the mark.

Music: Music of Agabai Arrecha by Ajay-Atul is one of the best sellers in Marathi films.

Performance:Everyone has done proper justice to their role. Especially Sanjay Narvekar. Performed well the two shades of his life Frustration and then fun.

So do watch this movie, you will love it.

Aevdhe Se Aabhaal - A memorable marathi movie

*AEVDHE SE AABHAAL

*A Remarkable Contemporary Thought-Provoking Marathi Film with a most relevant message.[ Reviewed by VIKRAM KARVE ]

Divorce is no longer an ugly word. It’s happening all around us. Rising expectations, coupled with diminishing tolerance levels, are taking their toll, even in the middle-class milieu of “conservative” towns and cities like Pune.  Everyone wants a “perfect” relationship and “ideal” marriage, but they want it on their own terms. The modern mantra seems to be that if a relationship is not working it is better to sever it, split up, rather than endure and make efforts to patch up.

There are many stakeholders in a marriage, and divorce; the main ones being the husband, the wife, and the children. Aevdhe Se Aabhaal* **vividly portrays the repercussions of divorce on children, innocent victims who suffer for no fault of theirs.

Ten year old Bunty [played brilliantly by Rutvik Nadkarni] lives in Pune with his mother [Pratiksha Lonkar], a bank manager, separated from her husband [Ashok Shinde] who works in Mumbai. Bunty loves both his parents and looks forward to spending “quality time” with his father during his monthly visits. Now why the parents have split is a mystery as relationships seem quite cordial and amicable. [In my opinion “Amicable Divorce” is a most inexplicable oxymoron – if you can amicably divorce, why not amicably stay together? I thought only estranged marriages break up, and just can’t comprehend this mumbo jumbo about remaining good friends after the divorce when it’s much better to be good friends within the marriage! ]

Post-separation, things start happening quite conveniently. A relationship is slowly developing between Bunty’s mother and the Good Samaritan widower neighbourhood doctor [Harsh Chhaya] in Pune, while something similar is brewing between Bunty’s father and his Bengali friend Shibani [Shibani Sengupta] in Mumbai. So Bunty’s parents divorce each other with mutual consent and remarry, and bask in happiness with their newfound loves, leaving Bunty psychologically confused and emotionally devastated. His mother gets a new husband, his father gets a new wife, and the hapless Bunty is left high and dry.

It is at this juncture that the movie truly takes off with a sensitive and realistic depiction of Bunty’s losing struggle to come to terms with harsh reality. There are no vamps and villains in this story. The bewildered Bunty just can’t cope up with the circumstances as they snowball beyond his control.

The brilliant perceptive direction by Bipin Nadkarni who inspires natural virtuoso performances from the gifted actors creates a powerful and engrossing film which leaves a lasting impact on the audience.

Aevdhe Se Aabhaal is a remarkable contemporary thought-provoking Marathi film with a most relevant message and deserves a much wider viewership. I wish they dub it in English, Hindi and other languages and release it all over, or maybe screen it on TV.

The rating scale is too short to appreciate this movie....

Kedar & team has done splendid job... After long time I saw such a great show...

When I read the movie title my first reaction was not so good... If Kedar takes care of marketing and publishing aspects then sky would be limit for him...

Kedar portrayed the marathi culutre very nicely... the movie is so bounds you

After long time marathes got to see a movie with such a great calibre... Other producers/directors should take a cue from this unit... Kedar has proved the power of marathi heritage...

all the best kedar ... keep up the nice work...

Maha Movie of 2005 in Marathi
Oct 01, 2006 03:59 AM 2867 Views

I found this movie good on all grounds cast performance, cinematography, & music score. I wish Kedar shinde should try with the same team again especially, music score. Music was the best. After watching the movie I purchased the CD & gave it to my colleagues which was watched by all of our 20 staff members. Kedar lacks distribution network which Mr.Mahesh Kothare has does for his movies Kedar should have done good publicity which was not done in the region of Vidharba, Goa, North Karnataka, would have tried promoting it in theatres of Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior atleast one show. I have seen people from Madhya Pradesh watching this movie on their television set when it was shown on channel. Keep it up Kedar

Fantastic Movie directed by Kedar Shinde, if you see the theam or story of movie , u realised it copied from a english cinema, but dialouges, sceens , acting & songs are placed in such a way in the flim that one can stick to chair.

Fair shooting is mind blowing & fantsy used in moive to create comedy. all credit goes to kedar shinde. acting of all the artist is good enough including Dilip prabhavalkar, Sanjay Narvekar & other co-stars etc.

All the songs are very good, lyrix of the song is very simple & meaningfull. shahir sable , composed & sing a one song which is very fabulas. Director started a new trend in marathi cinema by taking a hindi song, that song is realated to the story of flim. coreography, music of song is very nice, and actress sonali bendre performed it nicely. it is like a item sond in Marathi Cinema.

Music Director Atul-Ajay also done a good job.

in short........ movie is very very good...... bole to ekdum Zakkasssssssss

Nice Movie.
May 21, 2006 10:10 PM 3138 Views

This is a nice comedy movie, thanks that we are getting rid of typical Marathi movie masala trend, depicting ’’Tamasha’’, Village politics, murders and cheap stories.

This comedy movie is better than the monotonous comedy acting performed by Laxmikant Berde, Ugly Ashok Saraf Mahesh and so on.....

Agabai Arecchha is well directed and produced by Kedar Shinde .Sanjay Narvekar ,Dilip Prabhawalkar ,Shubhangi Gokhale and all other actors have performed well and equally good is the music given by Ajay-Atul.

Agabai Arecchha is marathi version of English film ’’what women want’’ .Sanjay Narvekar plays the leading role of middle class working man.He gets divine power by which he can hear the inner voice of women.

Film is well shooted especially the village scenes ,like when the Sanjay Narvekar is hooked to ’’Baghad’’ and also rural glimpses are well caught.

It’s worth to buy a CD/DVD as it is a good entertainment

Going big time !!!!!!

Decent Movie, Decent Comedy
Dec 18, 2005 05:31 PM 2601 Views

Hi Everyone,

Being a South Indian born and brought up in Mumbai, I liked the movie more than the marathis esp. since I didn't try to find flaws in it. Obviously it would be unfair to compare it to a Bollywood or Hollywood movie.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------

By the standards of regional movies, I found it quite appealing.

The entire cast has done a lovely job. The cinematography is also good. The songs are very pleasing to hear too. The Sonali Bendre item number was good too.

The story takes many twists and turns and also gives a social message. It’s not all comedy, there are serious moments too.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------

Even though it's inspired from What Women Want starring Mel Gibson, it's still original in many ways.

I’d definitely recommended a look. Kedar Shinde is a brilliant director.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------

Although I know the names of other actors, can someone tell me the name of the lead actress?

Good music can make entire film pleasant to watch
Oct 19, 2005 12:05 AM 3060 Views

I was inspired to write a review on this film because of its excellent music. Especially the song ''Mann Udhaan Varyache''. This song really takes you of the ground and would make you fly in air. And if you really sing the song going with the meaning of the lyrics I assure you that it really touches your heart. Can a song have such a power. Just listen it and if u feel the same as I do just acknowledge me.

Moreover ''Kedar Shinde'' Well known for the serial ''Shriyut Gangadhar Tipre''

has inserted humour and emotions very beautifully. This film has it all humour, emotions, feelings.

In short a wonderful film to watch if u r even a Non Maharastrian.

A Good Movie
May 20, 2005 05:05 PM 3031 Views

Kedar Shinde, a very wellknown name in Marathi serials world has come with his first full length feature film. So as a matter of duty ( as a marathi man ) I saw the film.

Technically film is brilliant. Music is just out of the world. Especially the aarati of Durga in a new tune is absolutely superb. Other songs are also very nice. The sole hindi dance number performed by Sonali Bendre on screen is just terrific. Infact picturization of all songs is like main hindi films. But plotwise the film is weak. The subject of the film is fantastic. A man can read thouhts of women. Concept is good. But actual work is not that much proper. The film lacks pace, punches and comedy also. Performances by Dilip Prabhavalkar and Shubhangi Gokhale are worth noticing. But the main lead Sanjay Narvekar, although given full freedom unable to impress. Sometimes he overacts. Other supporting members are good. Overall not a waste of money if u watch but dont keep high expectations.

Movie/Music Review: Agabai Arecchha
Apr 15, 2005 03:32 PM 13434 Views

If you like good music (& on top of that, you are a Marathi music fan) you wont regret reading this review.

On MouthShut, I have reviewed English & Hindi music albums, but this is the first time I would be reviewing a Marathi music album. And I am so very proud doing it!

But as a mark of respect (!) to this category, I am giving a quick review of the corresponding movie as well.

MOVIE REVIEW: Agabai Arecchha

Directed by the veteran & highly successful stage & TV director Kedar Shinde, this movie, however, didnt excite me much. The plot is obviously inspired from the Hollywood flick What Women Want. There are sparks of genuine comedy (which is this directors forte) interspersed, however, touted as a comedy it doesn't wholly turn out to be one. There are many scenes that just do not add anything to the progression of the story & if they do, they seem distantly disjointed. A heavy influence of stage direction unfortunately peeks in the presentation. An actor of Dilip Prabhavalkar?s calibre is purely wasted. The story of a man who gets the divine power of knowing what goes on in a woman?s mind could have been more deftly handled. The film, however, does shine in the technical aspects of Cinematography & Sound Design.

Though, I did not like the movie much, I don?t regret it. On the contrary, I am grateful I went, for this film made me buy its music album, which I probably would not have otherwise. Now on to the main thing?

MUSIC REVIEW: Agabai Arecchha

After I listened to the tracks while watching the film, I was sure enough to get the Music Album CD. And I am glad I did. I listened to it 4-5 times on the trot !!! Something I had never done for a long time now.

The CD has 10 tracks. First 5 are the Film music & the rest 5 are Bonus ones. Music is given by Ajay - Atul & they have done an EXCELLENT JOB!.

Track 01: Durge Durghat Bhari

Singer: Ajay & Chorus

Lyrics: Sant Narhari

This is amongst those tracks that made me buy this CD. It is actually an Aarti of Goddess Durga which is normally recited at Ganesh Festivals. I was pleasantly shocked to listen to this track. This track convinced me that melody (dhun) can actually elevate the lyrics to a new level. You can?t stop enjoying this song where the chorus reminds one of A.R.Rehman. The lead singer/music-director Ajay has a soothingly wonderful voice. An Aarti never sounded so sweet. This song has been beautifully shot in the movie.

Track 02: Prabhat

Singer: Ajay, Amey Date, Vijay Prakash, Yogita Godbole, Bela Sulakhe

Lyrics: Srirang Godbole

This is a medley of 5 songs. The concept of the song is that of a progression from the black & white era to the modern one & is shot akin to Woh Ladki Hai Kahan? from Dil Chahta Hai. The music complements the concept. In particular, I like the 3rd song in the sequence...Mann majhe umloon gele, Sparsh tujha zhala?

Track 03: Gondhal

Singer: Shahir Sable & Ajay

Lyrics: Shahir Sable

It is a devotee?s song with excellent lyrics, great chorus & superb rendition by the lead singers. You get a nostalgic feeling listening to this track.

Track 04: Mann Udhhan

Singer: Shankar Mahadevan

Lyrics: Guru Thakur

One of my FAVORITE TRACKs in the album. Shankar Mahadevan has rendered it in his inimitable style & has turned this track into one of those rare gems! The lyrics are so amazing that they keep you gasping for more. No! I am not blind-praising. Listen it to believe it. Thanks a million to Mr. Mahadevan. The music is smooth on ears & enhances the overall feel of an already cool song. This one is an aural delight!

Track 05: Cham Cham Karta

Singer: Vaishali Samant

Lyrics: Shyam Anuragi

The voice behind the super hit Aika Dajiba weaves it magic here as well. This dance-bar Hindi number, choreographed by Farah Khan & picturized on Sonali Bendre, has the Mungda feel to it. Music needs a worthy mention here! Play it at home or at a party & watch your foot tapping on its own. Oooo freaky eh! ;-)

NOTE: Watch the video for this song that regularly makes rounds of the music channels & enjoy Farah?s choreography

Track 06: Galavar Khhali

Singer: Swapnil Bandodkar

Lyrics: Chandrashekhar Sanekar

With this track, start the bonus tracks, which are mainly romantic. Music here from takes more of a contemporary form. Swapnil excellently renders this beaty number. Marathi music is finally coming on its own in this competitive industry.

Track 07: Hastes Tu Ashi

Singer: Avdhoot Gupte

Lyrics: Chandrashekhar Sanekar

This is the song that gives me mixed feelings. I love it & I hate it! I love it because it?s a soft romantic number with blissful poetic influence. I hate it because it does not turn out to be the way I would want it to. The utterly talented Avadhoot Gupte starts this song with a brilliant flair. However, the antaras could have been rendered more elegantly. He just messes up with the highs & lows in the pitch of his rendition. He sings it like an ?over-confident teenage singer?. Also, the ?flute? could have been toned down. It just bangs in your ears. Otherwise a hauntingly beautiful number, this would have been the best song, but for these trivial (& irritating) things. This song surely deserved a better treatment.

Track 08: Chal Sarja Chal Raja

Singer: Sachin

Lyrics: Vasant Bapat

Sung by the multi-talented Sachin (Pilgaonkar) this is a folk-song that finds itself out of place in this album. Though a good song, it does not belong here.

Track 09: O Priya

Singer: Swapnil Bandodkar

Lyrics: Chandrashekhar Sanekar

Good music, good rendition, pretty average https://lyrics. Nothing more.

Track 10: Mi Laglo Bolayala

Singer: Avdhoot Gupte

Lyrics: Chandrashekhar Sanekar

A fast-paced song. Fortunately, Avadhoot Gupte does not mess up here & gives the song all that it deserves. Amazing lyrics, good melody & equally fine music lets the song end the album gracefully (only to be replayed by me from Track 01 again & again &?).

Long has it been since the Marathi Film Music Album was bereft of such truly excellent music & lyrics all at one time. I hope with Agabai Arecchha this drought will end. Go ahead buy the CD. It costs less than a 100 bucks (Rs. 95 to be precise). You will truly enjoy it (in a loop may I add). You can relate to the film songs (Tracks 1-5) more if you watch the movie, though this ain?t no pre-requisite.

As I said in the beginning, listening to this album made me feel proud. The reason is a simple one, the music & the lyrics (mainly) made me feel closer to my mother tongue than I ever was. Thanks to all those who were involved in making of this album.

Take Care,

Amul
