Save yourself the pain of buying Sony Vaio
Dec 21, 2011 10:27 PM 4982 Views

Simply put, Sony Vaio VPCSB18GG is a piece of junk. It has several hardware problems and the worst part is that Sony Customer service is even horrible. Just bunch of shameless fellows.

It restarts intermittently, hard disk crashes frequently, the HDMI port doesn't work well, Sony customer support is least concerned with the customer, tried cheating me by wrapping up old laptop in a new packing. The list can go on.

I have sworn never to buy a sony product. Read the full story and save yourself the pain https://sanjeevg.com/2011/10/why-not-to-buy-sony-vaio.html

Worst Ever Product and THE MOST WORST SUPPORT
Oct 20, 2011 03:24 PM 8336 Views

I’m representing one of the Industry’s leading MNC Company in Bangalore, India. Looking at the slim design and configuration, we had opted to go with Sony Vaio S series laptop(Model: VPCSB18GG) during May 2011. Within just 4 months, the hard disk crashed and then started our trouble story with Sony Vaio. I have used various other brands such as HP & Dell since last 9 years. I began to realize that Sony Vaio was the worst ever product I have seen till date. There is no direct company support and we have to depend on so called “Authorized Sony Service Center”. They may be just the authorized centers, but they have no clue about the Company Warranty / Service terms.

When the laptop had hard disk crashed, we had taken it to the service center and there we had a highly difficult time to make those engineers understand, to get the data recovered. There is neither a data recovery service offered from the service center, nor they let us carry the hard disk for a third party recovery. The personnel in the service center not even allowed us to talk to Sony directly from that center. However we managed to call up the Sony direct support number using our personal phone and explained the situation. On explaining the situation, they agreed to carry the hard disk for a third party data recovery. The same was heard by the personnel in the service center, as the phone was put on loud. The frustrating moment was, even after taking so much of pain talking to Sony directly; the service center personnel did not agree to carry the hard disk and instead started demanding Rs.10, 000/- deposit. Since Data was most important for us, we took the hard disk for third party recovery, after taking the assurance from the direct Sony support. After we got back the data, we took the hard disk for replacement and the service center started demanding Rs.14, 500/- for a 500 GB hard disk which is under warranty. We were forced to procure another brand hard disk, when were denied of warranty replacement. The problem still continued even after we got another hard disk. There was no support of drivers for Windows 7 Pro 32 bit edition and the recovery DVD that was given never worked.

After all this and somehow managing to install the operating system and make the laptop work, the problem of Touchpad sensitivity started. While using Keyboard, the mouse pointer goes ballistic on the screen, hitting buttons that we don’t press. There is no proper option of disabling the touchpad and it is highly frustrating to use the Laptop Keyboard without having connected an external Keyboard and Mouse.

“I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND PRODUCTS OF SONY VAIO TO ANYONE.”

DEADLY looks with OK performance
Oct 19, 2011 02:17 PM 36310 Views

This is my first review of a computer. I am having laptop computer for my personal use but netbook fascinated me since the time of its release. There was not much use of it but my gadget freaky behavior was continuously forcing me to own a netbook. After much R&D, online market research and much more, I decided to purchase one.

Initial Dilemma

Before purchasing, I shortlisted few brands as per the price and specifications. I had to choose between Dell, HP and Acer with in the price tag of around Rs.17000. I left the choice of exact model on my impulse. When I went to a multibrand store, there was much more in display.

When I think of netbook, it was always a 10.1in screen without an optical drive. But while experiencing it for the first time in that store, I felt that 10.1in is very small for me (I am using 15in screen laptop). I used to wear spectacles with high power so it was bit difficult for me to concentrate on that tiny screen. So I rejected that screen size, the next available was 11.6in screen. There were three brands in display in that screen size- HP, Dell and Sony. The features were almost same except few- HP was having Windows 7 HB and higher battery backup. Leave aside features; my impulse was bowled over by the looks of Sony Vaio. I should tell you that owning a Sony Vaio was always my desire so it was good chance to satisfy that.

I wanted a white netbook but had to satisfy with silver color, as there was no white color option in that model.

Specifications

OS: Windows 7 Starter 32-bit

Architecture: AMD Dual-core Processor E350 (1.6GHz) with 1MB L2 Cache

Main Memory: 2GB DDR3 RAM (upgradeable to 4GB)

Storage: 320GB SATA (5400rpm)

Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6310

Display: 11.6in wide (Resolution- 1366x768) TFT color display (VAIO Display, LED backlight)

Interface: USB 2.0 (3 ports), RJ-45 LAN, VGA, HDMI, Memory stick Duo, SD memory card, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, Ethernet, Headphone, Microphone

Webcam: 0.3MP (Resolution- 640 x 480)

Audio: Intel High Definition Audio chip, internal stereo speakers

Optical drive: Not available

Keyboard: Isolation keyboard (standard)

Size: 290 x 25-31.5 x 202.8 mm

Weight: 1.46 kg (including the supplied battery)

Battery: 6-cell

Looks and design

It has got killer looks like all other Sony Vaio products. It has tapered design with unique-shaped corners (neither round nor sharp). The other end of netbook where the hinges are located is beautifully made in cylindrical form. On one end of this cylinder, there is charging socket; on other end there is a big ‘Power On’ button. Power button emits green light all the time that look awesome.

On top right corner above the keyboard is an ‘ASSIST’ button, specific to Vaio care. The touchpad is very large, smooth and comfortable to use. It supports multi gestures such as pinch-to-zoom. The palm rest is sufficient enough and it is made in mesh type shape so as to make it non-slippery.

The keyboard is isolation type (all keys are individual). It has 83-keys keyboard with few problems like comparatively small right ‘Shift’ key that confuse sometimes.

The lid is made up of durable plastic with matte finish so there are no problems like finger marks or smudges. There is large ‘VAIO’ written in trademarked style on the lid.

The netbook is available in three colors- pink, silver and green. Accordingly the last letter in model name changes with color- YBC15AG/S or G or P.

Performance

This netbook is powered with AMD dual-core processor with 2GB RAM, and I did not feel it superior or inferior to Intel. It is as if you are working on Intel. There is no additional boost in performance. You can easily do multitasking like listening music and web browsing. I had even tried opening 7-8 WebPages and the performance was ok.

The supplied OS is Windows7 starter edition. Windows7 SE comes with limited functionality like you can’t change wallpapers, but there are many applications available on internet that can easily do this job. I have noticed that boot up is not very quick as I expected. It may be because of OS or processor that I am not sure about.

It is loaded with AMD Radeon graphics card (with VISION technology) that promised a better performance regarding video and graphics. You can easily play HD videos but the lower resolution (compared to laptops) may not give you the real HD feel.

There is no extra copy of Windows is given in CD/ DVD format other than the installed one (this is normal nowadays). It is saved in rescue drive of netbook. By default there is no hard disk partition but you can easily do that by going through ‘help’.

The 6-celled battery provided with this netbook gives backup of almost 4 hours. I have used it mainly for web browsing and it easily achieved the promised backup time. Considering the netbook, the backup is at lower side, as competitive netbooks are promising 7-8hrs backup time.

Multimedia & connectivity

The stereo speakers of netbook are loaded with Intel High Definition Audio chip to deliver clear and louder output, which is quite impressive. The speakers are located at bottom of netbook near the corners.

When 2MP Webcam is normal nowadays, it has only 0.3MP so you can’t expect good image quality.

There are three USB 2.0 ports (one on left, two on right). The HDMI port enables you to watch HD movies on large screen by connecting it to your TV (most of the TV are provided with HDMI port). There are other standard features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, multi-card reader, Ethernet, and VGA etc.

Battery and other features

Bundled softwares/ tools

There are many utility softwares and tools preloaded in the netbook. I am giving a list of few-selected one.

  1. Media Gallery- Provides easy and fun way to access photos, videos and music files.

  2. PMB Vaio edition- It lets us organize, create and share photos and videos.

  3. VAIO Gate- To select and run applications by clicking on large icons.

  4. ASIST button- Calls up Vaio care that automatically optimizes, fixes and troubleshoots various problems.

  5. MS Office 2010 starter edition- It includes reduced functionality versions of Word and Excel with advertisement and does not include PowerPoint and Outlook.

  6. McAfee anti-virus with 30-days trial

  7. Magic-I visual effects- It enables photo clicking and video chatting with fun frames and Avatar function.

Pros

  1. Perfect screen size, considering portability and usability.

  2. Isolation keyboard provides comfortable typing.

  3. ASIST feature

  4. Excellent finish and build quality

  5. Pre-installed Office starter edition

  6. ’Vaio’ pouch cover included with the supply

  7. Graphics card.

Cons

1. Only 0.3MP Webcam

  1. No USB 3.0 port, which is very much required in near future.

  2. Costlier than other similarly featured netbook. It’s all because of Sony brand name.

  3. Boot up time is comparatively more.

  4. Low backup time of only 4hrs, as 7-8hrs is normal in netbook.

  5. Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Price

The MRP of this netbook is Rs.22990 as per the Sony India website. I purchased it for Rs.23350 from Reliance Digital (it is a long story that why I paid more than MRP- read out my review on ‘Reliance Digital’ to know more). You can easily get it in the range of Rs.22000 from online stores or a store near you. Do bargain.

Final words

This slim and stylish netbook offers durability, mobility and lightweight. It has the perfect size for portability and can easily fit in any type of bag.

Slow but good for travel
Oct 19, 2011 01:17 PM 6846 Views

Sony VAIO VPCYB25AG/B is 11" netbook. Bought it for~ Rs22K. It was very useful for my travel abroad as I wanted to access net and also to download my photos on to it.

It comes with 320gB hard disc and with the following specs AMD Dual-Core Processor E-350 with AMD Radeon™ HD 6310 Discrete-Class Graphics Windows® 7 Starter 32-bit 11.6(29.5 cm) wide(WXGA: 1366x768) TFT colour display(VAIO Display, LED backlight) In summary it is very light weight at 1.5kg(including the 130g charger) 4 hr battery.

On the bad side, it is slow for anything other than internet, be it installing new software, copying from SD card, opening office documents etc.

If your application is just internet related, then it is quite OK.

It has no optical drive(ie no CD/DVD).

Has a couple of USB ports.

The camera provided is good for nothing.

Overall I loved this laptop, it is great for travel. Buy it if that is the main purpose.

Worst product ever had
Sep 24, 2011 10:30 AM 8657 Views

It is a worst product I ever had. Even there is no company support. I have bought my laptop last year in Apr-2010 & also now I have revised the warranty time as I face a lot of problem in first one year. Still my laptop is with SONY service center & I am after with them. No one is there to taking care of the customer after selling the product. Most of the time my laptop is with service center. I am just fed up with all. If SONY INDIA is really a good company, would like to see them to revert me as early they can. Never recommend products of SONY to any one. Would like if company refund my amount as I am completely fed up with all this. It is being very difficult to take leave every after some days to submit the laptop to the service center.

Most stylish Notebook which is also under budget

Keyboard is very nice. Also there is a switch to switch on/Off wifi and bluetooth.

Worst service ever faced
Feb 17, 2011 01:10 PM 5836 Views

I bought a Sony Vaio Laptop in Dec 2009 with a one year warranty. In december 2010, co-coincidently, exactly after my warranty finished my laptop stopped working. It wont power on. I went to Sony Authorised service station, Advance Electronics in Sushant Arcade, Gurgaon. They checked my laptop and as expected and warned by my friends, I was told that the mother board of the laptop has stopped working and I will have to get it replaced. These were the answers to my questions at the service station.

Q: Are you sure the mother board is not functioning properly.

A: We are not sure but we will only get to know after putting up a new mother board.

Q: Will the laptop start working after putting up a new mother board.

A: We will only get to know after replacing the mother board for which you will have to give advance of Rs 5000.(Why should I give advance for an experiment of putting up a new mother board and see if it works or not)

Q: Why dont you put some spare mother board and test and confirm that its the mother board problem.

A: We dont have any spare mother board to test. (Thus testing will be done on my cost)

Q: What is the reason by which mother board has stopped working.

A: There are many reasons for mother board to stop working.

Q: What is the reason for mother board of my laptop to stop working.

A: (Now even after checking my laptop) We can not be sure. There could be any of the reason.

Even after hearing all this, I had to give my laptop for mother board replacement. After 6 days I got my laptop in working condition. I enquired about the reason for dis-functioning of mother board but again no specific reason was told. I got my laptop home, attached the adapter and tried to switch it on again. As soon as I switched it on some lights flickered and lit off. Again the laptop stopped working.

I don't understand, whether the Service stations are actually service stations of just part replacement centres. The engineers, even after checking your laptops are not able to tell the problem. Are they just there to loosen up the bolts and change parts, which I can easily do on my own as well. On a laptop worth 45000 bucks I have already spent 15000 additional on mother board and service cost. And even after that it doesn't work. I am getting harassed mentally and financially.

Please intervene and resolve my issue.

Anshul Mehta

Sony vaio cs 14 G/B Pros and Cons

It is a nice laptop. Easy to use and stylish. But all Vaios in this model are having problem with the fan which makes huge noise all the time. Also it has a very vary low battery life.

Sony claims to have 3 hrs of battery time after 100% charging. But my laptop which is only one year old, stays for only 20 mins once it is unplugged from the power.that is awful..!!I DON RECOMMEND THIS MODEL!It is a nice laptop.

Powerful PC
Jan 14, 2011 10:19 AM 3339 Views

As a professional photographer I need a powerful PC and laptop to run the extensive editing software that I use on a regular basis.

I have for a long time been a fan of Sony laptops and still believe that for looks and power they simply cannot be beaten.

My latest Sony laptop is the fantastic Vaio VPCF12Z1E/BI, a machine that boasts a full HD Vaio display and a Blu-ray player so you can enjoy the highest quality videos and games.

The ability to conserve power with its built in light sensor so it can detect the light available and set the screen brightness automatically to suit, built in cinema-style surround sound with Dolby® Home Theater v3 and most importantly an Intel Core i7 processor with turbo boost technology and a huge 8GB or ram.

The new i7 processor is a quad core processor with built in turbo boost technology for those of you who do not understand the meaning of quad core here is my non techie explanation.

QUAD CORE EXPLAINED:

Quad-core processing is exactly what it sounds like, four processors running instead of one. The reason this is good is quite simple, imagine the processor in the computer to be similar to the brain of a human.

The processor as the human brain would do feeds info to the various hardware and software for them to in turn react, much as the human brain makes your limbs move.

The faster it can do this the faster your hardware and software will react, if the processor is inundated with requests it takes more time to pass it on to the correct hardware or software so having four makes lots of sense. When one processor is taking care of your cd burning and music downloading for instance one of the other processors will be only too happy to pass on any other info you need delivered to your hardware or software appliances in order for them to carry out their tasks simultaneously.

This requires plenty ram to be available also though as the ram is the memory used to open up programmes and if there isn't enough ram then the processors speed and power becomes useless.

Although you would think that desktops and laptops with quad-core processors would automatically be built with enough ram this is not always the case so make sure when you buy that there is at least 2GB of ram but preferably four or more, this Sony laptop has 8GB this will allow you to get the very best out of the quad-core technology built in.

As well as being a quad-core processor this i7 also has built in turbo boost technology which means that should the processor doing the hardest task start to struggle it will get a much needed short term boost of power to allow it to always run completely smoothly and the user will never know any of this is going on they will just know that what they are doing is easy and fast.

In the main I use this laptop for photo editing and most of the time I am using Photoshop CS5, this is a very process hungry programme that will slow down even most dual core processors, indeed my last laptop was a very expensive Sony Vaio with dual core processor and 4GB or ram yet it still got sluggish with CS5 running and if I tried to have some music on at the same time the media player would often get a bit jumpy.

Using this Sony VPCF12Z1E/BI machine I can easily breeze through my work in CS5 whilst most of the time having my airbrushing suite open and music playing too.

The other huge advantage for my photo editing is the colour balanced HD screen, this allows me to see the photo exactly as it looks on the camera and exactly how it will look when printed instead of having a colour difference as most monitors show.

My old laptop and indeed the PC I still use both showed a pinky tinge to the images that wasn't really there and this made editing more challenging.

Now just because I use it for photo editing doesn't mean that is all this machine is good for, far from it. The HD screen also of course makes watching TV streams or DVD`s or Blu-ray discs as enjoyable as watching them on today's HD T.V`s and if you happen to be into video editing then you get the same advantages as I get with my photo editing.

If you are a gamer then this machine will let you run today`s most demanding games with ease and the HD screen again comes into its own allowing you to get the best graphics available and as the machine comes with an NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M graphics card and 1GB of dedicated video ram memory the games highest specs can be fed to the screen no worries.

I am not a gamer but have played a few games on this laptop and the experience is certainly a very good one with the excellent graphics and sound you really get the best from the games as you do with pretty much everything else you will do with this unit.

The high contrast and colour saturation, it is full HD 1080 rated and on top of all that the screen is scratch resistant.

Storage is another thing that laptops and PC`s must have plenty of these days and although many PC`s now come with a TB or more it is still very acceptable for a laptop to have around 250 or 300GB, with this laptop you get 500GB so it is right up there with most PC`s and better than most laptops in the storage department.

The other thing downloader's (legal of course) and fans of archiving will enjoy about this laptop is that as well as being able to play Blu-ray discs it can burn them too, allowing you to back up your own Blu-ray discs as well as burning your downloads to disc to keep and share.

Although this is one of the bigger Sony laptops at 263 X 387 mm it is still pretty light weight and easy and comfortable to carry around.

Overall this is a very impressive laptop that stands out head and shoulders above most others, the only thing it has typical about it is the battery life.

As with most laptops this one runs on a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery and although this battery is more powerful than many it still only allows this laptop to run for approximately two and half hours with a full charge, that is of course because the laptop is so powerful it need lots of battery power to run it.

With a charge time of around four hours this laptop is very average on this front but way above average on most others, it is certainly a laptop I would recommend to others and one I am very happy with myself.

Do NOT Buy this product.

Battery life is just over 1 hour

Hard disk crashed within 3 months. This has happened to a few other people I know who bot this Sony line recently. The service centre person also acknowledged issue with hard drives of Sony laptops.

The service centre took about 8 days just to change a hard drive. Apparenlty the damn things have to be flown in from Singapore. Cant understand how these MNCs work. Hard disk is a very common part, and if u know u have something prone to failuer, u better stock it. 8 goddamn days to replace a hard drive? in Mumbai. An outside guy would have done in 24 hours max.

And ever since the piece came back, a few keys on the key board are jumbled. Havent done back, since they would perhaps keep it for another 8 days.

Sony VAIO VGN CR32G/B - my worst experience
Nov 10, 2010 11:38 AM 3568 Views

I bought Sony Vaio VGN CR32G/B with 1 Gb RAM in 2008 october. My NightMare started with buying. After one month use it was not getting started. I gave it to Service centre in Andheri, Sakinaka. They returned it back to me after 15 days and numerous call. Reason:- part is not available in Mumbai. It has Vista operating system. This is its real problem . My laptop is so slow that it remind me of my first PC with 256 MB of RAM. I cant open mozilla and Open office org together. If I tried to  do so it got hanged.

Now I want to upgrade it to Window-7. I call customer care for it and now they are saying that they do not support window-7 or XP. I am trapped. I don't know what to do. Buying vaio laptop has become one of the worst decision of my life.

Why you should not buy sony vaio
Oct 22, 2010 03:01 AM 8105 Views

After reading a review somewhere that Sony Vaio series VPCEB24 (E series)is having lots of hardware issues I still went ahead and bought it like a fool. And I m paying the price. I had to run around to the service centre withing one month to replace the hard drive. When I went to the service centre I found many of the users had come for the same reason. I met at least 5 guys on one day!!!..So I strongly advice not to go for this. Am not sure of other series but this one is definitely bad. Go ahead at your own risk

Editing the post after 6 months of posting to say that the hard disk crashed once again and this time too same scenario saw ppl ther wid same prob.. I really dono how sony cannot solve the problem after such a long time...

Cracked Vaio
Oct 09, 2010 11:02 PM 3176 Views

Sony laptops, in general, are expensive. Additionally, the VAIO NW150J is not a hardy laptop. My laptop body developed a hairline crack in the  base when it was less than a year old. And this was always in a laptop bag or used on a table.

Unfortunately, the warranty did not hold since it was not bought in India. The local Sony service representative advised me to use it as long as it lasts since the repair cost would cost 30% that of the laptop itself. Representatives on the phone were less receptive. My personal recommendation is an HP laptop.

Why Sony?
Sep 20, 2010 01:00 AM 7327 Views

I bought mySony EB14EN from Croma Ahmedabad in mid June as I wanted a VAIO and hence paid more even though a higher configured DELL was priced lower. The VAIO takes around 4 long minutes to boot up and hangs up frequently. the battery lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, I am a regular home user using it mostly for surfing and mailing. My older laptop - an IBM thinkpad of 1998 vintage which has a 364 MHZ P II processor and 192 MB RAM boots up in 2 min on Win XP even today and hangs up lesser, obviously it takes more time to process programs and files. The VAIO gets scratches on its top easily too so take care of the top especially, it is quite heavy too. The layout and display quality is good but the sound of my thinkpad is better. Processor speed and multi-tasking after start-up is good.

My gadgets option is also not Woking now, it was when I purchased it, but now when I select any gadget for my screen just the gadget closing cross mark appears. I don't know what to do and how to get the gadgets to appear on my screen, will I have to restore my VAIO to factory settings?Evaluate properly before going for a VAIO, a DELL probably makes more sense as their hardware and software bundle is better. Also it is more pocket friendly besides being as well renowned as Sony.

This laptop is great, its fast and reliable, the graphics are out of this world, I am a heavy gamer playing some of the most graphics hungry games and this works and charm, runs smooth as butter on the wireless. The DVDburn is as good as the name claims to be but there's not really room for complaint when everything else is above and beyond. I would also advice a different windows if possible (it was for me, I bought it from pcworld) as vista is very very hard drive and ramhungry and makes the laptop lag more than needed. The battery life is absolutely extreme!

I used this on a 9 hour coach journey turning it off and on about three times and it made it through the whole journey with much battery loss. The only thing I would say truly dissapointed me was the mouse pad, as it felt rather rough to the hand.

I recommend this product
Jul 12, 2010 06:01 PM 7685 Views

This is a nice model. Unlike the cheap Inspiron, Vaio rocks. The keyboard is the best in category and also looks are better than any Notebook in this category. A very nice screen and sound. The best again in this category

This has a strong body and is durable. Though this is a little costlier than others I would still recommend this.

U get a Vaio after all. SO anyone who is looking for a nice Notebook, go and buy this one. I got a wonderful Vaio bag with this, unlike in the case of Inspiron where the Dell charges extra for even a small utility.

Its configuration is 80 GB Hard Disk,512 MB RAM,Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHz processor. But I have made it to 2 GB RAM and 80 GB External Hard Disk. While writing to you I am using the same laptop with an External Key Board of I Ball.

I want to mention that Indian edition is cheaper than the foreign edition.I have heard from un-confirmed sources that there is quality difference between the two.

The Note book came with Window XP Operating system and few utilities softwares like the Roxio CD writer,Adobe reader,Sony Utility softwares which was of not much use to me.

For me Roxio was not that impressive so I installed Nero and it was quite good.

Initially for the Internet I used Plug 2 Surf Device of TATA Indicom and it worked satisfactorily on this system as a good Dial up speed.Later BSNL Broadband is working good.

I didn`t upgrade from Desktop to laptop.Hence I used this laptop initially for learning purpose also.I had a huge craze to learn as early as possible.I was keeping the system ON sometimes 15 hours at a stretch. The laptop never had problem of heating etc.

This laptop is up to Vista compatible only. But after learning the various astonishing features of Window 7 I installed it.Believe me it`s working perfectly OK except I can not vary the screen brightness.

Overall in last 30 months I have a feeling that I got return for each penny of money used to procure it.

Pathetic Sony service centre

Overall I have a few comments on Sony centre at Rajajinagar, Ist block and Sony service centre near Navrang.

-The members have zero technical knowledge on the products displayed neither marketing skills nor courtesy of speaking. For eg, When asked about specifications of a product, I was asked to see the display card myself. They are busy in their own world not attending any customers.

-There is zero responsibility from them when you have any sort of problems with the product

-The service centre is pathetic with totally careless management. No follow up or courtesy of conduct

-Overall the brand cannot live upto its name if the management is so careless with centres like this.

Here goes the detailed story,

I bought a Sony NW series laptop for personal use from Sony centre, Ist block Rajajinagar.

I went in for this version since, I wanted basic configurations and not some hi-funda stuff, suiting my personal needs.

The first piece delivered switched on only for the first time.

Later when checked rebooting was found defective, some major hardware problem.

The system refused to boot up.

Went to the Sony centre and got it replaced, with another piece which was running for some time as a demo piece.

This one worked ok, but there was blue tooth issue, for which when I enquired they asked me to contact the service centre as they cannot do anything about software issues.

I went to the service centre near Navrang and the lady there took it .She asked me to come and collect it later as she had to send it to the main centre somewhere in mysore road. She told she will callme back regarding the same.

I called up further on for follow up the next day for which I was told it might be a hardware problem or driver problem, still not sure.

This went on for a week. Finally one day when I called , the lady there confused me for another customer and started saying the piece was defective and cannot be replaced and stuff like that.

She didnt even enquire about the complaint id and went on with her talk not allowing me to speak.

Finally when I realised and told her that I was not the person she is intending to clarify all this, she started abusing me.

With a new piece of laptop bought for 35K, here I was roaming around to get it serviced already.

After my followup for days and perstering I got my laptop formatted completely, since the driver software was corrupted.
