Oct 16, 2022 11:38 AM 292 Views (via Mobile)

I wanted to support make in India hence bought this crap laptop. Life was hell with it. As soon as I taken it...keyboard issue .. Service center kept it for 1 month but didnt repaired. I got replacement after too many hastles. Replaced laptop has same issues. But till that time my warranty lapsed. And promise of 1 year full warranty forgotten by service manager. I paid and got repaired. Few days it worked. Than another issue of battery. Now it is not charging. When contacted cs, they said to send it to Andhra Pradesh

One of the worst after sales. Am having a 1310 and facing huge issues on charging... The adaptor is not working not the battery is charging... The laptop is a price of junk...

When called the customer aervice am been asked to send the laptop to Anantpur... The guys answering the calls are very adamant... The guy just hung the phone when I was talking

Anything and everything is only Andra Pradesh...

Looking at the price it's not advisable to buy RDP

RDP Laptops (Thinbook 1310)
Oct 09, 2019 05:17 PM 1191 Views

RDP introduced the Thinbook 1310 through the Affordable Laptop project of IIT Bombay. The product was extensively showcased and had positive reviews from the IIT Bombay Professors. Further, the price of the product was highly competitive. The product was targeted to the students / alumnus of various academic(engineering) institutions. The product comes with 1 year warranty plus two years extended warrant(on payment).

I bought two of these products - both with two years extended warranty, one to be used by self and the other to be used by daughter. Services for the product is offered(at Mumbai) through Sysnet. The product was delivered in October 2018. This review is being written after use of the product for 11 months.

Product feedback:

  • product worth its price, however, the product is not worth the intended regular use.

  • product is too fragile. Upkeep and handling is a constant concern.

  • throws up numerous issue: keyboard, drivers, external hard disk, software; and these occur(as well as repeat) too often.

  • I WOULD NOT BUY THE SAME PRODUCT AGAIN EVEN IF THE SAME IS FREE OF COST.

Service feedback:

  • RDP''s Helpdesk number(040 4816 1111) is rarely responded. All one gets is recorded message''all our executives are busy in other calls, please hold the line''. This goes on endlessly.

  • Closure of a Ticket takes more than 30 days.

  • The resolutions are not effective, therefore, the issues repeat, each time taking more than 30 days.

  • Serviceability levels are unheard of.

  • Initial evaluation / support is offered by RDP over phone. They assess the issue and initiate action through local support. Parts are not stocked locally(even at Mumbai) and are dispatched from Hyderabad.

  • Local support is offered by Sysnet and the Engineers work as per the instructions from RDP.

  • RDP Engineers impose on Sysnet Engineers and many a times the Tickets are closed through irrelevant actions(like just updating the Drivers when the requirement was to change the part - this because the part has not been provided).

  • Sysnet Engineers arrive without prior appointment.

  • One has to plead the Sysnet contact to timely depute the Engineer.

  • Service feedback department calls up post closure of Tickets. This is usually at the receiving end because of the frustration of the Customers.

  • Despite service feedback, NIL improvements observed.

  • A couple of staff from Support sound concerned and apologetic, but this does not improve the service. Extend the rope to them as per their assessment / commitments - at the end they entangle themselves with the same rope and thereafter stop taking the calls.

REGRET HAVING RDP PRODUCT AND SUPPORT.
