Small but powerful..
Nov 07, 2015 06:53 PM 2566 Views

My dad uses this laptop for his office purposes.over the time time I have found various pros and cons.one thing is that this laptop is exceptionally light. The i5 processor is very powerful and its hd display is also good though it is not a gaming laptop still it handles mid ends quite decently.

The bad thing is that its keys are very closely packed which makes it difficult to type.but overall it is a good option and it is a bit overpriced.

Not worth money
Oct 25, 2015 04:24 PM 2958 Views

I have bought e430 around one and half year back. let me tell good and bad in that

good - touch pad. it has extra button to open new tab, extra two buttons for left and right click . comfortable than other laptops

good: extreme good keypad, can good for rough use

good: handling is easy because small in  size

good: long battery

bad: high price compare to specification. not worth of money

bad - track pointing stick. its just useless

bad: battery, hard disk damaged o 13 th month

bad: ram is not enough. hanging

all together: even though for handling and design were good, its not worth money

Awesome laptop.....

I've had my Lenovo thinkpad L412 for maybe two years now and I've never had  problems. the battery life is abysmal, but oh well. Several people have complained about their trackpads being defective. I've got to say, I've never had any trouble with mine, and I'm not always the most careful person.

The keyboard layout is great and I absolutely love it, when looking at laptops not many offer a near full size keyboard as it has. It is design  to play, work and many more.

Lenovo Thinkpad L412
Oct 12, 2015 09:37 PM 2779 Views

The Pros

Good keyboard; Durable, environmentally friendly construction; Accurate touchpad; Loud speakers; Excellent Wi-Fi

The Cons

Below average battery life; Mediocre video playback

Verdict

Lenovo's new value-priced business notebook combines an eco-friendly design with solid performance and ergonomics.

nlike the T410, which gives you two different resolution options, the L412's 14-inch LED backlit screen only comes with a resolution of 1366 x 768. Its matte finish had limited reflections, and viewing angles were sufficiently wide for three people sitting side by side. While still images and games looked good, video playback was only mediocre. When watching shows such as Friday Night Lights streamed from Hulu, playback was smooth but contrast was lacking, and dark areas were filled with obvious visual noise and pixelation.

Easy Operationg

As it phases out its SL line of small business notebooks, Lenovo is introducing the L series, which is geared towards the education, government, and large business market.

Taking cues from both the SL and the T series, the L Series might not be as svelte or powerful as the latter, but it's just as durable, comfortable, and secure, and it's nearly as affordable as the former. The L412 is the 14.1-inch member of this family, and its Core i3 processor offers good performance for the target audience. Plus, the design of this system is greener than your average laptop.

Economical, Comfortable and Reliable
Oct 10, 2015 03:16 PM 2691 Views

Elaborately, the L412 appears to be like the resigned SL arrangement; the cover has an all-dark matte completion, media controls and status lights sit with on leg on each side of the console, and a speaker bar is underneath the screen. What makes this scratch pad emerge is that the plastic for the situation and palm rest is made out of up to 30 percent post-buyer waste, which is useful for the earth.

While not as tough as the T410, which has a carbon-fiber fortified body, the ABS plastic used to make the frame of the L412 can withstand a little measure of misuse, including temperature vacillations from - 4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and elevations up to 15, 000 feet. Other sturdiness components incorporate a spill-safe console and zinc-composite pivots.

All that said, the L412 positively isn't the most slender or lightest journal around. It quantifies 13.5 x 9.2 x 1.3-1.4 crawls and measures 5.2 pounds with its standard six-cell battery. The sleeker 5-pound T410 measures 1.1 to 1.3 crawls thick. Still, the L412 is genuinely simple to convey for a 14-incher, and its decreased edges make it look less cumbersome.

The L412 stayed exceptionally cool to the touch. Subsequent to playing 15 minutes of a Hulu video at full screen, it gauged 86 degrees Fahrenheit on the touchpad, 82 degrees between the G and H keys, and 88 degrees on the underside. All are well beneath what we consider uncomfortable.

Generally speaking as a modest distinct option for the ThinkPad T arrangement, the L412 has all that anyone could need power for understudies or specialists who are searching for the solace and unwavering quality of a Lenovo framework, however longing something more prudent. While we wish its battery life was a touch longer, the L412 has a lot of force for regular office or classroom errands, and its security and sturdiness is on a standard with more costly frameworks. For not exactly$900, the L412 conveys a lot of quality.

Lenovo Thinkpad L412
Sep 15, 2015 01:04 PM 2925 Views

I have purchased lenovo thinkpad L412 last 5 month ago. my personally experience for this thinkpad is very useful for me.

The new Lenovo ThinkPad L412 is a 14-inch affordable price business-focused laptop. It feature high performance with the latest Intel processing technologies. It is very good looking with decent specification. Its latest version of Intel core i3 & i5 processors with turbo boost & hyperthreading technology. This is wireless connectivity options. Its multitouch  touchpad. This thinkpad battery life is  upto 8 hours.Really this product of all specification is very good & helpful. When I using this thinkpad not facing a heating issue this is very smooth thinkpad. its a great thinkpad and responsive to multitouch gestures.

The speakers, which are located underneath the screen, are fairly loud. This is useful, perhaps, if I have planning on giving to me presentations that include audio off of this laptop. It has decent to me multimedia playback for those long business trips.

Think before you bag this Thinkpad

While working at my current office, we were all provided with the Lenovo Thinkpad T400. Initially it looked like a really sturdy laptop which does its job really well. But after using it for quite some time I started having really different opinions about it.

Let me start of with some of the good features of the laptop. It is most certainly fast. I've compared it to my personal laptop which I also use at work and it is definitely much faster thanks to the RAM it has.

Another thing good about it is the fact it has sufficient amount of ports to plug in various USB drives.

Now, the negatives. The laptop is NOT as strong as it looks. Before I even got my laptop there was a crack in the panel beside my display. It was quite annoying to hear it rattling every time I open my laptop.

The uncomfortable or inconvenient positioning of the Ctrl button is also quite annoying. We are all used to the Ctrl button being the lowest and left most key, but here it is another button, and that annoys the quick button users like me.

Another thing I did not like about the laptop is the fact that the screen resolution or the brightness is not that great, at least in my laptop. I sometimes have to squint to see it properly and this is despite putting it at the maximum brightness display.

All in all, I wouldn't recommend this laptop to anybody as it is quite expensive and very fragile in nature.

Professional laptop

The Thinkpad T420 is a solid machine in terms of build and computing performance.I am running windows 7 with this machine. The laptop is vary reliable with heavy computing tasks.

Before that I am using Asus eee pc.Due to performance issue I brought this product.

This laptop has a core-i5 processor with 4 GB ram-it will make a great work to machine to do heavy computing tasks.

Keyboard is great, screen is bright(HD resolution does the job), build quality is excellent, trackpad and buttons are comfortable, battery(depending on what kind you get) will long lasting in my case(3 to 5 hrs in my case). It will give you better performance if you are using external cooling pad with this product. This is very good laptop all kind of professional work.

Think before you buy this
Jul 31, 2015 01:34 PM 3109 Views

This is one high end laptop that I would want is a gift not to buy one .It is ultra portable with weight less than 3 pounds and is dead slim at 17.72mm.

So in fact it is the slimmest and lightest in 14" notebooks . Battery seems to last for 6-7 hours depending on the usage and settings though company claims 9 hours .

It also comes with something called as rapid charge technology which helps you charge faster . The keyboard layout is a major letdown as you start using it .It comes powered with the 4th gen inteli7 4600u and 8gb ram . The best thing is the anti-glare screen which is absolutely great when working outdoors or in office . It comes with a 3 year warranty and is best gadget you can own but I would still go for a apple macbook pro or air

Lenovo Thinkpad T60 - A wonder
Jul 10, 2015 11:15 PM 2796 Views

This product which I have is actually a wonder. I had purchased 3 Lenovo laptop for my family members. The other two are total failures. This T60 model I had purchased 8 years ago, in 2007. At that time it had cost around nearly Rs.1lakh.

Except replaced battery twice, there has been no problem so far. It is really amazing for a laptop to run for so many years. Still it is working perfectly.

The OS is Windows XP Professional. Daily I use it for 12 to 15 hours, on working days. It is difficult to believe it but it is the truth. Except for this one all other Lenovo products gave me bitter experiences only. Another indicator of success of this T60 model is that this is one of the rarest model for which Lenovo provides a 3 year guarantee, (usual guarantee for laptops is only one year). Kudos to Lenovo T60 laptop.

Gaming Legend

Today am going to review about Lenovo ThinkPad Ultraportable X240 which I bought last month from lenovo official online store.

I am love with this device. I can spend hours of time playing, surfing and chatting, i think this is the basic need of a teenagers. Thinkpad provides all bunch of features in a single device and made it ultaportable. I think device get this name because of its compact screen and massive RAM. Thinkpad is thin and light and the vPro gives you ultimate in manageability. Hence this is called as Ultraport.

Now lets start with the highlights of product:

  • The device  packs in 12.5 inch screen supporting HD display resolution

-  Powered by 6 cell battery module, offers upto 9 hours of continued usage

-  I read on official site that the ThinkPad packs in a touchpad with trackpoint support followed by the backlit keyboard.

  • This is 64 bits machines runs windows 8

-  Thinkpad features GIgabit LAN connectivity in addition to the VGA port and multiple ports.

Hardware Specs

  • The ThinkPad features the intel core i5 processor that clocks at 1.6Ghz.

  • Device also supports Turbo Boost Mode, that offers clock speed upto 2.6Ghz

  • 3MB of cache memory for faster computing.

  • 4 GB DDR3 RAM is supplied with the notebook assisting the processor with multitasking

  • 500 GB internal storage

  • Gaming need are taken care of by the Intel HD 4400 GPU.

Overview: It has been around one month of using this device I have no complains regarding lags or slowing down of device, no matter how graphic intensive game I play.

Price is 80k.

Not upto mark. Could have been better.

I always had the impression that lenovo thinkpads are tough and sturdy with great performance. I have used Lenovo laptops before and thoroughly liked them but I can't say the same about Lenovo T440 model. I will say I am a little bit disappointed with the product as it didnot meet my expectations.

Looks-vise, I prefer simple looking laptops. This one is very professional looking one so I like it. It has got a really good configuration. Intel i5 vPro processor, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD. No dedicated graphics card is a negative.

Performance wise it is really good. Fast and efficient. It is lightweight so it is easy to carry around. Battery backup is really good.

The things I don't like is that it didn't come with a DVD Drive. Most irritating thing about it is that the touch pad is sensitive even on the button area so whenever you click or right click, the mouse pointer moves which causes problems while selecting menus which are kept very close to each other and the touchpad is very large. Intentionally or unintentionally, you keep on touching it with your palm and the pointer runs somewhere else. Otherwise it is a good laptop.

I finally got an upgrade to my IBM ThinkPad T410 from Lenovo that I have been using for Work purpose, & it’s the New ThinkPad L450 that I have be using for over a month now.

I must say I am very happy with its performance, clean & clear resolution, with a in-built 8GB RAM, it’s got a superb smooth & sensitive touchpad, overall I found this very light as compared to its predecessors & am very happy with it.

Not a good buy
Jun 13, 2015 05:38 PM 2437 Views

I currently use the lenovo thinkpad e430 laptop, which ive reviewed on this site, the E431 is the next iteration of that. When I went to buy the e430 about two years back the shop owner had informed about the impending release of e431, so I had done a little research into it, and what I am sharing here is that and not my first hand experience.

From what I could understand except from the increase in number from 430 to 431 nothing has improved and a few things have gone down too, including reduction of usb 3.0 ports from 3 to 2 and the absence of extra left middle and right mouse buttons above the scroll pad and also from reviews ive read the battery life has also gone down. And all the usb ports are black. In 430 usb2.0 was yellow and usb3.0 blue like in many other devices.

And everthing else is just the same, the design the keyboard, display and the like. The e430 initially came out with 2nd gen I series processor but the current ones including mine are 3rd gen, the same processors are provided for e431.

Also the cons of e430 are applicable here too including higher cost for similar specs when compared to entertainment laps but here too it is justified by the better built quality and thinkpad brand name. Also the warranty cost nearly 8k for one year extension and 15k for 2 years, which is too much. The absence of capslock indicator is another problem present here too.

But if you look over the cons the laptop is overall good and it has most of the hardware features for common person and has good software support. Here too these are applicable to the e430 also and e430 being older model can secure you better deal. In short if you are on a budget and require a business laptop and like the thinkpad name and e430 is not available then buy this. Or else stay away.

Beginners business laptop
Jun 13, 2015 04:56 PM 3906 Views

I was using Toshiba m500, which is a high end multimedia laptop for over three years without any hiccup when all of a sudden it when dead, Diagnosis revealed that the board had short circuited due to over current. It was a time nearing my thesis presentation and I faced a lot of issues due to it. so when I went in the market for a replacement laptop, reliability was at the top of the list and also as I was nearing the end of my student year I wanted a professional looking laptop also as the replacement was sudden and unplanned I was bit short on budget.

After doing some research I found the thinkpad e430 with i5 processor and dos perfectly. Thinkpad is a name associated with business laptop, once a product of ibm it is now under lenovo, and ithas value value than other lenovo products. The additional features on the product were also amazing. I visited a local dealer of lenovo, that is how bought the thinkpad e430.

The product I bought had  3rd gen Intel i5 3320 processor 2 gb ddr3 ram(upgraded to 4gb) and 500gb sata hard disk. e430 is also available in 3rd gen i3 and i7 and I also have seen models with 2nd gen I series processors. It comes with a finger print reader. The scroll pad has three extra buttons at top, which acts as left right and middle mouse buttons along with there is the usual left are right buttons also at the bottom of the pad, although as they are part of the pad and not separate buttons one doesn't easily spot it. The touch pad supports multi-touch, also there is the trade mark red trackpoint, even though kept for tradition is still functional, in short there is a plethora of options for navigation even without connection the mouse. The display is 14 inch with 1366x768 resolution and is anti-glare, it is a pretty good display. The keyboard is also of nice quality and easy to type, A feature one will easily note is the fn key  and left ctrl are switched when compared to normal keyboard all the f1-f12 operation is also reversed, that is the other feature of fn keys like volume up down and brightness etc are default, which is a nice feature. The product has 3 usb 3 ports and 1 usb 2 and the usb 2 is always on aids in usb sleep and charge, The various other standard port are also available. Overall most of the hardware required is present.

The system came with dos, the drivers for windows are available online. although I personally use ubuntu and the various features of the lap are fully supported.

Coming to cons the major one is the price, it doesn't have the performance of a similary priced entertainment laptop, though this is explained by its better built quality and also brand value. also due to the built quality it is on a heavier side. Another cost factor is warranty, extension for 1 year cost nearly 8k including tax and 15k for 2 years. that is ridiculous for a 40k laptop and even high lap only cost 5-6 k for 2 year extension and also ive heard spares are costly out of warranty and hard to come by Luckily for me no trouble has been caused in 2 years of use. Another is absence of caps lock display, which is a major problem when entering passwords . not only caps lock light but except for on light that blinks when in sleep and a lan port light there are no other light indicators.

Overall if you are someone looking for business laptop with built quality and is short on budget I would suggest you this. Else there many other options for you.

Lenovo T420 laptop - All IT industries like it
Jun 01, 2015 05:35 PM 4491 Views

The T420 looks almost much like what ThinkPads have always looked like. It’s a classic design that places function overall. The fit and finish is consistent all over – it has no rough edges and gaps between the various pieces are the same.It has a matte texture which is scratch-resistant and does not show fingerprints/dust. I see most of the IT company recommend this Laptop.

Nowadays you can also get these Laptop for Personal use as well.

Lenovo Thinkpad T420 comes with 4GB RAM, Windonws 7 Professional OS. 320GB HDD and Intel Core i5 processor.

For personal use one can spend upto Rs.50000 + some accessories as well. So think it is nice laptop in market.
