Bad Review
Am sharing my personal experience.
Talking regarding the inverters we generally use when ever we need to swith between power. Once I purchased this for some around 5k.
I switched on the inverter when I got too much work, suddenly some flashing sound heard by me. My laptop got crashed by this incident.
Coming to the specification of this inverter, It doesn't support Automatic Self test feature that basically helps us to detect the battery life of the inverter. It lags in this part. It doesn't support power conditioning and self adjustable voltage feature which is intended to protect the inverter from any sudden voltage changes in the houses.
The durability is too short, due to the lagging of the above features it fell short too early. Not worthy for the amount you pay. It takes too much recharge time.

April 2008
I stay in Thane district. Two-to-Four hours of Power Outage is a daily part & parcel of my life. I had thought of an alternative for my power needs. I saw APC 800VA UPS at my brothers place and it work well for him according to his experience. I too decided to purchase the same. The dealer was my brother's friend and he gave me the same UPS with PrestoLite 12V 120Ah battery and being my brother's friend I was least bothered about the bill and warranty.
The UPS worked fine for 6 months and truly awesome backup. One fine day the UPS gave in, it only worked for 10 minutes and decreased to almost nuthing. I contacted my bro's friend, he said that he will visit and check the UPS. He never showed up. I finally decided to contact APC Customer Service and spoke to them. I told my dilemma and the lady asked me for bill details and I had none. She was kind enough to ask me other details like the UPS serial number and some other code on it. I gave her the same. To my surprise the UPS at my place was purchased by some other person in my area and the purchased date was September 2007. I was sweating within seconds. I started thinking about the stupidity I made by not taking bill and warranty documents. Still the product being from APC the CS lady booked my call for repair and sent me the service person. He checked the UPS and concluded that the whole apparatus needs to be replaced. Again the story was being told to service person. He suggested to call customer service to get the UPS registered under my name. Until that time he wont be able to write a report. I asked them how is this possible to transfer some others UPS under my name. He had no explanation just told me to call customer service. I called and told the whole story again. The Lady CS was happy enough to register the UPS under my name. I asked her about the possibility of the other person calling in for the same UPS, she said it wont happen becoz every UPS has a unique code and either the UPS has been replaced for the other person with a new one and I(might have been) fooled by my bro's friend. So the UPS got registered under my name and the service person wrote a report and sent it to APC. After three days the UPS and Battery got replaced The date was again April 2009. This time it was a new UPS and AMCO 12v 120Ah battery. I was happy that it got replaced but tired of the amount of frustration caused.
October 2009
The UPS worked fine till recently the same service person showed up becoz my dad gave him a call before to top-up the acid level in the battery. he was late and this time we contacted the service person directly without the APC customer service. He topped up and cleaned everything.
(BAD LUCK FOLLOWS)
The Back-Up gradually reduced for 4hrs to 2hrs and now its hardly 10min. We summoned the service person. He inspected and concluded that the battery needs to be replaced. WTF? The thing doesnt work for more than 6 months. I told him about the warranty thing and he said as a good will he had make a fake report of the UPS and had got the UPS replaced. He never clarified that to us before. I was in soup again. Now I m taking a follow up of things and got it crossed checked from other local UPS dealers. They are also concluding that the battery needs to be replaced. Why am I having such a hard time with APC I dont knw?
