Very low internet speed!

I used Tata Indicom few years ago and never got a decent speed. When I first bought their ISP connection it offered me poor network coverage. Worse was the connection never had any reliability as it often got disconnected automatically. They did have competitive tariff rates and that's one of the reasons I chose their service only to be left disappointed. Their customer support was pathetic and everytime I complained about the poor internet connectivity, they request me to change certain settings but the problems still remained after that.

Today I want to talk about Tata Indicom broadband service provider Tata Indicom does not have very good network connection in India so I will give an star to network connection of Tata Indicom and I suggest you if you want best net connection you should not go for tataindicom . Most important thing is customer service they are not giving very good customer service in compare to other broadband service providers I will give only one or two stars to customer service of Tata Indicom and I suggest you if you want good customer service go for Tikona. . . . .

I have 3 tata Indicom handset CDMA set. First phone of my life was TATA INDICOM. But unfortunately these days its network not works properly.maximum times its network displays * .


Therefore I had ported one sim into BSNL out of three sims. Another if one sim is expired. It doesn't revives further. The company must care to his customer.

I was using Tata Photon almost a year ago and as I migrated to some other place I disconnected the services. I paid the last bill which was pending but Tata keeps on mailing the new bills every day adding the outstanding amount. Tata is known for trust but now we can say that Tata was known for trust. It was a 2G plan. Few days back I got a call from Solapur branch and they threatened me by sue it to the court. Tata has gone to such a morbid stage that they going to launch a civil case for 450 bucks. I still paid it but the attrocity is even after paying that they are generating new bills and bombarding it on daily basis.


My sincere request is, if you are planning to get a new internet connection drop out the option of Tata and then make a selective list. They are very unethical with there billing pattern.

Hi All,


I have raised a complaint 418169823 0n 4/6/2014 for connection not working after 5 days this complaint is closed without any resolution.


When I checked with customer care they told I am not reachable, however I received lots of calls from others.


Now they are asking to raise new complaint and don't know how many days it will required to get the attention.


Please please please don't go for tata broadband for any reason.instead if you don't have a connection it will be helpful rather than to get frustrated with such service.

Docomo Broadband:Very Pathetic Initial Servive

I have applied for new broadband connection of Docomo in first week of March where I was assured that I would get new connection in a day or two. However, on calling a guy who collected documents, he asked me to wait for few more days since technical team has reported some bandwidth issue.


I called upon technical team and one of technician assured me that they would try to arrange connection in a month. I have drafted a mail to him too with issue that is being faced and asked him to work on it. Already 2 months has been passed with no prominent improvement. When I again called technician, he seems to be more helpless and un-supportive. He said that he had already forwarded my mail to higher authority but they are still in discussion.


This is really pathetic that even after waiting for two months, technicians are not ready to work on bandwidh problem and resolve this issue to get few more connections. They are providing very poor and slow services to customers. It seems that these people are really unworthy and playing with Tata Docomo's image and services. If such services will continue then it would be very difficult for Docomo service provider to gain new connections in future.


I request Docomo service providers higher authority to take care of such issues and attend it on priority to serve maximum customers.


Bitter experience with Tata Communications, Mumbai

I was having Broadband connection from Tata Communications, Mumbai, since more than 10 years. They suddenly decided to stop my broadband connection & got 3 days notice, that to when asked. I was offered 5 MB box in place of 50 MB of with Broadband connection, with the option to enhance box size to 50 MB button paying hefty rentals of Rs 450 per month.


In 3 days time, I could move out major data. Only 3 MB was balance which I presumed will be transferred to my new box of 5 MB capacity. Tata Communications deleted data without intimating or cautioning me before deleting!


Response to complaints on subject matter was ruthless even from Applet Authority. They don’t bother even to read complaint properly.

The most pathetic service provider in the country is TATA Indicom BROADBAND. Please I suggest do not ever approach this ISP for services. The customer care service is so pathetic every time you call they say your service request will be solved in 6 hours but nothing happens.


Once I called for another reason even the internet was on they said your internet will be on in next 6 hours. They have one answer to every thing.

From last 2 months, I raised more than 8 complaints about service breakdown. In last 1 week, I raised around 3 complaints. Every time, they have been taking more than 10-12 hours for resolving issue. Reason of failure is only single one "Our local server is down". But nobody interesting to provide proper resolution, reason for same.


When I escalate these complaints to Nodal officer and appellate authority, I didn't get single reply from them. Means escalation is useless too. Officers are sitting like deaf and dump. I asked about compensation about my failure time period then they are replied me, if breakdown for 3 constant days then and they would consider claim otherwise not. But in my case, most of every day they are providing only 3-5 hours stable service and rest of time it found dead. When I informed these all things with all ticket numbers but didn't get single reply from them. I am using higher cost plan.


I think, I need to consider about another service provider and forget about Tata. Means we need to say Tata to Tata for broadband service. It is most ridiculous and horrible internet service provider. They have customer care unit with no-customer no-care. Most hopeless and worst internet service provider in my life.


Don't go with them. I am giving them 0 out of 10.

Tata broadband service is like all other TATA products, lot of name and lot of problems. Before thinking of speed you will have all the problems to get connected to network. If you are lucky to get the network, forget of doing any meaningful work. Simply no any page will open before 3 minutes. The call centre people will be of no help. Poor quality of device will make it soon ugly or may be unusable.  So, say TATA Bye Bye to TATA.

My  net was  down since one week and even after repeated calls no one attended. I'm  calling daily like a fool. To my surprise I cam to know that the  complaint has been closed without resolving the issue.


I wonder how can they close the issue, without my concern. I haven't seen such a worst kind of service in entire India.


What I noticed they closing the complaints at their own will, no matter  they are resolved or not. None of the tech team will visit the client  location. Says stories. All false promises. Cheating customtakeouters.


The worst thing is that we can't allowed to contact their higher authorities. So your issues can't be escalated.


People don't go for Tata services, its full of waste, time, money and health as well.

The customer service sucks

I am using Tata Broadband service since last 5 months. The service goes quite well, but recently when the problem started, I called up the customer care. They told me that the problem cannot be resolved right now and that I will be contacted within 2 days.


No call came, and then I called up after 4 days, then the customer care people disconnected my phone after receiving and after checking all the security checks ( which are irritating, if u answer more than 3 times) 3 times my call was disconnected. So, I sent a mail to the customer care mail id. Next day came an e-mail saying that they tried to contact me in my old number (which I have already dumped, and I updated the same 1and half months ago) I replied to the mail giving my new number.


Next day again I got a reply saying they tried to contact me in my old number. When ever I replied to them they always tried to contact me in my old number. ( It happened 4 times). And now my service is going to expire, then they have my new number. Someone called up to make a payment for uninterrupted service.My problem still remains unsolved.

I recently upgraded my TATA DSL broadband connection from a 256 kbps to 512 kbps plan. The service was phenomenal for the 1st 1 week after which the experience nose dived for the worst.


The router would constantly disconnect every 5 minutes! When I called up customer service on Friday Jan1, 2010 the service rep told me my problem would be resolved in 12 hours.


After 24 hours my problem was still not solved+ no engineer come to my residence even after I took a day off work so I could be at home for the engineer to come! When I called up customer service - they told me that Jan 1st was a non-working day and that my 12 hours window was still open! What rubbish! Like hello - your clock begins the moment I register a complaint!


The least they could have done was to inform me that the 1st was a non-working day and that my complaint would be attended to the next day!

Bad Experience with Tata indicom WiMax - Hyderabad

I am having a WiMax connection from TataIndicom from last 2 months, paid advance for 4 months and was informed that tata indicom is not charging any installation charges for corporate connections. I have applied for 750 kbps connection and never got satisfactory speeds (most of the time it was < 100 kbps) and after raising numerous requests to customer care nobody was turning up to solve it.


After one month of struggle technician blessed me with his visit and came to know that problem was with the installation and the Antenna is not receiving the connection properly at second floor in my balcony. so the guy took it to the terrace. It was a small antenna and technician didn't fixed the screws to any of the wall but tied it to a pole. After a week it was stolen when I was not at home in Diwali vacations.


And when I have asked for a replacement then I was shocked by the reply that I need to pay 7000 bucks from my pocket for the antenna, moreover Customer Care guy was threating me for taking a legal action against me.This is ridiculous, it was never mentioned that I have to pay for a inventory that is installed for Service Provider's convenience as with WiMax connections they do not need to lay wires and provide DLC hubs in localities. I didn't ask for a WiMax but it is companies policy that they install only wiMax from now onwards but won't pay for the inventory that they are going to use. I am really pissed over by the pathetic service and the damn policies of Tata Indicom.




  1. I was not informed that I have to stand on my terrace 24 hours to keep an eye on it.




  2. wiMax was not my preference, I have asked for a broadband service but as Tataindicom only provide wiMax these days so the installation was done. So it was not my decision to go with wimax it was tata indicom's decision.




  3. earlier the antenna was installed in my balcony but due to poor reception somehow I managed to install it on terrace. So again to install it on terrace was not my decision and it was a compulsion as antennas are so poor in receiving reception.




  4. Inventory cost has to borne by service provider and why should the end user have to pay this amount. Lets say if instead of wiMax it was a wire line connection and a DLC box would have been installed in my apartment and if that gets stolen then it is not the end user who has to pay for it.




  5. Moreover it was due to the careless installation of the antenna that it easily got stolen.And after paying 6840 bucks in advance I am sitting here without internet from past 3 weeks.

I do not know why my validity is not being automatically extended due to the local server outages.


It has really been a pain to call customer care and hold the line for more than 10 minutes each time, just to get the line trough. Numerous times the call had to be escalated to the floor suprevisors and then to the manager. Followup with the local engineers and technicians every time. On an average I have spent more than 30 minutes per complaint and 6+ hours on the phone. No customer service manager in coimbatore to talk to in person


Now the most Ridiculous thing the billing guys tell me after I call them is, TATA Communications will give credit time only if the SERVICE OUTAGE is for more than 72 HOURS. THEY THINK THE CUSTOMER IS A DUMB GUY!

I had purchased the USB modem an year or more ago. But within the warranty period it got repaired and I took it to their servicing centre. The servicing guys kept the modem for 2 weeks, did not diagnose the problem at all and returned it saying it is working properly(unfortunately I sent someone else to take the modem and he didnt check properly).


When I complained that the problem is still there, they told me to take it back to the centre. By this time there was only 2 weeks left for the warranty period and the place is quite far away. I was very busy these two weeks and could not take it. Finally when took to another centre they said the ENTIRE modem is gone and I need to replace it!


when I called the tata call centre the reply I recvd was pathetic.they were talking about payment options for the new device! What a naive guys these are. They delayed repair and put it out of warranty period aking me to replace the modem with some cool payment options.


MY ADVICE.DO NOT GO FOR TATA INDICOM MODEM.if it works properly, then it will be good.once any repair and forget it.they will ask you to replace entire modem.!

I am a recent user of Tata photon+ broadband service and to my horror, I found Tata the most pathetic service provider and a bunch of cheats no one to listen to your woes.


They promised me 2 months of free service 10gb download free per month, but on the fourth day they barred my service without giving me a notice and when I called their call centre they told that I have downloaded more than 10gb so I was billed, to which I try to reason with him, I told how is this possible with the 3.1mbps speed, even if I am connected day & night downloading I will not be able to achieve this target in three days. Then he told me to visit their gallery which I did, there they told me that there is a bill of Rs.1304/- pending against me that's why my connection is barred.


So I reminded him as to how is it possible if I am free for upto 20gb or two months. He couldnt explain to me satisfactorily. He told me that a person named Chandan had called me to update me of the situation which was totally a lie. I asked him which number did he called me onto, he sidelined my query and said that I was lying, to which I felt so hopelessly sad. Then I asked him to atleast give me a name and number where I can put my grievance after much persuation he gave a number, to my horror when I called this number the lady behind the line just refused to listen to me saying that I have to complaint on the normal call centre first and then call her I kept on repeating that I had already done that, then she told me to get a docket number for my complaint from the call centre.


But the call centre lady was not ready to give me docket number she kept on repeating this will not happen in future, to which I asked her what about the 1304 bill which I have paid will it be adusted in my account to which she told me no, after much axplaining she gave me a reference number instead of docket number. My advice to all my fellow citizen don't buy any Tata product. This company is nothing but cheat.

TATA Indicom USB pathetic billing system

I purchased TATA indicom USB last month by paying Rs 3000/- as rentals and 3 months free subscription. However, to my surprise I received a bill from the company stating to pay **RS 2/- towards service charge and failing pay Rs 2/- they would levy a penalty of Rs 102/- on the bill amonut.


It sounds ridiculous to pay RS 2/- as service charge for which you need to visit their centre to do so. I fail to understand one simple thing the company does not have any good brains working with them to design the rental or billing system in place to cover that Rs2/-. Over and above that they want customers to pay Rs 102/-, which means Rs100/- as penalty for not paying Rs 2/-.


Tata Indicom has gone out ot their head by asking customer to travel to their centre by wasting time and money to complete the transaction. their representative in chembur centre too was arrogant and insisting on paying Rs2/- or their collection person too was insisting on paying Rs 2/- towards the bill amount.


Is anyone sensible available in the company to reply and justify Rs 2/-.

Tata Indicom recently launched their services in Assam and somwhere I saw the AD of PLUG2SURF, where I could surf the net all over India through a USB modem with a speed of 156 KBPS..( Sounded QUITE INTRESTING)...


I visited their store and they promised me a surfing speed of atleast 100 KBPS even during peak Hours plus they were running a campaign where by I could surf the Net for 2 Months absolutely Free. I was quite excited and immediately got one.


After the verification ( it took them 4 Days ) to verify my Address after which they activated my A/c.Now come to the Speed Factor. They promised me a speed of 100KBPS but trust me it nowhere near it. THe average speed is just 20 KBPS. It takes hours for a Web page to load.


TYPE THE WEB ADDRESS and Wait very patiently for the website to open.THEN COME THE TWO MONTHS FREE FACTOR. I got the greatest shock of my life when I oppened the MY Account Section on their website and saw a Unbilled usage of Rs.840. I called up their Customer Care Center, again what a waste the worst customer care I ever experinced in my life. Can't speak properly ENglish, assamese or even hindi..THUS MY MONEY GOES INTO VAIN.....So Guys please avoid TATA INDICOM PLUg2 Surf........

One year back I renews internet services from Tata indicom for anther one year under their scheme 6000 package. The year completed and there was a balance of Rs.2870.00 towards unused internet.


When customer service guy was contacted, he told me that you can re validate for another 3 or 6 months and you have to pay minimum Rs 1010 as re validation charges. I replied the customer service guy that Rs 2870.00 worth of internet was not used.


How you can charge additionally for the duration of 3 or 6 months on the pretext of re validation. I told him your scheme is anti- customer and you need to improve the conditions so that it may become more attractive to the customer. I refused to re validate and ask them to return Rs 2870.00, unused amount to me. Till date no response from that side.


While formulating this kind of scheme M/S Tata & co should have given thought to this kind of problem may arise in future dealings. This scheme is one sided , only beneficial to the owner .They must change their attitude towards customer. They are there to earn money without providing ample opportunity to the cutomer. THis is a cheating.
