Photon Max Wifi

Photo max wifi is the worst wifi. I was using this wifi there for I known how bad this wifi is. This wifi is worst wifi from all wifi. This wifi signal is very bad.

I am using photon max wifi form past 2 years. It is worst service provider as compared to other service providers. It dongle also disconnects every time rapidly. Every time I contacted to its customer care but but satisfactory answer was given by its executives. Also they have no knowledge about to resolve the problem. I mistakenly bought this device after seeing the ads on internet and after buying it I repent for this.

Speed of ISP connection: Its speed is very slow and not as much as they told in their ads.

Connection Reliability: It disconnects every time when I connects it to my mobile through wifi.

Service & Support: Its Service and support is very poor.

I will not recommend this to anyone to buy this.

I purchased a tata max wifi in Nov, 2014 and using for 7 months . Last 6 months was good, because it produces 40% of  actual speed to my location at Barrackpore area.But, from 13th of May wifi dongle speed came down to 250 kbps to 300 kbps( Actual speed as advertised by tata docomo is 6.2 Mpbs for 5 devices at a time), which is 5% of actual advertised speed.I never got 6.2 MBPS speed in last 7months.

After complaining, they told me I will never get that previous 40% speed now on.  I have decided to leave tata docomo forever.Now the wifi Dongle is a burden of Rs.2000/- on me after use for 6 months! You people justify!

I have bought TATA Photon max wifi prepaid 2 days ago and its activated yesterday. It provides maximum of 9 mbps of speed and am getting 3-5 mbps(according to sppedtest.net results) in all devices within a room(like laptop, mobile etc) in Najafgarh, Delhi.

In other rooms, its approx 1-2 mbps speed. Its a wireless device so we cannot say it bad if we dont get speed coz it depends upon the network coverage of your area. If you get full signal in your tata phone it doesn't means photon will also works in full swing in your area.

For those of you who plan to take a Tata Photon 3G wi-fi stick, beware of the max speeds claim of 21.1MbPS.

I have an official mail from Tata Docomo that states the max speed will only by 3.1 MBps.The official mail says that the minimum assured speed is of 512 kBps.

The customer rep who called me after I lodged a complaint is that I should find this acceptable. Why does a brand like Tata claim such speeds?

I get higher 3g speeds on my airtel 3g mobile phone when tested with speed test.

First thing I would like to point out is that please beware of tata communication services If you want to save your money, energy and esteem. These customer service peoples are shameless and there is no point of explaining your technical issues to them. They contact you only to close the service request even if you are still facing the issue. They blindly close the requests raised by customers without proper confirmation and saying that issue has been resolved.

I have taken the wifi max photon 3g connection(10G plan) . When I took this plan they promised that I will get more than 3mbps-6mbps. They assured that during heavy peak time also the speed will not go below 3mbps. I am staying in a main area in Bangalore. There itself I am getting fluctuated signals and speed below 200kbps I have given many complaints to the customer care regarding this.

There final response is even more surprising. " Sir, you are getting 200kbps . right? then what is your problem" they are considering 200kbps as a good speed.

Next person: Sir you are staying in a peak area and you can expect that speed only .(Is that my responsibility to increase the signal strength? If it is a peak area and many people are using it, then it is their problem to provide a good coverage and speed right?

Another person: " Sir if you still facing the problem with speed please change your apartment.: WTF? Should I change my apartment or buy a new one in another area for this bull s h I t thing?

I lost my money, energy and time and one good thing is that they will teach us what the patience is .:p . Shameless peoples. Still confused why the big companies like TATA holding this worst support.

This review is for Tata Photon Max(not the wifi version) used in Gurgaon city. Because there was no data card listed for Max only in mouthshut, I am forced to review Phototon Max under Photon Max wifi.

Basically speed is same in Max and Max wifi, so this review for data speed will hold good. Although, all data service providers claim very high speeds but they say'upto.' which you practically never achieve. So, lets have realistic expectations.

Tata Photon Max(Non-wifi and wifi) claim nearly'upto' 9 mbps but if you talk to customer care, they will tell you that they guarantee only 500kbps(around 0.5 mbps).

My expectation with a data card was 0.5 mbps or higher, that serves the purpose for which I need data card. Your needs may vary so is your expectations!

This is my first day of using it from afternoon to night at 2 locations - Office and home(both in Gurgaon but on NH-8 and Sohna Road respectively).

Download speed: It is varying from 0.9 mbps  to 3.5 mbps, I am yet to get less than 0.9 mbps so it exceeds my realistic expectations.

Upload speed: Varying between 0.5-1.6 mbps, again decent.

Before purchasing Max, I visited mouthshut and saw a lot of negative reviews but dismissed them since lot of people write reviews when they have bad experience but very few people write a review when they have positive experience.

So, don't hesitate, go for it but will highly recommend asking other people near you who are using same. Fortunately, I could find someone in my office with Photon Max and did a speed test before purchase.

Device Price: 600 INR with 6 months commitment in corporate plan, else MRP is 2000.

Data plan: 3GB per month, unlimited but speed capped after 3 GB, INR 550 per month.

I will update this review if I see this device/service perform less than my expectations or significantly higher than present performance in future.

I was a loyal user of Tata Photon and happy with there services for last 2 yrs(Tata Photon+), One day I received a call to upgrade my Photon+ to Photon wifi for better connectivity and better speed, I've seen its advt. and wants a device through which I can connect my laptop and other mobile devices(Prior to this I was sharing my internet through a software).

And believe me guys It was my biggest mistake as soon as I purchased the device it was started getting heated and I need to shut down the device for 10-15 mins before next session.

I've also complained 4-5 times to helpline but all in vain, even 2 times there service engg, visited my home also and recommended me to switch.

Even my 3G mobile sim provides better speed(many times tested on speedtest) So based on my exp. I don't recommend this product from Tata.

Initially I bought photon max wifi,  waited for 3 day for activation after three day they said its not possible to activate your number. Horrible service!They replaced that product after again taking 3 day for activation. After that no speed even less than 2g.

Now I feel one of biggest mistake I ever did was investing 2000. I am from T Nagar Chennai center of the city I am not getting speed. It takes so much time just opening a page.I feel its better I connect with my mobile 2g net I get better speed than this.One of the worst products.Dont purchase it guys.
