Winged Migration Reviews

A fascinating look into a world that is rarely eve

It is easy to look at Winged Migration and simply brand it as a documentary, but after a while of observation pieces start coming together, making the project feel more like a real film.... While there is no direct storyline, the premise is located within the details, and what we get in result is a fascinating look into a world that is rarely ever thought of. Winged Migration took three years in the making; Jacques Perrin, who narrates part of the film and co-directed it, follows various packs of birds as they migrate across the world. However, this feature is not just a standard look at the boring facts dug up from numerous research books, shoveling the information into our minds as if we’re in nature studies class trying to write all this down. Rather than preaching Perrin and staff just let us watch for ourselves, permitting us to be captivated by the visual motif presented, also allowing wonder to be involved as we ponder what it would be like to be one of the flocking seagulls. It’s hard to imagine that this film at times is telling us the story truthfully, technically speaking, as the visual sight can be so wondrous that it creates a fantasy world you almost want to be a part of. Though it would downright suck to have the living span of a typical bird, the world that is presented for their every-day life portrays a certain harmonious chord that really transmits into the viewer. ''The Winged Migration'' - arguably the most beautiful documentary ever made. To be a part of that great adventure in the space with migratory birds, ONE MUST SEE!!!!
