It  is a 2015 Indian romantic drama film written and directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Post this schedule, filming continued briefly in Indian cities—Shimla, Delhi, Gurgaon and Kolkata followed by two-day schedule in Tokyo, Japan. The filming concluded in Mumbai by August 2015.

The film score and soundtrack album are composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics from Irshad Kamil.

This movie I thaught would be good because of the cast like deepika and ranbir but it was very different from expected. I didnt get the plot of the story, it was too ridiculous. I started watching the movie and when it started I thaught that I will get understood the plot if I continued watching and I did so but what happened is that I got so bored that I left the hall about 40 mins before the movie ended.

No plpt, no drama, no suspense nothing in the movie which one would like to watch in a movie. What need to waste your money and time in this utilise it for other activities.

NOT SO IMPRESIVE........
Dec 09, 2015 12:49 AM 3063 Views

Never thought a movie starring Ranbir kapoor and Deepika would be such a bore.

First 15 minutes of movie shows only a song and Movie contributors name.

Alike any other movie story hero meets heroine somewhere outside india. Both enjoys good moments and promises not to meet again.

Funny part is the good moments itself is too boring.

set for another Imtiaz Ali extravaganza - On analyzing Imtiaz Ali film we can see he has an inclination towards characters that are aberrations to societal rules and traditions. They are not anti-social or asocial but are non-conformist in nature.

Be it mild nature Viren Oberoi from Socha Na Tha or cutely hyper Geet from Jab We Met or rebellious Janarthan from Rockstar his protagonists are different who antics influences their contradictory counterparts thus shaping into an unusual love-story. And for someone like me who distants himself from mushy romance are attracted by Imtiaz Ali's characters who comes across as free-spirited and hatke.

To be completely forthright, Tamasha manages something so impeccably theoretical, so powerfully individual, that I question notwithstanding your exceptional execution, its subject would develop. To play a wild and great soul, whose flame and satisfaction, the categorizing and steady loss of day by day life have whittled down, is difficult. The light in your eyes and you're astounding extravagance when we initially meet you in Corsica, as Ved, the confounding explorer, is one that couple of performing artists have possessed the capacity to catch.

The reason was that the makers of Tamasha had chosen to address life's big questions head on.

Never thought a movie starring Ranvir kapoor and Deepika would be such a bore. First 15 minutes of movie shows only a song and Movie contributors name. Alike any other movie story hero meets heroine somewhere outside india. Both enjoys good moments and promises not to meet again.

Funny part is the good moments itself is too boring. Then in India, Role of boredom hero with same daily activities is shown which further bores you. Complete movie is meaningless. I never understood what type of movie it is.

Neither Comedy nor Love and no action. A complete flop movie wherein only Ranvir and Deepika are shown. No other cast has any major role. Neither song of movie is too good to listen.

A very dull and slow meaningless movie which cant be watched till end.

Tamasha- Review From Heart
Dec 08, 2015 05:17 PM 3015 Views

Must watch movie of the year .?#?Tamasha?.

Ranbir Kapoor, whose last film was the box-office dud BOMBAY VELVET, comes up with a lively performance in TAMASHA. He fits into the character like a fish takes to water. His chemistry with Deepika Padukone is extremely likeable, believable and relatable.

At the time of interval movie shows how a lady can change a man's life.what she can do.and then how his world changes.how his emotion changes every moment.how he feels.totally reallastic.the time "agar tum saath ho" starts, makes us emotional.we also feels like tears in our eyes.cause sometimes it matches with some portions of our life.

After that there was so much comedy and crazy things n all.

So this was the full package of romance, comedy, drama.and tamasha.

Tamasha casting ranbir and deepika padukone is surely a onr time watch movie. As I am being a true fan of this pair, I went to watched the movie in the first day of its released. director Imtiaz ali had done a very great direction and acting done by ranbir is awesome.Somewhere the movie do seems to be boring because the same things repeat many a times.Deepika looks beautiful throughout the movie.

The songs are also super cool and everyone has its lyrics on their mouth.

Overall movie is good and you shoulf must watch it once.

Confusion & Frustration - That's it in this movie.
Dec 07, 2015 06:53 PM 2997 Views

In reel and genuine living. Two individuals who have been through harmed and torment and misfortune and disarray have still in some way or another figured out how to be joined and there for one another. Hopefully that you two, as Ved and Tara, locate your open skies to fly unreservedly together. Once more.

To be completely forthright, Tamasha manages something so impeccably theoretical, so powerfully individual, that I question notwithstanding your exceptional execution, its subject would develop. Movie tickets booked because my fiancée is the biggest fan of ranbir kapoor and deepika padukone, but mark my word please don't go for this movie if you are planning to. After interval half of the audience leave the movie and left while someone like us who remembered the movie cost watch the full, but absolutely totally money waste, no story no meaning and even found no chemistry between them in movie.

The story has no sense and may not do better. It's a kind of mixture of two movies.

Dec 06, 2015 02:49 PM 3715 Views (via Android App)

The director Imtiaz Ali tried to do something new. He yried to give something new in concept of love stories but it didn't seem that he succeded perfectly. The story outline was also not clear. But there a 2-3 scenes which are damn enjoyable. The shooting locations are also quite impressing. But the point of interest is lacking in this movie.

It doesn't have a power to attract audience for a longer. Ranbeer kapoor tried his best but was not succeeded as its seem in mobie. Deepika was damn hot. But overall this movie atleast tried to give a new concept of love story though it didnt succeed, but it is appreciable.

I am writing this review while watching this movie and itz very boring. Right now I am in the talkies in big cinemas, I am feeling like to sleep in this comfortable seat.

This movie is suitable to those people who have got frustrated from their job. Not to people like us who love the life and live with what they are.

This movie is of deepika padukone and ranbeer kapoor who acted very good and tried their best to make this movie better. But the story of the movie is good in the bigining but now its getting very board.

The movie is about ranbeer kapoor who lives in a world of story which he used to listen when he was child. But after getting growing up his life changes internally he lives like a robert who daily go to his job come back home slep wak up brush his teeth now I am watching this it looks like edge of tomro.

Only starting it was good but now itz really boring.

Tamasha is the movie I though a typical hindi movie story by watching trailer. But surprisingly this is the whole different story.typical part finish in 1st half which was shot in corcisa france. After interval the story is strong and screen play is also very nice.the climax conversation between ranbir kapoor and his father is epic.perfomance by ranbir kapoor is nice but deepika is outstanding in movie.in music part nothing to say when The A R Rahman is music director! tu koi aur he and tum sath ho are my favourite songs from album but in movie all songs sound cool and on perfect time.Imtiaz ali again done good job.for me its 9/10 and must watch but it may be not every ones' cup of tea

Too filmy, for one time watch movie.
Dec 05, 2015 05:34 PM 3373 Views

Imtiaz Ali's movie means difference in love and romance. But "Jab We Met" is still in our heart. Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar and Highway's love scenes had difference in taste. Recently in "Tamasha" we have found new Imtiaz. He is found to be bussy to gift us eye catching abroad locations, superb picture, perfect frame. But the story and acting are simply puzzled my mind. The main theme is around Ved(Ranbir Kapur) and Tara(Deepika)'s  meeting in France's Karsika.

Both of them fall in love to each other by tolling wrong introduction about themselves. The changing  game of love between them after coming to India is full of tamasha. Tamasha is too much filmy, considering it's bad jocks. So it does not touch my heart. It is one time watchable movie. Ranbir is brilliant in acting but Deepika prevails Ranbir by her coolest look and body language. The romance between them is sparkling for some time but not as interest able as   "Ye Jawani Hai Diwani".

The songs of A.R. Rahaman is good but highly used in every  scene.  The view angle of camera and the colorful  pictures are awesome. You can watch this film for one time, but I am not sure about the resistance in your mind.

Tamasha: Hierarchy of Needs
Dec 05, 2015 03:23 PM 7219 Views

Maslow lists Self-Actualization, including creativity, as the highest human need, much above love, money, and sex.

This story is about a storyteller, who fools himself into believing that he is meant to meander in mundane materials, whereas his true calling is to dream lazily in a make-believe world, populated with elves, goblins and fairies – or whatever is the Indian equivalent of these fanciful creatures, which exist on the edge of our oneiric conscience, like a fata morgana.

On a trip to the French Corsica, among rain washed streets, paved sidewalks overladen with grape vines and sweet-scented blossoms, and waves pounding on steep cliffs lining the craggy shoreline, he briefly meets a girl by chance, and gives in to his creative instincts. She comes to love him for his tomfoolery and uninhibited artistic flair; little knowing that he is nothing but a grounded, humble, sycophantic, ordinary, working class, mediocre product manager in a family-owned enterprise, with a humdrum life that starts and ends with the chimes of an alarm clock, and with no greater ambition than to earn his daily bread.

So when chasing the dream she has of this boy, from what she has seen of him in Corsica, she finally stalks him down to a Delhi Bar that he visits often, she is disappointed that he has turned out to be a pale, washed out, unexciting version of the debonair, dashing romantic she knew. But she has seen him through, and realized that his real self is the Corsican identity that had burst forth in that romantic milieu of the idyllic town by the sea, and not the staid foot soldier of the proletariat that is outwardly apparent to the practical world now. She rejects him, leaving him with the advice that he should surrender to the realization of his true self, rather than keeping a façade of the earthy, hardworking, corporate minion.

The boy, from hardworking refugee lineage, has learned early to conform and please, both of which he does easily. He scoffs at her, and tells her his real self is what she sees now, so take it or leave it. Obviously, she leaves it; who wants a low-paid, boring, desiccated engineer, with not a spark of life, working for a Punjabi Bania? When you have walked into Wonton, you want hot spicy Punjabi-Chinese, not a lettuce and cabbage salad garnished with lemon and black pepper.

Thereafter, jolted badly with the rejection, the nervous boy spends rest of the movie pining for the girl, fighting with himself and his family and employers, and struggling to discover his true identity. On a visit to another storyteller like himself, he finally finds the answer about what he truly wants in life.

By then it is too late – the wearied kids have gone to sleep, the mothers have escaped to the mirrors in the ladies room to tend to imaginary blemishes, the men have started flirtexting to buxom secretaries, and the lascivious front row has started filing to the ribald-jokes air of the smoking room. I have the greatest admiration for that great mop of curly hair on Imtiaz Ali’s head, and his dimpled chin and chubby cheeks, but I will not let my weakness come in the way of getting my bang for my buck – when I’ve handed over a thousand of the crispies, I expect my money’s worth – period!

For writers, as for moviemakers, there are markets, for each kind of reader – such as, speculative, sports, action-adventure, crime, romance, erotica, literary, artsy and pure commercial hot-cake-like-selling stuff – and one is expected to sell his wares in the target market. Now, you may want to pen down ream upon reams of deep, Freudian, Maslowian-Organization-Behavior-theoretic stuff, but do it on a self-publishing, vanity platform where nobody else can get to it – don’t inflict your psychology on a guy who is only looking for biology! I want Sunny Leone, and you give me auntiji? That’s not going to work, is it – putting two sexy artists together and then tying their hands and feet! Deepika nails it in the movie when she says, “Dekh ke hi kaam chalana padega, bachchu!”(You may look, but not touch.) It’s as much for Ranbir as for you and me.

Deepika has endless long limbs that entwine around you, like slimy, skinny creepers. Ranbir looks fresh faced with a profile like Karisma Kapoor’s father’s. The French are portrayed as hedonists perpetually on a wine tasting holiday, with choirs and colorful pageants always dotting their narrow streets, and on every square squeaking violinists; they’re generally imbeciles taken in easily by the rakish skills of Ranbir.

Imtiaz has written long-winded, stilted, jaded dialogue that serves no purpose except to keep the audience awake, and to have the actors’ skills in memorizing tedious lines constantly challenged. When the writer is more in love with his words than his tale, when the couturier is more in love with style than comfort, and when the moviemaker is more in love with the technique than entertainment, the resulting potpourri can only induce disappointment and slumber.

The lesson learnt is; never let a girl mess up with your mind. And after she has screwed it nice and proper, expect her to want to come back and make a project out of what remains of you, and to nag and mother you to the end of your days! If a woman wants a caricature of a man, let her, it’s her problem – you don’t turn yourself inside out and become a travesty – remember, she will want to carefully return you to your previous levels of insanity.  And this is exactly what Deepika manages with Ranbir.

And one last advice for parents and youngsters: don't take away any unnecessary, impractical ideas from this movie. Artists, rarely, hardly make any money, at least not any to support a family. A father who has paid for his son's engineering admission to a private college will be devastated to see him throw away his life in pursuit of a romantic ideal - just because some hussy has put him up to it. So, if you have a kid who has math problems, but is still bravely doing engineering - don't let him watch this movie! This movie leaves a poor learning to middle class ambitions and  values. A strict no-no for the young generation. If you've made it in life, you can pursue any hobby you like - such as writing reviews on MS.

Tamasha - Review .
Dec 05, 2015 02:02 PM 3748 Views

Tamasha is an Imtiaz Ali movie which boasts of star cast Ranbir and Deepika . Totally unexpectedly watched the movie as me with a bunch of friends were in the mall to have lunch, as we didnot expect that we would get the ticked 15 minutes before the movie . But we did . So, we hoppen in . The start of the movie was confusing, as to what was happenning was not known .

Later its moves to a totally complete location, where the hero and heroine as usual meet and have a good time and seperate without even knowing eachother's name . The chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika is good . Few songs are nice and catchy . The movie's storyline is good but couldnot match upto the audience's expectations . After a point the movie seems to be dragged and boring. I would give it a 3/5 .

Deepika is luminous, Ranbir is power
Dec 05, 2015 10:11 AM 3344 Views (via Android App)

Imtiaz Ali and Ranbir Kapoor's second collaborative effort, Tamasha, is a bit of an enigma. It reveals less about its two protagonists than it withholds. It is tightfisted about emotional outflow. But still creates a very dramatic case history for its protagonists.

Many parts of the film read( and I deliberately use this word in place of'look') like newly-done miniature paintings posted on ancient walls that have many stories to tell…the walls, not the newly placed paintings.

A quality of newly-assumed angst hovers over the lives of the protagonists, Ved and Tara, who are wretchedly unhappy in the way Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone could never be in their last outing together. In Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, their characters were inflicted with, and infused by, a congenital shallowness.

To director Imtiaz Ali's credit, the lead pair in Tamasha seem inured in a genuine melancholy. They are neither faking their paranoia about the absence of love, nor pretending to be celebrating the presence of love even when pretense is made the founding-stone for their companionship.

Corsica, here they come.

Ranbir and Deepika, thoroughly enjoying the play-acting that their characters are subjected to, exchange corny, filmy dialogues in Corsica. This segment of the plot is not as enjoyable as the lead pair want us to believe. We can only sit back and smile indulgently .
