Imagine my excitement when I found out there was a sequel to the endearing Koi Mil Gaya. I was counting the days till it came out and when it did, I must have been one of the first in line for a ticket. Was it worth my Sunday evening and R20 for a ticket? Well, yes and no, no, simply because I could have waited for the DVD and yes, if you want a purely entertaining movie that doesn't require you to even use a milligram of your brain, then folks, we have a winner!! Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, but before we get to the whys, let's get to the how.

Basic Plot:

This picks up where KMG left off. Rohit & Nisha are dead, and have a son Krishna who is living with granny Rekha (I must add that Rekha is very convincing as the aging granny). granny finds out that Krishna has special powers just like his daddy. Now this puts granny in a tizz because of certain events that led to the downfall of Rohit, she wants to hide Krishna from the rest of the world, so off granny goes, with grandson in tow, and settle in a deeply remote village in the middle of nowhere. 20 yrs later, Krishna is now a strapping young lad with extra supernatural powers, with no friends but nature and his beloved horse which he races from time to time. While Krishna is playing with the birds and the trees, in enters our heroine Priya, in a most dramatic manner, sweeps our beloved Krishna off his feet (literally) and before you know it, he's off to Singapore for reasons I would never have fallen for as a 13 year old introverted recluse. Anyway, Krishna goes off to Singapore and lo and behold, Krrish is born. What are the circumstances that lead to Krishna becoming Krrish? Will he prevail and conquer the evil Dr Arya (Naseer Shar), and what is the twist in the story that compells him to come back, in the midst of betrayal? The answers, are in the movie Krrish.

The Cast:

Rekhareturns as a very aged Sonia. I like Rekha in this role, she fits it perfectly. There's just something ornately disturbing about seeing her in tight fitting clothes and frolicking on the beach half naked (Bachke rena re baba).

Priyanka Choprais Priya, Krishna's love. Now, I love Priyanka Chopra, but in this movie, she had a tendency to be irritating. Had they cast her as say a 20 yr old college student, then I would have understood, but it's a bit difficult to stomach a supposedly proffessional journalist whine like a pre-teen.

Maaninee Mishrais Honey, Priya's colleague and best friend and fellow shrieker and whiner, The less said about her, the better.

Archana Puran Singhis Boss, I kid you not. Same as above

Naseer Shahis Dr Arya. I love this man as a baddie!! He didn't disappoint and I especially love the manic 'breaking news' snippets.

Hrithik Roshan is Krishna/Krrish/Rohit (in flashbacks). I loved Hrithik in KMG, he had this beautiful innocence about him, even after he got the powers from Jadoo the first time, there was still an endearing innocence about him that made you cheer when he kicked the bad guys' keesters. That same innocence shines through in krrish, if not more so that KMG. His acting is more controlled and has less histrionics. He really comes out of his shell after Singapore and although he's a lover not a fighter, he doesn't appear at all weak and wimpy as Krishna. Good work Hrithik, can't wait for Dhoom 2.

The Postmortem:

As I said before, I loved this movie, and if the purpose was to give us lighthearted and fun enteratainment, then this movie does not fail. Some parts were genuinely funny, but I've got to gripe about this...I swore I would scream if I heard another..."Just imagine" from Hemant Pandey!!! He was nothing but irritating. All in all, it sounds like I didn't enjoy the movie, but even after I'd seen it on the big screen, I still went out and bought it. But be warned, do not expect X-Men material, infact don't expect anything at all, you might be surprised.

Do we really need an indian superhero?
Sep 13, 2006 02:07 AM 5104 Views

Sequels can work in India is what success of this film proved. Moreover, it is also quite exciting to see hi-tech action owing also to great visual effects that so far you only saw in Hollywood movies and here for the first time, when your desi hero is performing the same, makes your kids happy. Guess what, if your kid is happy you are bound to be happy. A happy family portrait cuts into producer and distributor laughing their way to bank. Therefore, I fail to understand a big deal made out by our eminent business schools of studying its business model or for that matter a super great secret formula of turning box office fortunes. Perhaps, they know it better. Yes, Apna Hrithik gets into the mould of a super hero, quite convincingly, and moderate amount of stunts he did is one reason to make this film a special one. If you have gone to watch this film only for this very reason then yes it is a value for money and time.

The drawback here is weak story, highly predictable screenplay, quite mediocre climax with not much dramatic tension building up as required, and if that is not all-the Ist half is slow and typical bollywood masala films type. The music and songs are also a let down.

Heroine still just has to be in her sensuous best that manages to hook a poor villager by her seductress moves. Plus she needs to be pretty dumb to believe in ghost stories floated by a village bumpkin, Oh I got it she actually works in a popular TV channel….., now better I should not say anything further controversial here. Oh, how convincingly she does it..na. Great acting indeed! In the super-hero tales you need a villain of equal magnitude and dimensions, whose acts should also be frightening and menacing enough to give rise to need of a super hero. Do we really need to a super hero to fight a modest villain character like Dr. Arya? Any ordinary status hero will do the job here, by just beating up his goons and him..

Some direction flaws-Krishna (Hrithik) is brought up in a remote countryside. There was no computer at his home and neither was there any possibility that he can learn it from any where close by. How is it possible that when he comes face to face with Dr. Arya (Naseeruddin), he seems to be quite an expert in using computers and that too hi-tech ones. Secondly, Rohit, the father of Krishna, whose speech disorder cured in KMG (the prequel), seems to have again developed the same in this sequel. Songs are a disappointment but yes, this happens to be best work of cinematographer Santosh C.Thundiyil so far.

I have no problem if due to great marketing exercise the kids who live in their own fantasy world starts believing in the super heroes and this helps in generating enough box office moolah. But yes, while coming out of the theatre, I heard a tiny tot speaking to his father-.

-“Papa papa wo krrish uncle sab kuchh kar sakte hain na?”

-“Haan beta.”

-“To phir wo un bomb blast karnewalon ko bhi pakad kar laayenge aur saza deinge na?”

I believe now the father should have a valid answer otherwise for these super-hero admiring kids our own real heroes viz. Gandhi/Nehru/Bhagat singh would appear a trivial, mediocre personalities.

All in all, a growing admiration society for imaginary superheroes, which is an ages old product of western consumerist Society is finally arrived here too. Go, enjoy.

Nice action hrithik
Sep 10, 2006 01:21 AM 4753 Views

If there is someone who deserves a clap it is hrithik the film I know was a bit of childish and the storyline was also not so good but it all comes under the same excuse that the film was based on the action scenes rater than the story ,,,,,but a little common sens dosent hurt anyone does it ,,,,,,,,,,,

i might be a bit lenient on this because I personaly like hrithik very much but stillllllllllllllll,,,,

some stupidities

1.how is the principal in the first scene still the same in the middle of the movie when around 20 years had passed,,'did jadu give him the power to stay young all his life hmm,,,,

2.why did krrishna hide from priyanka and the others ( when they show him doing amazing stuff in front of them0

3.and when they decided to go back why didnt he simply go and confess insted of calling priyanka to him and get pricked

4.MAJOR DISASTER when they were making the new computer then why in the name of sanity did they need the code of the old ,,,,destroyed one _)

  1. in the last fighting scene krrish starts to run as if rocket boosters were tied to his legs

well there might be many more of these but I remember only these

but still compared to films like kank it was superb

    and hrithik looked really amazing

It was bound to happen !

I KNEW IT !

when an inspiration from a spielberg movie makes for a highly entertaining movie, turns out to be the biggest hit of the year, romps home with all the major awards and most importantly sets a talented actor's career back on track, the director is expected to look for something more stylised and niche. SO I had no surprises when rakesh roshan decided to make the sequel to koi mil gaya.

but in his process to match the technical finesse of the chinese action films and make for a so called "stylish slick" film, rakesh roshan loses his way as a story teller, fails to grab the emotional resonance of KMG, and falters overall to make a recommendable film to my dear mouthshut user colleagues.

the film begins with KRRISHNA, rohit's son showing off his god gifted talents to some brattish kids, [who dont have any thing to do than to play with a teenage freak]. a girl comes from singapore to kasauli [ believe it or not ] for a leisure trip, sweeps krrissh off his feet and then krrissh leaves no stones unturned and breaks all barriers to help her unintentionally. come on rakesh sir, we hoped for a bettere script here.

the silly song sequences, the irrelevant comic scenes [ though they did manage to raise a few laughs ] just hamper the essence of a taut screenplay and a gripping narration in the first half. the best moment, for me personally was when krishna urges to go to singapore and rekha is forced to divulge the truth to refrain him. it truly was a sight to behold.

the second half of the movie is definitely the better one with some thrilling stunts, an unforgettable song, good work by hrithik and a great sci-fi scene going to the flashback with rohit giving his name to a super computer able to tell the future. that was really brain tickling. having said this, the archana puran singh potboiler and the scenes like "DIL NA DIYA" song and krrishna's competition with a gorilla [ or whatever it may be ] was pure balderbash. it just didnt make sense.

the film's only claim to fame is its hollywood or say chinesewood ISHTYLE thrills and fight sequences. the film is really first of its kind in india for this sole reason. but that alone cant salvage a weak script, mediocre execution and some expected twists, can it ? the climax was unpredictable though.

speaking of other aspects, nothing is really eye-capturing. the cinametography is above average, and the overall music average. at the same time, the song "KOI TUMSA NAHI" is pleasantly uplifting. the lyrics is heart warming and so is the use of flute in the interludes.

the film is implicitly overpowerd by hrithik roshan. he was the central character for the movie in every sense and he played this part with deadly earnest. rekha was very good but her role didnt have much to speak of. the same things can be said for naseeruddin shah. priyanka chopra was average. but I must say she is choosing just the right movies n will definitely be the top most actress one day.

KRRISH was just an ordinary movie a victim of over-hype [ just as SARKAR was ], has been a big hit all over [ though I didnt expect it to be ] bcoz of its entertainment value [ as most of our audience thinks so ]. but the film will definitely couldnt match KMG in the sentiments dimension and its charisma level.

overall, KRRISH was an expectedly disappointing movie.

your ratings and comments hugely awaited

till next time

Rohit over Krrish
Aug 23, 2006 04:24 AM 4912 Views

This is the case of higher expection and getting low results. Koi Mil Gaya(KMG) was a superb entrace of bollywood into the scientific genre. It was the film that brought out the true potential of Hritik Roshan, especially the first half of the film. From that film I was sure that Roshans were ready to bring out truly amazing entertainment. That was the reason I went to the first show on the first day to Krrish.

First, I was really happy with all the jumping and more jumping. After a while I was waiting for something else, but sure enough, it was all jumping, just like a Bander. They even had a climbing a pole race with Krrish and an Ape. I was sure now that Rakesh Roshan really lost it. I think the director was trying to add humor but it failed. The film didn't have any humor. If there was some humor, for example the time when Krishna was pretending to be a ghost, it was just rediculous.

Another downside of the movie was the actress. She was a forced character into the film. I know they were going for someone like Louis Lane, but they missed the train long time ago. Priyanka doesn't come close to the Louis Lane character of Superman. Her character just seemed more confused rather than involved with Krrish.

I also found that Rakesh Roshan got alot of money from advertisement. From Tide to Lays, there was a clear sign that they were trying to sell. I think it was annoying because more useless scenes were added to add those ads into the film. Those scenes could easily be deleted.

One good thing about this movie was that action was much better than a lot of indian movies. It wouldn't be wrong to say that they were at the international standards. I really liked the scene where Krrish saved children from the fire. It looked well executed and well shot.

Besides good action and a mediocre music, there was nothing new in Krrish. The story was very slow and not entertaining. It also looked weird to have an old man(Rohit) sound like a little kid. Makeup was good but the voice didn't keep the illusion.

I think it would be more entertaining to watch KMG again rather than watch Krrish where all the jargon came together in the name of Scientific movies.

Krissh is a pathbreaker
Aug 21, 2006 05:51 PM 4676 Views

The movie is a path breaker as far as casting the image of superheroes is concerned. Path breaker because no movie in Indian cinema prior to this has been able to do justice to either the creation or the presentation of this larger than life mortal.

I went to watch this movie because of RR and HR combination of talent displayed in the prior two movies Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and Koi Mil Gaya. I wanted to see if this movie is a mere carry on from these two very inspiring and different themes or whether it was something very different. Very frankly I am not a great Hritik fan and I didn't really expect anything extraordinary from this movie but boy was I in for a magical surprise.

The second half simply enthrals and captivates you with the wonderful cinematography, the martial arts, stunts and the action. Hritik is stunning as both a simpleton village boy who lives and breathes the fresh air and adores his grandma to the hilt as well as the superhero who takes the indomitable villains by the fist using his intelligence and his superpowers. It is a sequel no doubt but very different from Koi Mil Gaya. You do see glimpses of characters from Koi Mil Gaya but nowhere do you get a sense of repetition or boredom so to speak.

Rekha was as usual awesome. This lady does not fail to surprise me with her talent and skills. Priyanka was okay in the limited role or scope that was given to her. Nasser was immense and has proven to all that age is no barrier for an actor of his experience and skill.

Background Music was awesome but the songs were ordinary for me. The product overall is definitely 9/10 and is worth a repeat, not to mention a first time watch.

Krrish.na pyara hai...
Aug 16, 2006 12:11 PM 5582 Views

There were no brilliant fight sequences as anticipated from this one. The movie was good for kids but the emotional turmoil of the Spiderman, which helped connect the movie with the grown ups was probably too much for RR to match.

The first half, though stretched a bit too long, was good, especially for its lighthearted comedy and the beautifully coy Priyanka Chopra. Talking of her, when I first saw her, I felt, here comes the lady who can step in the shoes of the likes of Madhuri, Kajol. Though Ash was more beautiful, never could connect as the quintessential Indian women. She was, may be, too perfect. In contrast, the crooked teeth or tooth of PC adds to that appeal of a lady. And off as well screen she comes out to be a better grounded person. Coming back to the movie, she effortlessly portrays the role of the confused journalist. The Bhoot sequence where the ‘Shuklaji’ tells her that the person who saved her life and who flashes up in front of her every now and then is the Ghost of Kalicharan and she is her love interest Rupa of the previous birth, is a hilarious one. However, it could have been developed and climaxed better.

When compelled by here professional demands, she has to invite Krishna to Singapore, one expects that the action will start right away. But this is no Rumble in the Bronx. Moreover, somehow I always find the artwork and special effects of Koi series seriuolsy lacking by the standard of a sci-fi. At least what Spielberg did in the Back to the Future series score of years ago, that level can be expected of the today’s bollywood flicks, especially the ones boasting of foreign locales and technical support. On that count I can give five stars to KANK for its canvas. And Three to Krish. Except for the flying sequences of HR in his valley, the action sequences happening in Singapore fall flat from a non-kid’s perspective.

What was especially striking was the Copy Paste imitation of the time machine or computer GUI and the concept from Paycheck (Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman). Not that it does not require time and resource even to copy and copy they did beautifully. The mimics and touch screen and movable windows and the works were beautifully done. Impressive to the kids and elders alike.

The mad scientist of Naseeruddin shah overdoes the soliloquy bit. Too much talking to self can make a villain as cheap as the what- his name-was Gulshan Grover in Tom Dick and Harry. The makeup of Rohit as the poisoned half living scientist was superb.

The final chase sequence in which the amphibious capabilities, apart from flying skills of Krrish were on display was the highlight of his Character. But the superhuman capabilities of Krissh need to be defined in a more categorical way. Hope to see that in the Krrish-II.

The fight sequence in the end at the Villain’s den was good if not OK. A lot left to be desired. Fights in Gagster were more ably shot. Probably I was expecting Commando. However the Matrix inspired bullet stop was a good one.

In the end when mother is greeted by the son on his ‘Death’ anniversary is a seen which carried some punch. Rekha did her bit gracefully in the role of GM. But the emotions in the interaction with the grandson who was torn between his love for her and that for the love interest Priyanka does not pull at your heartstrings, though came very close to doing that.

Sorry, but the music is listless except for the Koi Tumsa Nahin no. Interestingly initially the title of the movie was KTS. Sonu impresses once again and the enhanced echo lends sublimity to the line “Ye Khabar ayee hai….”. May be expecting a KNPH once again is asking for too much.

LBNTL, Hrithik is his usual honest actor.. In any case, it is a Hirthik Movie and that is it. Fans of Hrithik will fill up the theatres and fortunately there are many enough to make this movie one of the biggest grocers. Though sadly, signs of receding hairline are becoming evident. Hope the heredity does not catch up with him so soon.

The movie has done well and will keep doing so because it is a clean family fun and the kids will pull their parents to theatre despite KANK till the release of Munnabhai Lage Raho. I expect a lot from Raju-Vidhu and hope they do not disappoint.

The Super Hero-Krrish

"Look it's a bird, it's a plane, it's SUPERMAN....wait a minute...that's....that's....KRRISH"

WHY DID YOU WATCH THIS MOVIE?

It was a hot summer and I was bored. I knew Krrish was making its release. I thought "hey, why not take the family out to watch a new hindi movie". It looked pretty interesting and I decided to take the chance.

PLOT

First of all, Krrish is the sequel to the hit made a few years back, Koi Mil Gaya. The story is about Krishna who ends up moving to a more secluded village type area because his superhuman powers were starting to show. He inherited the powers from his father who encountered "Jadoo". Remember the cute (cute or maybe not) alien in Koi Mil Gaya? Priya, a girl who has been in touch with a busy, city life, meets Krishna on a visit. Priya begs Krishna to come to Singapore to save her career, although he comes because he loves Priya. In Singapore, Dr. Siddant Arya is planning to change the future. Krishna must become Krrish to prevent the evil plans.

CAST

Hrithik Roshan as Krishna/Krrish/Rohit- It definately has been a while since Hrithik Roshan has been seen on the big screen. He began to grow out his hair and it disgusted some of us. But I think the look was perfect for Krrish. As far as his acting goes, I thought he was perfect for the role. He did a wonderful job. I really like his act as Rohit because that requires more talent.

Priyanka Chopra as Priya-Priyanka looked beautiful. That was about it.

Rekha as Sonia (Krishna's grandmother)- She has been an actress that was admired for her looks, talent, and charm. She still carries on her talent. As the grandmother, I thought she was good. She looked old in the movie but of course she was playing the grandmother.

Naseeruddin Shah as Dr. Siddant Arya- He is probably one of the best actors I have come across. He can be good or evil. I personally thought he was good as the evil doctor.

WAS THE MOVIE ABLE TO KEEP YOU GLUED TO THE SCREEN?

Yes! I wanted to see more of Hrithik running faster than the speed of light and jumping high up into the mountains. There was a lot of superhero action. Therefore I was able to sit through the movie surprised at how Indian cinema is changing. Just like many hindi movies, there was always a song. I really liked all the songs from Krrish. To watch Hrithik come back and dance to the catchy tunes was a pleasure.

The only complaint I will make about this movie is the fact it resembled too much of the superman/batman look. But the idea was brilliant for a bollywood movie. It definately is one of the movies of recent times that I will put into my list of movies that are changing Indian cinema.

Don't forget comments!

Total Hritik Flick--> Krrish
Aug 13, 2006 10:33 PM 3973 Views

Krrish, A long awaited movie from Roshan camp. A total Hritik movie...... I watched this movie for Hritik and believe me it was total paisa vasool......

Though I missed a bit of begining and entered the theator when Krrish flow to catch falling priyanka.... n with that one scene I was captilated.... Though I was wondering how hritik will look in long hair but he looked just as stylish n handsome as ever....

Following with the drama of camp which where hritik falls in love with priyanka and how he is used by priyanka and her friend manini dey for saving her job with boss archana puran singh in Singapor.

What follows is very predictable story of priyanka using Hritik and Hritik intelligent enough not to fall in trap until he is called by human duty to save a circus in fire where he accidently finds a mask and becomes mask hero Krish. Though still he does not take credit for the same instead allows a singapor fellow the credit..... The movie is predictable till Hritik is about to leave singapor after realising priyanka was using him..... then enters shart saxena who informs Hritik that his dad is alive and now what follows again is a predictable but throughly enjoyable part of the movie in which Hritik flys in the skys, water, bldgs of singapor and finally gets his dad free as predicted.....

This is a very typical n predictable movie but one factor that seprate this movie and makes it gud is Hritik Roshan factor.. He is brillent ...... He has some gateups as a villager in India then a suited person in singapor and one Hritik as old father ... in all the gateups he is just brillient....

Some logical flows are there in the movie as Hritik's father was super naturally blessed by Jaddoo in 1st part in the end so why still he continuous to speak old dumb self.. Also if he was in singapor for more than 2 yrs than how krishna was produced. Also the use of products like Tide etc are in real bad state....

Also one thing that I didn;t like abt the movie was Priyanka chopra who was totally expression less throughout the movie...... she had acted better in the small role in bluff master and aitraaz.... heard her father was not well during the movie but she is the weekpoint of the movie........

The initial camp scenes abt bhoot and all are very chilidish but its ok.

Hritik Roshan carries whole movie on his able shoulders and gives a best actore performace according to me......

All others like Rekha, Nasir, Sarat saxsena, Puneet, manini, archanana had done their part.....

Songs are just forgettable, u forget once u leave cinema... only one with Hritik in circus was very well danced by Hritik (Priyanka here also was not able to dance upto the mark again)....

Direction was gud.... First india and then Singapor captured brillently in the movie... Also action stunts r gud...

This movie entertained the child in me... Though I had seen superheros like spiderman and superman but indian superhero is indian heart throb..... As stated by rakesh roshan that budget in latest superman movie for the initial plan sequence itself is entire budget of Krrish so keeping the unlimited finance backup to foreign superheros, our movie with limitef finanaces is real gud....

Also Hritik himself has done some stunts.....

Over all Indian Super Hero is born as Krrish (Hritik Roshan))... I eagerly await the next episod for the same......

Krrish! watch & forgot

I was desperately waiting for much awaited Krish the sequel of Koi mil gaya.

I saw ki mil gaya after its released long time but I was really happey with what ever Dad Rakesh Roshan did for Hrithik, a superb role, you can say dream role & story & he caught the pulse of mass & they suceed. This time they wanted to cash that Koi Mil Gaya hype Krish as a sequel.

Though its a sincere efforts to try international quality but we should make our own standards.

In case of copy we lost our identity & this happenwith Krrish.

Its absolutely marketing gimmick & a path for future releases.

Throught out the movie the products packsot really irritates & Its reminds about the risk involved in film making as well as cash the hype as mush as you can.

To be very honest again I like Koi Mil Gaya papa Hrithik rather than Krrish Hrithik.

His make up was fabulous & he again proved that as an actor he is th eone.

One suggestion for Rakesh Roshan Ji, try to focus Hrithik as an actor rather than a selling hot cake.

He has potential, just one good script with powerful acting scope & yeh roshan hamesha roshan rahega.

All the best to Roshan Team!

He is back again...he took a long long time but he is back with allhis might...

it is a rather out of the world story..but it is digestable for views who take it rater a movie mall. the back bone of the story is strong and the sequences r simply superb.....and ther is always an advantage of hrithik's beef look to fellhim as a super hero..and his peformance is simply superb...

now wats wrong wit the film isthat the villan...he comes so fast and moves out so fast...the main theme in the story is still love of priyanka...sexy doll any ways...the views who wish to c krishh better watch out coz it is not the story of a guy who is krish frm the start..he is just krishnaa....and he has to b'come krish.

the superhero comes in the late second half only that sounds some different in a sense..but rakesh should hav avoided some not wanted songs in the first half...although thy r gr8.

and also....the stunt scence..it is simply gr8..wat I wanna say for the last is its a movie comes one in 1000 type...so costly to miss any way..............

go get them tigers

Krrish could've been Better!!!!!
Aug 06, 2006 06:05 PM 1849 Views

When I was entering the screen 4 of the Fun Republic multplex...to watch KRRISH...i had high expectations...Ofcourse.....i enjoyed the movie...but it would've been much much better.....

The movie is good but not like KOI MIL GAYA....i can still see that film 10 times...but not krrish..it is not worth seeing the 3rd time....It doesn't impress to the point it had to...but its ok...It is fair job by Mr. Rakesh Roshan....

He should've not made the sequal...he should've instead bought something new and original...as he does....

The film is too painful....and slows down at some moments...the pre-interval portions just don't want to move ahead....the love story...keeps on dragging and dragging.....Even the songs are such a dissapointment...Mr. Rajesh roshan...fails this time.....

Hrithik Roshan was born for this role...he is the best part of the movie...Priyanka chopra was a BIG BIG miscast.....they should've taken someone like Amrita Rao instead....Rekha was excellent...Naseer ji also...was as usual...impressive.....The post-interval portions are much much better...and the suspense...is good....the stunts were ofcourse...hair raising...

So...my final verdict....is that KRRISH...did not deserve the success it got....

India’s innocent hero travels all the way to Singapore to get his girl and then due to some circumstances he turns into super hero “Krish” and fights against all bad and evil things. I do agree that Singapore is a beautiful place, but just to support Singapore tourism like all other product like Tide, Lays u don’t have to see Krish, because Indians could be glad to see their first desi super hero doing Karname in his own des.

Hrithik Roshan was simply stunning in the movie and no one else could have done this role as nicely as he did .All his stuns and action was good, but still needed to be more diverted in saving people rather than just following the helicopter.

Though Krish can be consider as birth of “Krish the super hero” still it needed more action rather than the total romantic first part. Priyanka chopra couldn’t carry the same freshness and charm that Preity zinta had in “Koi mile Gaya”.Her acting was not only dull but also very fake many times, especially when she has so many other nice movies in comparison.

More over the villain of the movie who is such a great scientist acted really funny and childish in the whole movie

In all a pardes were we have dozen of smart Indians who make fool of them self at some or other part of the movie, then let it be the genius Rohit mehra, villain, heroin or even the superhero himself .And at the end I am glad they are back home.

Krrish .... finally proved a point that a film if made with all the commercial elements in it, does do well at the box office.

Not just well it does remarkbly well.

A lot of factors attribute to the success of the film, even the fact that the title of the film has been numerologically altered.

That does not change the fact however that I did not like the film.

I had quite liked Koi Mil Gaya for the obvious reason that the film touched you emotionally.

Hrithik Roshan has always been a performer and this was the first time that people actually sat up and took notice of that and appreciated him for that.

Koi Mil Gaya was too honest a film for one to not like it.

Well, coming back to Krrish ... these are the elements that were quite missing in the film.

The fact that the film was so planned in its quotient of entertainment was quite not so appealing to me.

To begin with, the dialogues in the beginning of the film were quite boring.

So Krishna is born and is over protected by his grand mother. Oopss!! Or is it Krrishna too!!!

The entire Kalicharan bit too was exagerrated. But the funny part was that the kids were really enjoying it.

The only saving grace in the film of course was Hrithik Roshan. Somehow whatever he does is with so much sincerity that you cannot but like him for it.

The rest of the characters looked like they sleepwalked through the film.

Anyone could have played the parts. None of them really stood out. Sadly not even Naseeruddin Shah.

Give me a Koi Mil Gaya anyday and I am sure I will lap it up...

Krrishh had created a lot of Pre-release hype. So quite naturally it got on to me also. The post release reports were very appreciative of the film. I must confess that I am not a big movie buff and definitely not for the mindless run-of-the-mill Bollywood stuff. But it did not take long for me to realize that there was this strong unwitting urge to view this movie. This I did so.

Now for me, Krrish was a big let down. The movie just proved a point that we are still infants when it comes making movies with superheroes. Actually I was surprised to read the reviews on mouthshut.com. More than 80% approve of Krrishh. Give me a break. guys. Are these kids giving their opinion?? I mean what is the level of intellectual viewership in this country maan?

Now, now, I am being very arrogant I guess. With due respect, to all who approve of it, let me tell you that I would also approve this movie…but only to the kids. Yes that is right, It is a good kiddies movie.

See, not all things in this movie are bad. If you dissect the movie, the cinematography was good, the locations were very picturesque, the stunts were passable, and the special effects were impressive. But I think Hrithik Roshan takes the cake by a long distance. He was outright fantastic. In my opinion Hrithik is the only Bollywood actor who could do justice to the character, and that he did with aplomb. He carries the movie on his personality and performance. Gosh! I shudder at the thought of this movie with someone else in the lead.

By the way, can anyone tell me what Priyanka Chopra was doing in this film. She was so not there. And the songs were so very average.

The plot was very 70ish and very predictive. I mean there was nothing in the movie that you were not expecting to happen already. The plot should have been stronger and more cerebral. But yes I am sure the kids would have enjoyed it and what with our own Desi superhero, even the children who do not understand the Phirang mentality, would have identified with Krishh. All said and done I must agree that it has created a bench mark in India as far as Indian superheroes goes.

But at the end of the day, whether I approve or not the movie has been termed as a super hit and the Roshans are singing their way to the bank. Good for them.

It’s a comeback for me in mouthshut after almost 7/8 months… and it’s a comeback

for Hritik after KOI MIL GAYA. Both are not similar. I was busy with my

chemical engineering subjects while Hritik was busy for this sequel of Koi Mil Gaya.

Indian film industry does have so many superstars now, but for the stars it’s a quite tough

job to keep their superstar image…its really tough now. If one movie

is flop—everyone starts talking that he/she is a flop actor/actress.

Take the example of Vivek Oberoi. In Company, people accepted him as a superstar, but after that----- it was a flop story of Junior Suresh Oberoi.

But the problem of Vivek is-- he doesn’t have the director “papa”

who would make a hit story for him, and help to make Vivek a strong comeback.

After “Kaho Na Pyar Hain” it was a same sad story for Hritik…….. but there was a strong powerful director “papa” for him who made a super hit story and helps his son to retain his super star position in the industry.

:::::: Help of Story Vs Acting Power::::::

Question 1:- Why should you be considered as a superstar if you don’t have the power to turn a weak story to a strong one?

Question 2:- Is there any worth of adding two or three superhero images (Spiderman, Superman………………and?????????? shaktiman) to make a “Indian Superhero”?

It was a really sad story for Hritik after KNPH, all the movies were going to be a flop one,

but Rakesh Roshan made a special story for his son with lots of special effects –to make a comeback for his son. But why should we call Hritik a superstar? What has he done for the industry? It was a smooth story for any of the actor of the industry. And about KOI MIL GAYA,

it was a good smooth story as well as in KRRISH. In KRRISH Hritik has all the power, he is Spiderman, he is Superman….. he is everything. He has all the power. But what about your

part in the movie? There no worth of making these types of movie for 2-3 years which do not provide any contribution to the bollywood industry.

:::::::: STORY AND MUSIC:::::::::::

Rakesh Roshan has added two stories in quite nice way. Krish is the son

of Rohit in KMG and………… no………… it’s a boring task to tell the story.

I’ll not go to discuss it. Well, I am saying it that it’s a good story, buttttttttt is it a good story?

(Let’s take a poll in the comments).

But the music is really good in this movie. Dhup Nikalti, Ao sunao u, Dekho pawan vi….. Sounds good.

:::::::::Casting:::::::::::::::

I’ll not discuss about Hritik here. But Priyanka Chopra was looking cute in this movie,

Rekha is truly a great actress. Nasiruddin Shah makes a good villain----- acting was

not a problem of this movie.

:::::::About the Hall, sounds::::::::

Well, inox does have a great screen and screen, any movie(hit/flop) looks good here.

Any doubt????????

:::::To be continued in the comments:::::::::

Please share your views about the movie in the comments…..

Thanks………….

The Great Indian Superman is here. Superstar Hritik blazes the screen with super romance and action. Mugs and masks sold out in supermarkets. The father and son duo strikes again superbly knocking down the doubters and fence sitters.

Krish tells the story of Krishna, the perennial gaon ka chokra who falls inevitably for the seher ki kudi and follows her singing to Singapore. Soon his hidden super powers is accidently exposed in a circus ring fire and after that he goes berserk saving the good old mother earth.

The problem with Krish is that it is so exasperatingly predictable. From the first scene to the last scene you can tell what will happen next without blinking. The characters, their dialogues and the costume changes are so seeped in the traditional Hindi movie mould that this movie can easily be researched for the evolution of Bollywood stereotypes.

The movie, ultimately belong to Hritik Roshan. Credit should go to him for trying his level best to put some flesh in his cardboard character. The transformation of Krishna to Krish is shown in a very trite manner. He could have as well have saved the children in the fire using one of the clown masks available around him. In fact he was dancing the previous scene wearing one. A superhero must have a super reason for being the way he is. For our man in black, the only reason seem to be getting clicked in slow motion while he does his super stunts.

The movie is distinctly separated in two parts. We can very well dedicate the first half to Joy Mukherjee, Asha Parekh and Rajendranath. The content is same except the packaging had changed. Priyanka Chopra with her silly grins, paddle pushers and woolen muffins and caps look straight out from the Sixties. Looking retro is cool provided you sport a gen next attitude. The latter was definitely subtracted while conceiving the scenes.

The second half is more complex. It oscillates between comedy, romance and action in simple harmonic motion. Naseeruddin Shah plays the evil computer genius who dreams of world domination. The plot surrounding him with Krish’s father had so many loopholes that I might fall in one before I complete my sentence. Bottomline the climax showcases the amazing powers of Krish who single handedly saved the world, reunites with his long lost father and gets a bahu for his mother.

I will not discuss the songs as all of them are ordinary and you guessed it….full of rehashed, heard it before melodies.

We all know that this movie had by now created box office history and the subject of innumerable dissections. I have no problem with that and would like to congratulate the Roshans for their stupendous success. However it is not my cup of Horlicks or Bournvita. The concept was fine but the execution left a lot to be desired. I will wait for my real Indian superhero in Omkara.

Did someone say Krrish was a sequel to Koi Mil Gaya?

Where is my shotgun, honey?

Did someone say Rekha was there in Krrish?

I thought it was Nirupa Roy.

Did somesone say Priyanka Chopra is on her way to the top after Krrish?

One for the road, baby.

Did someone say Krrish is better than Superman, Batman and Spiderman?

He might me but he still need to jump higher, lift heavier weights than Priyanka and grow a tail to be the next Hanuman.

This was the most awaited movie of this year and as per my expectations this movie has been a superb sequel to KMI. Now I understand why Rakesh Roshan is in the elite class of directors.

Hats off to his audaciousness in introducing the concept of Alien and now of a superhero in KRRISH.

If I come to the star cast then there would have been nothing better than what we have currently.

songs are as melodious as the songs were in his first movie....Dil na diya... is a mixture of everything. The work of Hrithik in dance has always been awesome right from his first movie. In this he just reaffirms the fact that why he is one of the best dancers industry has ever produced.

Throughout the movie you will find(whenever he has got a chance to prove his mettle in dancing)that he has done justice to everyone and everything involved in the movie. Apart from Hrithik, let's come on top the other casts.

Rekha as lovely as ever. Again in this movie by portraying the role of Krishna's grand mother she has proved to the world there is enough acting left in her. I believe retaining her character for the its sequel has been the right decision of the director because without her the first part would not have looked complete. Talking about the female star cast i.e Priyanka Chopra has remarkably done well.Knowing that this movie was totally based on the Character of Krrish still she, through her acting skills, never made me feel that she was not required. The camera has explored every part of her beauty. Except in the second half something wrong happens to her dress sense and she doesn't appear as beautiful as she is in the first half.

The movie has been shot in the best possible locations in India like Manali, Nainital and then comes Singapore.Rest apart everything is good about this movie.

If I were to rate this movie on achart of 10, then I definitely would give it 8 on 10.
