Ghatak, this movie is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Sunny Deol, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Danny Denzongpa and Late. Mr. Amrish Puri. Its story of Banarasi boy Kashi who comes to Mumbai with his father for medical treatment. His father Shambhu Nath(Amrish Puri) who was freedom fighter awarded with Tamra Patra. He stays at his brother's Shiv Nath's house at Mumbai. He mets Gauri and started liking her.

The area where he live is terrorized by gangster Kathya. Shambu Nath is later diagnosed with throat cancer and has only few day to live. Kashi refuses Kathya's offer to join his gang. Then the war between Kathya & Kashi is started. After a series of dramatic events and action scenes the story moves ahead. Dialogues are very good, Late Amrish Puri did fantactistic job by his acting. After Ghayal & Ghatak sunny Deol became next angry young man. Danny also looks good in Kathya's role. Meenakshi played bar dancer role in this movie.

The film is all about the fight of a village boy against the terror of a don of a city.

The hero-Kashi is from Varanasi.He arrives to Mumbai with his father-Shambhu Nath, who is a patient of cancer. So for his treatment he came to Mumbai.

Here in Mumbai, his brother is stays in some outrage of Mumbai.

Here Kashi is troubled and disturbed by the terror of the don-Kathya, who has undertaken control over the people, who are afraid of his terror. One day his father also becomes victim of his terror. And Kathi vows to take revenge. As a result he fights against him and with his courage and daring he kills Kathy's and people makes him a Hero.

Speaking about the cinematography is absolutely fabulous. The lights and camera motions are so accurate, that the story and the events of the film becomes more stunning and challenging.

The music is beautiful, dashing and reppy. Full of dancing and drifting. The tunes are fully right set and good.

The performance of Sunny deol as Kashi has e'en very popular as the dashing stills as always have made him a Hero.

Amrish Puri as always very perfect in his role that he has played.

Ghatak hindi movie is 1996 bollywood action film directed by rajkumar santoshi, cast:sunny deol, meenakshi seshadri etc.ACP shyam prasad is an honest cop who creates problems for a local don.when the don threaten to kill his familly, veera a young man, he hired to protect them and bring the criminal to justice.

played charecters excellently.soundtrack: music is good, music by R.D.Burman, cinematography is good, performed by ishwar bidri, the film was made at budget of Rs. 40 million and did collection is Rs. 440 million.overall movie is excellent.it is a family entertainment movie.

'Ghatak' movie is very ultimate movie .The sunny deol is doing very powerful and inspiration role Kashi(Sunny Deol) is a kind-hearted wrestler and the dutiful son of Shambhu Nath(Amrish Puri) living in Banaras. Shambhu Nath who was a freedom fighter awarded with Tambra Patra, is an honourable and respectable man in town. Kashi comes to Mumbai with his father for his medical treatment of throat and stays with his brother Shiv Nath(K. K. Raina). Kashi meets Gauri(Meenakshi Seshadri) and starts liking her. He learns that the colony is being terrorized by a tyrannical gangster named Katya(Danny Denzongpa) along with his other six brothers. Before Kashi's arrival, a resident named Sachdev(Om Puri) tries to initiate revolt against Katya but gets ruthlessly killed by him, thereby making Malti(Ila Arun), wife of Sachdev, go mad. Katya and his brothers become enemy with Kashi when he beats up their goons when they were beating up Malti. Shambhu Nath is later diagnosed with throat cancer and has only a few days to live.

When Kashi refuses to be a member of Katya's gang, Katya become ferocious and makes Shambhu Nath a dog in front of the entire society. After a series of dramatic events, Shiv Nath is murdered by Jeena(Mukesh Rishi), one of Katya's brother. Kashi then kills Antya(Deep Dhillon) and gets arrested. Meanwhile, Shambhu Nath dies of cancer. When Kashi was going to disperse his father's ashes in the Ghat with the police, the police van gets attacked by Katya's brothers and goons. Kashi kills all of them including Katya's three brothers and reaches Katya's home. There he kills Jeena, thereby causing only two brothers to survive, including Katya. As Katya made Kashi's father dog, he made Kashi as Ox and takes him to the colony to re-establish his supremacy. But Kashi stands up and Katya's entire gang is then attacked by the residents. Sixth brother(Tinu Verma) is then killed by the mob. Kashi makes Katya dog and asks him to bark. Katya having no choice barks on Kashi's instructions. Kashi then kills Katya and the colony gets freedom from his tyranny.

Hello Friend this movie based women problem and how male domination in the society one girl gaped and she not getting justification society then one women fight against that victim and Sunny is pay lawyer charactor he justify his role and overall all charactor are performance is good. The best thing with the movie is that no action scene will seems indigestible or impossible to you. Sunny has performed all the scenes is the best possible way and I think it is impossible to improve perfection. This much awaited Sunny-Santoshi took 5 yrs to finally see the way to theaters but it hit the bullseye. The Dialogues were perfect and well written.

The dialogues during Sunny-Danny encounter after cage fighting were superb: Danny- Kathia respects brave man/lion Sunny- Even a lion captured in a cage is a mere dog Danny- So what, if you will work for me you will get wealth, reward and above all people will fear you Sunny- The one who has hollow bones let others fear

The songs of this movie is so lovely(Nigahon ne Cheda Hai Dill ka Tarana). After completing this movie, Meenakshi Seshadri left the film industry. In this movie Amrishpuri said a good thing that Fear is like Termites.

Ghatak movie released on 8th november 1996. The movie starcast included sunny deol, meenakshi shesadhri, danny denzongpa, amrish puri and others. Mamta kulkarni was also there in the movie for an item song -'koi jaaye toh le aaye'. The film was produced and directed by rajkumar santoshi. Even the story and screenplay was done by rajkumar santoshi. The music of the movie ghatak was composed by r.d. Burman and anu malik.

In this movie, kashi(sunny deol) is an obedient son of shambu nath(amrish puri). The live in banares. Shambus one son lives in mumbai in some colony. Shambus health is nt all good in benares and so he comes with kashi to mumbai at his sons place. here kashi realizes that the colony is terrorized by a goon named katya. How kashi comes up againsy katya and ends his tyranny nd terror is the main course of the film.

The film is a treat to watch for sunny deol fans.  its an awesome movie

Ghatak is a very underrated movie, directed by rajkumar santoshi has brought us some well made movies like Ghatak, damini, Andaz apna apna, chinagate, ghayal, etc. out of all his movies Ghatak has to be the best, not that others weren't good, but this movie has the best dialogues ever. Also the music is by r.d. burman and anumalik together.

The movie is about Kaashinath(sunnydeol) he was left on the streets of banaras is picked up from the streets by shambunath (amrishpuri). Shambunath is a good samaritan, freedom fighter, and a social worker and commands great respects in the town he lives with his now son kaashinath. The local people of the twon do not even want to name their newborn children without his blessings. The Most closest person to shambunath in life is his son kaashi, shambu has a anotehr son, but lives in the city. kaashi to admires respect his father shambu more then anything else in the world.

A local doctor advises kaashinath to take his father to mumbai for medical treatment, So they both leave for the city, where also the elder brother shiv lives . On their arrival in mumbai the father and son are baffled by the silence in the locality where shiv resides. Kaashi also realizes that the existence of his brothers and the fellow shopkeepers depends on the mercy of the don name kaatiya and his six brothers. Who has terrorized the whole city, nobody in their mind has the guts to stand up to them. Katiya has unleashed a reign of terror to grab their land by hook or crook. The doctor diagnoses shambunath's disease as cancer in the advanced stage and says that shambunath has a little time to live.

Kaashi who falls in love with gauri(meenakshi sheeshadri) who understands his problems and is the only solace during his depressing and difficult moments. Katiya with the help of his brothers heaps atrocities on the town people and kaashi's brother shiv also becomes a part of it, and kaashi's father who was humiliated right infront of the townpeople, dies right after because cancer.

Kaashi embraces violence to eliminate katiya and his six brothers, who couldn't forget The humiliation of his father at the hands of katiya who forced him to come down on all four and bark like a dog. The cold blooded killing of his brother and the townspeople.

Kaashi had his reasons for choosing his lethal (ghatak) path.

The direction by rajkumar santoshi is just superb, most people think his best direction is the legend of the bhagat singh, But this was the movie he should have been praised for. He just takes a simple story and fills it with beautiful dialogues, and gets nice performances from each one of his cast members. He and sunny deol always made a great team, Ghayal which got sunny deol his first film fare award, then damini which got him a supporting actor award, but also a bigger award national award.

The performances are one of the best I have ever seen,

Sunny deol as kaashinath sets the screen on fire with powerful dialogues delivery although it was hardhitting screaming role sunny deol shined as kaashinath, his emotional scenes with amrish puri, when he finds out that he's at the last stage of cancer, The scene where amrish puri is made a dog and is asked bark, The scene where the police officer's are bothering him. This sure was an award worth performance, they never nominated him for best actor, or anything, The award was given to aamir khan for raja hindustani, the movie I thought why it was a hit. Amrish puris, best performance in this movie of his lifetime it's a pleasure to watch amrish puri do these kinds of roles, I simply loved the scene when he tells his older son that kaashi is his best son. Amrish puri also got a supporting award for this performance. Danny also gives his best performance as the don kaatiya I always fellt that danny was an underrated actor, who could do any kind of a role, danny proved himself long time ago in the movie agnepath as kancha china, but before that he also got a supporting award for a movie called lahoo ke do rang starring vinod khanna, a old movie. Meenakshi sheeshadri gives her second best performance after the movie damini She was also a good actress, nobody could match her dialogue delivery. k.k rana who played sunny deol's brother was fantastic. Tinu anand does a good job also. The whole cast of the movie was superb.

Kaashinaath tune tu kaatiya ke jahan kuuutta banke nahin rehna chaha, par tera baap kuuuutta bankar mere samne dum hila raha hai mere talve chat raha hai, kuuutte ka pilla kuuuuta hota hai sher nahin tera baap kuuutta hai tu kuuutte ka pila.

Char aadmiyon ki zarurat nahin hai mujhe akela kaashi hi kaafi hai mer arthi ko kanda dene ke liye, vapas bana chala jayunga wahi jakar dum todonga apne kaashi ke paas.

Yeh mera aacha bhai hai meri bahut izzat karta hai mujhse puchey bina koi kaam nahin karta, lekin aaj yeh mujhse puchey bina mar geya, mujhe bola hota hai mein tujhe marne nahin deta re.

The music in the movie was good also, koi jaaye tu le aaye was really good the dance by mamata kulkarni was nice also.
