Dhoom 3 Movie Reviews

Idiotic dhoom
Mar 30, 2015 10:15 PM 4409 Views

Hello friends, today I'll be sharing my review on the movie Dhoom 3. The most hyped yet the biggest flop movie for me in 2014. This movie was so much hyped for Aamir Khan and the stunts that the ticket prices went up by 1000+ Rs.

So I got fooled when I went to the theatres to watch this movie for 600 and today when I saw it on Set Max, I thought of writkng a scathing review on it. First of all its a sin to watch this movie even for free. I m assuming everyone has watched and repented for it.

If you can't pay a loan then whose fault is it. Then you want to close the bank by looting it and throwing all the money away as if all the banks possessions and money is in the form of cash in a couple of locations. Then you have a cool fast bike which can be converted to a jet ski in a couple of seconds. You can ride a bike on a thin mettalic wire across buildings very slow and police doesn't shoot you.  All these things I can live with and understand but why would the US government with 10000+ security agencies working for them would seek help from two idiots in the name of Abhishek Bachan and Uday Chopra.

Watching this movie with family which costed me about 3000Rs is in my top ten regret lists. I would rather watch Don no 1, King No 1, Meri Jung one man army a hundred times then watching dhoom 3.

So I would advise you guys to change the channel if you come across dhoom 3 and rate it -5 it were possible but for now let's stick with 1.

DHOOM 3 - A super failure
Jun 09, 2014 08:13 PM 6989 Views

DHOOM 3: Its said that too much of anything is not good.  Now be it cricket, Dhoom series or Amir Khan. I feel Amir should title his movies as Amir 1, 2, 3. That way along with being in ever frame of the movie he can be in the title too. Why is it that he wants to play all the shades all together?  Why is it that he wants to bring all his talent to the table at once? And then we talk of maturity, precision,  perfection! I fail to understand Mr. Amir Khan. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra as Jay and Ali hit a jackpot when they signed the Dhoom 1. As protagonist very difficult to kill them and get rid of them in the forthcoming sequel. Now as if 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler were not enough to impress. .this time  Jay Dixit decides to make an entry in an auto rickshaw in the goon's den and create a havoc in the "basti"  .The humorous part is that and I was not aware that America has been so much paralyzed not just on the economic front but it has also gotten to their brain.  The Chicago police decides to  take help of Jay and Ali to solve the disastrous bank robberies. I mean common.how stupid is that for a plot.! The story line is amazing and could have been used to make classic like Italian Jobs. But as they say a fool with a tool is still a fool which so aptly applies to the director just like a pair of fitting jeans. There is no excitement in the movie. The director fails to en-cash on the  punches in the story, the surprise elements to build the mystery and keep it as an under current of the movie. Whatever he might have thought as a surprise is actually well anticipated by the smart Bollywood movie watching crowd as the flips are the same old. Overall its a big budget, star studded nonsense film. Kids love the bikes and the chase. Its a holiday season and if you don't mind spending some more apart from what you have already done on your Xmas gifts go ahead. I am only feeling let down by a big banner just when the year is about to end leaving a bitter taste.

Boring Senseless!

Such a pathetic movie with a big brand and big actors like Aamir Khan. Start was so boring!

Instead of bike stunts, which were senseless stunts, they should have made a plot like Don 2 of Shah Rukh.

Really dumb stunts with a cra** start. Makes me stop watching the movie within 30 mins of it starting.

Useless movie. Don't understand why they made this movie. The first stunt is fully bakwas where Amir Khan riding on rope.

Never watch even if it is broadcast on TV.

Excellent Action

According to me Dhoom 2 was more better than Dhoom 3

It’s a nice movie with lots of amazing scenes and the end of the movie is superb. The bike action scenes and a bit touch of sci-fi ideas to the bike were amazing. The startup plot was a bit sloppy but after few minutes the movie catches on. Interesting movie I recommend it to watch it and say 2013 goodbye with a good and satisfying movie.

According to me Dhoom 2 was more better than Dhoom 3

This Dhoom does a boom right across your face
Feb 02, 2014 11:47 AM 10328 Views

If the Dhoom series of movies was India’s version of heist movies, then someone, somewhere has misunderstood the definition. By roping in Aamir Khan, expectations are high. You go to watch the movie with the hope that the third part would outdo the others.

Aamir Khan plays Sahir, an illusionist/circus performer who is out to get revenge on a bank that refuses to extend a timeline to his father to repay a loan. Sahir’s father commits suicide in front of the banker and his son when he realizes that all is lost.

Targeting various branches of the bank(Western Bank of Chicago), Sahir believes that looting the vaults will bring the bank down (Clearly, he is not aware of US Reserve requirement regulations that state how much cash needs to be kept in reserve by the bank)

After various robberies, India’s top cop – Jai Dixit(Abhishek Bachchan) and his sidekick Ali Akbar(Uday Chopra) are called in to investigate (Umm. under what jurisdiction?) amidst wide press coverage. Sahir decides that nothing is better than stealing the money right from the noses of the police by posing as a helpful civilian who knows the criminal. Now, he has access to the vaults, blueprints and where new cameras are being added (Again, who put Jai Dixit in charge?)

The robbery is committed and Sahir escapes and while being pursued, is shot at by Jai. Jai figures that Sahir is the thief and confronts him. However, there is no gunshot wound and Sahir is not arrested. The plot seems to thicken only to be diluted by Bollywood’s cliche of Judwa Bhai(twin brother).

Enter Samar, Sahir’s somewhat dim-witted twin. Jai comes to know of this and exploits Samar’s romantic feelings to get to Sahir. Will he be successful and stop the final robbery that will bring the bank down? Well, that’s the part where the story surprises you.

Between the extended bike chases and Ali’s unlaughable jokes, the movie will have you constantly checking your watch. For me, a heist movie works best if you see how the whole thing is planned and, a couple of twists later, is executed.

Dhoom 3 lacks everything in this department. All you see is the writing on the wall and the blaring alarms. Scenes such as the one where Sahir & Jai joust on bikes with sticks and rods are unintentionally funny. Music is passable and none so catchy. Visuals and locations are great, the last scene at the dam is one such example.

If you want to watch a biker movie, even a movie like Torque will meet your expectations. If you want a heist movie – Ocean’s Eleven or The Bank Job are choices that come randomly to mind. Neither here, nor there, DHOOM:3 fails to impress. I would go with just 1.5 stars for this movie.

PS: Oh! there is a heroine in the movie, Aaliya(Katrina Kaif). She appears in a few songs and has not more than a few lines of dialogue. So nothing to report here.

Good movie love amir
Feb 01, 2014 09:51 PM 9829 Views

I watched this for Aamir khan, but I really salute to the technicians director music director complete cast, and makeup artist and cameramen and dance directors, the complete team is excellent.

I thought of giving 5 stars but giving 1 less due to Abhishek Bacchan's flop acting and Uday Chopra's monkey jumps. Without them, it would have been a hollywood movie

Utter disappointment with Aamir
Jan 21, 2014 03:15 PM 9268 Views

Utter disappointment from Aamir Khan and Aditya Chopra. This film is making Abhishek and Aamir look like Chuck Norris.

Please just act in movies that suit you. And Aditya Chopra should have stuck to what makes his movies special. And what's with not showing the robbery scene? Isn't Dhoom famous for that?

This was a huge let down in terms of story, script and action.

Ride with Dhoom 3
Jan 14, 2014 04:49 PM 9596 Views

Dhoom 3 is a movie which is expensive, super sleek and have never before seen action sequences. The movie basically rides on the shoulders of Aamir khan and every other character has been relegated to sidelines. Uday Chopra and Abhisehk Bachchan are irritating and katrina kaif is only in the movie cause the makers wanted to somehow fit a female.

The Second half of the film is extremely predictable and at time you may feel as if you have seen this story earlier too.The Action sequences are however amazing and the film looks expensive.

Over all, you can watch the film once.

Just a media hype
Jan 07, 2014 01:50 PM 10377 Views

This movie is probably the best example of what media hype can do for a cinema. Long time, I have heard that media is run by money and in this case it's eye opening how the distribution house spent money for the media and in return the hype caused caused them so many folds profit for a movie which is not even worth of a fraction of it's income.

A few questions-

1) How did Aamir Khan sign this? Where did his perfectionism go? He tried hard and probably the only worth watching event in the movie.(may be he didn't have control of YSR production?)

2) What was Uday Chopra doing? Subtract him from the movie and you find no effect.

3) Abhishek was there because he had to.

4) Subtract Katrina, no effect again in the quality.

5) What was the need of USA here?

I liked Jackie Shroff's brief appearance. I liked 2-3 scenes of Aamir Khan's- more specifically when the brother's face each other scene, the expressions of Aamir, and a few close moments of the brothers.

Except the above, rest is scrappy.

No theft is being shown, could have been a technical marvel in Bollywood if details would have been worked upon that in the line of Mission Impossible.

Crores of money have been spent but all if no effect.

This film will only be remembered in terms of money which was earned by not the movie but by the power of media. It was a pain to watch till the last after such a long duration.

I cannot write any review of this movie since it's not even worth of that. Consider this just as a frustrated post from a Aamir Khan.

Dhoom 3 - Not worth the appreciation!!
Jan 03, 2014 12:14 PM 9937 Views

After a lot of buzz, when Dhoom3 finally released, I was expecting it to be a superhit. But however, it turned to be a disappointment.

Firstly, the movie has no storyline. Such a film was not expected from Aamir. It would have been better if they revealed how the robbery was actually done. The music is also not good, not a single song that you remember once you are out of the show. A

Amir's double role and a few more suspense are nice. As usual, Abhishek and Uday did nothing in the movie. Katrina looks stunning but unfortunately she does not have much to do in the movie except for dance in the songs. Some of the action scenes are great and worth the watch. However, the movie is a success only because of its starcast.

Those who have watched the movie and who agree with my point of view, will understand this:

"Bande hai ye kiske, Kisne dia inhe itna zor,

Chappal se maarenge inko, agar banaya inhone Dhoom4!"

AAMIR ACTED LIKE SHAHRUKH KHAN OF MY NAME IS KHAN.
Jan 01, 2014 12:34 PM 10847 Views

DUPLICATE ROLE OF AAMIR WAS ACCEPTABLE. BUT WHY DID DUPLICATE AAMIR  ACTED LIKE SHAHRUKH KHAN OF "MY NAME IS KHAN." HE REMINDED ME OF SRK. HE COULD HAVE BEEN ORIGINAL.

KATRINA KAIF WAS AWESOME AS USUAL. ABHISHEK BACHAN & ADITYA ARE FULL CARTOON TYPE CHARACTERS. THERE WAS NO NEED TO KEEP THEM IN FILM. AAMIR ALONE WAS ENOUGH TO CARRY THE COMPLETE MOVIE.

SONGS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER.

No logic- only magic
Dec 29, 2013 12:29 PM 3519 Views

Why? why? why?

Why did I part with Rs 900 of my hard earned salary to watch this movie? Was it because Aamir Khan was playing the lead? Was it because I loved fast bikes? Was it because it was a sequel to the great DHOOM franchise? I cant be sure. The only thing I am sure of was that I have not left a theater in the recent past feeling so disappointed.

Abhishek Bachchan and his leather jacket continue to bore me as it did almost 10 years ago when Dhoom was released. Uday Chopra should really think twice before calling himself an "actor". Katrina Kaif does what she was told to do, i.e. look good. Its really unbelievable how far a pretty face can take you in movies and life.

Aamir Khan is good but unfortunately I thought his character was a bit overwritten and overplayed. Aamir Khan's facial expressions during some parts of the film reminded me of my university exams when I was stuck in an exam hall for three hours and there was no way I could leave to take a bathroom break.

To the plot now. The main "twist" has been directly copied from the film "THE PRESTIGE". I advice you to leave out basic common sense at home if you are going to watch Dhoom 3. The film has Aamir Khan playing Saahir, a magician in a circus named the Great Indian Circus. He is out to avenge his father's (Jackie Shroff) death who killed himself when he failed to pay back a bank loan and lost everything he had. The villains are a bank called the Western Bank of Chicago, headed by a man who I think was chosen by Yash Raj because he was the most expressionless foreigner I have seen.

A couple of questions that a person with a decent brain would ask are how did Saahir Khan's father acquire a house the size of the White House while running an Indian Circus bang in the middle of Chicago. Also how is Saahir able to return and avenge his father after being orphaned and having his property confiscated? Given that Saahir wakes up in an million dollar apartment overlooking the sea, you either have to revise your understanding of the economic output of circuses, or just curse yourself for not having been born into a circus family.

Back to the story. Aamir Khan is set on robbing banks. Unfortunately there are no scenes showing how he actually goes about robbing banks and no explanation given as to how he is able to evade the high security measures present in the bank. So Saahir not only breaks vaults, leading to money showering down from the bank on the road below like confetti at a wedding but he also welds 'teri aisi ki taisi' on the said locker room and leaves a pretty big, weird looking clown mask behind like all the other Dhoom thieves.

So now the Chicago police, instead of seeking help from the FBI or the million other security agencies in America, decide to bring in two clowns from India to crack the case. ACP Jai Dixit and Ali are entrusted to catch the thief. Now go and pray that the Chicago police never have the misfortune of watching Dhoom3, which might lead the US to outlaw Indians altogether.

The songs are boring and I bet you wont remember a single one when you finish watching the movie. Dhoom and  Dhoom2 both had some very nice songs and also some good dance moves. Nothing of that sort here.

Dhoom was a huge hit because of all the crazy bike chase scenes. The Dhoom series was supposed to be Bollywood's answer to the fast and the furious series. Sadly Dhoom 3 only has a couple of chase sequences and most of it unbelievable and has CGI effects. The stunts in Dhoom were real and had real risk involved. With Dhoom3, you rarely get excited. And the less said about Saahir's bike the better. It is able to transform into a bike or a jet-ski at will.

Personally, I believe that  Aamir Khan was not the right choice to play the lead. He has neither the size nor the sexy bad-boy looks of John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan in the previous films. I couldn't stop myself from giggling whenever Aamir and Abhishek appeared in any scenes in which they were standing. It reminded me of my mom and dad. My mom is only 5 ft tall while my dad is almost 6ft. In Dhoom3 Saahir is sort of like a victim, since he decides to rob the bank as revenge, while in Dhoom and Dhoom2, John and Hrithik rob simply because they could.

Ultimately, the film is let down by a convenient script and its inability to deliver solid entertainment. All you expect from the Dhoom movies is a thrill ride, but this one makes you feel like you're stranded in a Saturday evening traffic jam in Bangalore. I am giving it 2 out of 5 only because I liked the cinematography and I have been a Dhoom fan since I was 14. I cant believe the amount of positive reviews being given on websites and newspapers. Maybe its all the love and happiness surrounding Christmas.

Cheers!!

Good for Aamir fans - No appealing music this time
Dec 28, 2013 12:57 PM 3198 Views

Went first day to watch Dhoom3 with certain expectations from Dhoom series & of course Yash Raj banner movie.

Fights, Malang & Aamir Khan steals the show. Dance steps in Kamli is outstanding.

Unlike previous Dhoom movies, there are no modus operandi of the theft shown in the movie. These was keeping audience glued to their seats in previous series. These actions were missing in Dhoom 3. The entire plot is about Chase between Cop & Thief.

Abhishek Bacchan & Uday Chopra are as usual in previous flicks of Dhoom. But not as entertaining as previous ones.

Overall, I found the movie good would rate 3.5 out of 5. But was not up to my expectations, though good.

Don't give it a miss if you are an Aamir fan!

Magic! Magic !! there is no magic like Dhoom 2 !!!
Dec 27, 2013 04:31 PM 4402 Views

Hello Guys.

Normally, I write reviews only in 2 cases, one, when I like something very much and second is when I hate something. Obviously DHOOM 3 review belongs to second case.

Very first, if you are Amir fan or Amir lover, then quit reading right away, this review is not for you.

Lets get going with the review.

Starcast - Why Amir, what was wrong with Hritik? Amir or his personality does not fits this role at all. He has showcased minimal acting skills and expressions. Although he has too much of screen presence through out the movie but all in vain. Only one big bonus for Amir fans, which I will not disclose. During bike chases he has maintained a strict one expression, or may be the stuntmen are wearing same mask all the time.

Abhishek Bachchan & Uday Chopra did what was expected from them. Katarina, the baby doll, as usual has a role limited to 2-3 songs and 2-3 lines to speak in broken tongue rolling hindi. Thats it, No one else has any role to play in the entire movie.

Music & Background score - Music or songs, I watched the movie last night last show and to be honest or frank, I dont remember any song. Background score is too harsh and too much of use of Dhoom theme across the movie played in harsh instruments which surely takes the toll.

Special Effects - Krish 3 scores much higher in this segment. High speed biking scenes, if observed closely are not high speed at all, if your eyes are smart enough, bikes are much slowers and camera is much faster. Entry of Amir, running down the tall building, you can easily make out that his feet are barely or not even touching the building walls. I guess, BMW will commit suicide after seeing the capabilities added to their bikes by bollywood. Mixing of foreground with background(old days super impose), object outlines are clearly scene. Stunt and special effects directors tried to create many WOW scenes but failed.

First scene of Auto Rikshaw stunt, in some front angles, rikshaw looks like cutout in front of the camera and stunts performed by rikshaw, atleast indians wont believe that an auto can perform this way.

So on special effects and Amir point of view, they have tried to present all larger than life. Failed drastically.

Cinematography & Art direction - on this front movie scores little better. Sets used for Circus opening show / song are very impressive. Some locations do major roles in nice cinematic experience, same is the case for these shots. Hidden arrangements mechanism for performing magics in the show are shown much in detail and gets little closer to hollywood finish. Cinematic experience is overall good not great.

Story / Plot - Mix bag of thrill, action, some old stuff and one surprise.I wont disclose this surprise. He is shown to run a circus, but that show looks more of a magic & dance show, why? dont ask me, no girls with small skirts, no animals, even bank owner complains the same so did my son;). Some major flaws, the circus hall is same through out the movie but the performance stage is so flexible to look small as well as huge at the same time.

Logic - Totally no logic movie. Dragged for almost 3 hours, delivers less, always raises viewer's expectations but delivers way low than increased expectations.

Amir fans my love this movie as many have already rated this movies as 4 or 5 stars in many other reviews. Kids may be happy for biking, and for kids, parents will be forced to contribute more towards crossing 200 CR mark.

All in all, left me wondering why Amir? why not Hritik's dhoom 2 magic repeated? Even if you dont watch, nothing to loose, within 1-2 months it will be showcased on TV.

Oh.lets not drag this review for 3 hours.

Bye for this time, hoping to get to penn down a nice review on real good movie very soon.

Enjoy New Year, dont drink and drive. Have a happy and safe new year.

Why so serious?
Dec 27, 2013 12:14 AM 3441 Views

Just saw Dhoom 3. My review on it:

Its back after 7 years.and with a bang or let's say Dhoom? Yeah, to an extent.

The main problem with Dhoom 3 is that its predecessor was cool while this one is serious. All the time you sit through the entire film and you wonder why someone as talented as Aamir Khan would wear the same expression through most of the film(and we see him in the most of the film, literally).

Almost in the entire film, you see his brows knitted, nose crinkled and lips crunched in anger as if some annoying little rebellious child is crying and disturbing him while he was watching a movie. You cry revenge Aamir, we get that!

Apart from it, this is definitely a movie which actually takes Bollywood action to a whole new level. The production scale is massive. The grandeur is reflected in every frame of the movie. Everything from costumes to songs and stunt is massive!

Cast:

Aamir khan justifies his role to an extent although he certainly cannot match the cool quotient which Hrithik Roshan had in the previous film but he acts well. He tries a lot to steal the show but he never quite manages to awestruck you. Abhishek shows his potential in the the time frame he got. He is clearly underrated. Uday Chopra was really needed here(not kidding!) in order to make this immensely serious movie a bit light hearted venture. Katrina looks stunning in what she does best. How does she maintain that gorgeously slim body?

Direction:

Err.the direction can be best called inconsistent. There are too many cuts in the chase sequences and Vijay loses hold in the second half of the film although he makes up quite a bit for it in the climax chase sequence. His shot taking is the best it can get in an action film.Editing could have been better.

Story and Screenplay:

This Dhoom is different from all the action movies out there. Cause this one has a heart. This is not only a good looking ferrari but has a seriously good engine too. You cannot get a better script in an action movie than this.

The screenplay is good but you feel it could have been better. The second half makes you shift in your seats and looks like that the movie is just stretched too long. No other character than Aamir's is well crafted and characterized. Maybe, it was editing that had to do with the problem. Here, it is never shown how the thief performs the robbery instead its just the chase sequences leaving you quite dissatisfied with the film.

Music:

Music here is easy to ears at most. Title track is quite good and Malang one is grand.

Other than that, songs come and go, and you never notice them.

Conclusion:

Its not a movie where I expect you whistle or get that bone-chilling and nerve-wrecking experience. The stunts are awesome and unbelievable ones are shown with great sincerity which makes them quite believable. There are loop holes in the films but other aspects overpower it. The movie is like 3 star for most of the part but manages to cater one more as the climax finishes. Its a film that should be watched at 300 rupee ticket at most for it to be satisfying.

Rating:

4/5

or

400 ki ticket pe 320 vasool.(It may be less if you are obsessed with Hollywood blindly)

Serious note:(no offence intended)

People who are comparing this film with Hollywood action movies should know that you cannot compare Micromax with an iPhone, you should realize that our own homegrown product is actually improving and is good as it can be and  should feel proud for it. Plus, if you don't get that still, we have 3 idiots and many more family entertainers, what do you have?

P.S. Even I love Avengers and Bonds and X-mens, but you cannot be indifferently partial.

Dhoom 3 - A Yet another copycat Indian Blockbuster
Dec 25, 2013 05:23 PM 4723 Views

Dhoom - 3, A much hyped movie of Too Much Hyped Star Amir, and Too Much Talked about Heroine - Miss Kaif, over all excellent movie for an average viewer who watches only Indian Movies but **Dhoom - 3 will be nothing more than average for the user who views the hollywood movies too.

Many of the shots are scene to scene copy of the hollywood movie, The Prestige and Now You See Me.** Entry of Abhishek reminded me of south indian cinemas where we are supposed to keep our brains in our pockets.

Strip Dance of Miss Katrina Kaif was Awesome - An example for Bollywood Actreses. Malang Song too Rocked - The Aamir - Kaif Duo Was Excellent. Uday Chopra Comedy seems to have bored the public after all seeing same scenes in all three versions don't make any sense.

Stunts were ok but in comparison to Krish or Hollywood Movie it was not that good. Dressing of Amir had touched hearts of many female viewers and will influence the male dressing sense too, the style which reached back to the Britishers era, but showed of American one.

Katrina's Exposition of her body in dance said it all. But acting? Abhishek was shown as good and intelligent cop by director so I had to believe it, but his acting or Plot showed nothing like that.

The Orignal Acting like GURU was not observed in Prince of Bacchan Dynasty.

Finally not at all going technically & like one good Aam Adami it was a entertainer and good movie.

Dhoom 3 - I am sure Batman & Robin are crying :P
Dec 25, 2013 01:17 AM 4993 Views

The Dhoom series is an Indian franchise of action films that has entertained audiences since its first part in 2004. 6 years after its second part released (Dhoom 2 released in 2006) – audiences eagerly awaited its third part because YRF cast the very versatile Aamir Khan as the thief.

As a part of the series, Dhoom has been about hi-tech thieves and their background story. The movie in some places lacks logic and the basic physics but being a Hindi film it is allowed to be a little OTT.

The movie is about the fiery, dangerous clown thief & magician Sahir (Aamir Khan) who runs the ‘Great Indian Circus’ and also robs a giant Chicago bank. Going back in time, Sahir’s father (Jackie Shroff) was struggling to keep the Great Indian circus going.

Financial instability and the bank officers unimpressed with his ‘new’ tricks refuse to help him – he commits suicide in front of young Sahir whose only mission now is to destroy the bank that he holds responsible for his father’s death.

Since the Chicago police have failed more than once to nab the culprit they now summon upon cops from India to solve a bank robbery.

The movie kicks off at a very good note but the tap dance in the beginning doesn’t suit Aamir (maybe he should stop believing that everything he does suits him). Just after you have seen the bare bodied villain on screen, it’s now time for India’s top cop ACP Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachan) & his sidekick Ali Akbar’s (Uday Chopra) entry. Only so that our ACP & the thief get equal amount of screen space – it’s a long(also not to forget illogical & lame) introduction scene for both of them!

Although Saahir doesn’t show too many expressions during the fight sequences, it’s now time to feed the audiences with some glamor – Aaliya (Katrina Kaif) who tries too hard to act but unfortunately she can’t (If the late very respected Mr Yash Chopra couldn’t get some expressions on her face – I think the audiences should give up their hopes). She is like a flexible pretty doll that does her lavish acrobatics & trapezes really well but mind it without any expressions. She is a part of Saahir’s circus troop. The Action scenes are shot, directed have been on par with Hollywood’s action sequences. The first part ends with revealing its big twist before the interval.  A big drawback - the first half of the movie lacks the solid hardcore dialogues which were much needed.

The second part is a little too extended with an unnecessary song (could have been edited out) between Saahir & Aaliya (is it only to give her one more song as she is in the film only for the songs and about 10 dialogues). Aamir Khan as a villain is not the typically sexy one(like the other two parts) but in the second half you tend to really like his character and one somewhere sympathizes with him. Although the earlier two parts of Dhoom showcased how the robbery was carried out – Dhoom 3 lacks the same.

The actual robbery has not been shown; the movie is all about convertible bikes, sexy dance moves, expensive songs, a couple of hi tech gadgets & illogical moves. The second half lacks grip which was the USP of the earlier two parts.

Also, the child actor (Siddharth Nigam) who essays the role of younger Saahir is a delight on screen that lights up the screen with his presence. Jackie Shroff as Aamir’s father has done full justice to his small role in the film.

Some positive points –

• Uday’s character is no longer the ‘annoying’ Ali.

• Abhishek Bachan has acted decently well.

• Katrina does what she is best at – looking good & has put in hard work for the dance she does in the movie.

• Siddharth Nigam (young Aamir) & Jackie Shroff – acted amazingly well.(Katrina – may be even Siddharth can give you acting tips)

• Aamir – acted really well and one can see his perfectionist nature in minute details. E.g. - the way he wears his hat.

• Great screenplay

Negative points –

• Aamir may be got too influenced by his leading lady & has no expressions in his tap dance.

• Katrina – expressionless as always.

• No chemistry between Aamir & Katrina.

• Uday Chopra – YRF tried to give his character some sense, sorry it’s not working!

• Lacks logic in many places – Why would the Chicago police call cops from India rather than hiring FBI or CIA, complete lack of logic (convertible bikes?) & physics sense.

Pondicherry India
Easily one of the worst movies ever made!

My greatest regret is that I did not leave my seat midway through the movie. Such a worthless piece of "work"!

This is the movie equivalent of a Frankenstein' s monster! The irony is that the movie will go on to make hundreds of crores powered by hype alone - the kind of saturation advertisement that forces people to watch and lose money .  and more importantly lose  three hours of one's  life. If there was a law against such tactics, I would be suing them!

Aamir Khan has done a lot of damage to his reputation by inserting himself into this movie. And I must say that he has damaged the style of the Dhoom series in turn with his compulsion to project himself more than the movie series's theme.

However, he has lost insight to realise that I think. Narcissism has corroded his mind. He is going the Rajni  way, sans all the fun. Learning tap dancing for months or burning fat to create a gymnastic body just does not make a good film.  Even the the much touted special effects are pretty ordinary and borrowed. Even if Katrina were to shed the rest of her clothes, I wouldn't raise the stars by a millihelen!
