UFC Championship series
Aug 17, 2015 03:31 PM 3953 Views

We friends went on to go watch this movie last weekend(As no other good star cast movie was released) and I personally was really disappointed with the story.

It has good star cast like Akshay, Jacqueline, Sidharth and many more but the story seemed like the UFC Championship series.

I am the fan of UFC and I know how does it work and their was nothing that I can relate to this movie and real UFC.

This story looks more like the real Bollywood masala which revolve around the two bros who love and hate each other at same time.End is typically a Bollywood way and that was the biggest disappointment for me.

A VERY GOOD MOVIE...
Aug 17, 2015 11:53 AM 2373 Views

Brothers is the second film directed by Karan Malhotra after Agneepath. The film is a mixture of Emotions and action.I am waiting to watch this movie when I was watched the trailer of this movie.

Brothers has both drama and emotions with never seen before fight sequence. Akshay Kumar looks like a real MMA fighter and Sidharth Malhotra is so raw and outstanding.

The movie does  have its wonderful shot scenes which are pretty touching for the viewer.

Now come to the acting part. Akshay Kumar as a David delivered best as a third film after Baby and Gabbar is back. Sidharth had his role in the same line as Ek Villain.Akshay kumar is doing awesome movies in these days. Jacqueline as a jenny as supportive and good mother also.Jackie shroff has done a good work in this movie.

You can watch this movie with family also.

Brothers as an awesome movie . karan malhotra did a great job  in brothers, it is official remake of hollywood movie warriors . movie starts with Gary Fernandez an ex street fighter who had two son David and monty from different mothers.

Gary lives with Monty and his elder son David hate him, the new turn came into movie when  Monty and David both take part in right to fight the official fighting show and which conditions they faced,

I am not going to tell you the full story it will be good if you watch this movie because akshay Kumar and Siddharth malhotra both did a great job,  role of jackey shroff was good. It is the best fighter movie made in India. In my opinion just go and watch this blood against blood fight.

The story of the movie was quite predictable. the flim starts very slow in the beginning and dull, then later gets little interesting.

The scenes were good. fighting, workout scenes were enjoyable. The fight was a joy to see. The story remaining the obvious couldn't catch much of my attention.

The movie is not a great one but its worth a watch if you have nothing to do and if u love seeing fights.I personally think this movie doesnt deserve the money I paid for it to see in the theatre

First ever martial arts movie in the B Town!!
Aug 16, 2015 12:54 AM 3575 Views

Have you ever seen a movie so gripping that even an item song looks like a hurdle?.Brothers is that movie for sure.again the critics have panned this awesome movie.

Well, with the powerful performances of the main leads, the intense melodrama in the first half build the characters and turns into stunning fights in the second half.

The critics with mediocre mindset also panned the movie for its fights forgetting that Akshaykumar is a trained martial artist.

The movie depicts the defensive nature of Akshaykumar rightfully called David the teacher and the exactly opposite attacking character of Siddharth.monty fernandes! These choices of roles goes well with Akshay knowing the martial arts better than Siddharth. Anyways.the final fight will make you restless and then.the movie wins!

BROTHERS - Represent The Spirit of Sportsmanship
Aug 15, 2015 11:14 PM 2933 Views

Akshay Kumar starrer Brothers has got the successfully opening of 15 crore on first day.

The concept of the movie is based on legalized the Street Fighting. There is 2 Brothers Akshay Kumar & Siddharth Malhotra, Father Jackir Shroff and 2 popular actors who had their came back in this after couple of years and no one talk about them, Its Kiran Kumar & Ashutosh Rana. Siddhart Malhotra is represents in a Negative Role.

The first half is not impressive with full of emotions & family drama however the second half of the movie is just turn around and up the movie with its Hollywood touch street fighting and concept.

Songs & Music is not touching but fight scenes is ultimate. The End is a superbly written and acted in the Ring which is a Fight Scene between Akshay & Siddharth. This weekend you'll surely go for it and enjoy the remake of Warrior - Brothers.

War of brothers david and monty
Aug 15, 2015 08:54 PM 2624 Views

I watched this movie first day and first show because karan johar is my favorite director and siddharth malhothra is my favorite actor.

But it was not good as I had expected from karan johar, and it is officially adapted from hollywood movies  warriors with shades of fight club and rocky thrown in.

It is the story of two brothers david and monty where akshay kumar as david and siddharth malhothra as monty.

A deep wound from their childhood festers strongly, and when they face each other in a ring, they go for the kill!

Their backstory with a dissolute, drunk fighter for a father(Jackie Shroff), and large hearted loving woman for a mother(shah) is effectively executed.

But I didn't like the fight and blood scenes! I was feeling like coming out of the theatre! but money matters!I recommend please do not watch this movie! especially for children where they make them scare!

Awesome movie
Aug 15, 2015 08:34 PM 3226 Views

I watched brothers yesterday, its an awesome movie  although I have seen Hollywood movie warriors whose remake is brothers but they put Indian touch in the story.

The story moves around Gary Fernandez who was a street fight and a irresponsible father, his son Monty( sidharth malhotra) and physics teacher David( akshay Kumar).

Monty and David both are son of Gary. David didn't like Gary for his irresponsible behavior as a parent. Story take a new turn when David find his daughter is suffering a kidney problem and he became a fighter for money. I am not gonna tell you the whole story but I suggest you to watch the movie. Because all the cast did a great job and you should watch the movie

This BLOOD VS BLOOD Fight Is Average...
Aug 15, 2015 02:49 PM 3839 Views

When the right people are involved in remaking a well-made and acclaimed film, one doesn’t really that the remake will go wrong. However, Brothers is an exception. It is directed by Karan Malhotra whose previous film Agneepath was not just a fine piece of cinema, but also better than the original in my opinion! It’s produced by Dharma Productions, known for some great films. Moreover, the original producer Lionsgate is also involved. Shockingly, Brothers turns out to be an average fare. Despite the dramatization and ‘Indianizing’ the whole thing, the film lacks emotional depth at most places.

The story of the movie: Ex-fighter Garson Fernandes(Jackie Shroff) is out of the prison for a gruesome crime that he committed many years ago. He starts mentoring his younger son Monty(Sidharth Malhotra) who has all the qualities to become a top fighter. Garson tries to reconcile with his older son David(Akshay Kumar) but he doesn’t seem interested in all. David was also a fighter once but is now a physics teacher in a school. He is married to Jenny(Jacqueline Fernandez) and they have a six-year old daughter Maria(Naisha Khanna). Maria suffers from a kidney ailment and its treatment requires lot of money. An international mixed martial arts(MMA) tournament called R2F(Right To Fight) is all set to commence in Mumbai. Both David and Monty decide to participate, but for different reasons.

Those who have seen Warrior will surely be dejected by the film, especially in the first half. But even those who haven’t will realize that the initial hour doesn’t really manage to grip viewers well. The flashback portions take up a lot of time. The remake also has the character of the mother(Shefali Shah) which was absent in Warrior. It gives a nice touch to the film, on paper. But the execution is such that it doesn’t really make an impact on celluloid. One doesn’t really get drawn into or empathize with what the brothers go through. Thankfully, the film gets better in the second half when the R2F commences. The fight with Gama is hilarious but the sound of the punch should have been stronger to make it look more convincing. The other fights are quite fun as well. Yet, the emotional angle is missing. Thankfully, the climax is a bit moving. It’s the most emotional portion of the film.

Somewhere, the performances get affected too due to the faulty script. However, one can’t deny that the actors have worked really hard. Akshay Kumar is the apt choice for this role. The scenes where he is training are stunning. The star anyways works hard on his physique but in this film, he has gone way ahead. Performance wise, he gives his best. This is especially in the finale. Sidharth Malhotra works even harder as he has to match up to Akshay Kumar. The actor gives his everything for this role and the dedication shows. Surprisingly, he doesn’t speak much but the impact is made with his eyes and also of course, his punches! Jackie Shroff steals the show, especially in the first half with his outbursts. He has always been a fine performer and this film just reaffirms that! Jacqueline Fernandez doesn’t have much to do but gives a decent performance. Naisha Khanna is fine. Shefali Shah puts her best foot forward. Ashutosh Rana(Pasha) is quite delightful. Kiran Kumar(Peter Braganza) is over the top but that is the requirement of the role and he does it very well. Kulbhushan Kharbanda gives a good performance and his scenes would surely be liked. Raj Zutshi and Kavi Shastri do a fine job as the commentators. The kids playing the younger David and Monty perform nicely. Real fighters have been used and they add to the realism. Finally, Kareena Kapoor is at her sexiest best in the song Mary.

Ajay-Atul’s music is soulful but won’t be remembered much. The only song that has a long life is Mary. The item song is unnecessary but one won’t complain as Kareena takes it to another level. Ajay-Atul’s background score however is exhilarating. Hemant Chaturvedi’s cinematography compliments the proceedings well. Justin Yu and Eric Brown’s action is one of the highlights of the film. Siddharth-Garima’s dialogues are fine for most of the film but at some places it goes bit out of hand. Why would anyone introduce a German fighter by saying ‘Ye Hitler ke desh se hai’?! Gavin O'Connor and Cliff Dorfman’s original story is brilliant and has all the ingredients of powerful film. However, the adapted screenplay(Ekta Pathak Malhotra) is a bit dragging. Karan Malhotra’s direction too fails to match up to Gavin O'Connor’s execution. Just by dramatizing or adding an additional family angle won’t make the film better or moving. The original didn’t have the character of mother and was shorter and yet it made a far better impact. Hope, Karan Malhotra gets back to his form in Shhuddhi because the stakes would be higher in that film and he can’t go wrong out there!

On the whole, Brothers is strictly an average film. Even if one has not seen the original film, one might be disappointed, especially with the film’s first half. What make the film watchable are the fight scenes, performances, climax and Kareena Kapoor’s song. But overall, it could have been much better and shorter. This one is a rare not-so-great film from Dharma Productions!

My rating - 2.5/5

Brothers is really a awesome movie as expected by seeing the promos Akshay Kumar and Sidhdarth malothra has done a lot of hard work as they have to play the charector of MMA fighter.

I went to watch this movie because the promos was really impressive to attract the viewers in the cinema halls. Brothers is a official remake of Hollywood movie, warrior the story line of this movie  is very nice the film has loads of both emotion and drama.

The movie revolves around two Mumbai half brothers, part of a family Once was fate brings the two street fighters head to head in a MMA contest. One of them is in the arena for the money that could save his calling daughter, the other is in the game to redeem his alcoholic father.  Overall this movie is  really awesome to  glued me to the screen.

Awsome movie..
Aug 14, 2015 04:27 PM 3054 Views

After watching trailer I was thinking, why did they give'Brothers' title to this film. Now I got my answer after watching this movie.

A complete mixture of good story+quite interesting screenplay+good listen-able music+family emotions and action scenes. Movie starts very slow, took almost first 30 minutes to settle as if we can easily watch movie after half an hour.

Then movie takes pace, involved us in their story and suddenly interval appears. 1st half left us with excitement what will happen in 2nd half and then 2nd half glued us to our seats till the end. 2nd half never drags for a minute. Martial art training scenes, fighters fight and little bit thrills completely immersed everyone in the movie.

But I really think the climax could have been better don't know why makers did not think about any other way to end the movie. Anyways its not that important cause these things are avoidable. Acting wise Akshay Kumar and Siddhart Malhotra both delivers power packed performances.

I repeat both delivers power packed performances not quality performances cause their characters was made to do so. We all have seen Akshay doing martial arts many times before but this time its much bigger and Siddhart also joins him this time. Jackie shines all the way with his old dramatic role.

Jaqueline role is small she didn't got too much to do but still whatever she has done is quite okay. Other star cast were strictly okay. Music is not huge hit but each and every song is situational so leaves much better impact.'Gaaye Ja' sounds one of the most melodious song in its particular scene.'Mary' is catchy massy song and plays much better in theater. Overall a fairly good music to movie's genre.

Screenplay was very loose in 1st half but very tight in 2nd half. Movie runtime is 155 minutes long and its not useful at all. They could have easily reduced it by 10-15 minutes. Direction is fairly good, He already had remake in hand so he doesn't have anything to try any experience.

Still he has made a fairly watchable movie. Overall a good entertaining family drama with never seen before martial arts in bollywood. Its like experiencing fighting show in theater. I don't think anyone will leave theater with disappointment. Being an Akshay fan I say its must watch movie but being neutral I say its not must watch but definitely an one time watch for all. Only kids and senior citizens can skip it otherwise its for all ages and for all kind of audience.

Very good...

Finally the much hyped movie released, BROTHERS., it's a remake of a English movie Warriors.

The movie is very impressive, story is very heart touching.

Akshay kumar has started doing different films and this one is also a different from his other movies, he acted very well, his emotional side is very heartfelt.

Siddharth malhotra also has done a very commendable job, fighting sequences were good.story revolves around the bond between the two brothers and how the differences come between them and how they finally overcome them.

Overall a good movie to watch with family over the weekend.

I think Brothers is the remake of Hollywood movie warrior were the youngest son of an alcoholic former boxer returns home.

Where he's trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament - a path that puts the fighter on a collision course with his estranged, older brother.

I have to say it was a very pleasant surprise for me to watch that movie, very enjoyable I hope it gets the audience it deserves. People! Give it a try even if it's not your usual cuppa tea.

Two brothers born to different mothers grow up together but now at loggerheads.

If you have not yet watched the 2011 Hollywood film ‘Warrior’, I recommend you watch the Indian version. Though the core of the plot is untouched, the variations made for the Indian audience is apt and emotionally captivating.

Story: Monty(Siddharth Malhotra), son of a street fighter Gary Fernandes(Jackie Shroff) is born illegitimate. Maria(Shefali Shah), Gary’s wife and mother of David(Akshay Kumar) though hurt by her husband’s infidelity, accepts Monty as her second son after his mother expired.

Gary is an irresponsible father, an uncaring husband and an alcoholic, regularly causing disturbing atmosphere at home.  David holds his father responsible for ruining his life and blames Monty as the cause of his mother’s death and thus dissociates himself from the family. David is a Physics teacher at a school and married to Jenny(Jacquelene Fernandes).

He has a daughter with kidney problems and struggles to make both ends meet. Being trained to fight, he enters the fighting arena to earn a quick buck. His stamina, strength and patience wins him the fight. Monty on the other hand is a hot headed fighter losing to his anger. While the illegal street fights continue in Mumbai, Peter Breganza(Kiran Kumar) wants to turn this illegal sport into an official tournament involving local and international fighters. Thus an approval is finally obtained for Right to Fight – R2F tournament to be held in Mumbai. David and Monty qualify in this Rs.9 crore prize money tournament and go all out with the determination to win the title.

Cast Performance: With aptly selected cast, the performances came out pretty strong. Akshay with his real greyish beard looked tough enough and suited the character of a struggling father.  Jacquelene was superb and managed the middle class look. Jackie Shroff was outstanding and poured his heart out in his character of drowning in his sorrows.  Siddharth looked macho and smashing. Ashutosh Rana was impressive as mentor of David. Shefali Shah as wife of Gary and mother of David was inspiring.

Direction: This being a remake made the work a bit easier for Karan Malhotra in the sense that the plot did not go astray and he had to concentrate only on the screenplay. With an experienced and powerful cast he exploited their full potential and managed to bring you a refurbished product worth your time and money. He took time to unfold the suspense as to why the brothers were at loggerheads which kept the audience rooted. The editing was pretty exceptional with flashback scenes nicely interwoven.  The songs and lyrics added great value and brought about the much needed emotional touch.

Intended Message: Self-Control, patience and forgiveness are virtues that are blessed. An irresponsible attitude and an unforgiving heart is where the devil resides, causing relationships to deteriorate resulting in people being poles apart. A simple “Sorry” can instantly mend relationships and communication can overcome barriers. Just being a father or husband is not enough to gain respect of your children unless they see you acting responsibly.

Conclusion: This big banner product of Fox International, Lionsgate and Dharma Productions is an emotional action drama with interesting storyline modified especially for the Indian audience. The movie is serious and leaves no room for amusement so please be aware as one may find some scenes slow and boring. There are couple of let downs such as the commentators of the tournament who sounded silly or the sole unwanted glamour song ‘Mera Naam Mary Hai’ with unimpressive choreography. A

lso, Mumbai Street fighters qualifying in the tournament along with famed and trained international mixed martial arts fighters seemed unconvincing. However, the movie is reasonably paced without any time wasters or irritating slow motions. Training of the lead fighters is crisp and contained only in a song.  The action choreography was impressive as there were no close up or shaky camera techniques used in the bouts. ‘Brothers’ is worth a watch as I felt there is a lesson to learn for each one of us and it depends who you view yourself in the characters.

Brothers is a SIDDHARTH  MALHOTRA and   AKSHAY KUMAR movie. Its a dharma production movie directed by Karan Malhotra.

The movie is about two brothers who were each others best friend in childhood, each others support but as they were growing big, they started hating each other because of some reason. This hatred turned out in a fight in the ring.

They learnt martial arts just to fight against their BROTHERS.  Its all about violence, blood and fighting between Brothers. I hate violence but the star cast and the movie script is really attracting me to watch the movie. I am eagerly waiting for fourteenth August 2015 as to watch the movie premiere. I expect the movie to be a block buster. Even the songs of this movie are good enough. I feel this movie is like Mahabharata in which two brothers fight against each other. I wish all the best to BROTHERS 2015,

Yesterday I saw the trailer of the movie'Brothers'. It's an upcoming action-drama movie and remake of the Hollywood movie'Warrior'. It stars Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles along with Jackie Shroff in supporting role. The movie is releasing on 14th August, 2015.

Seeing the trailer seems the movie is going to be a blockbuster and Akshay Kumar is rocking now a days with back to back hits. Story is about a war between brothers and in a grand way.Two brothers, David and Monty Fernandez, turn against each other and the love gets marked with hatred, a hatred so strong that they are ready to forsake everything in order to win, to kill each other. That’s what the trailer portrays – what happens when Blood turns against Blood.
