When I thought of watching "Always Kabhi Kabhi" I was there for a very light entertainment without any expectations.

I was taken aback by a surprise. The story started brilliantly. This is a story of a bunch of 12th standard friends who are misunderstood or not understood by their parents and who want to live their own dreams. They fight and finally at the end succeed to convince them.

The new comers are awsome.Ali Fazal as Sameer Khanna and Zoa Morani as Nandini are brilliant.Lilette Dubey as Ms. Das is as sexy as ever.

The plot  is not bad, although not new after watching'3 Idots' and'Faltu'.

This can be named as a better version of the movie'Faltu'.

Had the end of this movie been slightly different then this could have been my nominee for the best initiative by new comers.

I am finishing my dose of Chetan Bhagat Novels these days, as I reached the final pages of 'the'2 states.' I just had the overdose of him, thanks to the repeating drama and events, forget about characters. When I visit 'Always Kabhi Kabhi' I reinstated my belief, you read of something and nature will get it for you. Always Kabhi Kabhi is the lighter and more inefficient version of Chetan Bhagat novels. Oh no, it will be a crime to say so, where the movie is said to be made from a drama by the director which first played in 1999. So, the ghost author hunting of books on me continues.

To begin with, 'Always Kabhi Kabhi' is a disaster. It has some merit in individual departments, say Casting is good, songs and choreography are ok, there are twists and turns here and there, there are glamour thrown at places, there are youthfulness in it etc. Then, all of this doesn't make a cinema. A viewer who spends their hard earned money expects some kind of entertainment in the cinema hall but they get insulted by the way the film moves on. The writers and director continuously challenge the patience of the audience where it falls far below than an average TV soap.

There are 4 leading characters in the movie, say 2 pairs. The first pair is Romeo and Juliet, literally, where the aim of them to get the role of Romeo and Juliet onstage. The Juliet only had to sign few contracts to enter into the fashion industry but she is so fond of school mate Romeo, you know! Mr Romeo is all naughty and get expelled from class, get caught by narcotic cell and now they ask ransom from the school boy, to release him from the case. The hero and to win the first prize in the drama competition is a must for him. Mr Einstein is all on top of class and is a sure shot MIT candidate. Ms Nevermind is Mr Einstein's girlfriend who weeps cry and complains for lack of attention from mother. One day they took a 'panga' in the laboratory and you know what Ms Nevermind hacks Mr Einstein and his MIT dreams (I am yet to get that she exactly did). Mr Einstein was testing the law of 'graffiti' and everybody else thought otherwise. And the story continues for some time more.

Writing is the first and final culprit of the movie. It lacks an average screen play; forget about a solid screen play which is a must for any teeny romantic flick to catch up with. The characters and situations are not introduced rightly. In all love stories, the best part is days love buds but the writers it seems forget that episode. When Ms Nevermind doubts a pregnancy, (thanks to Mr Einstein), one may wonder - when did they kiss each other to begin with. The joke about Mr. Einstein's suicide bubble was ineffective. The way Mr. Romeo gets his drug puffs is forced and proceedings afterwards will spoil your brain cells singly and jointly. Less developed characters, situations, logic and conclusion, the film is a best example of what a screenplay should not be. And what you expect out of a film made out of it?

The saving grace is the screen presence of the cast. Giselle Monteire looks cute and she did the doll role without much effort. Ali fazal did an ok job but without a challenging character how an actor can prove one's talent? Satyajeet Dubey is cool and had the screen play was better this chap would have scored a few points easily. Zoa Morani (is she the Pepsi ad girl?) did her role convincingly and in my opinion she is the best talent from the group.

Cinematography of the movie is good.

Music and choreography is good but the extra dose of it spoiled the curry.

Overall, the film disappoints big time, which includes the climax which put the final nail on the coffin.
