Very important message delivered
Jan 10, 2019 09:49 AM 355 Views

I had recently watched the 2.0 movie. The movie begins with the death of an unknown person who hanged himself from a cellphone tower. Then suddenly mysterious events start happening and all the cell phones start flying away as if like birds. The movie incorporates future tech, AI, robotics along with paranormal phenomena. Investigating the matter, Dr. Vaseegaran(Rajnikanth), finds out the origin of disturbance and finds that there is a paranormal force that is causing the problems. The force is killing all the well known and influential people dealing with the telecom industry from mobile vendors to telecom tycoons to the minister of telecommunication. The said paranormal aura belongs to Pakshi Rajan who is an ornithologist who had hanged himself earlier in the film. When he was alive he had requested the government to act against the increase of frequency by the telecom companies which in-turn affected the birds which he was researching as it would distort their natural functioning by affecting their internal magnetic detection for migration and the birds would die. Dr. Vaseegaran gets permission from the Home minister to rebuild Chitti so as to fight against this negative aura.

The movie has a very predictable plot but a very important message which has been a norm in Akshay Kumar starrers. The detail used in Akshay Kumar's Pakshi Rajan look is amazing along with the graphics in the action scene. Decent acting by Ranikanth with his starpower working well for the film. The music by A.R. Rahman is as usual outstanding and good direction by Shankar. I personally feel that it was Akshay Kumar who managed to redeem the movie, which was going to look like a reboot of the original Robot movie. He captivated the audiences with his acting, as the both the alive Pakshi and the Negative Aura, to bring out the love for birds of the character to the hearts of the audiences

2.0 RAJNI SIR DRAMA
Jan 05, 2019 11:41 AM 497 Views

I would really want to say that this movies has a very serious topic which represented by the Director in well manner, Akshay sir roll was very powerfull, though I am not like akshay very much, becuase of his acting, I think he is merely an action hero, thats why such a powerfull roll did get presented in that way.

The movie was totally paisa vasool and its because of RAJNI sir, specially after interval when reloaded 2.0, I think before interval its just creation of base for reloading, akshay sir can be better like his comedy movie Hera Pheri.

Rest of the character specially herion Ami done well But villain rol was not effective and very limited as compare to First movie

Last Thing, Music Of Rahman sir was not as per expectation

Hello guys,

The movie 2.0 is a sci-fi based movie where a very good message is given about how to preserve birds.

As we are noticing that how birds are being diminishing day by day by human bad habits. To secure birds some help of robots is being taken and good message is being given.

2.0 is the most expensive movie of indian cinema grossing near to Rs.520cr .

Star cast of the movies are superstar rajnikant, akshay kumar, amy jackson are in lead roles.

Rajnikant as "chitti the robot"in the movie is doing marvelous job.

Akshay kumar is playing as negative role in this movie as "pakshi rajan"who become evil and start harming public as they use mobile alot due to which birds are being harmed as they get diverted mis behave and all.

The movie is superb and you must watch it with family and friends too.loved it the way indian cinema used CGI technology for graphics.

Must see.the movie

Movie Story:An ornithologist who commits suicide returns as fifth force to wreack vengeance on mankind for harming birds with mobile phone radiation. the only thing that is standing in his way is 2.0 the upgraded version of chitti, the robot/ 2.0 movie review: Like the title suggests, Shankar's latest venture is quite literally the 2.0 version of his earlier film Robot. the film revolves around the familiar theme of a wronged individual taking revenge on the people who ruined his life - and shankar gives us a film that has a blend of sci-fi, horror and a whole lot of special effects.

Dec 31, 2018 07:04 PM 475 Views (via Mobile)

2.0 was promised as a semi sequel to 2010’s Endhiran (Robot). It’s good to see that it’s not just a spiritual sequel as it was marketed as but a direct and proper sequel. It just discards Robot’s very last scene set in 2030.

2.0’s plot line / premise is totally irrelevant to its real genius. The film is a technical marvel right from the very first scene with copious use of 3D to make the audience feel like the film is projecting somewhere between the screen and the viewer’s eyes.

The main character in this film is of course Chitti the Robot. He is treated like a superhero here. His entry is matter of fact and now he can pretty much do anything with the only real challenge to Chitti being the rapid way his battery seems to keep discharging. Infact Chitti has no emotional challenges in the film at all. He doesn’t have to give up anything major or improve himself in anyway. His 2.0 avatar (the films title character) is just him with the red chip from the last film. The films plot and message is lost in Chitti 2.0's robot antics.

Direction :

The film is made by S.Shankar, one of India’s most innovative filmmakers. This time around, he has kept the film very tight and has not used any of the typical south overacting, humor or songs. In fact this is the most NON masala film Shankar has ever made. This is all in the pursuit of making this film truly international in look and feel.

Having said that, the film is a bit one note and the intensity doesn’t jump up or down, its evenly quite intense throughout. This lack of highs and lows can be an issue with the audience who wants to see a complete entertainer. SS Rajamouli avoided this same issue in 2012’s Eega (Makkhi).

Acting :

With time Rajnikanth is getting more and more tepid in his acting. This film had a lot more for his scientist character to do, who is an intellectual and doesn’t have any of the typical Rajni traits. That’s not to say his acting is bad, its just gotten a lot more sober and serious. Even the 2.0 chitti who is almost a villain character refrains from truly going overboard. He is always at the edge of madness and never crosses it.

Akshay Kumar is really good in this film. He totally does justice to his casting in the film and in his backstory he plays an ornithologist (someone working on birds) modelled on india’s most well known person in this profession ‘Salim ali’ who is a Padma bhusan winner. His acting both as an ornithologist and as a villain is on point. He is menacing as the birdman character and sympathetic in his backstory. He keeps up with Rajni Sir’s acting and performance so that the clash is between equals.

Amy Jackson’s turn as a humanoid Robot is perfect casting. Amy’s acting is extremely wooden normally, so now that she is playing a robot, she seems adequately robotic. Her character has in place asimov’s 3 laws and therefore she is not a killer robot like Chitti. So she has a supporting role of protecting Rajni’s scientist character and at times even Chitti. So she isn’t there just for eye candy. But speaking of eye candy, Amy looks really good running around in a form fitted robot suit.

The visual FX :

People on youtube and twitter have both appreciated and made fun of the VFX of this film. Some have said it looks worse than a ps2 video game. This is not true at all. I felt that in 3d the VFX of the film looked very good. There are numerous scenes which have 1000s of cell phones doing impossible things and its animated so well. I have not seen such an idea or execution of such proportions in a Indian or International film till date. The villain is made up of cell phones and that god damn difficult to achieve. Every part of him is an individual mobile phone. The phone is rigid and cannot bend, so I can imagine how difficult animating this must have been.

Rating :

This movie could have been a nine for me, but it messes up some key moments. So for Rajni sir's and akshay's acting, the action and awesome vfx and innovative ideas, this movie is an easy 7.5/10 for me

2.0 - A Visual Spectacle!
Dec 30, 2018 11:23 AM 423 Views (via Mobile)

2.0 is like magic unfolding on the silver screen for it is a visual feast for the eyes and thought provoking for the mind. Beware, the VFX extravaganza in the 3D format will sweep you off your feet, or should I say- off your seats. If you step into the shoes of Shankar, you will realize that he has actually made this film for the global audience. While Rajni, as Chitti, will for sure win many hearts with his superhero portrayal , it is Akshay, as Pakshirajan, who will soon join the league of Thanos, Green Goblin , The Abomination and the like and be cherished for his role. Style, in the form of Rajni, meets Substance, in the form of Akki.Though there are glimpses of Anniyan (Aparichit) & Shivaji here and there, Shankar has updated himself to Shankar 2.0 as the central theme around which the film revolves is very relevant to modern times. If you are a die hard fan of Amy Jackson, you better watch "I" as 2.0 demanded a subtle portrayal of Amy and she was adorable as a robot. Barring logic ( but who cares when one is getting a slice of the cake in the form of VFX) and dubbing which could have been better, this film is a spectacle and will mark a paradigm shift in Indian cinema.

Verdict: A must watch. Marvel, look out!

This movie is good before lunch but its not good after lunch. This movie is not better than first Robot movies. There is a massage in this movie. Which is above the birds. Birds are dying of mobile web beams. And I think it's right. save the birds.

The superhero which Bollywood desperately needed
Dec 27, 2018 04:40 PM 1116 Views (via Android App)

This is the sequal of robot which starred rajnikanth and aishwarya rai bachan which was released in 2008 and was loved by all and was a huge blockbuster

2.0 is the second part of robot and in this sequel there is no Aishwarya rai bachan but there is Akshay kumar who is known as khiladi of Bollywood. Akshay kumar played the role of a villain in this movie. He is actually not evil as he was a person who was against radiation emitted by technology that destroyed the existence of birds and later whos spirit haunts everyone who uses mobile

PLOT

There is no such thing as plot in this movie. The director had no interest in writing a good story

Cinematography

The screeplay was just too good. Youll never find any indian movie is this good with cinematography

VFX

The vfx was mind bobbling. Bollywood has never experienced this kind of vfx before. It surely will be remembered for years to come for its vfx

Verict

All in all its good movie and defenetly worth watching once.

If you watched Rajnikanth's Enthiran ( 2010) and liked what you saw, you might be a tad disappointed with the sequel. There's a lot of metal clanging and fist-punching here as well, but with half the spark in the first one. For starters, it is not an entirely fresh concept, and you know you're going to enter a world where robots are somehow going to save the world. Chitti who was banned in the last movie and was relegated to the museum is resurrected once again in 2.0, and join hands with Prof. Vaseegaran in waging a war against an evil force that is all set to ruin the balance and life force of this modern-day world ( read: annihilation of cellphones) . The premise is well-thought out, and in a time where love stories are the quickest way to grab audience attention, it is commendable that an effort has been made in this direction. There is jaw-dropping VFX to establish the actual premise ( i.e. horrors of cellphone addiction) and keep you spellbound at a stretch, both in the first half and post-interval. There is humor, and the chance to see the superstar in two diametrically opposite shades - as the subdued, somber Vaseegaran and as the witty, cocky Chitti. There is Amy Jackson, miraculously falling in love with Chitti, so that's some robot love there as well. And of course, there is Akshay Kumar's Angry Bird avatar that will blow your socks off. But these are just not enough to keep you hooked. You will like them in bits and spurts, yes, but you will roll your eyes at the inane writing, consistent lack of logic and a carelessness with using scientific terms, inadvertently insulting the audience's intelligence. At one point, it even feels like those biology lessons from way back in school. Crib factor - There is TOO MUCH METAL thudding and clanging, too many mobile towers and buildings getting destroyed, and just too much happening in the action sequences ( and these are one too many) , for you to follow the trajectory of the film and ultimately derive sense out of. Going mild on Chitti's superpowers may have been the smart thing to do, but well it seems the director did not want to leave even one war element out of the minefield - ultimately, making a khichdi out of it. Then there is the length - what could have been shown in 2 hours, takes an extra 30 minutes of head space for you to process, and even then, what remains is the taste of a lot of uncomfortable metal in your mouth. The last sequence will be an overdose of VFX and action-packed together, but this is also what helps the movie raise a benchmark other super hero may have to outdo, to amount to anything. This is where you feel the actual force of Rajnikanth's larger-than-life persona and realize why he leaves so many of us in admiration. There is exceptional imagination ( albeit, silly and sans logic, thereby puncturing the actual essence of the fight) as the two stars - Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar fight it out in an epic style. The sheer scale of this climax will surely stay in your mind. All in all, no marks for the writing and points deducted for the weak character graphs as well. Both Rajnikanth and Akshay have actually delivered their best in the film, but a weak script can puncture the best of performances. Which is why this is a movie you should watch only if you don't know what desi superhero flicks CAN look like, or if you're a Rajni fan or if you want to see for yourself what cellphone obsession is doing to your brain - just maybe ALL of them.

The first half of the movie is good. But there are many repetition of scene. The eagle of cellphones is very tremendous. The message given by the movie is inspirational. We must reduce the number of hours to use the cellphones. In the second half of the movie Chhitti rocks. The fight between chhitti and Akshay Kumar is I feel funny.

A great entertainer.
Dec 26, 2018 12:55 PM 431 Views (via Android App)

It's a sure ENTERTAINER! . The 1st half was a little boring, but it really took off from the 2nd part, Akshay Kumar's performance was amazing. Rajinikanth has just nailed it. He is great as Chitti, It was a little over the top, he could've been a little subtle, but nevertheless enjoyable!

VFX was mind-blowing, best in Indian cinema till now! but a little inconsistent in some parts, 3D effects were really good, one of the best 3D experiences.

Everyone should watch this movie atleast for the sheer fun and entertainment it offers throughout the runtime.

Another thing is that some people are criticizing it for the movie being illogical, but trust me, I'm doing my computer science engineering, and the logic was good enough to take in. But, I watched the movie not for it's science, but for grandeur and fun the movie offers! Conclusion: S.Shankar is really creative with the VFX and offers some interesting visual treats! But only if he could've been a little more creative with the story, it could be the best movie of Indian cinema. At the end, it's a must watch. You wouldn't want to miss the fun.

Good movie
Dec 26, 2018 03:57 AM 659 Views (via Android App)

Irector Shankar's films follow a certain template. We are introduced to a normal guy who takes on a larger-than-life villain in a mission to end some form of negativity. Basically, the usual good vs evil template is set against different backgrounds and they are given an out-and-out commercial-film treatment.

His latest outing 2.0 is no exception. It follows a similar path. Dr Vaseegaran ( Rajinikanth) is a  scientist who encounters the fifth force  with his inventions Chitti, Nila ( Amy Jackson) and 2.0 ( Chitti reloaded robots) .

All of Chennai is in grave danger as a mysterious looking crow is destroying the city. As expected, Chitti is brought back to take on the giant bird made out of mobile phones. However, Chitti alone is unable to save the people. In come  2.0 robots, with their quick wit and destruction power to take on Pakshi Raja alias Crow Man ( Akshay Kumar) .

Shankar's films are always grand in nature and they are laden with social messages for the society. In 2.0, it is about how humans misuse technology and make the world unfit for other living beings.

2.0 is a film that should be watched for its sheer scale and grandeur. It has a predictable storyline that might come across as a disappointment for many.

Even though the  visual effects are on par with international standards, the story takes a beating towards the climax.

The sci-fi film is interesting in parts and does stay relevant despite the gap in between the beginning of its filming and its release date ( 2.0 began in 2015) . Be it Nithyananda's dialogues or the use of several punch lines, 2.0 entertains the audience. And most of these are mouthed by robot Nila, which gives it a nice twist.

2.0 does not have anything new to offer given that the  entire plot was given away in the trailer  itself. There were no real surprises in the film and it comes as a huge letdown. The surprises that were kept under wraps found their way to the internet a few days before the film could hit the theatres. Again,   blame it on technology, much like the film.

To see Rajinikanth in multiple avatars is in itself a treat for his fans. He has delivered a neat performance as Dr Vaseegaran, Chitti and 2.0. One has to admit that he looks plastic as 2.0 in a few places. Rajinikanth is convincing as the scientist Vaseegaran and Chitti, but it is in his 2.0 robot roles that he goes over the top with his expressions at times.

Akshay Kumar as an ornithologist is a little slow with actions, but he aptly conveys what he needs to with his expressions.  Amy Jackson slips into her role  as Nila, especially since the character does not require much emoting.

2.0 moves in its own pace and the makers'decision to actually stay away from the songs is a welcome change. While Rajinikanth doesn't get any heroic incoming sequence, Akshay Kumar's character does and the buildup to it looks interesting.

There is a flashback portion to ornithologist professor Pakshi Raja on why he became what he became. The entire portion was well shot, and is ably backed by Akshay Kumar's performance.

The climax, that runs for over 20 minutes, is the talking point of the film. With  incredible CGI effects  and brilliantly choreographed stunt sequences, it is just a visual spectacle unfolding on screen.

Shankar's little touches here and there in the film address much-needed topics such as politics, corruption and ecological imbalance. 2.0 goes overboard in a few places and becomes more of a science and history session than a commercial film so to say.

For example, in a scene, Pakshi Raja explains how humans, birds and animals have to coexist to live a peaceful life. Though it is a much-need message, it could have been explained in an intriguing manner rather than the pedantic treatment it gets.

As the movie is of great superstar rajnikanth , I went to watch it the day it released . If you love to see fighting and illogical action than movie will make you happy otherwise I dont like much the movie as the work of rajnikanth is no doubt tremendous but the movie is so kiddish and illogical sometimes that cant be appreciated.
