Overview

Bachelor of Pharmacy or B-Pharma is an educational degree offered under the undergraduate rank in India. This requirement is the basic prerequisite for getting a permit to work as a pharmacist. Students who are concerned with pursuing their higher studies in pharmacy have to complete the B.Pharma exam successfully. Students who are seeking admission to this course are required to pass an entrance examination, conducted by different universities. Here are some of the entrance exams you need to appear for in order to study pharmacy.

BHU PAT

BHU PAT is an all-India competitive examination conducted by the Banaras Hindu University every year. The exam is usually conducted during the month of July at the Varanasi, Kolkata, Delhi, and Hyderabad centers.

To appear for the examination, candidates must be between the age of 17-25. In addition, they should have passed their 10+2-board examination or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, English, Biology, and Chemistry.

The deadline for submitting the completed application form is usually the month of May every year and entrance exams are normally conducted during the third week of July. Candidates have 3 hours to finish a four-section paper. Each section includes 50 objective-type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Usually, the results are declared during the third week of August.

VELS University Entrance Examination

VELS University in Chennai includes different schools that offer a bachelor degree in pharmacy. Students who want to pursue their education in Pharmacy have to appear for an entrance test conducted by this university. The exam is conducted both, online and offline.

To appear for the examination, candidates need to pass their 10+2 board examination or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% of marks in Physics, English, Biology, and Chemistry.

The deadline for submitting the completed application form is usually the end of April every year and the entrance exam is conducted during the month of May. Candidates are allotted 3 hours to finish a four-section paper. Each section includes 50 objective-type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Usually, the results are announced during the month of June.

MT CET-Pharmacy

MT CET-Pharmacy refers to the Maharashtra B.Pharma Common Entrance Test, which is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education of the State of Maharashtra every year. The deadline for submitting the completed application form is usually the end of March every year and the entrance exam is conducted during the month of May. The results are announced during the month of June.

To appear for the entrance exam, candidates should pass their 10+2 board examination or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% of marks in Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. There is no age restriction to appear for this examination.

The exam is conducted across different centers in Maharashtra. There are three papers that have 50 multiple-choice questions from Physics and chemistry for 50+50 marks. Paper-I consists of 50 multiple-choice questions from Botany and Zoology for 50+50 marks, Paper-III includes 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics for 100 marks.

After the candidate has passed the examination, he will be called in for counseling.

CET

CET refers to the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The admissions to the B.Pharm program in the schools affiliated with this university are mostly through common entrance tests held by the University.

To appear for the examination, candidates should be between 17-25 years of age. In addition, they should have passed their10+2 board examination or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% of marks in Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.

The entrance exam is conducted with 150 objective-type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Botany. The duration of the examination is 150 minutes and there is negative marking for wrong answers.

B.Sc Pharma Entrance Exam Hissar

Some universities offer B.Sc degrees in Pharmacy for qualified candidates. These universities also conduct entrance exams for the course and their admission procedures are strictly based on the scores obtained by the students in the entrance test.

The Guru Jambheshwar University in Haryana State conducts an entrance exam for admission to the B.Sc Pharma course every year. Candidates appearing for this exam should have passed their 10+2 board examination or an equivalent examination with a good educational record in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. This entrance exam for B.Sc Pharma consists of three parts, Part-I includes questions from Physics, Part II from chemistry and Part III includes questions from Botany and Zoology. This is three years, full-time course.
