Bug in MS Gift Message?

Looks like there's a bug in MS... While writing gift messages (messages you write while sending gift) you dont see any limitation in number of words/characters, but when it lands in receipent's gift box, only first few words of the message are visible and there's no provision to see rest of the message.

Either MS should show entire message or should alert the member while typing gift message that it shouldn't exceed 10 words or so...

Else I type a long message but receipient sees only first few words without knowing I've sent a longer message. Refer image below, Shriram had sent a long message along with the gift but I could see only first few words. Couldn't understand how to read rest of the message (because it ended with an incomplete sentence I felt there's supposed to be some more text) and had to ask him by M2M to send rest of the message....

Is it a bug? or Am I wrong somewhere?

P.S: if you doubt what I am saying, send me a gift and test :)
