Don't get misled by false comparisions
Jul 29, 2012 05:27 PM 65634 Views

I took Indica vista quadrajet in march this year i.e March 2012. we have one more car maruti suzuki swift in our family. We usually buy Maruti or hyundai cars and I was supposed to buy Ritz but suddenly I saw a comparsion of tata quadrajet with maruti swift , In which tata claimed better car than swift and 70000 rs saving .I fell in this misleading trap of tata motors. Now I will tell about defects of this car which are

1) Low mileage : Vista gives an average of 11-12 in city while swift gives 14 -15 in city

2) vista steering is very hard due to hydraulic power steering while swift is very soft because of electronic power steering

3) gear box , clutch brake everything is hard in vista while all the things are soft in swift.

So I came to conclusion that tata cars are the worst cars in India. So never buy a tata car.

This is a value for money product
Jul 20, 2012 12:11 PM 57052 Views

Truly a value for money product. BEWARE: VISTA IS SURE NOT A MANZA CLASS in comfort.

Second Best Worldclass Diesel Engine (FIAT-Build in S.A). Strong selling point is, cheap (overall)-Price, Quality, Service, Dealership, Ride Quality).

Check List:

  1. Ride the car, feel the front suspension. Front suspension is hopeless in 1000 Kms, already feeling like condemned suspension.

  2. Tires should be Bridgestone for smooth ride, else you can feel the road.

  3. Check Doors lock in one shot, requires two-three times hard slapping.

  4. Hard Power Steering, can be improved after first service.

  5. Breaking, not that good, even in MANZA.

  6. Lubricants- Replace MOBIL Synthetic Oil, instead of CASTROL or other kind. CASTROL makes more noise to engine. You wont enjoy the noice in such a car. But, Using CASTROL improves milege.Your choice.

  7. No Milege calculator, Like MANZA, we need to calculate conventional way.

  8. GO ABS, do see money, it is worth using  ABS for TATA CARS, considering efficiency of brakes.

  9. Head Lights are better than Manza.

  10. Press-Clutch and start car, this is a new feature in INDICA VISTA Quadrajet.

  11. MUltijet is more advanced than Quadrajet,

  12. No locks in dashboard like Manza.

  13. My Final recommendation:PLEASE GO FOR MANZA if you can invest 1.5 lack more.

15.Morotized rear view side mirrors, with little vibration, the mirrol falls down, . Even they tell you when you take the car.

16.If you want to buy VISTA, please call me 72000 13450 and hear my experience.

  1. ABS sensors have issues in some cars, cannot be rectified.

  2. Always go for extended warrenty. God knows when some parts will fail.

I TRULY REGRET SELLING MY MANZA Quadrajet, Year 2010 model. (30, 000kms) Compared to VISTA, MANZA is like riding TOYOTO CORALLA. Go for MANZA ABS, alloy wheel is not a must..your choice. MANZA is also value for money. less regrets.

Rule the segment It created
Jul 08, 2012 08:02 PM 57445 Views

Purchased Indica Vista VX from HIM Motors, Peeragarhi, New Delhi on 11/05/2012.

After driving all the Diesel hatches, I finally decided to go for VISTA. Lovely Car. Very well priced.

I bought my first Car, Indica V2 DLS in the year 2001. I sold it after 6 years and more than 1, 20, 000 KMs. It was probably the first car in its segment and may be, created it. The Car was good and should have been more successful, had TATA motors ( TELCO then ) bothered a bit about its servicing aspect.

Only a few people know that after the sucess of INDICA V2, Maruti launched Zen Diesel and Esteem Diesel. Both flopped. INDICA V2 was the best with the engine options available then. Swift's sales zoomed after they introduced FIAT"s engines.

You can go to any WEBSITE and open reviews, blogs, e.t.c for INDICA VISTA, SWIFT, FIGO, RITZ, PUNTO. Almost every one is abusing TATA"s servicing aspect. This is probably the only aspect where others score massively over TATA Motors.

VISTA  is a very good car but all the goodies of this product are likely to be overshadowed negatively by servicing.

Worst service and incompetent technical service
Jun 25, 2012 11:02 PM 29605 Views

The only good thing about the car is the interior space and the fuel economy . The car as such is a good car but in the hands of totally confused incompetent technical service team . I purchased Vista from Concorde Motors on Mysore road and in the course of these 3 years and after many service experiences I have concluded that the only thing assured when you give the car for service/repairs is that very shortly you will take it back to the service station for improper servicing.

Car in hands of the service team can be compared to a coconut in hands of a dog... they have no idea of how to deal with it . They will never give you the right advice and I really doubt if they really change the oil and the time of servicing.

Good servicing is a must if a car needs to succeed and definitely concorde motors has a long way to go.

The Sedan Class is First Class
Jun 22, 2012 11:37 PM 60363 Views

This is all about my experience with the Sedan class - Vista Quadrajet. I live in Chennai and was using Hyundai Accent GLS petrol before with which I was more than happy. Due to family requirements, I left it to my father; Thus wanting a new car for personal use. Having spoiled by Accent due to its great power and comfy feel, my expectations are always high. I was selfish enough to have a sedan or its equivalent in a 6 lakhs bracket. I initially thought of adding one more Accent to my parking lot somehow I heard from the sales that the car is almost in the verge of extinction. Leaving accent apart, I felt the petrol variants of i-series, the 10's and 20's were not even close to Accent with rRajeev_Vermact to power; they had all other features though.

The same story continued with the petrol variants of other auto makers in the specified budget. None stood close to my expectations. I later decided to look at the diesel cars, as they have better power, resale value, cheaper fuel prices and most important thing: fitting within my budget curve. After lot of research, I infered that the internationally acclaimed FIAT's 1.3 Diesel motor has the punch of a sedan in terms of power and performance and there is no compromise at all with this portable jet engine. I started listing down the cars that possess this power mill - The Swift, Ritz, Punto and the last but not the least TATA Vista.I drove the great Swift 2011 edition and Ritz. Both were very good to drive however the former missed in space and waiting period, the later failed in looks and comfort.

While Punto offered the best build quality, comfort and handling, it was less responsive in city. I found that the punto wasn't meant for city driving conditions and has a very bad service. Not only the weight but also from cost standpoint, punto is the heaviest of all in the list. Leaving all options, I concluded with the all new TATA Vista - Sedan Class. I myself, an employee of TATA Motors during early 2005s and know the level of quality and standards. Somehow my heart said to give a try. I visited Concord Motors - Velachery with a ton of hesitations, but the customtakeouter handling was incredibly good and the product was surprisingly superb. I was very much particular about the Quadrajet variant, as it owns Fiat's turbo heart. The car has good looks, great power, huge space, excellent mileage and ton of features in 6 lakhs range. Without wasting much time I bought this car - Cavern grey shade. I'm done with 2500 kms till now.

Power and Handling:

Vista Quadrajet has the best in class power in hatchback segment. Not to mention about the super refined Fiat's turbo mill. It's fast and furious. Vista has evident turbo lag, which is the only downside I see in the power delivery department but the phenomenon exists more or less with most of the turbo diesel cars. This is forgivable when the rpm needle touches 1.8 k rpm - The turbo kicks-in. A sudden power surge experienced beyond this point reminds me that this is not an ordinary hatchback. The acceleration is super steady till redline. During my road trip, With no effort the car reaches 3 digit speeds. This wasn't found in petrol cars due to the absence of torqy characteristics. I would say the Fiat 1.3L turbo engine is the best and advanced diesel engine available in present day market. Handling of the car is very nice too. Zipping through traffic comes subconciously.

Performance:

Vista Quadrajet is always known for good Mileage. Believe it or not, the mileage on my road trip was 23 kmpl @ 80 kmph during majority of my journey. I often touched 3 digits and returned to normal time to time but still the mileage wasn't compromised. The car returns an average of 17+ kmpl in city with Full AC. Huge saving is done.

Suspension:

Vista comes with a robust suspension system which can tolerate all abuses on our indian roads. It is the car for Indian market. The notable thing is that vista can easily pass through any types of pot holes and bumps. The suspension does its best in city limits, while on highways there comes the coffin. Due to a softer suspension setting and relatively higher ground clearance, the car rolls dangerously during highspeed cornering. My old accent could do a hard curve even at 130+ KMPH with no fuss, but vista fails to give me that confidence. May be this is all can be expected from hatchback cars? May be not...VW Polo, Fiat Punto and Swift can defy this.

Comfort:

The car comes with a huge cabin which can accomodate five people easily. If you are looking for a family car, this is the one for you. The legroom is adequate and spacious unlike swift. As mentioned rightly, The space parameters are similar to that of a sedan class. Well done TATA. No other hatchbacks has such space for its price. The AC is highly effective. Chills in a matter of seconds even in peak chennai summer.

Quality:

Far better than Indica. The refreshed version has better quality compared to its predessor, however there is still many miles to go. Rusting problems, Mis-alignment, Defects, fit and finish issues are always expected.

After Sales and Service:

Everytime when you leave the car at Authorised TATA service, remember that you are leaving the car at a junk yard. I experienced third rate service at Concord Motors, Injambakkam (Chennai). The technicians are found to be inefficient, perhaps trainees. The service center is like a government office, there will be a customer lounge but AC's will be switched off due to maintenance work all time. No body will ever bother your time and make you wait for many hours to open a simple service card. Service incharge don't have reasoning power, as they work mechanchandru021y like a machine. In my experience, The first free service took four days to resolve simple complaints such as headlamp focus adjustments, engine oil replacement, etc with three recurrent visits after service.

In fact, buying a TATA Vehicle will make you a frequent vistor to TATA MOTORS service station to keep their service personnel busy...LOL. A true survey shared by one their service personnel says that about 6 out of 10 cars serviced cars comes back to the yard second time for a re-fix, hence never expect your problem to get resolved at the first go. The lesson learnt was never buy a TATA vehicle unless you know a trusted mechanic working in TATA Service or elsewhere, otherwise You may have to practice a ton of patience in dealing with them.

Verdict:

TATA Vista QJT is a decent family car with sedan class comfort. The power punch is astonishing with best fuel efficiency in its class. The car can address both city and highway requirements without compromise in fuel efficiency. The car is cheaper in price compared to any other diesel cars with similar specification. My VX variant is almost fully loaded for 6.7 Lacs on road. It comes with ABS, Super refined Fiat turbo mill, All power windows, Keyless entry, Tubeless radials, Inbuilt audio with Bluetooth support and many more features. The Quadrajet variant can challenge any sedan on highways and hatch backs in city driving. The only downside in this car is the minor niggles and poor after sales and service, which is very much disgusting, it improves our patience though. Overall i'm a happy customer since day one. TATA is really putting efforts to make this super-hit machine into a mega-hit machine. May be one day, TATAs will compete Honda's in quality and Service department. Fingers crossed.

Missed out on delivering
Jun 17, 2012 12:51 PM 15639 Views

When I decided to buy another diesel car, I went for a detailed comparison of all available products in a budget of Rs 6.5 Lack. After a research and a soft corner for Indian car company I decided to buy Indica Vista fitted with Fiat Quadrajet Engine. I was really happy with the car initially and felt like getting the best deal. But soon I started realizing its just a substandard car unable to deliver what it promises on paper. Worst part is its GearBox which was a problem the day I bought the car. Addition to this pain was dealer(Raghuvanshi Motors Delhi) experience with 'I Don't Care' attitude.

Additionally, I started loosing my cool when after paying thrice for alignment, I realized there is a manufacturing defect with three oh the good year tyres. this took a painful 3 months to resolve. today after 2.5 years of Indica's experience I can clearly say Tata Motor need to go a long way before it can make a car with comparable comfort of any international car.

I seriously dont recommend Tata cars personally. On papers it may look great but its a bad car warped in good packaging.

Bye bye Tata
Jun 07, 2012 11:27 PM 12583 Views

I bought tata indica vista quadra aura in 2009, i liked its looks, its acceleration, space inside and also it was very good in terms of fuel economy.but as time progressed i started experiencing the quality tata service.at the time of first service i took my car to raghuvanshi motors, delhi, the rogues (service advisors) persuaded me to get engine coating done as it will increase the life (? I dont know how) and they told me that every new owner get it done, so it costed me about 2000 rs. They returned car in 2hrs. Every thing was fine at that time but even before finishing 10000km mark car's ac started having problem. I was not able to shift it to recirculation mode and i started feeling smell and dust in car even with ac on. I took it to same dealer and they asked me that dashboard is needed to open to check the vents of ac, promised me to return car with in 48 hrs but returned it after 3 days, reason cited was unavailability to mechanic of ac. The problem was temporarily resolved but after some time it again developed same problem and also they didn't fit dashboard properly so a bad noise developed in it every time i would drive car. I complained to service advisor but he asked me to leave car again for 2 days which was not possible.

After about 5000 kms, suddenly AC stopped to cool and a whistling sound developed in it, i took it to same service center and they told gas has leaked and ac need service, it costed me 2500 and the repair lasted only 5 mths again i was told some pipe of ac got broken and it need to be replaced with gas they gave estimate of 8000 rs saying that gas is very costly. Also the service advisor promised me to give warranty of 6 month on part replaced but ac again got problem with in 40 days I took it to service center they didn't even attended me and then i complained to customer care by mail.

After 3 days, a lady called from service center and she asked me to bring car and she said that they didn't gave warranty of cooling and again the estimate was 6400. I refused to get it done at their center and get it repaired at some local shop in 3000 rs. When you buy this car the dealer promise you about good service, after each service tata person calls you about quality of service, but once you complain about any thing they do nothing to resolve it.

Tata people just want to complete formality of customer care, they even don't understand any problem of customer.at service station they extract 3000-8000 rs saying some part need to be replaced or some part has broke. Because of all these experiences i have decided that i will never buy any car from tata.

MY TATA Vista VX Car
Apr 10, 2012 12:01 AM 15615 Views

This is my first review on a car. I previously owned a second hand Maruti Wagon R before switching to TATA vista. Reason why I swtiched to a TATA car only God knows. But how ever I am not regretting the decision because end of the I have good car which is very good.

I work in an automobile company..Lot of people who had bad inhibition about the car were silenced when I gave them a test drvie. They have given good opinion about the car.

Bad Sales and Service Network: Bought the Car from TAFE had bad experience in terms of price hyke not informed to me after 10 days, etc.

Then my car got damaged while my delivery and during 1st service. Thanks to the Service guy Tamizh in TAFE greams road. Ensured that the defects where attended properly.

W.r.t Service front there is striking difference between TATA and Maruti.. which I think TATA need to start understanding. Now TATA has car in all segment need to align there service setup according to the customer type.

Now straignt to pros and cons.

Pros

Good look. They have definitely improved the look of the car with chromium finish. Go for VX as it has lot of feature which will make it feel like Sedan (for the incremental cost between the next lower end)..

Tall boy type. The model is tall boy type unlike Swift or Figo. With height adjustment seat we feel like small SUV. Good for old people.

Heavy Car - for the likers of heaviness

Good Seat: I would say best seats compared to Swift or Figo. Ergonomically designed. Will not make you tired even after long drive.

Internal Space: Huge Space incl leg space in front and rear.

High Ground Clearance: Good on bumby roads. Good shock absorber

Mileage: Trying to find answer. I am assuming my car will give a mileage of 20 KM in highway and 15 in city. Currently it gives me a milage of 13 in city. Need to check in Highway ( 3000 Kms driven)

Easy Gear shift and Majic third gear: Gear Shift are freindly can accomdate lower speeds. Third gear can take 20 Km speed which is majic

Improved Clutch and Accelarator: They are not very hard but no very soft either.

Gear shift : It is ok.

Power is good: Power is good after accelaration but Turbo lag seen during gear shift ( Esp Quick shifts)

Price: Good pricing for the features.

Cons:

Lot of bind spots in the design - esp if a vehicle angles across from the right side (Driver side). You will have no clue that vehicle is coming which is risky.

Front view is bit cramped. I compare it with Wagon R. I feel like bending a bit to see outside.

Central console. Not comfortable

Mileage - I will keep this portion blank currently

Turbo lag- Turbo lag seen compared to Figo and Swift. during quick gear shift.

Heavier vehicle - Has any impact on mileage I dont know

low boot space;:

TATA logo - I felt T A T A was cuter than TATA.. I dont know y again it was changed to TATA.

Sales & Service: Very bad , Poor product knowledge. Poor treatment of customers.

Things I like to know:

1) How to improve the mileage

2) At what RPM I must drive to attain best mileage

3) What speed for what gear

4) What must be my tyre pressure.

I am not getting satisfactory answer from Service people too. So can this forum help

Awesome Tata Vista!!!
Apr 09, 2012 05:52 PM 11076 Views

Tata Vista is one of the very few cars with all the features. Goes swiftly through the traffic in the cities and is the roaring tiger on the highway.

Very fuel efficient and has the highest ground clearance in its class. I have been driving it since the last few months and if possible I'm gonna buy the same car again. Very reliable and totally fuel efficient.

Thanks Tata for making this car. Super Sedan.

Reliable car to own, but needs service improvement
Mar 07, 2012 09:39 AM 12070 Views

I have owned this car for the past 3+ years and have just crossed 50, 000 kms driving close to about

I believe dealers of most car's have issues as most of them do not deliver the car on time. This was my problem, hence the dealer ratings are low

Looks, well, you will get used to it once you own a car for 3 years. So I have no issues with the looks.

45, 000 kms only within Bangalore. Driving this car gives me good driving pleasure. and personally feel more comfortable driving this than swift [friend owns one, old model -> Not sure about the new swift].

The mileage of my vista diesel is 15.1 km/litre with A/C, for which I am very happy.

It is very comfortable for 5 mid-size people. The ground clearance is pretty neat. Initial pickup is ideal for city use and not for drags.

Engine is super smooth

Interiors, however, have cheap plastic -> NOT GOOD at all

But the bigger problem is that its branded TATA: very poor service. Till now I have never been happy with the first service, invariably I have to got rectify the problems even after the service. This is very irritating in TATA and its the total opposite in Maruti [service is easily 100 times better than TATA]

If you know some one who can service tata cars well, then its the best to buy, else I personally recommend buying Maruti. But if you have a good chuck of money buy Toyota.

I bought Indica Vista Quadrajet in September 2010,  MH 04 EH 8372 , Till Date I have had no problems with any aspect of this car, I have had a run of 28, 000 Km so far. The Space inside the car is fabulous and the fuel economy of the car is also very good.. I have completed all the free services as well as did one paid service for this car.

While the finishing could have been better still I am satisfied with the car. I would recommend this car.

Family Car for long drive
Feb 17, 2012 12:26 PM 12777 Views

Exterior Looks good that Maruti Swift but doors are needed to be improved. One has to shut the door twice to see it is shut properly.

Interior(Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious and comfortable, good leg room.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine makes noise but tolerable. Fuel economy is poor. It gives 15-16 kmpl without AC in City. With AC in city, mileage drops to 12 kmpl.

On Highway it gives 20 kmpl with AC.

The Car engine stops automatically in the middle of the road. That's really embarrassing. I have to start the engine once again.

AC was working good till yesterday. But now, one of the ventilators of AC is not at all working.

Ride Quality & Handling Riding is smooth, gear handling is not smooth.

Final Words Better but not the best Indian Made

Areas of improvement Doors are needed to be improved. One has to shut the door twice to see it is shut properly. Fuel economy must be improved.

St.antony's motors lack professionalism
Feb 03, 2012 01:12 PM 12169 Views

Since St.Antony’s motors was the tata car dealer nearby I decided to buy an indica vista vx model through them in Dec 2011.They promised me a corporate discount and free accessories while booking.

Within 3 weeks after booking the rate was hiked twice (blame it on tata they say I agree), but the corporate discount was also taken off last min. stating unconvincing reasons (here too they blame tata).

The car was delivered on time( 7 pm) but without registration ! The worst part was the car hardly had 1 litre diesel in it for me to drive home. They were supposed to deliver the car after registration and that's why a late evening delivery time is normally given. It did not happen here and I was asked to present the car to rto for checking the next day again.

Seat covers were also promised as a free accessory but did not give it. So I was first asked to check after a week’s time and then during first service and now they say that they will inform once seat cover is available. The sales person/team who promised me the free accessory had cleverly passed the buck by this time and told me to follow up directly with delivery division. The sales team doesn't show professionalism or any leadership qualities in solving problems.

A poor experience!

Car is really sedan class, service second class
Jan 23, 2012 10:02 PM 13199 Views

I am one of the first few proud owners of this car in Chennai (Dec 2008). This car is very reliable. nice pickup, I done 30000 km so far without any single on road problem but back door started corrosion at pointsat fixed intervals.

This is surely a manufacturing defect but neither tata or its sibling Concorde hears me. They are asking (Concorde) 25000 rupees for the same. After taking vehicle for repair, holding it for days, using it for 30 kms but this is very good car. I like this car, recommend this car.

A Very good diesel car- real value for money
Jan 18, 2012 03:47 PM 15831 Views

I exchanged my 5 year old Indica V2 turbo diesel for a Indica Vista Quadrajet Aqua- Drivetech 4 version in March 2011.

I use the car predominantly for city driving, in thick, bumper to bumper Bangalore traffic . I am not an avid automobile expert like many others who write reviews on mouthshut, however, after almost 10 months of usage, I can swear that this is one of the best cars in the country today, for anyone, who is looking at a diesel car priced between 5- 6 lac rupees.

Initially, I wanted to go for a Maruti swift diesel, looking at its popularity, however, a VDI version is almost a lakh of rupees costlier than the Vista although both have the same fiat engine. Moreover, when I did enquire with a few Maruti dealers in Bangalore, I was told that the waiting period(in Feb last year) was around 3-4 months. which is crazy. I approached Concorde motors, Bangalore & their executive ensured that I could get the car within 2 weeks of my booking. However, I now understand that the new Vista quadrajet has a waiting period of about 2 months in Bangalore.

You will be surprised that I have not visited the Concorde motors showroom on Hosur road even once during my purchase. Right from test drive to paper work & exchange of my old car(for which I got a good deal), Concorde's Sales Manager ensured that everything was comfortably & seamlessly done at my door step. now this is some quality service.

I get my car serviced at Aadya Motors near Nagavara, since I live nearby & I find their service very good & reliable. I have not had any major problems till now, except that there was a coolant leakage once. The workshop replaced the coolant tank free of cost since the vehicle is under warranty.

Overall, I am very happy with the performance of this car . I am satisfied about making the right choice & also that I could save almost a Lakh of rupees.

I have been on many long drives too. its a pleasure to drive on highways. Lastly, I did a mileage check recently & in thick Bangalore traffic, I could get a mileage of 16 kms to a litre of diesel. I did this check again for consistency.

To sum up, I can confidently submit that I am a proud owner of this car. People may have aversion to a TATA product but my experience has been a pleasant one.

Self start gone bad
Dec 19, 2011 03:33 PM 12845 Views

I bought a vista 6 months ago.I have been a tata car user for over a decade. I bought the old indica dls. Then a indica xeta. After that indigo after that indica vista. The things I found lacking in vista were. Ground clearance. Too low compared to other tata cars I have driven. I bent the distributor shaft going over a brick. The self start off the car broke down in three months something which has not happened to me ever in any car which proves bad electronics.on top of that the brakes.

Although for cities they are okay but on highway, you cant risk the car above 120. I don't have a problem with mileage as its a diesel but still it could do better with a little more effort from tata.

Dec 05, 2011 05:56 AM 14189 Views

I bought Indica vista quadrajet in mar 2011 from prerana motors, labagh road, bangalore for Rs 5.4 lakhs..!! It's my first car.. I was planning to buy TATA Safari, but before investing 10 lakhs on it I thought to strengthen my confidence by buy a TATA product. till date,  I have driven it for 9000 kms @ 40 Kms per day..!!

Mileage: I feel it is giving quite close to 16Kmpl Without AC.

Biggest turn on is the space and comfort..!!.. It is far better than any other car of the segment..!!

Engine noise is pretty low and pick and power seen to be excellent..!!.. The car reaches 80Kmph in no tym in 4 gear..!!.. Gearbox is smooth and seems to optimally designed for the city driving conditions. The handling is quite smooth but the clutch is a bit hard.. My service counsellor at Prerana Notorrs, Peenya told dat the issue is common to all Fiat & TATA cars with similar configuration. right now m having ceratain issues with noise from front suspension and heating up of the plastic panel near the foot pedal. I need to get it sorted out.

The issue with the car is the plastic & rubber quality used by TATA. bt then I dont mind as long as I'm not stuck with the performance..!!

I completed my 2nd service. Just paid Rs 300 all total for both services. M now due for third service.

Overall the car can be rated at 8 out of 10. I love my car. I recommend it for the middle class and salaried class people. Now I think I can go ahead for TATA safari without any second thought next year keeping in view the confidence I have gained on prodcuts by TATA Motors.

Things that attract attention about Vista are some of the following things that it offers in it's segment and at a price that no other car offers:

  1. Excellent space inside: I'm 5"11 and can sit comfortably in rear seat with my legs stretched - this matters on long drives.

  2. Powerful engine: @ 1398 CC turbo, it easily leaves behind most of the crowd

  3. Plush interiors & features like bluetooth interface: It's not best what you can get, it's probably best in what you get at that price.

  4. Sturdy vehicle yet easy handling: I have driven atleast 6 cars for long duration and I must say that this is probabaly most sturdy yet very responsive machine Tata has produced; I'm not sure why some of our friends don't agree.

Things I didn't like are:

  1. Sales & dealership: Why Tata showrooms are so pathetic? Has anyone seen Concorde Motors in Boisar & Balaji cars @ Thane? It looks like old godown full of inexperienced and unresponsive people. Leave alone looks of showroom, it's unresponsiveness of Tata which had me for a month. After ordering the car and making full payment they didn't deliver it for 2 weeks after promised date without any explaination. Things were so bad at times that they didn't even respond to calls. After delivery, it wasn't great still, accessories, toolkit(even my spare key) are still missing 6 weeks after delivery. Can this get worse?

  2. Lack of useful features: A car with bluetooth integration but no trip meter & keyless boot opening? Yes - that's Tata. Scope for improvement here. Also plastic quality inside the car is not great as yet, it just passes.

All in all a great vehicle to buy ONLY IF you can get hold of good dealer. And stay away from Concorde motors(Boisar) and Balaji cars(Thane).
