Tata Indica Vista GLS Safire65 Reviews

Bangalore India
Do not buy the Vista Safire.
Jun 23, 2011 11:21 AM 9065 Views

I'd like to start with the braking problemis I'm experiencing. The Safire models are defective cars. It's because of bad legal infrastructure in this country that Tata can getaway with such nonsense. The dealers are also useless. I simply cannot think of buying another TATA vehicle again. I've have learned an expensive lesson.

When the vehicle is at slow speeds with the AC on, my heart has skipped quite a few beats trying to get it to stop. The brakes get jammed and doesnt function properly. The dealers have been quite unresponsive. They bleed the brakes each time and give the car back. The  problem repeats on the same day itself. I've also registered complaints at the tata website but to no avail. I've considered this my fate and am moving on.

I was proud to own the TATA brand when I bought it. I'm quite taken aback now and am trying to figure out if it was only the price that made me buy this piece of junk. I should have bought a SWIFT after paying 50, 000 Rs more. Believe me, it's worth it.

The car has a 1.2 litre engine rated at 65 psi. I was OK with a little less power and assumed that it would give me better mileage. Again, I was proved wrong. I've never got more than 11kms/litre under any driving condition.

The space and comfort is fine but I've got multiple parts in my glove box that keeps coming off inside the car. I spend time every few weekends trying to figure out where these parts came from and trying to fix it so that it doesnt come off again. Quite a shoddy fit and finish job.

And the dealers are plain liars and conmen. I would'nt even give them the 1 star that I gave above.

That's it for me and this company. TATA.

The worst car ever made!!!!!!!!!!!
Jun 17, 2011 12:09 AM 9331 Views

I just want to make sure that nobody repeats the mistake I committed. By buying Vista and trusting Vista. Only good thing about the car is the price. May be a few bucks cheaper but dont get trapped into this Marketing technique.

TATA was/is/and always should be uses as a TAXI only. They sell crap.

Let me start the points of Criticism :-

1)TATA

2)Cheap quality of interiors.

3)Worst A/C in a car ever made. Trips of every time.

4)The usual sounds 'Khachad-Khachad' experienced in INDICA

5)Pathetic After Sale Service.

6)Zero Reliabilty

7)Worst Shape(Dnt knw y my Dad liked it)

Planning to sell after 2 yrs and 20000 kms.

And buying i20 diesel................

I request all of u looking to spend ur precious money on a car- "DONT EVER EVER BUY ANY TATA CAR"

Crossed 39000 Kms YET, MINIMUM 25Kmpl (Highways)
Jun 14, 2011 06:10 AM 13302 Views

Bought the car TATA INDICA VISTA Terra TDi during end of May 2010. I learned driving my car when it was 22K during November 2010. From then on till date I’m the happiest person to have this car.

Difference between TDi and Quadrajet:

The difference between TDi and Quadrajet is that the later has Fiat engine like Maruthi Swift has. But it costs you at least 90K more and offers you better pick up and along with good A/C performance. Except this everything is same as TDi.

Performance:

The top speed I reached was 158 Kmph. It seems that TATA has locked it to this speed. I always drive the vehicle between 80-90Kmph on highways so as to have good fuel efficiency. I felt that if you cross 100Kmph the FE will fall may be 22Kmpl and if you still exceed say 130Kmph it may fall even more may be 15-16Kmpl. So better not to exceed 90Kmpl acc. to my experience.

Stability:

Nowadays everywhere you find accidents on highways and one interesting fact is that vehicles driven at abnormal speeds lacking stability are always at high risk. I always maintain tyre pressure as 37 Front 33 Rear. Recently I've asked a guy from road side wee shop to check my tyre pressure and asked him to set them with my recommended tyre pressures 37/33 and started to my native and it was heavy rain and its already late so I was almost flying on airspeed. Because of smog at some points I could barely see the hairpin bends. But at every hair pin bend even though I suddenly turned the steering at 100kmph ASA I see the curve the vehicle didn’t lose its stability but at one place the brakes misbehaved strangely on straight road at 120Kmph and stopped after pulling a bit more than normal. 3 days later, during my routine tyre pressure check at a fuel station I was shocked to find the tyre pressure as 40 Front 50 Rare. So, some points to ponder here is I've already crossed 38000Kms and the tyres are almost worn out yet to be changed at 40K and the tyre pressure is very abnormal 40/50 with heavy bad rain added on the top. Sustaining all these bad conditions still the vehicle managed its stability and braking too. What can one expect more out a vehicle which is worth of Rs: 460000/- offering a FE of 25Kmpl on highways at least 18Kmpl in city, GOOD stability, Best leg room when compared with same class of vehicles like Swift, i20, Ford Figo etc?

Even at high speeds of around 130-140Kmph the vehicle doesn't not wobble.

Maintenance and Service charges:

The bad thing with Diesel vehicles is that it should be used in every 2-3 days else Non-usage spoils the engine.

My last service charge with Mr. Manjunath, Kanishka Motors, Bommanahalli which includes all standard things like oil change, Wheel alignment, etc with TYRE puncture+ cleaning the carburetor since it crossed 35000Kms(some tech term used by my service point guy which I can’t recall) costed me Rs: 2700/- Jus just imagine how cheap is the maintenance when compared with other cars. This service station is highly recommended, very friendly too. Ask them what every you like wrt your car they are ready to do it for you. Mr. Manjunath is the contact person there.

Cons:

1.    The Front bumper is all fiber and every time I go in any deep ditches, the bumper lock brakes and protrudes out which looks like displaying its broken tooth. So, a permanent solution for it was made by Kanishka motors where they made a hole on the surface and fixed it permanently. I cannot even notice that till they told me that a minute hole was made on it. Thanks a ton for avoiding that disgusting bumper action.

2.    A/C is not that good but can’t even say bad too. Just fine.

3.    At the start lags a bit but outperforms later.

4.    Rarely fuel gauge shows no sign even though the tank is full but later after some time behaves normally.

5.    Has same Cargo volume of 232 liters similar to Maruthi Swift which is NOT sufficient for a small family of 3 people.

Pros:

1.    EXCELLENT/OUTSTANDING Mileage.

2.    VERY good leg room NO OTHER CLASS OF VEHICLES has such a good leg room.

3.    GOOD Stability and braking at high speeds.

Tips for best FE:   *

1. **Do not switch A/C as soon as you start the vehicle. Run at least a Km and turn it on.

2.  Do not turn the A/C on and off very often within 5 mins it damages the compressor

3.  Use right gear at right speeds

4.  Maintain Tyre pressure according to the road you travel ie city / highway as you quite often use brakes while in city.

Interesting Thing:

One interesting thing I found was I even Own an iPhone which has an app called "SKYGAUGES" which calculates the speed we travel. When the speedometer in the vehicle shows 70 Kmph the app shows only 65 Kmph and on researching I found that as a precautionary measure govt. has purposely directed the manufacturers to display 5kmph more than normal so as to avoid accidents. For people travelling to new places iPhone's google maps are a real boon acc. to me and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I use them all the time when I roam around in Bangalore/Hyderabad/Chennai. Wait for my review on iPhone using AIRTELand AIRCEL Networks soon. Will tell you some things most of them dont know.

Finally, Look wise front face of Tata Indica Vista looks like a BIG car build but the back boot doesn’t seem to be attractive rather seems like a cheap taxi cab. Better Tata considers remodeling the Boot/ hatch back. Most people keep away from  this vehicle because of its bad exterior esp. bad hatch back. This opinion of mine was from most of my friends but who knows what it has inside? It is something like don't judge a book by its cover. If someone from TATA is reading this review I could suggest them to improve the quality of the interiors and remodeling the hatch back.

Ye Car to Badhiya he yaar..
Jun 07, 2011 12:15 PM 9057 Views

Yes!."Ye car to badhiya he yaar".this is what I heard from a bystander a few meters from my home today morning when I was leaving for office. And that gave me a good reason to smile for the day.

I am a first time car owner and maybe not that experienced as so many friends who have written their reviews and helped in deciding to go for a particular model.

I did a lot of research on Zigwheels, carwale, mouthshut etc. and then finally decided to go for the Indica Vista Quadrajet ABS taking into consideration the features available with the cost involved. One of my relatives owns a Tata Indigo Manza Petrol and I had liked the feel of the car. And then I said that TATA cars are not really bad as experienced by many.

Lets talk about the car now.

The car is very good compared to the earlier generation Indica. Thanks to the Quadrajet engine and the complete new platform of the Vista. I had purchased the car on 4th April 2011 and have driven more than 3800Kms. including highways and city as well. I have touched to 140KM/hr on the Mumbai-Pune expressway and the feel is excellent. The car doesn't vibrate nor do you feel any effects of the diesel engine inside the car. The handling and brakes are excellent. The power steering is extremely good. The Odometer has lots of information on the panel.

I get fuel economy of 13 per litre in city and goes to 16-17 on highways with AC on full time.

The AC works extremely well. I am very happy that I selected the sound system option and it is reallly excellent. The USB, bluetooth works absolutely fine. The speaker sound quality is also good.

The legroom at the front and rear is excellent. The seat comfort is good. The interior is good and the plastic parts are not as bad as reviewed by other users. Maybe Tata has improved on the quality.

The dealer I purchased was Galaxy Motors, Mulund and the sales guy was a good support in carrying out the overall procedure. They are having their own service centre and the facility their is extremely good. I have had my first service done within 3 weeks and the service centre support was good.

Overall the experience so far has been good and I hope that it continues.

Any suggestions for the review or in taking care of the car are welcomed.

Thanks.

Deepak.

Worst spare and service centre
May 28, 2011 12:52 AM 7580 Views

I have  bought indica vista aqua quadrajet since last year ago, but I got surprised that about spare , worst ac and arrogant customer care and local service center. I have facing a great trouble regarding ac. my car is under warranty but  they dont care anybody , no response, so I am going to sell this worst car.

The local area manager, local staff and customer care cetner are really spoiling the reputation of tata. I swear that I will never buy any product of tata in my whole life. a lots of people are facing too many problems regarding spare and service. we are three friends and all have tata indica vista aqua quadrajet, and  we all three person are selling our cars and more then 10 persons have changed their decision to buy this car and any product of tata in our circle.

My customer care complaint no is 1- 12541101293.i would like to thanks to tata motors that give us a great lesson that we should not purchase tata car in future.

Ideal for city driving, high on comfort
May 24, 2011 02:45 PM 11385 Views

This is my 2nd review of a Tata Car. On both occasions I have owned the cars and driven for a considerable amount of time. My Indica Vista Safire 65, was bought in Nov 2009, Porcelain White and top end model Aura. The first 2 weeks went in accepting the under powered engine and pick up as comapred to my earlier Indica Xeta 1.4 L petrol Engine. The overall drievability of the car due to a drop in the engine size, power and the torque is experienced immediately. I drove a Xeta for more than 3 years and for more than 50K kms.

The overall fit & finish is way ahead as compared to old tata indica and even on some counts beats Wagon R, Figo, i10. The cabin is very spacious, lots of head room and a big wind shield gives a very airy feeling. There is a blind spot on the right & left while driving which cannot be avoided due to the structure of the door frame.

The features like built in Blaunpunkt stereo, power windows, tilt steering, lumbar support (not very effective), height adjustable seats really give you a sense of well being and enhances the quality of ride. The driving posture is far superior however, the pedal positions are a bit awkward and for long drives and during the bumper to bumper traffic, gives enough pain in the ankles and in your thighs. Not recommended for long drives. I recently did a 600 kms drive in one day, I took a day off next day from driving and went by a cab next day to office.

The dual parabola lamps and fog lamps are very good. The focus and illumination is perfect. I dont know if it is just my problem or generally a Vista's problem, but my right hand side high beam bulb has conked off 4 times in the last 18 months. I had got it checked with Tata Service, but they could not find an issue. They said no other car has had this issue.

The suspension is fantastic. I have done about 21 K kms so far and the suspension is still amazing. Mumbai & Pune roads are not known for quality, but Vista does a good job in eating up the pot holes although it makes a little bit of 'thud' sound. The rear pasenger comfort is like a dream. Ample leg room, comfortable angle of the rear seat, big enough seating bench and adjustable head rests. All in all, would be good to sit behind and enjoy the long distance drive. The brakes are the weakest link. They are horrible. Inmy earlier Xeta, I could cruise @ 140 and still be sure that the brakes would work. With Vista @110 kmph, I am scared if the brakes would work when I need them. They are really weak. best is you drive the car under 100 kmph. It is not only safe but also gives you a better mileage.

There is virtually no engine noise inside the cabin and even outside. If a Vista Safire goes by next to you, you wont even notice it. It is super silent. However, when you are revving a bit Rajeev_Vermacially in the ghat sections, you will not only feel the engine's under power, but also some noise @ 3500 rpm. But it is ok. It is not a deal breaker.

Finally our Indian question: What is the mileage? Honestly...it gives about

In City : 10kmpl with AC bumper to bumper, 12 kmpl without AC

On highway AC @ 80 kmph: 16 kmpl, 18.7 kmpl without AC...go beyond 80 and your mileage drops badly

Verdict:

Go for it if : You are not a spirited driver, but want a chill drive, comfortable ride

Dont go for it if: You like to speed, race, want a lot of mileage

hope this review helps.

Never buy this product
May 09, 2011 10:45 PM 9743 Views

Well, this is in contradiction to what I had written after buying this car a year ago.

I bought this car from concorde motors bangalore. From the day I bought this car, I am having lots lots of issues. These are not small issues, it has already put me and my family nightmares.

I have been doing numerous complains regarding my car.  I have some harrowing situations using this so called Vista.

  1. Within a week, the tyre got burst in midst of night in a forest. somehow I managed to come home safe after struggling 3 hours in forest with my family.

  2. The speedometer(entire console) was not working.

3.The wiper was not working properly.

  1. The left front door lock was not working properly.

  2. The rear parcel tray was broken.

  3. The AC was not functioning properly. After several complains, it took a year for  the mechanic to tell me that the compressor is having some issue. Now it's replaced.   But haven't got any chance to verify the result.

  4. Now the most scary moment happened. while on way back home, I stopped for a while. When I started again, I couldn't believe. The key was rotating freely in the key hole. I was unable to start. I couldn't understand what to do. I again managed to come out of the situation and the car was towed to my house. Now the mechanic is saying the issue with the key ignition part and need to be replaced. I am waiting for last 7 days for the part to be received.

I am really fed up with this car. I am not finding sufficient words to show my frustration.

I have only a single request. I am very much scared to take this vehicle out now thinking what will happen in mid of road. Instead of replacing one part

and another whenever I put a complain, please take this entire car and give me back my money.

I want to return this vehicle. Any suggestion on how to do it, most welcome.

I was the first few to buy this car when it was launched.I booked this car on the day of launch thats august 2008.I liked the way it looks, when I took the test drive it just rocked me.the fiat multijet engine was pumping like anything which made me go for this car.

Experience half starts now:The first couple of months with car was awesome , the ac was working fine so every part giving me and avg of 15kmpl in Bangalore city with ac, well use Shell diesel for better performance.whenever I used HP, Bp, Ioc the engine responded like st.2010 august I clocked 40, 000kms.since the beginning the seats had major rattling noise, with 4 months the ac switches got conked so as the Ac.

Inspite of the Ac being at maximum speed I used to sweat. Finally had to complain it to  TATA central customer care for some action.they did respond and my dealer concorde motors dairy circle finally rectified my problems. But the Ac problem re-occurred, there was some leakage and it used to drain out the AC gas.well they said they rectified and it occurred again.

The power window switches came out , when asked my service adviser he gave me an awesome ans " sir please dont use the switches too much".i had nothing to say took the keys and got bak home.High way car gave me around 19kmpl.If you can find a good service centre then its fine or else you would hate it.TATA still needs to keep a quality check on its spare parts. At last the gear lever came out, i had replace it and finally sold this st  piece.

The best in its class
Apr 26, 2011 09:39 PM 9364 Views

I am using tata indica vista since 2009 (a diesel version).i am very much happy with its performance .it is the best car in its class . it is also better than many other cars like swift ddis, ford figo and ritz. its looks r also excellent than I 10 .if u r going 2 buy a car in the range of 4 to 6 lacs tata indica vista is best among all.

I am very impressed with its overall performance so I bought another indica vista saffire petrol 90 bhp for my son.

I am satisfied proud owner of this car

12 July 2015 - I am back again to write another round of review. My car touched 50K kms last month. Still running strong. I changed my tyres at 48k. Engine is still refined and better smooth.

Had few proper with power windows as my kids play with that switch often. On highways, I get mileage of 20-24 depending on my driving.

On an average, maintenance costs me between 7000 to 11000 depending on type of oil I choose or extra things I get done.

AC has been fantabulous. However, had to change the AC filter in every service as I use AC most of the time. I felt AC is bit noisy when the car was new, but its less noisy as time pass by.

I broke my rear view glasses and luckily I avoided replacing the entire set. I got cheap replacements in JC road at just Rs 100. Thats Tata. Always room for Jugaad.

-

I bought this car in july 2010 from calicut. I travelled 12000 kms so far. I am v happy customer who would like tor recomment this car.

I shuttle b/w bangalore and my home town in kerala once in a month. Covering 700+ kms in 3 days, the great suspension and smoothness of the engine leaves me tireless after the journey.

The body is not so sturdy.its light and that is12 one reason how this car gives good mileage.

However, I feel that power is not enough when the car is fully loaded and A/C turned on; the pick up seems to dropdown. But this is more to expect for a 1.2 L engine.

To solve this you have to buy Polo or Punto which is way too costly.

Tata kept the cost low by having descent(but not cheap) interior(which I dont complain).

This car is real value for the money you pay.

I dont care about the re-sale value; afterall I am not gonna sell this car for atleast next 5 years.

Over all, I am satisfied customer and proud owner of owning an indian brand.

VALUE 4 MONEY CAR,LOTS OF SPACE,WORLD CLASS ENGINE

I had test driven Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet 2 years back and had loved it back then. Read my previous review at

I changed my Santro with a lot of hesitation. It had served me well. No complaints. I was looking for more space and more power. But decided against petrol due to frequent fuel price hikes, poor mileage and poor low speed torque. I was truly impressed with thecompact 1248CC(1.3lit) Multijet Fiat engine.Weighing at 185Kg it belts out lots of torque (75pounds per square inch @4000RPM) and very very fuel efficient. The engine is claimedto be good till 2, 50, 000kms requiring low maintenance.*

This engine is fitted on Maruti Ritz & Swift(LDI, VDI & Dezire)and is known as DDIS. But Maruti DDIS cars have a minimum waiting period of 3-6 months and have poor rear leg room. Fiat Punto & Linea use a higher90 PS version of this engine. Indigo Manza quadrajet alsouses a 90PS engine;Shortly SX4 diesel will also have the 90PS engine. Quadrajet engine (Tata's name for the multijet) is very environment friendly and surpasses euro 4 emissionstandards. Worldwide sales of this engine has surpassed 4 million indicating it's wide *acceptance.

Ford Figo uses a 4 Cylinder 1399 CC CRDI Engine(69 BHP @ 4000 RPM) not as efficient as the Multijet engine. It has much less head and leg space compared to Vista.

I have been using Vista Quadrajet Terra Drivetech for the past one month and have logged close to 900kms. I can confidently say that no car can beat the space this offers . Interior plastics are of acceptable quality .The legroom and head room for driverand passengerare great. The boot is OK for 2 large suit cases. The rear seat leg room in this hatchback is roomy and better than many sedans. Indica vista has nothing in common withIndica as it is built on a totally different, larger and bigger platform.*

A/C throw is good and pleasant; So is the power steering. Vista offers tubeless tyres as standard fitment. The steering column can be tilted to suit your height & convenience. One large instrument console in the centre of the dashboard gives data on everything fromspeedo, engine Temperature, hand brakes, battery status, turn indicator, seat belts, air bag *etc etc. There are seperate smaller consoles for fuel gauge and tachometer.

Thanks to the superb Quadrajet engine, The car performs like a breeze in stop and go slow metro traffic. You can comfortably move with traffic in 4th gear between 25-30kmph.Overdrive is comfortable beyond 40kmph.The throttle is very responsive with loads ofenthusiastic torque tugging at you.Mileage so far is around 11kmpl;This I am told will *change after 1st service & resetting. Most of my friends are getting around 14-15 in city.

The interiors are well insulated and you will never feel that this is a diesel as there are no Grunts, jerks and noise. Engine response exceeds that of petrol after 60kmph with quick

acceleration due to turbocharging.Tatas have done a superb job with the suspension.small

pot holes & bumps do not matter anymore.

Currently, Tata bears the cost of comprehensive insurance. There is an useful extended warranty for additional two years for Rs5000/ extra.(car has warranty for 2 years).

Tata indica Vista Quadrajet Drivetech is a Good Value For Money proposition, with it's world

class Multijet engine and loads of space.

Worst Car i bought in my life
Mar 31, 2011 05:11 PM 10726 Views

Everything was going my way. I was on the top of the world. Untill I bought Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet(Diesel Variant) some 8 months back. I still remember the lousy day I bought this car at a hafty price of Rs. 5 Lacs. Its just not worth it. I have been cheated by Tata Motors.

There has been a loud Thak-Thak like sounds coming whenever I take a turn. Even after repeted complaints and getting the new car repaired 3 times the problem persists.

Its no wonder that every time Tata plans to manufacture a car it ends up making a Truck. Please Recommend it to all your enemies.

Hopeless car, sheer waste of money.

The most pathetic car..poor performance.
Mar 10, 2011 05:27 PM 9729 Views

I bought Indica Vista in 2010 March..till now I have driven 22000 kms...it has always been a problem with the reliability of this car..during first 6 months it broke down 3 times and in last six months it broke down 2 times.

Always there is a problem with the Alternator of this car but the dealer never agreed to replace it they always repair it and always ask for 2-3 days to repair..its always very embarrassing when u r going with your family on a long route and your car breaks down in between..and you have to leave your vehicle in a city where u dont know anyone for 2-3 days.

Very poor service quality...always a problem with service dealers they never service the vehicle properly. In last 1 year car has always a problem of sound coming from Dashboard but none of the service center people corrected it after multiple complaints...car never crosses 100km\hr even after full acceleration I have been complaining this from last 4 months but no solution to this.... I will suggest everyone not to buy this car..go for any car but not Tata.

say No to Tata Vehicles.

Ultimately settled for Vista Quadrajet
Feb 26, 2011 03:11 PM 9924 Views

Selection criteria

I wanted a vehicle which is safe, City plus occasional highway driving, highway stability, economical to run and maintain, has good build quality and at reasonable price.

Vista and Maza fitted the bill in all respects. Although could have easily afforded Manza, ultimately selected Vista Quadrajet Aqua as Vista is suitable for Pune and Mumbai's congested roads and parking problems.

Maruti vehicles were ruled out as none of the their vehicles including Ritz, A star are as spacious as Vista or Marza. Space to me is to comfortably sit 3 adults at rear seats and legs not touching front seats. The Swift and D sire was ruled out as not good looking according to my perception.

Ford figo was also tried but somehow it did not appeal to me from any angle. In test driven vehicles the shock absobers felt too soft. I20, Polo, Fabia etc. were ruled out because of price. Normally most foreign companies are least bothered about fuel economy and issues faced by third world countries.

D Day: Yesterday took the delivery of vehicle. It took 10 days for complete process at on road price of 5.26 lakhs at Pune. (Free insurance by company). Driven about 70km. My brother who is expert in driving has appreciated the driving quality. I earlier owned Maruti 800 and felt much secured and comfortable in vista now. Pick up very good with absolutely no vibrations.

Negatives experiences: There was no BS4 sticker on the vehicles, however it is confirmed from Road worthiness certificate that it is BS 4 compliant. All Nano cars have this sticker. Probably they must have forgot to put it.

The build quality is solid however it is still 'unnis bees' ( A typical term for products which are slighly imperfect).

Inside:  I did not find any issue with with plastic quality.

Engine: The main tilting factor towards this vehicle is its 75PS FGT diesel engine.

It is world famous Fiat diesel engine. Fiat has sold over 4 million such engines world wide.

Manza, Ritz, swift, Dsire diesel, SX4 diesel all have this engine however in Manza and SX4 units it is with VGT and hence 90PS.

Update after 2000 Km

Nothing special to mention except the  city mileage is 12 knpl and highway 20 kmpl with ac on. First servicing is nothing except tightening suspension and washing the car from outside.

Vibrations noticed intitialy in plastic parts near instrument cluster but now receded.

There is too much revving in 1st gear. Vehicle is silent in 4th gear and fun to drive.

Update after 3000 Km

Nothing special except a second thought that I should have gone for Manza or Punto.

Everytime we go out for shopping the storage space is not sufficient in Vista and I am thinking of putting Carrier on roof.

I could have taken Punto which is more advanced at almost same price.

Update after 5000 Km

After second service I asked for application of Wurth underbody coating. The coating is like used oil and does not dry easily. Useless spend of Rs 2500.

The engine is making more noise now a days. Even after 5000 km they will not change oil. It is scheduled for 10K. Which is ridiculous according to me.

After 2 years and last free service

The last free service was very expensive and had to take AMC. The city mileage is only 11 Kmpl.

Not satisfied with gear ratio and shifting.

Tata Indica Vista 90
Feb 14, 2011 04:57 PM 10666 Views

My endless research over the internet and frequent visits to automobiles showrooms for a brand new car has finally come to an end. I am now the proud new owner of the all new TATA INDICA VISTA 90, an upgraded version of Tata Indica Vista. This new product features the quadrajet engine that produces 90 hp of peak power and 116 Nm of peak torque offering a rider a smooth ride.

Style: The best feature is the 8- spoke alloy wheels. The vendor told me that the Vista 90 is the only variant in the 90 hp to have this feature. I think this will provide an up market field to the product. But my favorite features are the interiors which have a dual tone design comprising of ebony black and vanilla beige. In terms of spacing, there is adequate head and leg space which provide the comfort factor to the buyer.

The modern and the stylish look of the car come with a hint of European design quality.Engine:The saffire 90 is the advanced version of Saffire 60. The mileage is 14-15 km/l which is pretty gooddestroying the otherwise notion that the performance and power reduces the mileage of the car. At thesame time one can enjoy a smooth drive which is otherwise nearly impossible on the bumpy roads filledwith potholes.

The most powerful petrol hatch in its class, the VISTA 90 can go from 0 to 60kmph in just5.4 seconds and I am really thankful to Tata Motors for this as it is a great help when I am running latefor work!Features:Indica Vista 90 comes with 2 Din music system with a USB connectivity which allows me to browsethrough the playlist and select the music of my choice.

A tilt adjustable steering wheel, height adjustabledriver seat, 60:40 foldable seats and remote keyless entry are some of the other features in the newVISTA 90.Variants and Colors:Indica Vista Saffire 90 will be available in four variants – terra, aqua, Aura (with ABS) and Aura+. Thecolor selection is provided from the shades of afterglow, cavern grey, arctic white, porcelain whiteand the two new colors-sporty red and brilliant blue.

I bought the red aura + which is quite catchy andsporty.I am quite happy with my selection. A Fully loaded car with safety features like airbag and anti lockingsystem, TATA INDICA VISTA 90 is a family car with the seating capacity of 5 persons. With its affordableprice and latest features this car is especially designed for growing middle class India.

Quadrajet Aura+ other than performance

This is not a performance review, and its after more than four months of owning a Tata Indica Aura+. The space inside is fantastic even the space behind the rear seat appears less but accommodates a lot of stuff. The adjustments provided in the driver seat are great.

The drawer under the co driver seat is of tremendous utility. HVAC is outstanding. Have never felt the need to go beyond second fan speed both for Hot and Cold for starting and is always on the lowest fan speed most of the time. By the way the fan speed has been at the request of rear seat occupants always. The power socket at two places is a thoughtful addition. The engine oil costs close to Rs 1000 per litre, nothing else will do for Quadrajet. The blue tooth connectivity is such a great help that one has to experience it to believe it especially in heavy traffic. Yes the TATA problems are there with this car too.

One of Front fog lamps and one side indicator got filled with water after a few washes only. But the service centre was quick to replace both. There was some sound from right front wheel but the issue was taken care by the service centre. Mind you I have not bought the car from the dealer who owns the service centre. But that does not make my car a step child for them. All you have to do it point it out and they are willing to go all out to rectify it. Each visit to service centre is logged with the company and an independent feedback taken by Tata Motors, Pune.

The OEM horn does not match the look and power of this car. One misses a lamp in the boot. I am extremely happy with my car. Would recommend extended warranty for everyone who goes for this car coz everything is High Tech and will burn a hole in pocket if anything goes bad.

Aura+ Performance
Jan 29, 2011 12:44 PM 11593 Views

Hi people I am writing this performance review after the 5000km service of my car and first fuel top up thereafter. I picked my Indica Vista Aura+ on 13 Oct 10. I Am close to 6000km of running. I work out kpl from fuel tank top up to top up using the trip meter. After intial one month the vehicle started giving me a kpl of 14 – 15 with AC on in city traffic of N Delhi.

Now it is giving me 16 – 17 kpl with AC, coz I use the HVAC in winter. Have taken it with ease to 140kph with family sitting, till a stern warning with matching intensity glare from you know who made me come down closer to sanity. There was still pep left and the engine and the car had good grip of the road and good feel on the wheel. The power steering is good, though might appear slightly hard to Hyundai drivers. The engine responds very well to even slightest of pressure on the accelerator in all gears. Extremely helpful in those short fast burst required at times in the city to avoid bullying of DTC busses.

The speed range of the gears is wide and assists in the above case. The key to good average I have found is keeping the engine RPM around 1600 to 1700 rpm. At this let me add it touches 75kph in 5th gear. Have taken it out on a highway but cannot comment on the average there right now. However, the handling is extremely good. Have experienced excellent braking performance both at high speed and low. ABS actually lets us handle the turns and occasional zig zag of overtaking very well at all speeds.

The engine leaves you exhilarated with responsiveness even if for overtaking the veh has to climb from 100kph to 120kph on highways.Kinldy read Quadrajet Aura+ Other than Performance under Indica Vista, for the rest of the stuff.
