After saving money for 3 years, I finally bought this car.German cars always will remain classy and there are no other cars that will be able to replace them in terms of comfortability and status. The interior makes you feel like a BOSS and this car attracts lots of glances. I enjoy riding on roads with the E220 model and I hope it will serve me for a long time!

I'd rather call it a S-class . The interiors makes you feel that you are really in a best of it's class of Mercedes . Automatic air conditioning with two climate control zones chills. Central door locking Operated by remote Includes windows. Body colour power door mirrors, heated and light sensitive with integrated indicator lights, body colour power door mirrors heated with integrated indicator lights. Front and rear electric windows with one-touch on two windows. Powersteering with electric speed proportional with variable rack. Alloy& leather multi-function steering wheel with tilt adjustment and telescopic adjustment feels great. The rear seating which is 37° tilt adjustable to recline is the key feature ok the E220d.

Purchased this Vehicle in August 2016 and have driven around 15, 000 KM till date and mostly on highways. Purchased from Titanium Motors on OMR and the Car was amazing with zero defects on delivery. The car has decent leg room in all the areas and is best when chauffeur driven. Small bumps are not felt @ normal speeds. Overall a very satisfying buying experience. Purchased a 4 year 80000 KM service package for about 175000 approx. This we were told would make Regular servicing almost free of cost. We did not have to aishwaryasingh23 anything for the First year's service at the end of 12 months from delivery.

The dealer is not equipped to either sell or explain this car and has not explained several features on the car. Worst they do not have any idea about the same. For example the sales man had no idea how to use the parking assist and to get over this he told me it does not work under Indian conditions! A friend of ours is able to use this feature without any Problem. The Dealers also take their customers for a ride by inflating the Accident Repair Bills beyond belief. For example we had a very very small Scratch on the front fender for which the dealer said the Bumper assembly needs to be changed and Cost us Rs 1, 75, 000/-

The scratch and the incident was so small that even a NANO would not have lost its fender and for a Robust car like Benz to be damaged extensively is beyond belief. A private work shop had quoted Rs 10, 000/- for the same. There appears to be some kind of a nexus between the Dealer ship and the Insurance companies surveyors.(The dealership explains that the benz has inbuilt safety features which leads to the collapse of the fender?! JOKE)

The highway mileage when chauffeur driven is around 11 KM and when owner driven is 13 KMPL. Top speed we have driven is 160 KMPH and the vehicle was rock steady at these speeds on Indian Roads. There is absolutely no fatigue even after being driven for over 6 - 8 hours continuously.

The Car we purchased came with a Regular spare wheel but the Newer Benz cars are with a Doughnut Spare Wheel. The tyres are a major problem. Our Car was fitted with Michelin and get punctured very frequently on Indian roads. One tyre had its side wall broken on a highway and it was almost impossible to change the spare wheel(under owner driven condition) Moreover the Spare wheel did not have a sensor, leading to a warning light on the cluster that there is a problem with the wheel- very scary on an Indian Highway especially at Night. The newer cars come with a much smaller Spare wheel which is probably acceptable under American and European Conditions as they can run for a max of 80 KM at low speeds, This is ridiculous and a terrible method of cost saving by Benz as it compromises the very reliability of the vehicle. THIS WOULD BE ONE OF THE ONLY REASONS FOR ME NOT TO PURCHASE A BENZ AGAIN.

After quiet One year and eight months with 31000 km drive I come up with pros and cons which are more likely makes it best car

PROS:

-it has bulky body and spacious inside for 5 heavy or 7 slim passenger with trunk boot space around 600 ltrs.

-Merc service and insurance scheme is out standing and as promising even after year. when I had small accident my windshield cracked and it priced 151000 inr but I only paid 30000 inr. service centre teleservice person call and remind for service or new model launch parties for all merc family or owner.

-My car gives around 15kmpl  in city and 18 kmpl on highway in automatic mode.

-it has leather massaging front seats and normal full functional head to legs with respective buttons.it has front and back air condition panel with adjustable temperature has respective.

-it has sensor which if you or other rider get close or apply brake and getting close to you start beep.it also have automatic braking when your not concentrating on road or speeding up getting close other vechicle or person or object itself apply brake.

-Got Eye catching looks with chrome outline whenever pass by everyone stick eyes on it I have brown one which seems rare or grab any once attention.

Cons

-Not much to say got low ground clearance but compare to jaguar xj or xf sport its better.

-You to go through Three hours of class or Tutorial before Taking your new merc out of Showroom due to its hell out bulky features inbuild in it and to understand.

-sometimes in confusion I do press wrong buttons and it stops then I have restart put it in auto mode and drive.

-Best way to drive is in auto mode or go through manual guide to get to know all hidden feature which are plenty.

mine is 2015 but now merc hav done more modification like rear camera few more sensor etc. merc has good resale value specially for e class and higher. merc produce or change it e class models only after every 7 years.so who ever owned e class now can't see same model after 7 year in merc showroom.

First of all its my dream car.Its seating space is comfort.comfort also rates highly in E class, at least for four of the five occupants its equipped to carry.As in many other cars the centre rear occupant has no contend with a large floor hump and sit on minimal seat padding.there is ample leg room front nd rear.The control layout is generally good.as the previous E class models, the latest version also displays top quality finish throughout.

On premium gasoline, the E300’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. That’s not a lot of power these days, but the nine-speed automatic transmission is somewhat able to compensate by keeping the engine in the meat of its powerband. Perhaps wisely, the exhaust sound of the four-cylinder turbo is always muted, even at full throttle. If there’s no sense in calling attention to the engine, there’s also no sense in letting it idle, so the auto stop/start system shuts it down when you come to a stop and does so as aggressively and smoothly as we’ve seen in any carmaker’s implementation of the technology.

We clocked the E300 4MATIC at 6.5 seconds from zero to 60 mph. By comparison, the C300 4MATIC does it in 6.1 seconds. The mid-size E-class tips the scales at 4060 pounds, 415 pounds more than the C-class; it’s no surprise that the smaller car outruns its sibling now that they share an engine. This new version of the E-class is not so quick, but it is slightly larger, both in wheelbase(2.5 inches) and overall length(1.7 inches), which bumps the rear-seat space up to near the class leaders, but it’s still just shorter than the Audi A6. The new E-class also delivers a stellar automated driving experience. Mercedes’ latest iteration of semi-autonomous tech is as useful as that in any new vehicle. The Drive Pilot features come as part of a$10,400 options package that runs to 11 lines on the window sticker—on top of our test car’s$55,575 base price. We won’t list everything included in the Premium 3 package here; it makes more sense just to describe the operation of the system, which uses a stereo camera and front and rear radar to sense the world around it and guide the car.

Leave the Steering to It

As with Tesla’s Autosteer, you can set the cruise control in the E-class and let go of the steering wheel entirely, but only for up to 60 seconds before the car warns you to retake the wheel. Still, this far exceeds the 16 seconds of hands-free time offered by previous Mercedes models. That’s long enough to make it feel as if the car is driving itself, because there’s little reason to keep your hands off the wheel for longer. The system proved remarkably adept at finding the necessary markers to follow the lane, even on poorly maintained rural roads, although it was not perfect. The car was confused by a twisty, hilly stretch of road, requiring the driver to take over at each crest. The E-class also will pass a car in your lane when you activate the turn signal, and it can automatically adjust your cruising speed to be faster or slower when it sees a speed-limit sign. This last function proved to be the killer app of the E-class. The self-driving system was easy to grow accustomed to and hard to give up.

When we turned off the auto-steering system by a push of a dashboard-mounted button, we found the E-class more engaging than we would have thought. On the same roads that flummoxed the computer, the E-class showed that it had plenty of grip.(We measured 0.90 g on our skidpad thanks to its optional staggered-width 18-inch summer performance tires.) Our test car was fitted with optional air springs($1900), which can be adjusted via the drive-mode selector. Even when set to Sport or Sport+, body motions were considerable, especially fore and aft, yet well controlled. Fitted with these tires, at least, the E-class is almost as easy to drive quickly as it is to drive autonomously.

If the gee-whiz autonomous features define the E-class approach to luxury, we wish similar attention had been paid to more traditional premium qualities. As with some other recent Mercedes products, the overall feel of the car, from its steering to the way the doors and trunk close, falls too far on the light and insubstantial end of the spectrum. The clicking of electronic relays under the dashboard could be silenced only by turning off the autonomous features—or by switching on the outstanding Burmester sound system. We often heard the suspension make clunking noises that would have raised our ire in a car that cost half as much.

In the E300’s tiny analog clock—positioned low on the center console below the climate controls, where no driver will ever glance to check the time—we saw a metaphor. Just as that clock is entirely overwhelmed by the 12.3-inch wide-screen display borrowed from the S-class, the E-class—and perhaps the automobile itself—has begun a process of diminution to the technology of the future.

Wwooew! If someone hear a Mercedes name they say wow! Mercedes has its brand, Royelty, luxury and comfort. The car look very sexy.?? I know about Mercedes cars because my brother have modification showroom of Bmw, Jaguar, audi, and MERCEDES. And I was with him when I got time and I know how expensive is to maintain a 'super car'. But the all expenses got worth when u Drive the car it was smooth and very comfortable that u may fall in love with the car. It you drive the car you seriouly want to own that car!

My lifetime dream was of w210. e240 elegance.Coming back to reality I think maruti has better parts, reliability, service.Merc has pathetic quality of rubber parts which gives way for oil n fluid leakage.

Engine rubber seals get hard within 3-5yrs and then u have the expensive and time consuming repairs. You need to wait for 15-20days for the parts and parts the size of a wedding ring and in rubber cost 2k-3k, be prepared to book a new car not a merc and I think that would arrive sooner than the parts and would be cost effective even if you shell out 3lakhs.the service guys dont hear you.go by std procedure.check lights n aircon for oil leak.and then tell u to wait till evening for an estimate of repairs.sundaram motors Bangalore is worse than a govt office. Billing takes 45min and is lethargic.They think the wealthy were born rich with b**** in place of brains.Selling off my car asap.

The last thing I expected was to see my Mercedes E class breakdown on the road in Pune during a hot afternoon. The irony was that it broke down near the local dealer. His mechanic declared that the water pump had failed. Imagine a 2 year old Merc to breakdown like this. What followed was a horrifying experience. The pump was to arrive after 3 days.

Me and my family were left high and dry in Pune after traveling from our hometown, Nashik. They did not provide a service vehicle and after much noise, the dealer relented and tried to get a pump from a nearby location. When I complained to the company, I was faced with a dead silence. Till now, even after 3 months, they have not responded. So much for owning a Mercedes. I will never buy or recommend anyone to buy one. I am planning to spread a word in my very wide network in Nashik, Pune and Mumbai -'NOT TO EVER BY A MERCEDES' .
