Honda City VX (O) i-VTEC

Hello all,

I am delighted to write the review on my favourite car - Honda City.

Prelude:

My previous car was the peppy and lovely Maruti Swift which served me for 8 great years. When I was about to replace my 9 year old Santro in 2009, that time I had only one choice - Swift and I bought in one day.

But when had to replace the Swift, I was totally confused with so many options available. My budget was max 12L and to my surpirse there are so many cars available upto that price point.

All in all I took a test ride of 18 cars(from Brezza to Creta to Jazz to Ecosport to i20 etc etc) with endless hours of internet research and finally shortlisted the Honda City and the Maruti Ciaz. As I wanted an upgrade to the Swift in all ways.

Ciaz Booking:

Having extensively driven my friend's Honda City 2009 version I was mighty impressed with the engine and the vtech feel. But the Ciaz, with its mouth watering price and features, gave me 3 sleepless nights in deciding between the City vs Ciaz. I booked the Ciaz as the Maruti Salesman was really very persuasive and skilled.

The Honda Experience:

But when I visited the Western Honda(Chembur) dealership, I was heartily welcomed by the staff. The total experience was really premium and so much pleasant. Even when I told them I am only here to inquire they welcomed me warmly and answered all the doubts that me and my wife had.

We went for a test ride again and the test car was really wow. Even after test ridden by almost 100s of different people and in rough rash ways it still was great car to drive. This made my decision about Ciaz weak.

After this, me my brother in law and his friend all of whom were about to buy a car got together and asked the Honda dealer about the deal they could offer. We got an awesome discount deal with lots and lots of goodies and lots of stuff(esp as the facelift launch was near) and hence I cancelled the Ciaz booking and we all 3 bought the City in January 2017.

The service centre:

In the last 9 months of ownership we have loved each and every moment of the car and the icing on the cake is the service centre. Western Honda staff is really very well trained and they give the customer very detailed attention. All of this adds to the pleasant ownership of the Brand along with the vehicle and hence Honda is preferred by many. They remind me of my cars service schedule and all the smalll niggles and issues which I have had were solved by them during the service.

The Car:

It has a host of features as I own the V-Mt version. The engine is opening up very nicely lately and everytime I drive it I have a smile on my face. The refinement level of i-vtech engines is such that at traffic signals you wont even notice that the car is on or off. On highways the car runs awesome. The torque is spread in such a way that in each gear you get that a power push when you ride it hard above 2500 rpm in each gear. But also whenever its driven sedately it will make sure that you have the silkiest smooth ride. The total average fuel consumption is about 12 in the city and 17/18 on highways and I am happy with that. Conclusion:

I have really loved owning the vehicle right from the booking experience to the service experience to the total ownership experience and the level of satisfaction is extremely high with Honda, not only you get what you pay for but beyond that the total overall experience makes it premium than other brands. I hope they keep it this way.

EDIT:

I have sold the car as it had a lot of problems since the first year itself. I could not imagine I will have to use my warranty so much and once the engine cylinders and head had to be changed I was so fed up and sold it in 2020.

Honda Service has become worst in recent years and the place where I purchased has also shut down(western honda mumbai)

Recently I bought the Honda city car for my Five family members. Honda City car really is an awesome car. On first day, on the car I feel very greatly satisfaction. This model car is very smooth and comfortable as compared to other models.

It has great features and all the features of Mercedes car.

In Leg Room, there is more space for driver. The seat can be adjustable according to the height of the car driver and also it is created that it can be used the foot can be adjusted easily from the race to the break of the leg room.

I bought this car from madurai Honda car dealers who are very sincerely and regularly provide the good service for the car. I am quietly satisfied with the dealers. They provide regular free service on time.

Mileage of the car is also very good. It gives 12 to 15km / 1lr.

The car seats are soft and also front and back both the seats are spacious enough. the padded car seat covers and the car arm rest are additional features of the car which gives additional comfort for driving.

The car tires are have good quality and provide a good grip on wet and sand roads also. The body of the car is very strong and steady. I bought Ash color car which gives royal look with reasonable rate of the car.

Its nice sedan car in that range. having comfort and luxury . sunroof facility is only in top models. But as price vise its little bit costly. Avarage is good. Comfory vise its very excellent car. leg room is speciaus. exterior look is beautiful. And interior is also luxurious as per given.Totaly fabulous car to drive.

My father bought this car in 2015 and I usually drive this car.Its price is varies city to city and the prices are different for diesel and petrol.Its model is awesome which attract everyone.Its lenght and width is around 4440mm and 1695mm.Its seating capacity is upto 5 persons and its displacement is 1497cc.Its mileage is average which is 17.5kmpl.I bought it from Honda showroom delhi and dealer give all the description about the car correctly.Its central lock us keyless and it is having Anti-lock Braking system.It can reach upto 30kmph within second.So I think this is the best car for middle class family.

When it comes to most reliable mid sector car brand, one name that comes to our mind is Honda. Honda City is an awesome car. It has great features and awesome mileage. You should go for it's diesel variant. The sun-roof version is slightly overpriced but the automatic diesel version is a total steal deal. It has all the features of a Mercedes and reliability and pricing of a Honda. What more can you ask for?

It is very spacious and the looks are also killer. Perfect combination of things one needs in a car

It was an awesome car so comforatable and so space for keeping luggage its Mileageis 18 and leg room is nice and dealer satisfaction in wonder ful and in reliabity is fanstastic and appeal is nice and design is super and petrol higest speed is 200 kilometer per hour and diesel speed is 210 kilometer per hour and so nice in interior so space for keeping documents and its music system is nice and sound is like theatre sound.

Hi friends, I like to share my experince about honda city car 2014 edition. my craze toward honda city never ends I dont know why, but I love this car. when we planned to get a new car. with no confusion went to honda showroom, though their was  many model in honda my family and me liked only this car.then the showroom sales man explained its function .

its legroom is really sufficient m brother is 5.9'. he can comfortably sit and drive.

it is a petrol typr car and 5 members can sufficiently seated.

mileage will be 17kmpl.

it has power window and anti breaking system which work efficiently.

contains air bag for both driver and co driver.

they have fabric seat so its efficient for long drive. people can be comfortably seated.

Hey Friends , This is a very amazing car. I purchase this car last year and it is a very amazing car I am having black colour of this car and Its driving also very smooth and its have power steering control. Its braking system also mindblowing its having a powerful control. I realize in this car . Its look also a very excellent and a powerful body. Its engines sound also very less and suspension of this car is very good. The car also has a rear view or parking camera which makes the parking convinent. Its seats are very comfortable.

Thus car having the transmission of 6 gear and one back gear with rear view camera . Music sound of this car is very good its having touch music system with all features like Aux , Bluetooth , F.M , etc and having more features .

It is have sunroof with electric rooftop and having shark fin antenna , having alloy wheels .

One of the thing make me happy in this car that is rear Ac vents and also having charging ports.

I got this car last year which is in black paint it is a very beautiful car with good leg room a man of more than 6 feet can easily be fit in the car and can easily drive this beast.When I ordered this car it took 5 months to get it.but the dealer from which I got this car is a good person.i felt very comfortable during buying this car.its mileage is very good it covers 16 KILOMETERS in one liter.which is quite affordable.it is a very comfortable car the seats are very beautifully and logically designed and one feel relax on sitting the seats.the breaks of the car is very perfect.The smoothness of the tires are also amazing the whole smoothness of the car is outstanding.it is a car which you can use for long term.it creates no problem if you use it properly.i appeal that to put some extra technologies in the car.

As I bought a new honda city car in rachi. It has amazing look and design is also very good. No car can be compared with it. As while driving we feel very much comfortable and it has many new features. As when we ait inside a car the seat of car takes the shape of like your body by itself and when we sit inside a car we feel proud and royal like. As this car has its own navigation system. We just have to locate the place where we want to go then we are safe to go anywhere else without asking anyone about tge route. This car has good puckup about 118 ps power which is great in its class and has mileage of 14-18 kmpl which is also good. As it is a diesel car so it is good to take to big tours as diesel rate is low as comparable to petrol. Its interior is also designed in a way that if anyone sit inside it then he will not tell that this car is not a good car as in comparability this car is the best car as no car can be compared with it in its range. As verna, Sx4, vento are nothing infront of this car so according to me this car is the best car of yhis new generation. Its price is also affordable and a person who buys this car will not be desatisfied so according to me if you want to buy this car then you should buy it because this car is really a best car.

Honda city is one of the best selling cars around the world. Not only the Honda city is cheap and affordable but it is also very fuel efficient and can save you a lot of money when it comes to the consumption of fuel. Honda city has a great outer look and it is very stylish. it also has considerable leg space with quite a large cabin. Being a compact sedan Honda City is something you must have in your garage.

Exterior:

Honda city has a stylish look with a large range of colors so that you can find the color of your own choice.

Interior: Honda city has a very nice interior it has a considerable leg space, high quality air conditioner with rear a.c ducts. There is an arm rest on the back seat. It also has direct buttons on stay ring to control your tuner and its also available with the cruise control mode. you can also adjust the stay ring according to your requirements.

Suspension: The suspension of Honda city is slightly rigid one. Its good overall but still does not match the standard of the goodwill Honda corporation has, therefore the suspension is not the plus point of the Honda city but again its not an expensive car hence you cant expect everything to be perfect in it.

Mileage:

Mileage is a very big plus point of Honda city it is the most fuel efficient car among the compact sedans of its price. Honda city can give you approximately 18 to 19 kilometers per liter on highway and 12 to 13 kilometers per liter in the city area.

Comfort:

Honda city is very comfortable and luxury and it has all the qualities of a good sedan car in it.

Reliability:

Honda city is quite reliable when it comes to the engine and power but the outer body of the car is not very strong and even a small accident can cause a lot of damage to the car moreover the spare parts of the Honda City are very expensive so when you talk about the reliability its not very reliable.

Appeal:

Honda city like every other Honda car is very famous among people specially because of its stunning looks, high mileage and cheap price. overall Honda city is a very good car and it will be a very nice decision to buy it if you are about to buy a compact sedan.

Honda City VI-VTEC an economy car with a range that is affordable to middle class people. Previously I was using coure and after shifting to Honda I feel that there is a difference of class. It has a luxurious interior. It has a seating capacity of 5 people. It has a large trunk with a powerful engine. It has a manual transmission as well.

The Car comes in a range of 8.48 Lakh to 13.40 Lakh so you can have the range according to your need. Don't wait hurry up.

An economic car with a range that is affordable to middle class families. Astonishing new looks and spacious interior will make it most comfortable and luxurious feelings for me. previously I was using Diahatsu Coure and after shifting to Honda I feel that there is a difference of class.

Honda dealership is awesome and gives a complete peace of mind. its that much comfortable that one can easily enjoy a long ride over it.

I purchased the new HONDA city from Olympia HONDA - Chennai in the Apr 2014. From my purchase I used to face water leakage inside my car during the rainy season. Whenever I take to the showroom they used to say some positive comments as it's fixed / may be glass would left open / when we flushed water there is no leakage, their ultimate intension is to release the car with my sign on the same day.

Now, days went off and they are not ready to accept the water leakage issue and they say it as my fault and atlast now my car under chase has been completely rusted because of water leakage and that too I found it through outside Mechanic. From this I came as they are not ready to reveal the impact of leakage too

Pros:

• Mileage(diesel if you are ready to drive between 60 - 70 Km speed per hour on Highway)

• Blind spot is there, while turning you may face this blind spot like you can't notice the person who is about to cross you

  
  

Suggestion to Car owners:

• Better to do service at some private stations instead in showrooms, you can save half of the amount

  
  




• Always during service you can notice one thing, your car smells fresh and clean however, not your car internal organs, please check it like engine oil / coolant oil / break oil.

  
  




• Go for a test drive, check your breaks, power and clutch of the car.

  
  




• Don't do down payments unless you select your car, beacause once down payment is done you are under the control of the showroom person.

  
  




• Please choose your car and go for a drive atleast 5 kms on the city roads so that you may know the suspension and drive quality then, sit inside the car and tell the showroom person to flush water on your car. Check is there any leakage or not because, it's very tough to identify later, it may rust the complete car.

  
  




• Please never compromise or listen to showroom people as it's your hard earned money you take your decision.

  
  

The reason for such a long conversation is because, I already messed up with my car and money by investing on HONDA and the consumer court in INDIA is not effective. I don't wanna waste my rest of money in cases or chasing the Olympia HONDA instead better to go with Maruthi or Toyoto(Worth for 5 lakh KMS).

Suggestion to HONDA:

• Please do a proper Quality Check on all cars as you guys are not giving it for free.

  
  




• Listen to customer feedback and issues

  
  




• Provide customer's a link where they can reach you directly incase, the dealers service are not satisfied.

  
  




• For your kind notice, dealers are begging the customer's to give rating as 10. It's a shame for HONDA to beg customer. Tell them to do service instead of begging us.

Never ever under estimate INDIAN customer's please value everone.

The new honda city 1.5 v AT sunroof is a very good car as if i'm using this car, and I think its performance is really good. great design, better interior and ofcourse how can we forget to say about the sunroof.

The car is smooth on road there is a pretty good space in the back seat, pretty comfartable and it also gives a good mileage. This car will not let the owner down. Great option if you are deciding to purchase this car.

Honda city is one of the best made by honda and most afrrodable sedan which has many function which other cost upto 20 lakhs. Honda has an powerfull engine, good transmission. But thier are some issue related to its height before the 2017 model but the 2017 model is just awesome its has much improvement than old model.

The hieght of new city is great.
