Waste of money
Aug 28, 2015 04:37 PM 43112 Views

Hello i'm vipul and I really waste my money in buying thins vehicle. this car is of no use.i have buy this car as they have given me a great offer on this particular car.

there is very less thing that I like about this car is that its interior is good. it has a smart engine and an GPS system can be used while driving you just have to give some extra bucks.

now the dislike is that it densest have a pick up it is not a 4 wheel drive and a bad suv its better if you buy a fortuner of same prize. fortuer will give you more things at the same prize.

my driving till now is good as I have to drive long as my export and import business. I have take this car very long I is good but not the best it is comfortable nice and a good car. but you can easily get fortuner in same pize and that would be much better than this

this vehicle can be buyed by any one. but usually it suits men to ride such a hulk kind off car .students and women doesn't suits this vechile .

We get very low market interior for that huge money, very bad 3rd row we cant even manage to seat for an hour and big engine with great power it pulls your vehicle out at any bad off road conditions, very bad economy with 8 kmpl in city, 10 on highways. have great control when your cornering, have good body control at top speeds

Ford Endeavour with its strong design is bold and at the same time is stylish.

Consider all other alternatives and you will definately come across this car at the end.

With its 2953 cc turbo engines, it has one of the best power generation of 153 bhp at 3200 rpm with a torque of 38.7 kgm at 2500 rpm.

It is launched at a price of Rs.22.16 - 25.67 lakhs.

: Stylish looks with bold front design and sleek design from the side.

: Best interiors with ebony dashboard and smart cabin look.

: It has large AC vents with large illuminating cooled glovebox.

: Smooth gear shifing enables comfortable driving experience.

At a price of entry level luxury SUV, it is a car worth buying.

Great Car Despicable Service & terrible experience
Jan 20, 2014 02:31 PM 76824 Views

My misery with the Ford Endeavour Service in India never ends. This is my 4th experience of agony with the car and the service in India.

The latest one being the battery getting drained at repeated intervals. The alternator was changed. In spite of that it has happened thrice and I am still being told there is nothing wrong with the car. The instrumentation panel display is erroneous. Shows 4 Wheel drive mode when in 2H mode.Even that is being overlooked.

Have written to the India President. No effect. I was told please continue to ride the vehicle since there is nothing wrong and to give feedback.

It had also happened that when the complaint was registered for the first time, the car was released after supposedly changing the alternator. However, when went to collect the car, the car would not start. I was told that the only the baby part was changed and probably the entire assembly unit needs to be changed.

When asked why was this not checked in spite of the car being at the garage for more than 10 days, there was no answer. To top it all I asked why was the car being released without checking? So much so that car could not be taken out of the service center.

However, after that, I kept the car back, &  the alternator assembly unit had been changed. After I took back the car, on 3 occasions the battery got drained and the car would not start. Each time the car was checked, battery was recharged and I was told everything is ok. And the battery is also ok. Once I was told the fuse had gone awry.

Last time I also mentioned that the there were erroneous display on the dashboard panel. While driving on 2 wheel drive, the display shows 4 wheel drive. I was told there are no such problems and the car was returned. I have a video recording of last evening when the same erroneous display happened again.

The service center in question is the Chandivali Service centre of AVK Ford. I really don't know what to do.

A Good Cruiser
Sep 01, 2013 12:31 PM 26977 Views

After studying a lot about Indian automobile market and from my experience with different brands of automobiles while I was abroad helped me to take a final decision to buy Ford Endeavor 4X2 In Feb 2013, to be honest I had a desire to buy 4X4 but unfortunately there there is no manual version of 4X4.

I had been using it since then and I found it comfortable for my long rides. Endeavor is a cruiser craft and it is not to be used to zip thrrough in cities and traffic.

Tires wont last for long if you are a SPEEDY GONSALVES or if you are a frequent high range traveler.

Fuel consumption is pretty good compared to the size of the car I got on an average 13 kmpl on long run in cities and short runs it lower (dint do much city run so cant comment)

The great feel that one can get from Endeavor is called confidence in treading anywhere at anytime. Ford diesel engines are proven and sturdy. The only drawback that you can get comparing to Indian conditions is when you take this vehicle to the cities, its simply too big for our cities

In practical point of view this is a good vehicle.

A word of suggestion to new car buyers, make thorough inquiry of vehicles from people who owns it and never buy vehicles for the gadgets it has in it, gadgets are just blinds. No one is bothered to use the gadgets.

Rear suspensions need design revision
Oct 26, 2011 10:23 AM 30034 Views

PRASHANT PAWAR, NASHIK

I had a test drive of fortuner, endeavour and pajero on the same day,  pajero I thought was a perfect off roader, endeavour I found can be used  as luxury car as well as off roader when needed, the initial pick was the best in  endeavour and found the ride smooth amoung the three suvs, pajero and fortuner I  didnt like it.

Ford endy is the best suv in india, everthing is good in this suv compared to other two,

but I hv some suggestions, the suv needs design revision on rear suspensions, the hydrallic cylinderical bars supporting rear leaf suspensions need to be worked on, they shld be in one direction, which r opposite instead which dosnt help the cause I think, there shld be proper thai support at the second and third row, the floor at the rear is high, there is no laggage space if there r passangers in third row, I would not like to keep my laggage on top of the roof, it feels like travelling in tourist vehical.

otherwise everything is good.

Bought a 4x2 2.5l black endeavour. Delivers 140 bhp at a healthy torque of 330 nm.  Feels  really great to have tthat precise steering in my  hands. Overtaking is a piece of cake. However u have to  make sure that the tire pressure of 30 psi in front and 32 psi in the back is strictly  maintained to really enjoy the drive or else the steering becomes   heavy and the drive  quality is seriously compromised.

Dont teally use the 3rd row seating , so wouldn't comment on that, getting a fuel economy  10.5 in city and 12 on the highways... which is decent.

The suspension Really sucks though. Its the leafspring ... on bad roads  it puts u off , if u are  fast.

Don' t regret buying one though!

Ford Endeavour 3 lt best in the 20 to 23 lac class
Oct 07, 2011 01:38 PM 27449 Views

I purchased the just launched Ford Endeavour Thunder Plus 3 litre engine with four wheel drive option  in April 2008. The car has done 85000 kmps with me and has proven to be very sturdy, reliable, comfortable, delivering an outdsatnding mileage of 8.25  diesel in city conditions. The power of the car in first gear has to be driven to be believed. This car is a true off roader and sails smoothly on the mud tracks adjacent to highways where other cars will fear to even park. The optional 4 x 4 works like a dream in thick sand or even when the front tire goets into an open manhole.effortlessly pulling the beast out.

We have done Goa, Kerala, Bangalore, Ahmedabad several times and the reliability of this SUV is unlike most. Even the fortunners, CRVs and Pajeros have a second thought when they see the Thunder Plus in their rear view. The car overtakes like a dream. Most of the Indian SUV's are half baked and not suited for offroading.a bit like Yusuf Pathan or Suresh Raina our part time trundlers. The Ford Endeavour Thunder Plus is a Kapil Dev - the real all rounder!

A Dream Machine On and Off road
Aug 20, 2009 01:25 PM 33616 Views

Off Roading was never in my Horizon as a driver although I would have more than half a million Kms in driving experience accross India. Long distances from Mumbai to Goa, Delhi to Calcutta, Around Karanataka and many such trips over time and ofcourse the daily dose from office to home.

It was only last winter when I got my hands on a Pajero on an off road track that I realised how much fun this is. And to my amazement I got the car stuck in sand unable to move forward or backward. This was a total blow on all my driving experience.

There were Gypsy's moving like rabbits accross the river sand and here what I thought was the allmighty Pajero wasnt budging. I tried all gear combinations and tried but to no result. Finally my uncle an experienced off roader came to my rescue and got us all of the car and with the help of the local villagers we pushed the sand away from the tyres and in a minute the Pajero was out and speeding accross the river side the same way as the gypsy's.

Being an automobile freak this little incidence made me want to learn all there was to learn about 4 wheeling around different terrains and the search for a car began.

I had a stretched budget of about 18 L and so far my choices were very different.. Skoda laura Automatic, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord were some of the luxury cars shortlisted. With Family these were the best choices calling on comfort, style and drive.

But now I was quite inclined to go in for a 4wd machine and hence the choices were again the Pajero, Ford endeavour, Scorpio, Tata safari or an old land cruiser prado that were in my budget.

After much pondering, reading and watching you tube videos that I finally went and booked the 3 litre endeavour (Thunder Plus).

I had tested the car earlier but when I was driving my own monster out of the showroom with my dad it was a first timer feeling of sitting on a powerful monster tuck that would just break away and eat everything in its path.

The first drive from Jallandhar to Delhi was better than what I had initially experienced in comfortable road cars. This baby with its pep and comfortable front seats was so much fun on the highway that I didnt miss my little sedans any more.

A week later my family including my young 2 year old son, his help, my wife and me were off on a trip to Corbett bang in the middle of Monsoons.

We were joined by a friend who had recently acquired his Auotomatic Laura and off we were.

The Endeavour carried everything from my sons bycycle to his toy basket and all of us had the luxury of carrying our own suitcases and everything you could think of and yet the Endy kind off looked back and said 'is that it or do you want to try and fit the santro in the back space'. awesome feeling of space.

My kid watched his fav Tom and Jerry's on the DVD player and didnt trouble us once over the long 8 hour Journey and we happily put the DVD on silent and listened to our collection of music on a pleasant sounding 6 CD changer audio system.

The fun began when we registered our Endy to enter the forest at Corbett. It was pouring rain and the two families including two kids, two helps, a guide and the four of us settled into the endeavour and enetered the forest roads.

Barely a Kilometre away there was a huge Jam with about 30 Gypsy's waiting and ready to turn back as there was a speeding river (monsoon time) which was scarily in everyones way. As we moved forward there were some drivers who warned us that if we got stuck they would not help us.

I had no experience at all but the thrill of crossing that river just seemed so exciting. I checked the water with my friend and it was about Knee deep with a powerful current. We had kids and families loaded so the decision was tough untill one of the gypsy drivers told us to go for it.

We sat got the car on 4wd low and went in slowly. The only thought in my mind was that if the car struggled at all I would pull backwith my rear tyres. What happenned next was History for us. The Car just went in and water splashed all over the windscreen and the next moment we were out on the other side of the river with a crowd of more than 50 people who were watching from their Jeeps clapping away. Ofcourse now they all followed us.

Then there was no looking back. As a first time off roader I tried everything along the forest. from ditches to climbs, waterbeds, slush and you name it. This baby would say no to nothing in a fully loaded car. What more was that our backs yet had no stress owing to the fantastic suspension. We all remembered our older gypsy experiences when after about 30 mins the backs would give way.

This car doesnt really need an experienced off road Driver!!! to take it anywhere. It has a strong will and heart of its own.

Post that the road trips continue and we have been from mountains to sand bashing in Rajasthan. The Endy was the best possible choice for us and continues to drive me to work or anywhere I want.

Next month we are looking to 4wd tracks in Leh and hope to set off on a journey I am sure I would love to write about.

Cheers and for those considering to own one of these machines, read the review!!!

Words would not be enough
Mar 19, 2009 01:40 PM 28749 Views

All well this is for the first time I am writing a review on mouthshut or rather on anything in my life...Well cars r my big time passion n I have a few at my place too like the skoda octavia l&k chevrolet magnum hyundai accent n the list goes on ..but the one which I would suggest to one n all is the FORD ENDEAVOUR ..

guyss n gals who ever u r n if r planning to buy this just go all guns out...u'll feel proud of ur car not only if ur driving but even if its parked in your courtyard or in a parking lot u will feel like admiring it...!! the best part about driving it in india n especially ahmedabad is that the two wheelers they give u way like so easily its like ur commanding attention kinds .haha...n its siimply bcos of the huuuge size of the car when u first buy it or drive it u will feel like as if u r driving from the 1st floor ..the power of the car will just take u by sheer force...its like a plane running on run way waiting to fly ..

the maintenance is pretty much niel n the fuel consumption does hover around 10 in the city n easily stays that way on highways at even a speed of 150 or 160 n above..there is a 3 row seating in this car n its not that only this has it but others cars also have but what makes this apart is that there is massive leg room for all the 3 rows..Well I guess that's enough of reasons to make the ford company feel proud n for the one's reading this to buy one...!!

Endeavour Rocks

Recently I found myself being introduced to Ford's 'Family SUV', the Ford Endeavour TDCi. This behemoth of a machine has been around in India for sometime.

But that was with a regular turbo engine that churned out a measly 110PS. Ford realized their shortcoming in the power department, and decided to play catch up in terms of technology as well as power.

This change also brought about a new look which is not to far from the familiar face of the Endeavour, but its different enough to tell the two apart. Ford Endevour an SUV.. had a powerfull Engine, good thrust, torque which is  330Nm@1800rpm

Acceration is also great. What makes it a choice to buy is its Strong Body, Looks..... It is made for all kind of roads. Gives you ample space, with 7 seating capacity... fuel efficiency 10.3 kmpl. Surprisingly cramped interiors due to high flooring, rear passengers suffer the most. It is a great highway cruiser. The driver is the only pampered soul on board Its a must ride..

Who can af"ford" a ford is the lord of the road!
Sep 22, 2007 02:19 PM 29011 Views

I remember my first new car?

Like a lot of consumers, it was a small, low-priced car, and it meant the world to me back then—not just for transportation but because it epitomized freedom, independence and growing up.

for the moment! well,  who can af"ford" a ford is the lord of the road!

its a mean a machine no doubt, but looks do not match the word endeavour, the en "devour" actually devours lot of fuel.

Highway travel was better than expected, too, though I made sure to plan for passing maneuvers. The engine needed time to gather momentum at highway speeds for passing, especially when I had four adults and some luggage traveling with me.

I heard occasional loud "ba-booms" from the suspension as I traveled over uneven pavement.

Intriguingly, the sounds were worse than the actual impact. Passengers felt the road bumps as they rolled over many road bumps, even manhole covers, but they did not get roughly shaken and jostled.

Endeavour TDCI!!
Jun 30, 2007 08:00 PM 27533 Views

I am writing my review on the recently launched Endeavour.. (20th June'2007) in Delhi..I was really awaiting the launch of this powerful beast of an suv and had heard a lot about it since its launch earlier this year in Thailand as Ford everest..!!On my visit to the showroom, I saw the same old hulk but an all new heart..!!Yes, the New Endeavour has the best in class Power..With a 2500 cc direct injection based turbo charged diesel engine, Ford's Patented Duratorq engine (driving the Fiesta), delivering 143 bhp (enough horses to run the beast), higher torque, better mileage (Close to 13 kmpl), it is way better than any suv in its class (Honda CRV, Hyundai Tucson, Grand vitara etc.)Besides Ford's old school raw styling adding up to the Hulk like features is the new improved clear lights and little upliftment in the front. (Not significant) the Endeavour still looks great and as imposing as ever.

The major and significant changes however are not just under the boot but also visible in the interiors which are way better now..

  1. the interiors are Good, making it polished and no longer the plasticky feeling a touch of wood is also available in the limited edition.

  2. The dashboard has also been improved with a 6 cd mouth based changer which makes the music system more contemporary and appealing (Earlier it was a normal audio cassette player not expected in a 16 lakh plus car).

  3. The air conditioning is powerful like earlier. Also Another Plus for Ford is (which I think is done after careful planning..) is the pricing of the Vehicle..The 4x2 in Delhi is 1472 grands, 4x2 limited is 1552 grands and 4x4 is 1565!!.

Which makes it Valus for money and competetively appealingly priced!!So I am Sure Ford has a huge Winner under its belt finally in the Premium SUv segment!!and hats off to Ford to introduce it soon enough in India.. And I am positive that I would buy this SUV by this Diwali!!Hope this helps..

Worst servicing and spare availablity
Feb 23, 2007 03:50 PM 31409 Views

Ford endevour is  a good suv if the service support is enhanced. generally it takes 7-10 days getting a spare. I gave my car for repair at harpreet motors , gurgaon. it has been a week and still no parts have arrived . when u contact them the say parts are coming tomarrow. (tomarrow never comes). overall it was a bad experiance getting in touch with harpreet motors for car repair.

To add to problems there are not much of repair shopsfor endevour , outside in the market. all these things may trouble anyone of u guys reading this . if u see ford endevour from servicing or spare requirement, I STRONGLY SAY FORD IS NOT A GOOD SUV.

REGARDING THE PICK UP IT IS ALSO BAD.

drive on the bumpy roads is smooth but after sometime the car starts rattling!

Fuel consumption is also much .

A/c is good.
