Highly regret professional firm with unprofessional behavior. Lost my original RC Card and Insurance. copy Don’t reveal till months together and finally deny. Even refuse to take the onus.


Dear Sir,


Highly regret to bring to your notice the response being received by your office after misplacement of original RC book and Insurance by your office. The representative at your Oshiwara workshop, Ms. Jyoti was extremely mannerless, shouting top of her voice to prove that she is rite. No record shows receipt of original documents.


I being very busy with my schedule have always asked your officials to pick up the car from my residence for servicing.


In the month of May my car had developed some dent and was sent to the showroom, for servicing plus insurance claim.


Hence original RC book(card) and the insurance copy was handed over. The car was left at my residence the 2nd day in my absence to my daughter.


Since my insurance was to expire. I was looking was the original and found the same was not returned. The record which usually is maintained reflected that last it was taken by your executive for claiming insurance.


On inquiring they refused to take the onus and instead of extending a helping response the attitude reflects highly unprofessional behaviour.


Request your intervention in the matter and confirm.

Need ur help guys for buying a car. my budget is around 3 to 4 lakhs only. this will be my first car that im going to buy. I m little confused between marui alto, chevy spark and chevrolet beat. I have already taken test drive of these thrree car. beat is out of these competetition beacuse of price tag, it is just out of my budget. now its difficult to choose alto or spark, alto fully loaded im getting at 3.5 lakhs whereas spark is available at 4.5(fully loaded).


My main concern is fuel economy. I want car which can give more run on less consumption.

I bought spark last year in aug 2010. although being a small car, it still impressed me with its space inside. The engine is so silent that many timein signal  I turn ignition only to find engine is already running. pick up is decent. though many times I feel that need for power .mileage is so so. I get around 14 in city with ac on. and best I got was 15.75 in city with ac off. 16 is the best figure on high way.


It behaves somewhat like a diesel car as in pickup is slightly sluggish. u need to downshift gears to overtake a long carriers or buses. but really torquey as it can comfortably drive at speeds of 40 kmph at 5th gear with engine showing no clatter or rattle.boot space is also well managed for its size. best  part of it is its exceptionally good turning and handling capacity. well made for city traffic in terms of negotiating between vehicles and parking. sparks beige interiors are gem to eyes. even cruze doesn't  have such good looking interiors.chevorlets 3 years maintenance free service is a delight. u dont pay for ur services till 3 yr or 1 lac km whch ever is earlier. service and customer care is good.


Rising petrol prices made me consider buying recently launced beat diesel. now come d problem resale value of chevorlet cars is poor. ied say it sucks. even the showroom from which my car was purchased and serviced could only offer 50 % of the original amount. 1 year old car only 13000 km done  and 50 % depreciation.  not done.

I bought spark bcuz I found all features like co fitted AC, stereo, power window at a price of entry level car. Altough spark have it all a dashing look, powerful AC, integrated stereo, . But few things made me disappointed is fuel avg., interior although plush but it dilute the clarity as it work as shadow at windshield.


besides this pick-up is also lacking spark . Rest is recommended for those who are looking for stylish car at small price.

I bought spark on Dec 2010 and total run is now 4000 km, the car is fine but feel less power in highways, interior space is very good but lacks with boot space, service center and staff are quite good to handle work properly.


Good for city driving and traffic, though I have drove this car in extreme Indian village roads but car has delivered a very good result. First service done last month still feels less pickup. But recommended car for the people.

Strange problem of Puncturing in Tubeless Tyre

I am currently facing very strange situation. I have Chevrolet Spark whose tyres are Tubeless.


Now this tubeless tyre is getting puncture every week due to very poor road in Pimple Saudagar area and Wakad.


If I go to repair the puncture, the puncture wala charges approx Rs.60/- to Rs. 80/- for each puncture.


Now if you have 5 punctures in one tyre imagine what will be cost and not only that if valve has to be changed it will cost you 280/- or 360/-


And there's lot of other things.


My concern is that, there is some permanent solution for tubeless tyre where if we get some liquid we can inject that into tyre and it will never puncture as it will automatically repair itself, I have seen this in Television sometime back which was introduced by HONDA company.


But I don't find such type of solution here in Pune. Can anyone please help me as how can I get rid of repetetive puncture of tubeless tyre.


We need to stop this unnecessary expense caused. We all know even Dealers also won't take responsibility of tyre puncturing.


Any help will be appreciated.

Ground clearance is very bad, almost every time it touches speak breaker when driving with 1+3. Dealer is not responding in to it. Space is not as good as needed for 1 + 3.


Interior is the best. Looks is very good. Pick up is ok. Dealer service is not so good. They ask us for feedback but when we give it there is no solution for your problems.


They even don't get back to you. I am in touch with them for the problem of ground clearance but no solution since last two services or no response. Very unhappy with this problem as it is restricting us to drive with only 2 adult only.

I purchased the car in April 2011. It is my review after 1009 Km. I am working as Vehicle testing engineer at Tata Motors ltd.


Overall it is a good car


Some negative points:


Very low ground clearance not suitable for country side or rough roads


Fuel economy seems to be low however, I have yet to get 1st service done. I have generatured Fuel economy data and would share after completion of 3000 km


AC is not effective at rear side, infact poor


Possitive points:


Reasonable pricing


Good interiors


Easy to drive


Good leg space at rear and readonable good at front

I just bought a Spark LT and using it for just 1 1/2 month. Bsically, the reason I bought a small car is simply for fuel economy. I choose Spark among other brand because of its design, its safety, its power amenities, its price and most of all its supposed fuel economy.


I dont have any comment on the comfort and reliabilty, I already expect it due to its size and price. But what i'm really particular with is the fuel consumption.


The Spark has a 1200 engine, it is manual transmission and a full tank of 35 liters of gas( 5 liters is the reserve). I expect that it will go for 12 to 14 kms / liter. The mileage of the car right now is 1442 km, and I already refill it for 5 times with 30 liters of full tank per refill. If you do the month, its fuel consumption is 9.5 km / liter. This is good if you have a 1600 or 1800 car engine, but if you have a 1200 car engine, this is not economical.

It was one of my childhood dreams to own and drive a car. When I finally decided to buy one, I considered and compared Spark, WagonR, Alto, Santro and Indica before settling for the Spark. It has been 16 months since then and I have enjoyed every moment of owning and driving it - 8000+ kms till date.


It has two very important features for stop-and-go city traffiic: 1. Easily maneuverable 2. The higher torque lessens the need for changing gears frequently, and consequently the fuel efficiency is good.(16kmpl, city driving 30+ km/day, A/C 20%).


The suspension is very good. Many a people have commented on this aspect after travelling in the car. Technically, the car is advertised to have some feature that is usually not present in this category(pls check out the chevy website), and also has a frame that is comparatively much better at keeping the occupants safe in the event of a collision. Though it looks small from the outside, there is a surprising amount of legspace inside the car. With a double-foldable back seat, it can be used for carrying larger items also when necessary.


There is a slight loss of power when the A/C is turned on.


Update after 2 yrs and 14000 kms


Had gone on a long drive 3 months back, covered 650 km in two days. Max speed 110 during the drive. Smooth and easy handling at high speeds, mileage of over 20 kmpl.


BAD SERVICES BY AUTOVIKAS, PEERAGARHI, DELHI

I hv taken my spark for service at autovikas, peera garhi, new delhi on 9.7.2011. My service number was six. It is regret to confirm that upto 14.30 hars they are not able to service my car. I have pointed out many time to the service person.


Later on I hv spoken to dgm mr. Naresh. He is useless fellow. He is not caring. There is heavy mis management. There was no system. I hv hot agruments with mr. Naresh. And asked him to giv e our visiting card he denied straight away.


He told me i am in auto vikas. After washing, I have paid the bill and bring back my car at home with half service. Later on i hv spoken to mr. Sandeep sabharwal, he has promised me to call back. Later on i have spoken to mr. Nitin, mr, sujoy of auto vikas. They listened to my grievances patientcly. Please instruct the autovikas to give proper services to their customers with smile.

After having driven this car for approximately more than 17000 kms, its time that I guide the customtakeouters who are lost and are confused among the 1000cc variants. 1000cc options are available in almost all the car companies existing in India. But the modern customtakeouter wants to invest his money in a car that gives him value for money and a pleasure.


Obviously an average Indian is always very stingy and miser and will want his one rupee to give him 2 rs worth. This is where one of the small cars from the lot enters. The Chevrolet spark with 1000 CC engine and 63bhp of power and 90 nm of torque. This is one of the best cars available in the market with some very good propositions. This I will take up one by one in the entire review. Other cars of this segment with the same facilities are around more than 4.0 lakhs but this car is available @3.38 lakhs on road in delhi. Approximately 60k cheaper.


DRIVE & BODY ROLL


This is one part where till the time you have test driven other cars of the same segment, you will not be able to judge the performance. The body roll is very less even at high speeds and while taking sharp turns, the car hold back on the track and will never let you feel uncomfortable. U will have the feeling of staying planted on the road. The suspension setup is very good. You will not be able to feel jerks and the car cruises over the potholes effortlessly. In wagon-r or Hyundai i10 or i20 or even the Tata indica/vista, the vibrations and body rolls are very apparent and visible. I have driven in the hills of nainital and mussorie without any problem and the car moves in a very composed manner in the 4th gear with 4 people inside. This car is easily drivable by ladies also who find it very friendly and easy to drive. Men who want more macho type drives should opt for trucks.


NVH & GEAR BOX(noise vibration & Harshness)


This is one part where the car scores over others. U will not be able to judge if the engine is running or not till the time you do not have a look at the digital tachometer. The engine is super quiet due to some very good insulations and no noise enters the cabin. I can even hear the small bells of the showpieces


(hanging from the rearview mirror inside the car) tinkling while driving and that is real music to ears. Of course high revs do matter. The vibrations are not even felt in the steering wheel or the gear knob. If you place a glass of water, u will not see any vibrations in the water. The basic advantage of this is the fact that you will not feel tired at the end of a long journey. The gears are also smooth and slide into the slots effortlessly. Of course maruti K series gearboxes are much better. Clutch is really butter smooth and even a kid can press the clutch without efforts.


BUILD QUALITY & SPACE INSIDE


The build quality is simply great as you do not find the cheap plastics that are spread all over in other vehicles of this segment. Whether it is Hyundai/maruti/tata or any other brand. This car still comes with fabric inserts on doors and seats wheras all other companies( maruti/tata/Hyundai) have resorted to cost cutting and have switched to some other dirt cheap material. The space inside is also superb with intelligent space management system that they have put in place. For an average size Indian(5.4 to 6.0 ft), will never face any problem whether sitting on the front seat or the back seat. The boot space is sufficient enough for a small family. Of course, this car is not for Columbus type family.


FUEL EFFICIENCY


This is a question which is of prime importance. Of 17000 kms that I have driven, I have found that the average is 17kmpl in average city driving conditions with AC on 50% of the time. On highways with 100% AC on it gives me 19 KMPL @ 80-100kmph speed range. This is only tank full to tank full method. No half fills etc. AC is really good. It cools very quickly and immediately.


SERVICE


The 3 years maintenance is a boon as u will not be spending even one rupee on any of the activities like maintenance etc. Even oil change is free. In one and a half years of my ownership, I have not spent even one rupee on this car. Others who own it for more than 3 years also say that the maintenance is low as compared to other cars of this segment. Contrary to what entire world says, this car is easy on pocket, be it in any terms. The service centre is of course not as well equipped as those of marutis but it is easily good if not the best. The technicians possess adequate knowledge to service your vehicle and provide you good solutions to the problems. Of course you will find idiots quarrelling with the tools everywhere but you need to kick them in order to get the best out of them.


Now the time for some CONS.


The width of the car is less which causes you to rub shoulders every time you change gears. The boot space should have been increased and the knee touching the central console is sometimes irritating. The attiMr_customtakeouter of service centre is somewhat casual but as I already said that you need to kick them hard to get them to work. The gear box is a bit notchy and needs improvement. Marutis/hyundais or fiats are much better in terms of overall gearshifts.


Conclusion


After all its your money….it all depends whether and how you want to spend it or use it wisely. This should be entirely your decision. But after all we should sometimes try to look the other way also. Try something new. If our ancestors would not have tried and done something new, then there would have been no inventions and discoveries and we would still be living in the stone age. Trust me friends, this is value for money. A decision that you will never repent.

I also own Spark LS Version costed me 3.55 lakhs which  I purchased in Nov 2010.It is my  review after 2500 Kms. Overall it is a good car but has some negative points like power steering is good only in top model, in LS it is average, very low ground clearance: i.e if you are a city driver than its ok but if you want to go outskirts on weekends...be careful, good average may come after 5000-15000 km running on petrol.


Till that time it is giving 10/12 (ac/nonac) in city driving. It is costing me 5-6 Rs/Km right now. Now positive points:reasonable pricing, Big interiors, easy to drive, smooth engine , large space etc. Aso in many spark GM has use low grade material in rear doors than front doors.....ask dealer to shown you the vehicle before delivery.......

I bought it 1 year back after clearing all the confusions for hatchback options.....Its new beige interiors are unique and attractive, still simple and sober..


Its mileage is no problem at all....maintenance is zero, the smoothness with which it runs out plays all other 1000 cc cars.....


A LT model kills with its looks, the class of chevrolet reflects in its very character, though descended from matiz....it has got smart interior space......


Best suited for women...and the best car u can gift your wife ......

I purchased this mini machine with big engine in October 09. But till day day of writing, I am a proud owner of Chevy Spark LS. The color Red is my daughter's choice & the variant LS is my wife's.


But the entire unit is mine. I would like here to share the story of this car since its birth in my family.


We took occasional drive every week & long drives once in 6 months lot.


This time also, I drove my car from Bhopal in MP to Bilaspur in CG some 800 KMs. But the machine proved its mattel. No where in summer day with out ragging sun let me feel down with its AC quality giving me fuel average of 17KMPL.


Also, the power it carries is wonderful. Unmatched relaible engine.


But indeed I felt the loss of POWER STEERING quality moslty.


Also, I would like to mention here that the Dealer in CG has no good post sales service experience. They are far more behind tracing & diagnosing the problem car has.


On the otherhand Dealer at Bhopal with special thank to GM works, who has personally driven my car traced the long back exisitng tiny problem & solved out himself. WOW effect was felt by me then only.


ANd the faith & trust of CHEVROLET build more in me.


Yes I have some old exiting grievienace too, but I am sure if any of the company representative is reading this review would surely be concerned.

I like this car. It has very comfortable journey, really very comfortable car among of this standard. Lower space is very low especially for kolkata road bumpers. I don't like it's dashboard central speedo meter. Because look very odd. Rear side foot space is very short.


Finally it’s a very comfortable. After all this is my next car after using Alto. I would like to recommend to my all friends especially small family persons.

I have booked chevy spark LT version of petrol, , , , , , , but lil confused between petrol or lpg..........my approx. running of car would be at max 1000 kms or lesser than that also need to know about mileage of lpg with ac and mileage of petrol with ac..


Overall in first glance I like the car, various color options available........decided to go with red one, , , , , , , interiors, leg space, etc are just fantastic......it will be my first car and I hope im taking right decision.............................just need ur help in petrol or lpg variant.........plz update me on this...........happy and safe driving to all................

Best car in its segment for 3 lakhs 30,000 km

Pros

Spark is a good car , considering the 1000cc engine and the good mileage it offers. I have been using this car (LS version with power steering and front power windows) for more than 3 years and  30, 500 kms.


Its very much reliable and the driving comfort is more than expected. Its mileage and pricing is far better compared to Santro, Wagon R, Indica etc. The fact is Chevy spark is less hyped in TV Ads or commercials but it performs better on roads ;-).


It costed approximately 3.5 lakhs, including tax, on road, with all the original chevy seat cover , central locking etc.. I have always got mileage around 16.5 kmpl  with AC  and for city rides. The vehicle was reliable and performed smoothly through all those bad roads, village roads, high way and rough terrains.


The luggage space is also good. Now the base model start price is approx 2.8 lakhs. I have done 6 routine services so far and it didnt cost much. I have driven the car for 150 kms on a strech from work place to my native place (on week ends for several months ) and it was comfortable.


On high ways, its pretty comfortable drive upto 80 - 90 kmph speed. Small turning radius and easy to park , can drive throgh narrow roads also.

There was rattling sound which was corrected after a service. Indicator and wiper controls are on alternate sides from ordinary cars, but we'll get used to it.


Got ac complaint and leakage after 2 years and had it corrected from service center. Got less service centers/ dealers  in kerala. 1 in every major district or so ..  bad compared to maruti service network.

Good car if you want to use for 3 years or less


Car is designed for 3 years only, those who want to use car for three years should purchase it , coz till 3 years you can get the parts replaced in ==Wty. After 3 years you may need to replace all parts having high cost e.g. B. Calllipers, B. Cylinders, Window Regulators, etc etc (list is very long and all those parts are critical, you can't drive vehicle without replacing them)

So think twice before buying Spark and want to use it for beyond 3 years years  , if want to use this 2-3 years and not worried about resale value Go ahead and buy spark, no second thought that this is the Best Car for those who wana new car every 2nd or 3rd year.


If still you wana to buy Spark be prepared for




  1. 2 Visit per month to service station




2.  Spending Rs 5000-6000 per year on parts replacement after 3 years of ownership (till 3 years all your noise related issues will be resolved by Grease application or Hammering)

All above comment are based on my own experience with Spark LS & PS Model owned by me  from last 3.5 & 3 Years respectively. I had purchased second car based on Initial 6 months performance of the car.

Should I prefer Chevy Spark LT version over Wagon R LXi version. Three issues I am concerned about are space, mileage and maintenance?
