Chevrolet Beat LT Petrol

I am impressed with the looks, Features and the Fuel efficiency of the Beat. Very silent engine, I really enjoyed the driving of around 1550 km as of now. Lot of people has concern regarding the pick up, but the pick up of the vehicle is good. Pick up is a bit concern when the AC is on and full.But for that matter any hatchback is same in this regard.

The car has very good interiors and exteriors. The car wont appeal to elders but for Young Guys this is vehicle to relate with. Car gives 15.27 Km in City and in Highway gives around 18.5 km per litre with AC on.(I'm a Novice Driver).

With the price of around 50k less compared to I10, this car is absolutely Value for Money with better looks than others in this segment. Performance of vehicle improved after first service.

Exterior:Bright colors. The colors of Beat are very bright and lively in nature. I mean they are made to attract its target audience i.e. youngsters. Bold front with huge headlamps and a big grill. It looks cool but somehow I feel it is much bigger then the whole car, which gives it a feel of a big car from front. Actually after spending some time with it I started disliking its huge front. Rear side of this car is quite good looking. Nice tail lamps placed nicely and in proportion with the whole appearance of the car. Rear spoiler looks good. This car sports a 14 inch wheels which gives it required attention and good grip over road.

Interior:Looks great in photos but in real it is not that great. People talk of its driving position but believe me the driving position is somewhat awkward. I am really not very comfortable in it. Even spark is better  then this car. UVA is very good in terms of driving comfort. Dash looks different(this is all I can say) but not awesome. Plastic quality is great as expected from a chevy. Control switches are of good quality and feels easy to operate. One thing I want to mention here that the integrated stereo system does not looks good(in my opinion). Seats are a bit hard as compared to its competitors. It is good for short drives but in longer drives it may be not that comfortable. Actually I drive a lot on long drives and I feel cars should be comfortable in long journeys. Rear seats are nothing to be happy too. I sat on the rear bench behind the driver seat and my knees are touching(rubbing) the driver seat. Terrible. The rear seats are not much inclined so you end up sitting quite straight which is not comfortable by any parameters.

Engine:Where are those BHPs and torques. The engine starts very silent and remains same in idle. Slot it in first gear and push accelerator. Where is the power gone. Slot it in second gear, again same complaint. I hope I won't have driven it at least I am happy looking it. Every time in fourth gear you have to apply brakes you have to change gears to maintain momentum. This car is great on papers but in real driving conditions I feel spark is a better driver's car. I am really really disappointed by its performance. And if you are not comfortable enough driving this car the it is not an advisable car.

Mileage:Mileage of this car is about 12.5 in city. Actually I had a chat with an owner of this car who is in the showroom. He is also not happy with the pickup and he reports mileage to be in 12.5 kmpl range.

Pricing:Pricing of this car is good. Top model is of about 4.4 lacks. Which make it very competitive among competition.

You must be eagerly waiting for the verdict of the latest hatchback by Chevrolet, here are some of my findings based on the test drive I have taken last month. I am a big freak when it comes to cars, for my latest hatchback purchase I started my option by latest launch of GM ie. Chevrolet beat , which is meant to be a game changer for the GM india. Chevrolet India which is at the verge of loosing grounds compared to biggies such as maruti, Hyundai, tata find an freash breath of life.

On the first look of the car the thing come to mind is wow, no wonder the best car available in terms of looks, but what matter the most is the performance .

Step into the car the first thing noticeable is unique dashboard , bike shaped instrument console along with spacious front seats.Turn on keys the car starts with no noise, but after that nothing good to write about . The impressive 1.2 lt engine which boast to deliver 80.5ps of power is feeling like driving maruti 800 to me.The car lacks the initial pick up , and even after my major effort the car dies to achieve the speed of 80kmph , i  can remember how I put my all body weight to the gas pedal.The high torque factor nowhere to seen.

The gearbox seems to me very sticky , specially the third gear which stuck everytime and takes quite a effort to engage. Even after driving more than 3km the AC feels just as air fan, simply it can't give respite to passengers in hot indian summers. some of the impressive things about the beat is it EPS(electronic power steering)which works very smoothly and enables to take edgy turns and its suspension system which is best in his class and scores  much high compared to rivals , when it comes to  brakes they perform quite effective.

I took the test drive at shiva motors ghaziabad and the sales person has no clue about the car, the hospitality is worst to the limits, and after the poor performance of the car the salesperson is quick to say that the car needs service .damn excuse. Although the car is been aggressively priced, the poor reputation of GM will resist the buyers, not to mention the waiting on the car. The build quality is good, rear of car can be done more better , low on boot space, front honey comb grill is good addition.The major consideration for buyers is lack of service centers and high spares cost.

To conclude the review , i feel the beat scores high on looks but gradually falls in performance department.So I must advice all who are looking for beat must do extensive research along with a test drive and rate your self.

We bought a Chevrolet Beat for my sister the same week it was launched. we had earlier booked a Spark but we test drove Beat and planned to go for this. I just love the instrument panel, the digital tachometer and the climate control system. Its good to see that these features are being put in small cars too.

Chevrolet did compromise on the space, the boot is small but for a family of 4, its a good deal. The blue light of the instrument panel gives an amazing look to the interior. The company fitted rims of the tire give a  little sad look to the car but yes if you wish to spend some money and wish to put a new set of alloys then it looks cool.

Fuel consumption is good, in city its 15kmpl. I still have to take it on the highway. The entire panel that shows the speed, fuel, and rpm is all digital, thou I find the frame to be little small that give a some what toy look. That could have been made a little more big in size but the feel is good.

This car give you a good value for money and especially the climate control feature is an added advantage. Plus chevy give a 3 years warranty and maintenance which makes this a good package.

Day 1

I just drove home my new Chevy beat with my wife and daughter and it was a pure delight and my family is really happy and so am I. It is spacious, full of features, really cool pick up, no noise of engine, powerful horn and really cool looks all for great price. Bought from Orange motors , Banjara hills, Hyderabad , thanks to Mr Syed (he is most efficient no doubt)....and they not only did Puja but also gave a teddy bear to my daughter. Nice experience..

State bank of Hyderbad provided loan and so it was easy for me as well. I went for LS model with green cocktail colour and its now fitted with Sony music system, steering cover and seat covers (17000 Rs), got mud flap and matting from orange free of cost. I'll keep posting my further experiences.

May be premature but still highly recommended to buy.

Day 3

I'm still unable to believe than I've got my dream car. Its really beautiful and also the pick up is great, no to mention the space inside, though the boot space is really inadequate. My wife and daughter loves it and so I'm really happy for my decision and I say rest all are cars but Beat is much more than just a car.

It has pretty good horns (like Swift ) and is effective in heavy traffic conditions. I've gone for Sony system with 300 W speakers and the effect is marvelous and yes its AC are really powerful !!!!!

All in all, I'm glad that I didn't settle for anything less than beat.
