I was bored with the horn in my car, so after reading several reviews of car horns of my choice I decided to go for an imported brand rather than Indian brands present out there, I think this is where I went wrong!
I finalized Bosch Symphony and searched on the net for nearest service center, unfortunately I could find only Which was about 30 odd KM's away from my place still with Bosch's reputation I thought it would be a wise decision.
So one fine Saturday 4th May 2013, I went there with my friend and ask the lady at reception that I wanted to change the horn of my car, after waiting for 20 odd minutes she arranged for mechanic who looked no better than a road side mechanic.
All to my luck they had the particular horn which I wanted which cost Rs 639.00 MRP as per box and came with 6 months warranty. The shabby looking mechanic opened up my front grill slid his hands down, removed my old horn and original couplers took a local wire and connected the horn. It took around 15-20 mins in max temperatures reaching 46 degrees, still I was happy with the horn and not at all with his workmanship. So I paid some Rs 739.00 and went ahead, upon almost reaching home the horn started sounding weird as in one of the dual horn was not working properly. I was shocked !!!
Then few days followed I was busy with work and 5 out of 10 times the horn would not work properly. After couple of weeks I went for regular service of my car and showed the horn at dealership and they told me you should get it replaced. Following week the horn stopped working completely. For one whole week I was without horn in Delhi-Gurgaon traffic. Finally after gathering time from my schedule I decided to get the horn checked at Bosch and I went there on 25th May 2013.
It took them 30 mins to attend my car, finally when someone came to check my car he stated the fuse has blown. (Talk about workmanship). So after 15-20 mins of checking he finally got the fuse, changed it and horn started working but in the same condition sounding weird. I asked him what's wrong and he nudged and went back inside, he came along the lady which was at reception and she started investigating did you wash the car with water and things pointing out that I myself have ruined the horn. At that point I realized they do not want to honor the warranty and asked the lady if she is claiming that I myself have ruined the horn.
Everybody went inside and a sardarji was called upon, he asked what issue was I facing with the horn and I explained to him my situation. He asked me to come back next day, I was amazed !!! I asked him the reason why can't the issue be resolved today and he started giving me vague reasons that company people will come and analyze your horn to my surprise & left me thinking if they are actually in relation with or are just some cheap franchise who just buy the brand name and run service centers.
I refused flatly stating I'm too busy to come tomorrow and I am willing to pay for the new horn if that is an issue. He called someone from the reception phone explained my situation and again told me to come back next day. I guess they had the horn because they were changing statements that someone else will look into it, we would require to open the complete bumper while first time they just slipped their hands and fixed the horn. If names like Bosch are behaving like road side shops then what is the point of it after all !!
Couple of days later they called for something and I reminded them of their customer centric ways, to which that lady asked who was sardarji and I was like how would I know he did not introduce himself to me !! and they finished the call. TALK ABOUT FEEDBACK Please DO NOT GO THERE HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE
