Techcom SDC 501

This is the upppermost range of Digital camera offered by Techcom. Costing about Rs 6500/- this one claims to be a 5 MP camera. Like other models of Techcom its information is also misleading. Infact it is a 3.1 MP CCD camera. Techcom which is indeed Sagarmatha Distributors, Nehru Place, New Delhi like many others is not manufacturing anything. These people just import Cameras, TV Tuner Cards,Pen Drives, etc. from China and Taiwan put their labels and sell them in Indian market.

Coming back to this camera its specifications are as follows:-

Maximum Resolution:- 2560*1920 by Interpolation

2048*1536 without Interpolation

Sensor Type:- CCD

Display:- 1.6'' colour TFT LCD

Storage:- 16 MB internal flash memory, additional memory slot is there for upgradation

4x Digital Zoom

Weight:- 122 g

This camera is not a very good choice seeing its price considering the fact that HP Photosmart 635 is available for just Rs 7000/- which is a 2.1 MP CCD camera with 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom.

If I am asked to choose a high end DC with no bounds of money I'll go for Nikon CoolPix series. Nothing beats Nikon in crisp image quality.
