First and foremost thing of any digital camera is its sensor. This one claims to have a 4 Megapixel CCD Sensor. Scrap the sticker from the user manual and you will get to know that it is infact 2.1 Megapixel. So, the maximum resolution at which you can take photos at is 16001200. Though with software interpolation the resolution goes upto 20481536 which again contradicts the sticker itself which mentions highest resolution as 2272*1704. So, be prepared to be misleaded by the company. Had Techcom be in USA it would have been sued for millions. The internal memory is 8 MB which is not suffice by any means but there is an expansion slot in the camera so it can be upgraded. 128 MB additional memory stick costs about Rs 800. There is movie clip recording but without voice. Also, the quality of the movie is so poor that you'll never make a movie from this camera. Anyways, you need a camcorder for that purpose.Even the best Digital still camera cannot match the quality of a poor Camcorder while recording a movie so the poor movie quality can be ignored.

Coming to the plus points it has a CCD based sensor and not a CMOS sensor which results in better quality pics compared to Umax Astrapix 570 which has a 2 MP CMOS sensor. The biggest pro side is YES you guessed that right is price which is Rs 5500/- which makes it one of the cheapest available camera in Indian market besides its younger cousin DSC-301. The screen size of 1.6'' is good enough for normal use.

So concluding point is that if you want a digital camera capable of giving out high resolution pics at a cheap price this camera you can opt for else wait for a year or two mobile camera technology is rapidly catching upto digital camera. So, you never know you can get a 4 MP mobile camera at a reasonable price.
