Superb Camera. Worth for money.I bought it for Rs.7700/ at Dass & Company CP New Delhi. We have recorded many videos. The clarity is too good. The battery back up is excellent. Even in nigh the picture quality is good. It is available in three colors. We have bought a red one. It is very easy to use. The came come with 12.1 mega pixel. In the moving car also the video quality is very good. It is as good as Handycam quality.My son like it very much. For household use it very good. I am very much satisfied with it vao.

I bought Canon Powershot A540 in dec 2006 and found it very good and useful. However since last one yeat battery is getting discharged fast. This problem has became sever since last 6 or odd months try all so called best battery and all different chargers. No use not canon service center has advised for original Sanyo Batter (INR400/- per pair) and Charger (INR 900/-) let us see how it works.

Otherwise I found this Camera very good and useful. Hence wanted to check Is this the problem with all Digicams or this one only? And what are the solutions available?

Hey guys now a days many people use digital cameras as analog camera in daily life but lots of people are still confused while buying a camera. Here is a small review, giving the reference of this digital camera, which is a pretty good product. The picture quality is very good. Functionality is very smooth, easy to operate as well as handle. Battery life is also very good. It operates on  AA size battery. Battery charger is provided .

It is 3.2 megapixel cameras. The compact and affordable digital camera with an enhanced movie mode which captures about 3 minutes of video with sound. Shutter speed is really very high. Picture quality of photos in low light is also very good. You will get very nice feel when you will see pictures on your computer. A good pick for those who have a limited budget.

When I bought this camera(JAN 2007),the trend of digicams was still in the initial phase.I was till then an ameature in photography,had no idead about light,filters and shutter speed or the subject et al.But with time and study I have learned a lot in this regard.When I decided to buy a digicam there were so many prands to choose from and grey market was always an option open.But I decided not to compromise on quality and service.Hence I zeroed in on CANON its basic model was for ameatures and was easy to shoot.Just see and click.Its done.Also it had 4 uniross 2100 mamp batteries and a uniross recharger plus a a/v lead for connecting to TV ,driver cd,plus not to forget the 512 MB memory card.Since then I have taken inneumerable photographs from it and it has not given me any kind of problem at all.Noe ,I am planning to shift over to the digital SLR nad that too will be from the house of CANON.Thanks.

I got this amazing canon masterpiece.....just 2 days back. And trust me, this is the best camera i have ever laid my hands on. The fans of sony cybershot cant argue much....coz the anti hand shake feature in it just steals the show. Its soooooo cool. Even in zoom it prevents pictures from getting blurred.

My 5 yr old cousin clicked a few pics...and i was amazed at clarity.

Earlier i had cybershot......thought it was great...easy to use....and all. Then came across this one... It completely blew me away.....

Ok lets sum up...i am no technocrat, so cant say muchabout shutter speed and all, but if i think what does`an average user look for in a camera? Lets sum up....

So, dont go for that long boasting list of features like to shoot a picture in snow, press this button, when facing sun, press that, when in dark prass that...blah blah blah(this is about sony cybershot) , a single auto feature in this camera does all that for you and does that very very well.

My brother had a panasonic, he used to get irritated shooting pics again and again in dark...coz they were blurred. Only a small hiccough..i found that you cant decrease the megapixels for your pic. This means all the pics have to be taken in 12 megapixels only. This means, the pictures occupy larger space in memory card. So if you want to decrease megapixels and so increase the number of pictures(possible in cybershot and panasonic)...hard luck.

Nothing else worth warning. For now, i say its the best camera.

"Canon S2 IS" is simply amazing. A truly world class product from Canon. I am using it since last one year... Very simple to use. If you are not used to digi camera then simply put the camera mode to Automatic and click the pictures. I bought this camera in USA. I am a software professional but, this camera tuns me into a photographer in just a less than minute. It has n number of  features.

I call it as a mini SLR. It has a powerful flash. Even in the stark blackout it takes pictures very clearly... it is a classic digi cam. Before buying this camera I did lot of analysis. And finally I decided to go for it... it has a powerful 12x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom. If you combine digital and optical zoom it goes upto 48x zoom... which is simply mind blowing. Few days back, I had been to Alibaug & Matheran.

I clicked lot of snaps and they have come out really good. Really very good...

Canon put all their knowledge in the Powershot S2 to make it a very fast digital compact camera. It is very responsive and 2.4 fps in continuous mode without limit is a unique feature for this type of camera. Auto focus is fast, also in low-light conditions. Zooming from full wide-angle to full tele AF will take some time. The camera is very responsive and reacts instantaneous. Exposure and parameters such as ISO, white balance and exposure compensation are set intuitively with the main mode dial and the function button.

The Powershot S2 is also positioned as a movie camera. Quality (640x480 resolution, 30 fps) and features (stereo sound and zoom) are very good. The only limitation is the maximum file size of 1 GB. During movie recording one can take stills at high resolution. The movie mode will be interrupted for a moment. Though video isn’t a main feature on this kind of still cameras, the quality of the avi-movies of the Powershot S2 is stunning and therefore a very good plus. It is suitable for beginners and more advanced photographers and are extremely useful for ’candids’, nature- and travel photography, as well as taking pictures at concerts and

indoor events

Color and exposure:

The Powershot S2 delivers good colors and white balance tends to make them a bit warm and saturated. This can be modified in-camera. Exposure is progressive, delivering bright pictures, but keeping the highlights within range.

Sharpness:

Handheld pictures at 432 mm are razor-sharp. In the rest of the zoom- and aperture range sharpness is acceptable with signs of over sharpening. The in-camera setting can solve this ’problem’.

Lens distortion:

A zoom lens of this focus range can suffer from many deviations: chromatic aberration, distortions, vignette and unsharpness. The Powershot S2 handles all these problems at a very acceptable level and seldom one of those issues is unacceptable manifest.

Noise:

Canon seems to keep noise reduction very modest. Noise is therefore noticeable above ISO 100, but detail is maintained. With a noise filter one can reduce noise in the post-processing. At ISO 400 all pictures are usable for prints of 8" x 6" or smaller.

The Canon SX200 IS is supposed to be, or was supposed to be the best in its class.  That is what all the photography magazines rate it as.  How misleading they are.

This is the worst camera we have ever used. We already have a good Sony prosumer which gives excellent results. We bought the Canon from JJ Mehta, a reputed camera store, thinking it would be convenient to slip in the pocket, at the same time it has 12x optical with 12MP. The menus are too complicated and create confusion.  Our usage is on treks and picnics mostly when the last thing you want to do is to keep changing menu settings.  The Super Macro mode is much touted by Canon but it does not focus accurately too many times, whereas the same image taken in ordinary Macro on the Sony comes out sharp and clear.

The worst bit about the Canon are the colours, almost all the images taken on any combination of settings, come out with artificial colours.

On the advise of JJ Mehta, we took the camera to the Canon showroom at Mumbai's Atria Mall where the representative went through all the features, modes etc with us in considerable detail. The colours still come out bad compared to the Sony and the Super Macro is still erratic of focus.

Either the Canon is too complicated for our use or it is just not a good camera.  At any rate, it is not at all satisfactory for us and I would never buy Canon again notwithstanding the great prices they have at the moment for their DSLR EOS 500D.

GhtI have bou this camera from a nearby dealer nearly 10 months ago and I am very much satisfied wth it.before buying the camera, I did a lots and lots of research on the internet and finally zeroed down on Canon, nikon and Panasonic. As I read the reviews I found that everyone has given canon very good ratings in terms of quality, but less in features. sites like cnet have given Panasonic more ratings just because it has some more useless features, but they have forgotten the main thing for which the camera is made, that is picture quality in which no body can beat canon.

I have gone to many showrooms and seen many cameras. first they insisted me on buying a Sony camera. when I saw it, the picture was much grainy. I liked canon and nikon but canon was a bit better than nikon in terms of producing accurate colours. This particular camera has a 12.1 mp image sensor, 6X optical zoom, 24X combined zoom, a 3 inches LCD screen. the camera uses 2 AA size rechargeable batteries.

The operation of the camera is fast. it takes very good pictures in low light as it as ISO 3200.

I think so speeds more than 3200 are useless as the picture becomes too much grainy.the AA battery feature is very important when you go to remote and distant places like hills for long durations, as these batteries are available everywhere.this canon camera takes very good quality pictures in appropriate light.the images are really clear and of top quality.

the mode dial is very good, unlike in Panasonic cameras.in auto mode, the camera automatically detects the iso speed, shutter speed and other settings according to the shooting conditions and detect and focus on faces.

it records in a very good quality VGA mode. I personally thinks that the vga quality is all we need. the size of a hd movie is very large and it will fill the 4 GB memory card very quickly, as the size of the vga itself is very large. The 6X optical zoom is a very important and useful feature.the camera has a long shutter mode which takes very good quality photos in very low lights, so much low that even the eyes cannot see in that light but the camera has to be perfectly still while taking photos.

I purchased a Canon A1100 IS camera in January 2010 for about Rs 8900/-. Before buying this camera I had gone through the camera reviews in internet, hence I got more or less what I expected (listed below).  Before this I had a Sony camera , but this time I was convinced of the superiority of Canon camera in this price range and decided to go for it.

The reasons why I consider this camera is a good buy for this price range are: (1) it has a 12MP sensor (2) zoom x4 is available , whereas many cameras in this price range offer zoom of 3.3  (3) Optical image stabilization is available which uses a small motor to neutralize camera shake during low light photography, unlike the more cheaper digital image stabilization which simply tries yo process the image(4)  you can use zoom (admittedly digital zoom only) while in the video mode, which is not available in cameras this price range - with 12 MP sensor you can afford to trade some pixel resolution for digital zoom (5) there is a wider range of shutter speed from 15 sec to 1/1600 sec unlike, say, in similar priced Sony camera where the range is 1sec to 1/1600 sec.  If you want to buy a Sony camera with all features such as this you may have to pay Rs 11, 000/-

The pictures taken by this camera (indoor and outdoor) are very good. Because of image stabilization you can take pictures at  slow shutter speeds (i.e without flash). The battery life is also adequate for several days of photography with flash. I never faced battery life problem when I use the rechargeable heavy duty  Ni-MH battery (AA size) which comes with this camera.The cons of this camera are the little extra bulk because of the two AA batteries instead of using lighter Li-ion battery as in Sony DSC type camera which would have made it more easy to carry in the pocket. There is also no battery level indicator  as in Sony, hence you have will have no warning when the battery gives out.

In comparing Canon with Sony, I feel the electronic engineering in Sony is good (miniaturization, battery etc) but the overall combination including picture quality and optics is better in Canon.

Compared to other economy cameras this is the best one. I bought this one 6 months back. After screening all the avilable products I zeroed to Nikkon and cannon, but finally I chosen this. I am pretty much happy with this camera. This has got very simple to use operating buttons, unlike other cameras where in u don’t know why they have given some buttons. Even my kid, who is just 3 yrs old took some nice snaps. Interesting thing is that it has got nice shape which makes it unique from other cameras.

I recommend everyone to buy this little one.

I will not narrate each aspect of the A1100 , but show you its capabilities such as macro and IS.

The Himalayas were photographed from a moving car.

At present I am waiting for AA sized rechargeable Li ion battery. You know why?This is my second camera and now I am planning to buy an entry level slr. Anyone can help me on in. I want to upload more pictures but there is provision for only 2 pictures. But believe me this camera can take amazing shots!

I was searching for a compact camera which I could use for my home photography and could easily carry on my outdoor trips. Budget was around 6 to 8 thousand, and had shortlisted many cameras. Wanted a camera with normal (3x) optical zoom, at least 8 Mega pixels, and most importantly Video recording at 30 fps (640x480) with zooming facility.

Earlier experience with Olympus (FE 170 ) was not too good, had to get it serviced TWICE in three years, before it went dead the third time. So Olympus was out of race, Sony Cybershot DSC S930, Samsung PL 55 and Nikon Coolpix L20 were shortlisted along with this camera. Given by the feedback I received about Canon, and the color reproduction that canon gives, I finally went in for this camera. Altho Nikon is also quite good in this.

10 Megapixel image is an advantage as well as disadvantage, that's because although image comes with very fine details captured, the file size on your hard disk once you transfer it on yr PC is too big to handle. Each 10 Mega pixel image is around 3 MB in size, so you will have to resize each pic if you want to email it to someone. I keep my default pixel size to 6 Mega Pixel, unless I need to capture real fine details of some shot.

Auto Mode gives complete freedom for amateur photographers, for those who want to experiment with the settings the "PROGRAM" mode will let u do it. Variable ISO, Exposure, Flash settings etc.

Face detection is becoming a norm these days with all cameras so not much of a novelty.

Pre selected Shooting modes let you just select the mode and shoot. Super Macro (for super close ups upto 1 inch) is quite good. Overall I am quite satisfied with the camera. If you are looking for an economical camera which gives you true value for money, this camera wont be a bad investment. Brought it for Rs.6200 (Mumbai), but prices dropped immediately the next week & was selling at Rs.5400 at the time of writing this review

SX120 IS one of the awesome cam I used. The clarity that I get sometimes look much real than the real world.

It makes you feel like a professional photographer and you start clicking more photos:).

Zoom is awesome though a bit slow than expected. When we zoom, it takes time to stabilize the image but sometimes its worth.

Lot of option available like photo shades, and option for clicking pictures.

There is one feature I think that is not there in this cam and that multiple pictures at one time like frames. I would have really given 5 star to this cam if it had that shutter function.

HI all it's really nice and clearity on picture and user friendly.I have been using from last 3 months and I enjoyed the future and user friendly features.only disadvandaces I noticed this is somewhat price but it's worth to have while traveling new places and long travel since battery life really very good.

I purchased this camera just before going on a long vacation, on which I gave the camera quite a good workout. I took almost 3000 pictures during the course of the trip, and out of all those pictures only about 4 of those pictures were blurry because of my shaky hand. The rest of these pictures were incredible.

Even when I zoom the pictures to crazy large sizes on my computer, all of them are crisp and clear and full of vivid colors.

The canon a1100 digital pink camera, along with the software that comes with it are surprisingly intuitive. While you can adjust your camera's settings manually.

I just set my to auto mode and start clicking away. Even when I had to turn the flash off in certain lights, the pictures taken by this camera were still stunning.

The time delay between pictures isn't even noticeable, and the AA rechargeable batteries I am partial to using allow me up to 200 pictures per charge, even when I am using the flash and zooming the pictures in and out.

The software that comes with this camera is also incredibly easy to use. It is pretty much just a plug and play transaction getting your cameras on you computer. You plug the USB cable into the camera, plug your camera into your computer, and turn your settings to viewing picture mode and that's it. You are now ready to transfer your pictures straight from your canon a1100 digital pink camera to your computer. The software even comes with amazing touch up capabilities to make all of your pictures even more flawless than they already are.

All in all, I could not be any happier with this canon a1100 digital pink camera. I can't wait to master all of the amazing features that this camera comes with, all wrapped into this user friendly, inexpensive, versatile point and shoot camera. It has unquestionably passed my expectations and I highly recommend it.

I just purchaged Canon Powershot A480 10 Mega Pixel. from one of the Ebay seller on Ebay.in. Its superb Digi cam I seen ever in this price range. Pirce is Rs 5850. This Model A480 is a replacement of Canon Power Shot A470 came earlier. It also good cam but this model is slick compare to A470. Four color variants available in this model, Silver, Red, Balck and Blue. I purchage Red one. Superb Picture quality with this. It came with 4 GB Card, 2 NI MH rechargable cell, 2 AA cell, Pouch, Strape, Datacable, AV cable, CD, Warranty card and Charger in a box.

Cell need to be recharge 7 to 8 hours after discharge, Cam shown signal that low battery or Battery need to be change when its discharge.

Different modes, Movie, Picture Mode (With Different Pic Size) and Lots of other modes also. 10 Megapixel cam, Face detection technology, 3.3X Optical Zoom, 4X Digital Zoom
