I never stayed at Mahaveer builder's apartment(thank God!) so cannot tell anything about the practical problems or advantages but few days back I visited 1 of Mahaveer properties and saw some of their other plans. some of my friends wanted to buy it and asked me about my honest opinion as an architect.

I was shocked seeing their planning. I wil not hesitate to say that whoever has designed it is a deep disgrace to the architect freternity.

Most of their apartments are deprived of any kind of sunlight as they are blocked at all sides by concrete jungle. Bedroom windows open at corridor. Just imagine at night anybody can walk beside your window, even if you are at 4th floor and peep. All the other bedroom windows have only 4' gap b/w the next apartment.why did they at all bother to provide that window I didnot understand! After all it provides niether any kind of light nor any kind of ventilation.

The gap can be called nothing but a bathroom shaft which are meant for pipes not any human being to look out. Dirty and gloomy looking. The next door kid can easily excahange toys through windows only.

The friend of you who is atleast 10 apartment away can easily jump the balconies and reach you. No need to take the corridor. Violation of building codes almost everywhere. There are many more, these are only for glimpses.

I am even more surprised to see that people are paying 30-40 lakhs to buy these hell hole. As an architect I have designed many apartments and visited even more. To keep the profitability some of the compromises we cannot always avoid but atleast we try. But I assure you these are no standard. Go to anybody else who design with some senses after all this is going to be your home and shame on you Mahaveer Builders for exploiting the buyer's money and naivete.
